Went there with my family for a drink and ordered fish and chips to be shared as we already had our lunch but still spent around 50 pound .we ask a rude lady for extra cutlery she very aggressive said that you are paying for 2 but feeding 4 mouth and I will have extra washing to do ...never heard anything like that. She even took our plates away while we were still eating avoid avoid avoid.

We turned up here at about 6:50 on Saturday evening. The pub was fairly quiet (1/3 full) and we ordered food from a fairly pleasant young lady behind the bar. We took our drinks to a table and waited. And waited. And waited. Food was so slow to appear that after 50 minutes we gave up. We had watched the only meal we saw served in that time, to the adjacent table, turn up individually with a gap between each diner’s meal. The table next to us, who were in before us, were also becoming annoyed at the delay and complaining. The food we saw looked good but the service was far, far too slow. We explained when we paid for our drinks that we had waited a long time for our food but no reason was given for the delay.

Stunning views, with lovely walks all around. Was staying in the area and after a long walk we wanted food - we were hungry hungry hungry. Lovely staff, food arrived well presented and fast (which we needed as I said before, we were hungry) and to top it off the puddings were great and again a nice sized portion. After feeding, drinking and generally resting we were ready to set off again. Would definitely stop for food again, whether in the area for walking or just meandering through. Very happy :-):-) :-)

We took shelter in The Bull Inn on a Monday evening on the first night of a coast path walk from Weymouth to Exmouth. It was raining heavily outside, and the owners opened up the pub early so we could shelter in one of their rooms. Hospitality and welcome were warm and friendly. The owners even did some drying of our clothes for us. Excellent breakfast, helpful local knowledge and a comfortable night sleep.

We were camping locally and fancied a hot roast dinner on Sunday but needed to be dog friendly. Found this online. Headed over as not sure on serving times. Popped in and it was only from noon until 2pm. Took ages for then to come to the bar. But ordered our drinks and took our dinner ticket. They then allocated us to collect our food. Attitude of the bar staff was a bit coarse but lady serving food was friendly enough. Food was very good. Can’t fault that. Could help yourself too and for a fab price. Food made up for the slow entrance.

A scruffy place, not the most pleasant place to walk into and certainly not the smartest of staff behind the bar. We ate Sunday lunch as we couldn't be bothered to go anywhere else. That was it's saving grace for in the room at the rear was a very pleasant and helpful lady (who may have been the chef as well) attending a carvery. This was very tasty with a good selection and reasonably priced. Shame about the rest of the place.

We stayed at West Bexington and decided to call in to this nearby pub. We couldn't wait to leave! The wine was cheap and vile. The pub was dirty, with very dusty coppers adorning one wall and dirty decor throughout; the whole place is in urgent need of a good clean and a complete re-furb. It wasn't old charm, just thoroughly tired, old fashioned and grubby.

La casera era grosero y parecía sorprendido cuando no quieras el único vino blanco que ella tenía. La comida era sosa aunque fresca como llegamos temprano. We stopped here on the way back to Weymouth May 2016 - Saturday - although the food took 15 mins - when you are hungry feels like longer than anticipated - but I can assure you it was well worth the wait - 2 steaks and 2 home made steak and mushroom pies - the meat melted in your mouth - the waitress did explain that all the food is freshly cooked on the premises! We then had a lemon Sundae - wow all I can say is well worth a try - you could even make this shared for 2 - well done the BULL Exceptional!!! Well worth a visit!!!

We stopped here on our journey, the pub is still a good place, the staff are polite and helpful, good car park, but that's where it ends, I ordered the burger, my wife had a curry, my burger pate was loaded with onion and served in a stale roll, the coleslaw was not good either, the chips were strange and not to my liking, my wife's curry was ok but no better than a microwave meal, a real shame as the location of The Bull Inn makes it a good earner but the menu and food needs to be sorted out, come on The Bull Inn

We stopped here by chance yesterday lunchtime, hoping for a light lunch and a drink. As it turned out, they were not fully staffed (it being a Monday lunchtime in early May) and could offer only toasted sandwiches, which we declined, but another couple there ordered them, and they looked very good, freshly made and attractively served with a side salad (not mentioned on the menu). My husband had a pint (and then another half) of excellent Ringwood FortyNiner, clearly well kept, and the half-pint was a distinctly generous measure, while I had fresh orange juice and lemonade. The loos (always an important test) were spotless and sweet-smelling, the whole place was clean and peaceful, and the hospitality was very pleasant and welcoming. If we were passing at a weekend, we would have been very happy to sample the Sunday Roast and the attractive range of puddings - so we'll probably be back.

