We go to the Towers frequently for a lunch stop. We find the lattes very weak,so today we asked for a extra shot, which made a great difference, but the downside was,we were charged an extra £1.40 per cup.

This is a review for the Towers Tea Room (waitress service) and not the Staple Hill Servery (both in the same building at Trago). Great cakes and coffee on offer, although they have changed the coffee supplier recently and therefore the lattes are not as strong as they used to be. Clean and relaxing area. Lovely staff who do care that they do a good job and are attentive and listen well

Poor & confusing set up where you basically do everything yourself whilst the mostly female staff stand around doing nothing. The food is of the worst quality with tiny portions & has been sat around going cold. I really don't know how anyone can make such a bad job of such a basic menu?! I will never go there again & wouldn't recommend anybody I know to go there either. Disgraceful!

We had excellent service. The staff are particularly helpful and friendly. The food was great and so was the price. Cannot fault our experience. Highly recommended.

This was the first restaurant in this Trago Mills complex that we tried. It was a chilly day and so we ordered their pies with one portion of chips to share, a latte and a cappuccino. The restaurant is large and airy and pleasant. The staff were very friendly and polite. However, I did not enjoy my pie very much. All the crust had gone rock hard (microwaved most likely). My husband's pie had not gone quite so hard and so he enjoyed it more than I did. The chips were not particularly good, tasted like oven chips do. The latte and cappuccino were very nice. The food is very inexpensive.

Great lattes, this is a waiter service version of the cafe on the floor below, so don't get them mixed up prices are higher and they serve similar items but very limited on choice. Great views fro the windows and more relaxing than the self service cafe below

I'm surprised by the negative reviews of this restaurant. The staff are excellent, the food is very good value for money and the restaurant clean and spacious. The waiting staff are only too pleased to help and are very polite. The jacket potatoes are a good choice but look out for specials.

Popped into the Towers after shopping at Trago Mills. We have pot of tea for two and Ham and Cheese Panini and tuna sandwich. Food was reasonable price and staff very friendly and did not rush you.

Stopped for lunch after shopping due to convenient location. Restaurant clean and staff friendly, but service slow. Food good but standards definitely slipping from previous visits

We went to the top restaurant for a pot of tea and a toasted teacake each. Very good value and friendly waitress service. Tea cakes were very good and wholemeal flour too which was a pleasant surprise and decent quality tea. The ambiance was very good especially at the price.

Went in for a late lunch on Sunday after shopping. I asked for a pasty, but there were none left. Ditto baguettes. OK, I'll try the mackerel salad. No mackerel either. The waitress was apologetic, explaining that they were always running out on Sundays. Really?? If that's the case surely it would be sensible to have a bit more to hand? (Thinking about it, it takes incompetence to a whole new level to regularly run out of something as mundane as pasties.) Settled on a panini from the very limited offering. It took a long time to arrive (they weren't at all busy - only half a dozen tables occupied) and when it did it was distinctly uninspiring; the ham was as tough as old boots, either overdone or been hanging around for a long time. One of our party (there were six of us) had ordered a cream tea which never put in an appearance - we had it knocked off the bill when we paid. The only reason it gets two "stars" rather than rock bottom is because the coffee wasn't bad (even if the waitress didn't know which was coffee and which was hot chocolate - we had to taste them to find out) and was relatively inexpensive. We opted to eat there for convenience; I really wish we'd gone elsewhere. We'll know next time....

A clean comfortable restaurant offering a varied menu (jacket potatoes, soup, sandwiches, Paninis etc) including a children's lunch box. Service a little slow, but food excellent and very good value for money.

Trago Mills is a great shopping and entertainment area on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.Right in the middle is The Tower restaurant which on one side has tremendous views over the very large and colourful garden centre. Great coffee here for under £1.60 a cup with matching prices for savouries, cakes etc.It is all of good quality and excellent value compared to similar places in the surrounding area.Very friendly service too.Well worth a visit if you are shopping for a bargain at Trago or if you happen to be in the area for any reason.

... Ahora, de vuelta a la zona comercial.

I have been to The Dolphin Inn several times now and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. There are homemade traditional pies and roasts offered on Sundays, and bar snacks during the week. I had forgotten my scarf and Sam had very kindly looked after it for me. I wish them a very happy and successful 2020!

Amazing level of service from one of the ladies at The Ridge Café. I want to thank the member of staff who offered and brought out to the car park, our order to me and my two rescue dogs, one of which, new to us, is very nervous following traumatic times in recent years. It was raining but this lady absolutely wanted to do it, and the dogs were able to meet her - one was enthusiastic and the new boy just looked puzzled, probably wondering who was so kind to bring out this meal to us. It was great, gentle, exposure for ‘new boy’ and a highlight for me too. I’m sorry that I don’t have the lady’s name but she was so good, thank you!

My friend and I lunch here most Mondays usually having fish and chips with the best french fries I have had. The fish is delicious with thin crispy batter. I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness, and attention to detail which makes it a pleasure to go there

We was on a pub tour of the area and passed this on a way to another pub and thought “oh this looks quaint” sometimes the most impromptu pubs are the best and this one certainly is! Four ales were on draft we opted for the salcombe gold Which was excellently kept. I loved the laid back atmosphere with dog friendly sofas. They have a beautiful boxer dog named boots who greets you on arrival who is loving in nature with people and dogs. Very chilled and dog friendly and I will certainly visit again and stay for longer when I’m next in the area. Whatpub online does not hype this place is much as it should.

We brought our grandson here after visiting the castle. he had the child's chicken and skinny chips plus juice whilst us adults enjoyed tea, and the fish dishes of the day. All was attractively served without having long to wait. Sensible prices which made our meals good value. Plenty of choice on the menu. Ample parking adjacent to the farm shop & cafe.
