Beautiful little town and the most friendly and warm staff make this an awesome place to warm up with some good old English classics. The beef and ale pie as well as fish and chips were both winners as well as the pulled pork. Lots of veg on the plate as well so you don't feel guilty.

Advice for tourists visiting Castle Combe: avoid this place! My friends and I wanted to have lunch at this pub on Sat. We went in and waited for 10 mins to see if we could get seated. As no one came, I went up to the bar and said hi to the waiter 3 times, he completely ignored me. After a while, another waiter stared at me blankly, handed me a menu and said “you need to order at the bar”. My friends and I looked at each other and left. We went to Castle Inn, which is 1 min away and had a great lunch with impeccable service.

Extremely bad customer service. We felt very unwelcome after being glared at and quite clearly being spoken about by the couple behind the bar! The woman even rolled her eyes.. I’m confused as to why they would work in a pub in a touristy place when they quite clearly do not enjoy interacting with the public. Very strange and uncomfortable visit! Wouldn’t recommend going here unless there was different staff on!

This was our second visit to The White Hart, now a Wadworth pub, in the heart of Castle Combe across from the Market Cross. It was a busy Sunday, so it was pretty busy. We were seated in a front room; the main room near the bar would be the preferred area to sit, but it was full. You order your food and drink from the bar; the two bartenders take your order, and your food is brought to you. There is a standard menu with mostly sandwiches of the typical type….tuna, egg, ham, etc; but they also have daily posted specials. The tomato and basil soup was tasty, and a nice portion; and the steak and ale pie was tasty with good veggies…carrot slices, brocolli and cauliflower, all cooked nicely; the mashed potatoes were a bit stiff…not enough butter! So for a pint and a fairly quick lunch, it worked just fine. We had fond memories of the place from our last visit years ago when it was perhaps a little quieter at the time.

Extremely rude woman who worked behind the bar. A beer glass was accidentally knocked off the table by a bag, it fell and shattered under an outdoor table. We apologised to her for the accident, she rolled her eyes & was obviously annoyed and told my friend and I that we shouldn’t drink during the day (it was 4:30pm and was our first beer!). This has tainted our visit to this quaint town of Castle Combe. She clearly should not be working in a pub nor the hospitality industry… nor does she realise that patrons to her establishment keep her employed and or in business. I wouldn’t even give the place 1 star. Furthermore not the cleanest pub I’ve frequented. .

The host couple was a bit reserved at first, but after the second visit and a few kind words they immediately thawed out 🙂. Typically English, cozy pub that has existed for centuries. The food is very tasty and the Haddock is highly recommended. Our favorite restaurant during our stay here.

Barman was unpleasant. The place smelt bad.

A great place for our group cycle lunch spot. Cycling from Bristol centre, we were well looked after in the rear garden. We've been before, we'll be back ! :-)

When I was walking toward the entrance of this establishment (if you could call it that) an English man was arguing with a lady packing stuff in their car. I had naturally assumed the man was a patron (who was dressed like a eshay in Bali) but he blocked my path at the entrance when I tried to enter he yelled "that would be a no, that would be a no, that would be a no" while not making any eye contact with me or my family (my 12 year old son also present). I asked him if he was talking to us and he failed to reply and ignored us. Safe to say we did not spend our money there. Perhaps he should simply update the signage at the door to simply say "No customers, that would be a NO".

The food is great here and the atmosphere is very cosy and welcoming. Best quiche and fish and chips I’ve had in a while. The curry is amazing too. And it’s dog friendly. As far as the owners, a lot of folks have complained how rude they are. I didn’t find they were rude. I felt like they were trying to run a pub in a small village that is overcome with every tourist nationality you can imagine. And many of these people are quite rude themselves. So give this place a try but also don’t expect the staff to be your best friend. But you can expect great food and a nice pint.

Castle Combe is a charming little town and we stopped in at the White Hart on a rainy afternoon. We arrived just before opening and a few others joined the line. We had a very traditional pub experience which is just what we were looking for (although I think we did not know this initially, we were just very hungry). A caveat to any folks that are thinking of visiting the town; this is not a tourist site--it is a real town. The White Hart struck us as a real, local pub that has its own atmosphere and way of being and doing things; this worked for us once we got the hang of it but I acknowledge this might not be everyone's 'cup of tea' if you are looking for something that revolves around tourists or a table service restaurant. Having said that it took us a moment of confusion ('cause we are tourists) to understand how things work (take a table that seats the number of people you have, order drinks and food at the bar and let them know where you are sitting so they can bring the food to you) and to get the way of being, but after this experience we were very prepared for future pub visits. The interior of the pub is classic (we saw outside seating as well) and the experience was authentic and traditional; we set in the bar room so we were in amongst the action. We got a couple of pints and then our food was brought to our table (jacket potato and the ploughman); the cheese was great and the amount provided was generous. There was a nice salad on the side and the chutney with the ploughman was delicious.

