Been here several times this year without doubt best restaurant in area by miles. Limited menu choice but all freshly cooked & served by the students who are supervised by compassionate & caring staff. 100% recommendation

Mt wife & I ate here today. What a fantastic resturant, the students are polite and professional and the food was beautiful and great value. I had ham hock & sour dough bread for starter which was the best ham hock I have ever had and the chicken main course, followed by a chocolate dessert which was indulgent but tasted lovely. I will 100% be going there again.

We had a wonderful 3 course meal at the Mulberry Restaurant. The ambiance of the dining room was warm and inviting with beautiful table settings. Our server, Alana, was very attentive, quick on her heels and always happy to answer any questions we had. The food was served piping hot, well cooked, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. All 3 courses were delicious, but my favourite was the sweet potato and coconut soup, taste sensation!! There was a slight mix up with our bill but this was resolved the next day.

Another amazing experience at the Mulberry restaurant. The food was beautifully cooked and presented as always. The service is second to none. The food was exquisite, very well presented and nicely served. It’s clear that there are some very talented young people at The Mulberry. Our waitress, Mariia, deserves special mention. We love visiting The Mulberry. We are not at all surprised that they have just been awarded 2 AA College Rosettes, Gold Accreditation and Centre of Excellence accolades. Congratulations to Mitch and the team! Mr Beaty, College Principal, is justifiably proud of his students and the restaurant.

My mother and I went for afternoon tea as a late birthday present and I must say it was wonderful. The environment is inviting and calming the staff are lovely and the food was delicious. On this occasion we were served by a level 1 called Dom who was very polite and helpful with anything we required. We will definitely be visiting again

I have to say this experience was wonderful. My friend and I booked in for lunch, the students were so professional at everything they did. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. All in all excellent. Looking forward to going again as soon as I can

I had been soooo looking forward to this meal. I unfortunately have to say we left deflated! The restaurant is nice & the staff were lovely, it was the food that let it down. We both enjoyed our starters but the main course was terrible! I know lamb is a fatty meat but this was terrible! It was a pin wheel of just pure fat, not an ounce of meat on either of our plates, totally inedible! What was more annoying, the mashed potato was stone cold!! It was the first thing I tried on my plate so it shouldn’t have been cold. The dessert was nice but the ice cream that came with it was of a very poor quality. It was rock hard & full of ice particles, not in the slightest creamy. Sadly we will not be going again.

We were booked in for a surprise afternoon tea with Family, the staff had kept it all secret from us, arrived to see family waiting for us. A lovely airy restaurant, wonderful staff and great atmosphere. Will come again

An impromptu visit to The Mulberry today for lunch....what can I say...absolutely first class, well done to the students in the kitchen, the food was divine and a big thank you to Josh our waiter, considering he was being assessed he was so professional and attentive, keep up the amazing work.....and finally to Mitchell, you should be so proud of all your learners, they are an absolute credit to you and the college

What an amazing place to eat, went for the first time after my mother had been raving about it for quite some time. We had the Christmas menu, food was out of this world, Dan, our waiter, was hilarious- really made our lunch so much more of an experience - would recommend going here to everyone I know.

Fantastic Lunch today served by one of the International Students from Japan. Unusual menu but most enjoyable food, served with a smile. For £30 to get 3 courses beautifully cooked & presented is really exceptional value. The 3 small pieces of fish were superb & the vegetarian main course with a host of different vegetables was much enjoyed too. Drinks prices very reasonable too 100& recommendation