We found the Bull after we had passed through the outstandingly beautiful village of Abbotsbury. The Bull is set back from the road and has good parking and outside seating. Having read the comments on this site we thought carefully about whether to have a meal there but decided we would make up our own minds. Because I have a number of dietary issues I rang The Bull to check they could accommodate me. We wanted the Sunday carvery and I was told that they could certainly help me. We arrived and parked and were shown to our reserved table. Our drinks order was taken immediately and we moved to look at the carvery. On the menu were beef, gammon and turkey, roast and new potatoes, carrots, leeks in cheese sauce and broccoli in a cheese sauce and Yorkshire pudding. To accompany it were gravy, horseradish sauce and redcurrant sauce. I explained that I was unable to eat the vegetables with the cheese sauce and the chef arranged for vegetables to be cooked specially for me. Between us we had all of the meats on the carvery. These were carved specially for each of us according to how we liked it. Thin slices, thick slices. The beef was amazing. In every other carvery we have been to, the beef is rolled and usually fair dry. The beef at The Bull was cooked medium rare and therefore was absolutely delicious and tasted exactly how it should taste. The meat was moist and red and "melted in the mouth". The vegetables were also excellent. Although we didn't have a dessert - no room left - we saw beautiful sundaes being delivered and devoured. Lots of happy faces. The Bull is an old fashioned pub/restaurant slightly quaint but comfortable. The waitress was charming and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our experience there and will definitely return.

Whilst travelling the road from Bridport to Weymouth one Saturday, one evening this summer, we were looking for some where to eat. The Bull Inn was lit outside but as the building was so dark we were not sure if it was open but it turned out that it was. We were greeted by the pleasant and personable Fiona and shown to a table. The pub was far from busy and the meals that we ordered were not exceptional, just two steaks and a gammon steak. Whilst waiting for our meal I surveyed the premises and the reason it looked so dark from outside was immediately apparent, it was dark. The bar and restaurant were dimly lit and the side rooms were not lit at all giving the impression of depressing shabbiness. WHEN our meal arrived I have to admit that they were delicious but I capitalised the "when" because the wait was over 45 minutes for three simple meals. The table service was good but should have been as the serving staff were most certainly not under pressure. All in all a pub in a prime position ruined by apparent penny-pinching on lighting and inefficiency in the kitchen.

Having so much enjoyed this pub, several years ago, a return visit seemed a good idea. How wrong. The interior is dire in layout and presentation. Being unable to attract any bar service or attention, we realised that the empty premises (lunch time) was indicative of the opinion held locally and we hastily retreated.Rather sad for us, but some reviewers seem to have experienced better than we did.Later we met another couple who advised that they had tried a meal the previous day and had no intention to return. It is astonishing that a business can be presented in this way when it's location could be a goldmine, if warm welcome, efficient service, cleanliness and appealing menu could bring rewards.

We were looking for a dog friendly pub to eat at locally and our friend had been in The Bull and seen other dogs in there, so we decided to go there. The pub was totally empty and within seconds a very large bulldog (or that type of dog) appeared and suddenly attacked our small dog. We screamed for help but nobody appeared and eventually we escaped out the door. My partner was bitten and so was our dog. When the female bar person arrived, she blamed us for taking the dog into the pub without asking, but we already knew dogs were allowed and saw no sign saying otherwise. A male from the doorway to the flat behind then verbally abused a member of our party. We have chosen not to press charges as the dogs my well be destroyed and it was not their fault. However, we are awaiting to see if my partner’s and dogs wounds get infected and out dog is now also terrified of other dogs. If you are timid of dogs, have a dog yourself or even small children, beware when going into this pub. (There will now be a comment below stating it isn’t their fault and they were not liable and it was our fault for going into a country pub that we know has accepted dogs…with small and timid dog!)

I have to admit that I had read the reviews of this pub before I visited and some had put me off. It just goes to show that you should make your own judgments. We called in after walking the 17 miles between West Bex and Osmington Mills on a high after a great day's walking. THOUGHT it looked OK but knew we were kidding ourselves when most of the place was in darkness with only three locals at the bar. The friendly landlady told us that there were no specials - 'not worth having them' - charged £10.95 for a chicken burger and chips then had the cheek to moan because we were using 2 pence worth of electricity to charge a phone. 'Should have asked' she said, yeah right we might have done but she had gone off to be 'chef' leaving one of the patrons to doulble up as barman so who do we ask? Some places can get away with it out of high season; this one can't.