After long hours of driving, we were all hungry and happy to see a pub opened and many seats empty. I was with my children and asked for a meal, and all he said was ‘no’. I was so embarrassed and just walked out, explaining kids that he might be closing soon. After reading many reviews, now I know why. Shame on you old man.

Absolute p.r.i.c.k of a bartender, so rude. I asked (I thought very kindly with a smile) how large their portion of cheesy chips are. I simply wanted to know whether to buy one or two portions for my mum and I as we don’t eat much. He responded with “it’s just a bowl of chips” and walked away. When he came back I apologised and asked again using my hands to indicate a size (I don’t know how large their bowls are) he proceeded to mock me and waved his hands about then shake his head and say again “it’s just a single serving of chips” Needless to say we left without ordering anything.

This traditional pub situated in the centre of the village is ideal for a mid-day break. Friendly welcoming staff, a good menu, well prepared and presented food and no long wait. Surroundings are what you would expect in an old Inn, sensible furnishings no piped music and outside rear garden, meals ere reasonably priced as is the ale

Castle Combe Incredibly Rude - This place should shut down 963442811 Avoid this place; my experience was awful due to the racist and rude behaviour of the owners. The woman slammed the door in my face, claiming they had no coffee, while serving it to English customers. She and her husband also refused service to some Asian girls, citing a cash-only policy, even though English customers were paying by card. This blatant discrimination happened right in front of everyone. Shameless! They should be shut down completely.

Oh my goodness! I came on here because I was so outraged by the service of the barman this lunchtime. I did not necessarily expect to see all these bad reviews but boy, I am not surprised at all. We were a group of four, waiting by bar to be served. The barman eventually looked at us and asked if we were looking to order food, to which we replied, “yes please”. He said, without looking at us, there will be a long wait for food, which he repeated 3 times. Okay, not necessarily a problem for us, we asked how long, approximately. He replied with “a long wait”, my husband then said 30 mins, 1 hour and he replied, still without looking at us, “it will come when it’s ready!” we just walked out. Why, on this planet, is he in customer service?

Gorgeous, inexpensive lunch in a beautiful location. Lovely staff and nice beer garden out back.

Best sandwich I’ve had in a very long time

Worst service ever!! The man behind the bar is outright rude after waiting 20min to take our order and being talked very rudely we decided to leave. To avoid at any cost!

Incredibly rude and sarcastic staff- you would think in a tourist area the staff would be kind, friendly, and welcoming of any business. Safe to say that I've never experienced service like this ever. We were essentially refused our food order, with the comment ‘Is that all’ upon ordering (some sides after ordering drinks), and then told to pay with cash after we presented our card for payment - It was obvious we had no cash, and we had previously payed with card so didnt expect this. The barman also spoke in a mocking and sarcastic tone throughout so this made us wary. Confused about this situation and curious, we listened when the next customers also ordered food and interestingly, they were given the option of paying with card or cash- we were not. It seems they must have ordered a satisfactory amount for the barman. The card machine was fully visible, and working, as we had bought drinks using the same card machine just minutes earlier. We couldn't believe this had happened, and thought it was incredibly rude and unprofessional. After reading the reviews I'm shocked that this has happened to many others. This is a beautiful village and it is a shame we had this experience.

I didn't read the numerous bad reviews until we were already sitting in the restaurant. For this reason, I wanted to test the staff and complained that the beer was too warm, whereupon they kindly explained to me that it was a draft beer, which was not as cool as another - as a solution I was offered ice cubes. The food was also absolutely fine in terms of price-performance ratio.

Racist, rude and I cannot believe a place like this still exists in our day and age. The best thing anyone could do is not go here.

The owner seems to be really unhappy about tourists in the village. Should have told us before we get in. :) We wouldn't have to face their rude and unpleasant attitude then.

Rude female bartender, makes it seem like she's doing a favour by providing the drinks. If you want a beer with a shot of racism, this is the perfect place.