Every time we go to the Mulberry it never fails to impress us. Right from the booking stage to being greeted at the restaurant everyone is welcoming and professional. Tonight was the Best of British menu, the choices meant there was something for everyone. Being a vegetarian it is sometimes an issue when dining out. Never at The Mulberry, they always accommodate to personal needs. The food tonight ( as always ) was delicious and presented beautifully. Our server was Paul he was very attentive and made our evening most enjoyable. He was polite, courteous and ensured we had everything we needed. We love the Mulberry so much that we took 4 friends to enjoy it with us. It was as good as ever. The ambience was warm and inviting, with candles and carefully laid tables. The students really work hard and care about the customer experience. They are well supported and carefully monitored so diners feel well looked after. What struck us most this time was the teamwork and mutual support. There is a calm atmosphere and a sense of professional purpose. The food was superb! Between us, we tried all the starters, all the main courses and all the desserts! There was a great choice and I my wife and I could have chosen anything from the menu and been happy with it. The ham hock, the watercress soup and the goats cheese and beetroot salad were all divine. The fish was perfectly cooked, the chicken nicely done and there was a lovely vegetarian option. The pear tart was lovely, the chocolate pot extremely rich and the treacle sponge and custard was to die for! Great value, with a bottle of Chablis under £20 and a good range of other drinks. Water was served courteously and regularly. Lovely coffee, nicely served from silver pots to finish. What a little gem, in the heart of Burton for us all to enjoy. What a superb training ground for our local youngsters. My wife and I would like to thank all the students, staff and the leaders at Burton College for providing such an exceptional experience. Jessie Mae, Chelsea and Mel deserve particular praise for looking after us so well. Thank you all. See you in December!

What an amazing night out! The service was friendly and efficient, the food was beautifully cooked and presented and the ambience was cosy and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Altogether a wonderful experience.

Another fantastic meal at this great restaurant. Warmly welcomed and seated at a lovely candle lit table with a beautiful flower arrangement. We enjoyed Coronation chicken to start, then lamb chops, fish cooked to perfection and delicious desserts, followed by coffee. Fantastic value and friendly service. Our waitress, Jessie Mae, was very attentive and ensured we were very well looked after. She took time to check that we had everything we wanted and that we were enjoying each course. Having eaten at most of the restaurants in Burton, The Mulberry is one of the best experiences! From being greeted at the door until leaving the service was great! Our food was lovely and we had a few of the cocktails which were all very nice! Our server Layton was friendly and provided very quick service! Compliments to the chefs!

We went to Lunch last Thursday. menu had 2 starters 4 mains 2 sweet options all freshly cooked by students with drinks £30. Frankly great value. Had a great evening with friends enjoying the Winter Seasonal 3 course menu. Mel served us efficiently and was friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian options having delicious leek and potato soup and stuffed peppers (not certain that peppers are seasonal to February 😅) with roasted vegetables. The service is always great, the fact that this is a set up for learners the trade properly is great but the service they provide is superb all whilst training. The food presentation is always nice and cannot fault the food at all.

As an employee of the college I feel really lucky to have this on site facility. Louise runs the Bistro with professionalism and efficiency and gives learners the support they need to provide a first class service. The food is outstanding and the pre-order facility runs like clockwork. It is a treat to have a take-away hot meal at lunchtime and to see the way our learners are growing in confidence under Louise’s watchful eye. I can’t wait until we can “dine in” and eventually open up to the public. Well done to Louise, the learners and the lovely Mitch who is always welcoming and helpful.

We went for Lunch today just prior to 2nd lockdown to be greeted by Summer Rose 1st year student who did an excellent job with a smile in serving us Lunch. We each had different choices to enjoy all 3 courses. The standard is high, food all freshly cooked, in fact nothing to fault. For 1st year students this was excellent as staff were really hanging back allowing students to do their jobs with min supervision. We will return which is best recommendation

First visit this evening, we received a warm welcome from Mitchell and Dylan. We were shown to our table which was well presented. Dylan went through the menu with us, he was professional throughout and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding, the service was also brilliant. The attention to detail is second to none here. Attentive staff make it a very welcoming experience but the food was divine. Warm, freshly-made bread was followed by a starter of whipped goat cheese mousse with beets and endive salad which was perfectly balanced and looked great too (really should have taken photos!). I had an intermediate course of pan fried mackerel filet, pineapple and chilli sauce (first time i'd had that and it was sooo good) with a coriander mayo and crumb.For main I had breast of lamb which came with charred shallots, parsnip, caramelised onion puree and mint oil. Again the presentation was great, the portion sizes perfect, and flavours expertly balanced. For dessert, I had the spiced roasted plum sponge pudding with vanilla ice cream - it was delicious. Call me greedy, but I had a coffee to finish off a wonderful evening. All for £10, I felt like I was robbing the place! Will return, can't recommend more highly!!