We called into The Bull Inn on our way back to weymouth from a lovely afternoon out in Lyme Regis in the hope to have a drink and something to eat ! To be greeted by who we assume was the landlady who was very abrupt and rude. Her first words were we are closed but you can have a drink and sit outside and they we're reopening in an hour when the Carvery would start again, but after she was extremely rude to me and my 3 year old son (who is well behaved) I said if my son was going to be an issue then we will leave and take our money elsewhere, and after reading other reviews it sounds like we had a lucky escape !!We carried on back to Weymouth and stopped at another pub called The Kings Arms they couldn't have been more welcoming lovely pub friendly staff and very child friendly would recommend.

I could not even rate this pub a 1 as it is appalling. Went there for a Sunday carvery with the family, it looked nice from the outside. There was only two people working from what I saw, one young girl at the bar and one fairly middle aged man who I think was the owner. When we went up to get our carvery, there wasn't even a chef just the man behind the bar. The turkey he told us was cold because normally it's dry and he thought keeping it cold would be better, he told the people in front of us that he would try and cut around the gristle of the beef and he was hacking at the meat with one hand. There was no green veg just carrots and the plates were tiny for the price. We should have been paid to even eat it not have paid for the carvery! No wonder there was only two other tables eating at the same time as us. If you want a nice carvery then do not go here.

We came to this pub for a family meal, we ordered 6 meals (as a group together).First there was a faff about how they could work the till, no wine list as it had 'gone missing' but still we ordered food.... the first two meals turned up 45 minutes later.... alone, not accompanied by the side we ordered. One of them was the wrong meal (chicken burger not peri peri chicken burger. This meal was taken back and we were told it would have to be recooked, which took a further 20 minutes. Third meal arrived after another five minutes, which seemed ok, although very over cooked and dry and again the side order still had not arrived. we were then asked again if we were expecting more food.... which was obvious... another 4 meals due.....and sides. then a cider was brought to the table (which we hadn't ordered) it was for a adjacent table. at this point one of our party went to complain because the food hadn't arrived no apology was offered they said it was because the food was rung through the till wrong and the other meals would follow. Eventually they arrived. The sides arrived once the first two main meals had been eaten but they were black completely black, when the waitress returned with re cooked second meal we asked her to take them away (they were in edible) *still no apology* and the poor young girl even said oh but i dont know if these onion rings are part of the mains that havent arrived or the side you will have to wait and see . The second chicken burger arrived but was completely pink in the middle and clearly under cooked, again we went to complain, and again no apology and the excuse this time was that the pink gooey centre must be a 'blood vessel' and that it was 'cooked to the right' temperature..... so essentially they refused to change the meal even though it was clearly uncooked. finally over 1.5hrs after we arrived the second meal came and was ok but again under cooked (being scollops) this was concerning. after all of this we went to pay still no apologies, the cider we hadnt ordered was on the bill. *sigh* complete shambles from start to finish even when they cleared the plates they asked if everything was ok, we said no and all the response was 'oh ok' then they walked off! Never been anywhere so awful. Each time we complained they sent out a young girl (no more than 16yrs old) to deal with us absolute sham. i will be contacting the local environmental health officer

Visited the Fun Factory on a rainy day with my baby. To book in, other children in the waiting area were running into his pram. The gates were hard to open. Upon arrival, we were told, that the only available tables were upstairs and there was no lift! I had to carry the baby and pram up the stairs. Walking through the downstairs department was like trying to run through a jungle. We finally got to our table which was covered in what looked like chewed food and saliva and all over the chairs too. I am aware that soft play areas are noisy but this was more than that. I took the baby down to play in the under 3's section which was a tiny cage. There weren't many activities for him to play with. The baby mirror in there was dirty, the ball pit was over crowded. To get on the slide, it was a climb and with a baby, it proves impossible. Older children were coming in the baby section and scaring him and leaving the gate open which I was furious about. The sensory toys were broken. A 7 year old girl was in there throwing balls at him too and I had a go at her mum and told them to get out. I told a member of staff and they did nothing about it. He also had some lunch there which looked cheap and processed. You could literally see the fat dripping off it. You are apparently allowed to take the babies in the older children's play area but I was straight away put off when i saw the filth on some of the children's socks and the rate they were running around! In order to make this a better place you really need to add a lift, make a better play area for babies, get friendlier and more helpful staff, healthier food, clean the place and maybe even give it a revamp, buy more toys for the baby area and in general make it more appealing. Until Fun Factory up their game, I'm certainly not going back. Unless you want your babies to have a day of being in the worst play area of all time, don't come here!
