The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Servicio muy amable y servicial, gracias, por lo tanto 2 estrellas hasta ahora, pero la comida era decepcionante, no... fue... impactante. Nunca, nunca ordenes su Rarebit galés... nunca. Un poco de pan frío con un luke - untar caliente de queso en la parte superior, apenas asado, ciertamente no ‘cocinado’, sin ensalada lateral, sin nada, solo un poco solitario de pan frío masticable de queso, pobrecita, se veía tan triste. Ok a solo £ 5. 75 que esperaban un almuerzo de 3 estrellas Mich, y sí debería haberme quejado directamente a quien estuviera a cargo, pero en realidad la gente que sirve era encantadora, un crédito para el equipo y no merecía mi decepción. Waitrose, mejor anima a tu Welsh Rarebit o hazte un favor y sácalo del menú.

We booked the hotel randomly, the pictures on the webside pg looks fab but I think they're supose to changed them because the room we got wosn't looks exactly the same I think the pictures they're from the time when the hotel was open .Everything is very old inside and filty we were in the room 2 min the smell was awful !!!Carpet with a lot of stains on it I was afraid to take my shoes a lot of scratches in the wall beside the windows, doors floors cracking, room was stinks!!!!Disgusting place !!I'm not recommended this hotel ,Just disappointed. Many Thanks for the girl in reception to sorted to us the refund she was very nice person..

What can I say apart from avoid! Two young girls served us. After we paid, we noticed they were eating while cooking!! Waited 40 mins with no food, when we asked where the food was, she told us she forgot to cook it!! then told us they had no chicken burgers or chicken nuggets. Surely you should check stock before serving? Mistakes happen of course, but this was problem after problem. The girl was vaping while cleaning around the front. So unhygienic is actually disgusting. Such a shame because the location was lovely. We always walked past and wanted to try it. If trading standards ever arrived they would be shut down instantly. WHO EATS WHILE COOKING AND SERVING FOOD? And to top it off, We didn't even get an apology at all. They both just stood bad mouthing us as we walked away.

We ate here as we were staying in the hotel (Royal lion) for a couple of nights and had a nice meal. We both opted for fish dishes and whilst the menu is not extensive we were both happy with our food and accompanying wine. The menu is reasonably priced compared to some in Lyme Regis and the service was good. The price of restaurants in Lyme seems to have increased significantly since Covid and availability is sometimes limited (staffing seems to be an issue here as with many places). The hotel restaurant used to be located in a large room on the first floor and had a more inventive menu although the room itself was a bit too formal for my taste

This cafe has the best view in Looe, staff are always nice and to have a cuppa and look at the view is something I love to do. Now lets talk about Fish and Chips. Looe has many places but the Fish and Chips served is outstanding. Fresh daily fish, crispy batter and superb chips. I can honestly say this is the best in the area. And of course the amazing view to accompany it. I simply love this little cafe with welcoming staff and great food and drinks. Thank you Beach Cafe.

Bought a ‘giant’ cheese toasted sandwich today. So little cheese I couldn’t taste it. Robbery for what amounted to two pieces of dry toast!

Nice clean pub and rooms. All staff were nice and pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. Good location if you want to go to other sports bars.

Went there with my family for a drink and ordered fish and chips to be shared as we already had our lunch but still spent around 50 pound .we ask a rude lady for extra cutlery she very aggressive said that you are paying for 2 but feeding 4 mouth and I will have extra washing to do ...never heard anything like that. She even took our plates away while we were still eating avoid avoid avoid.

Cakes are all fresh and lovely, Dorset Apple Cake was delicious and a generous portion given. Coffee was good. 2 points to bear in mind….. 1. Don’t forget when ordering your drinks that sugar is not given. I had to go back to the counter and queue for a few minutes only to ask for sugar, they only offered one satchet but I asked for four…….Times must be hard…..lol 2. No cash is allowed, card only. Apart from that it is a nice atmosphere and lovely views outside.

We ordered fish chips took over half hour to come so hoping be nice fresh the fish batter was so hard it was dark so over cooked fish like rubber and dry .... chips where stale like kept warm on hot plate for hours ... safe to say that was worse fish chips I have ever tasted complete waste money and staff are also most miserable people i ever met not helpful at all .. most definitely won't come again I can understand why it was so empty on weekend if that's food they dish up .... new chef required I think !!!!!

Disappointing. I chose jacket potato with prawns; the prawns were OK but the potato was inedible. It was a late lunch (we arrived at 2.00 pm) but the thought is that if jackets are still being offered then the time they are bought is irrelevant. The very friendly male assistant gave me a refund but that's neither here nor there. As my previous reviews for meals elsewhere will testify I am not a serial complainer.....

Better Chinese than imagined! I had the beef in black bean sauce, was tasty and generous portions. Will go again definitely!

Avoid this place. I am amazed with the positive reviews. Clearly, the owner hates his job. Is short and rude. We ordered two drinks and we were told ' is that all' We could not pay our drinks by card, it had to be cash. We left, it felt like we were a big burden as customers.

Nos alojamos una noche. Desayunamos. Tanto la habitación como el desayuno eran increíbles. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar...

A better than average spoons. Good beer and a knowledgeable barman who knew about the ales on offer. Only downside was the unofficial queuing system. It has a large bar but it appears you can get served from one side of it leading to a queue.