Third time visiting The Mulberry last week and it didn’t disappoint. Polite, prompt service, lovely atmosphere and, most importantly, delicious food! Will definitely be visiting again.

We visited the Mulberry Fine Dining yesterday evening and once again enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. I believe that the restaurant is currently in the final stage of preparations for a general reopening in November. Judging by the quality of food and standard of service you would think that the restaurant had never been closed and that the staff were very experienced professionals. From the moment we were greeted at the door to when we left the students were courteous, efficient and willing to satisfy our every need - even though this is the first year of study for some of them. At the end of the meal my wife asked for a calypso coffee and they most successfully made the cream float on top!!Oh.. and by the way. The food was excellent too so congratulations to all of the students working in the kitchen. The pre dinner bread was beautifully baked so I think you may have some contenders for " bread week" on GBBO!!It is also worth noting that we felt that we were in a safe environment with the Covid precautions which were in place . A magnificent team effort and we hope to see you again soon.

Visited this teaching restaurant this evening. And our expectations were totally exceed yet again. The starter of whipped goats cheese beets and endive salad was out of this world. The best starter of I ever tasted. Top marks to the chef and student team. A very pleasant evening and our table was very well waited on by Cleo. Well done. Cant wait for the college to start operating fully. The students did brilliantly for saying this was the first service since February. Absolute credit to the teaching staff. I visited the Mulberry Restaurant with my friend for a fish themed menu. The food was amazing, the 5 course menu included different types of fish each delicately flavoured to perfection. I am a regular at this restaurant and every meal is different and beautiful cooked. The fish menu is certainly one of my favourites. Thank you to the waiters too, as always, polite and helpful, serving the meal to a very high standard. Well done Mitch for guiding and supporting these young people!!! Can't wait for the next one!

It is always a pleasure to eat at the Mulberry. Last week’s seafood evening was outstanding. We always go with high expectations and we weren’t disappointed. It is difficult to pick out the best bit of the seafood menu but I think it was probably the fish pie. The students were on top form, as usual. Jamie is a true professional, always efficient, friendly and very helpful. Oliver did a great job in looking after us. Visited the Mulberry last night for their themed bistro night. Theme was Seafood Night. The food was outstanding. My favourite was the intermediate course of Seafood Pie. The wine list is really good too. This is a teaching restaurant and the food and service is of an excellent standard. The students are so focused and committed. I have eaten several times here and prefer the whole ambience to alot of eateries in the area. The students are a credit to the teaching staff and youth of today. Truly a fabulous evening. Bring on the Gin Night in June.

Very good Lunch menu, 2 starter options, 4 mains & 2 desert options with excellent service from Samera. It was assessment day so all students a bit nervous many photos taken by staff to demonstrate what is involved in all aspects of catering, but once they had orders they were frankly superb. This is an amazing facility.Having been a few times since October we can see the students improve. Thanks for a great experience with good food served with a smile

My friend suggested a lunch at The Mulberry fine dining College in Burton upon Trent.What a lovely place and the manager was so lovely and friendly.After the students hung our coats we were shown to our table Joshua Wright served us and he was clearly nervous but so lovely and friendly.He explained about the food and went to ask what Mulligatawny soup was.It was the most delicious flavour of spice and curry, a lovely stater.The main was a chicken supreme with vegetables served by silver service, delightfully served.Chocolate tart for dessert.What a treat for a Wednesday, the price was fantastic, the attention to detail was impeccable. Well done to the serving staff and the kitchen staff, I was lucky enough to have a view into the kitchen.I recommend this dining experience, I will definitely be returning Thank you

We booked a 12.30 table for two after being recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed. Whist you only get a small menu to choose from, the food was excellent and served well. We both went for a Haddock started which was perfectly cooked. We then had a vegetable curry and pork kebabs for a main, both were very nice. As it was lunch we failed to sample the desert offered as we were full, opting instead for coffee. At £8.99 plus £1 for coffee we were impressed and will definitely return soon. Well done to the team, as a training venue we thought you performed amazingly

The Mulberry at Burton College is so under rated. This is one of the best places I have eaten in a while. People need to realise that this is a teaching restaurant and the students are fantastic. The table settings were just so on point and very classy. Everything tied in together perfectly. Huge respect to all the tutors for expertly guiding the students. A fantastic experience and I can't wait for the Bistro night we are booked in for. Please go and visit and judge for yourselves. You will not be disappointed. Excellent value for money. Without doubt the best catering training college in Midlands. We have been 5 times now. Provided you can make some allowances for students learning [fast] you will have a great dining experience. The Nordic Menu last night was superb, ambitious in content, food was well presented, unusual tastes in places. Recommended

Visited The Mulberry for the first time on Wednesday and were not sure what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The table was set beautifully and we were made to feel very welcome. Adam was very attentive and made sure our glasses were refilled when required. The food was excellent - especially the curried parsnip soup with onion bhaji, which was to die for!! - we had 5 delicious courses at a very reasonable price and will definitely book again, possibly for one of the many interesting theme nights advertised on their leaflet. Congratulations to all the students and staff. So pleased we found this marvellous restaurant

We booked on line which was very easy to do and to add any requirements.

We had visited the Mulberry before and have always been most impressed. On this occasion we took a friend and her husband as it was her birthday and this was their first visit. As we entered the restaurant we were lead to our table which had a huge birthday balloon rising from the centre and was covered with table decorations. This included a small cake with candles. What a fantastic surprise for her! We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal - three had the beef bourguignon while I had the pork loin. The quality and quantity of all of the dishes was superb.

The food we had at lunchtime was not only beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious especially the delicate plaice fillet and the lemon sponge pudding but well presented by very friendly staff - can’t wait to return -

We had a very good 3 course lunch and frequently have coffee etc. in the cafe. Fantastic value ( where else can you get a latte for under £2?). Staff are attentive and pleasant though a little patience may be needed.

Well what can we say! The quality of the food served by talented students and staff alike blows me away every time I visit. Tonight Jordan managed a fabulous evening and Jamie was the star of the evening demonstrating amazing customer service. If you want to fine dine at an amazing price you should give it a go. I have eaten chef taster menus at three times the costs that have no way near delivered what these guys plate up. Well done!

First time in a while attending one of the themed evenings. The students were all excellent. The quality of service from all was first rate - thank you to Annie who looked after us so well, but to all the staff well done. Visited the Mulberry fine dining restaurant on Wednesday this week. Four couples on the Mardi Gras night! Had a great time with good food and plenty of it, even had a couple of cocktails to wash it all down. All this at a reasonable price. Would recommend trying this out, helping out the trainees, both front and back of restaurant, to gain experience in dealing with customers directly. They all passed with flying colours, well done.

Visted the Mulberry retaurant for a special occassion with family at lunch time. Enjoyed some excellent food which is very good value. I would also like to thank Jamie who was very professional and made us feel welcome. We will be visiting the retaurant again soon.

We visited the Mulberry Restaurant on Thursday for a Valentine Day lunch. It is not the first time we have been and it certainly won't be the last. As always the food was of a very high quality and beautifully cooked and presented. The service was excellent - we were greeted at the door, shown to our table which was decorated with romantic trimmings and our drinks and food order was taken very promptly. All of the staff were most attentive throughout and it's amazing to think that most of them are still students!! Well done to everyone involved - this was a most enjoyable experience.