Outrageously rude, racist, and ignorant. This is a zero star review. Had a less than pleasant encounter with the “people” who I assume run the place. We park perfectly legally outside the pub before a man rushes out, swearing aggressively and making gestures to tell us that the car is parked in a “disabled” parking space. At the same time, a traffic warden from the Wiltshire Council arrives and the man shouts at her and demands her to give us a ticket. We move to look for another parking spot, thinking that his but a member of the party gets out of the car to talk to the warden. She says that our car was indeed parked perfectly legally and that the man has fabricated the “disabled parking spot”, potentially to protect his own car behind which itself was parked very poorly. We proceed to park the car in the spot which we have now determined to be OK, under the supervision of the warden. When he storms out again, this time bringing his wife as reinforcement, the warden explains that she can’t give us a ticket as we haven’t parked illegally. He resorts to whipping his phone out to record the warden so that he can “report” her. Obviously this makes her uncomfortable but she willingly shows him her badge number as she is confident that her judgment is correct. He continues to harass my entire family, calling my Asian father “just a taxi driver” and that he “isn’t welcome here”. We would have moved had he asked politely and not lied about the disabled spot, but his decision to be both rude and a liar is entirely unacceptable and we did not want him to get away with it. Looking at other reviews, you can come to the conclusion that the pub is racist and intolerant of visitors, particularly Asians, which explains a lot. If you find yourself in this wonderful village, stay clear of these vile people and their business.

If you are visiting castle Coombs, don't bother going here. We walked in yesterday asking if they serve lunch(my wife and father in law )- they were rude and unwelcoming. It felt like they really didn't want us there. This is supposed to be a tourist town, if you don't want tourists in may be you should put a board up.

The food is ‘ok’ People are lovely and service is prompt and with a smile, but the food isn’t anything special. The mushroom starter is warmed in the microwave, warm in the middle and colder on the outside, but it fills a hole and does what it sense on the tin.

Really warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar (30/06/2024) and great service from Eric who was a consummate professional who needs commendation ! See you all again soon.

Dry fries( almost burns) , expensive , no parking !

Visited this place today to use their toilet and I did see the sign saying that the toilet is only for paid customers. My mum and I couldn't wait and went for the toilet first before anything else. After which I went to the bar and checked out the menu on the board. The lady asked for my order and I said I'm checking out the menu and she rudely replied that they are not serving food. And before I could order any drinks, my tour mate came in and ordered a drink and I was frantically asking him where is the meeting point. (Note: There's no signage around the area nor any network connection). He doesn't know and I thought of quickly checking out with another mate who's at the church. I then told the lady to wait as I needed to check with my friend at the church and she was so fumed and showed me the sign that the use of their toilet is only for paid customers. And that we dashed in for the toilet without ordering anything! I said I'm aware and I will be back shortly. She waited for me outside her restaurant and eye power me to make sure I come back to buy from her. I only bought a bottle of water as I'm rushing for time and very upset with the service. This is really uncalled for and I felt insulted. From the day I arrived in London till now, I do purchase something from the cafes for using their toilet even though they do not have such signs on toilet use. They even direct us to the toilet without expecting/imposing us to purchase anything. I was impressed and amazed. For this pub, if I do not intend to buy from her, I wouldn't have gone to the bar to check out the menu. I thought it was just me (Asian) that she's upset with, but after checking out the reviews, it is good to know this is the kind of lousy service from this pub. Avoid at all costs!

Would give it zero stars if I could. Not sure why the owners still run a pub as they have zero interest in hospitality. Every paying customer should be treated well regardless of whether they are ordering multiple drinks or not. 21 June 2024 RACIST, RUDE, AND PREJUDICED EXPERIENCE AT THE PUB We arrived at the pub just as it opened and cheerfully asked the female staff member for coffee. Standing at the door, she rudely informed us that no coffee was served on these premises. We were quite taken aback, as we had previously enjoyed coffee and lunch at this very establishment. The woman stood at the door, preventing us from entering, and insisted that if we wanted coffee, we would need to go to a coffee shop a few doors down. I asked if we could have lunch, and only then were we allowed inside. Once seated, we ordered lunch and noticed several white patrons ordering and being served coffee by the man at the counter without any issues. When I asked why coffee was now available despite being told otherwise, I received no explanation. However, I was served a cup, and my card was taken for payment. About 10 minutes later, an Asian lady ordered a Ploughman's lunch and attempted to pay with her card. The same man at the bar told her that they only accepted cash at this pub. This was a blatant lie, as I had just paid using my credit card, as had many others. Both the lady and I were astonished by this discriminatory treatment. I am appalled that in this day and age, such blatantly racist and prejudiced behaviour is still tolerated in businesses that serve a diverse public. It is unacceptable for people to be treated differently based on the colour of their skin. This kind of conduct must not be allowed to continue.

With its beamed ceilings, fireplaces, and stone floors, the White Hart is your quintessential old English pub. Local or one of the many tourists, you will find a warm welcome, even if, like me, you are a teddy bear! Mummy's tomato juice was under the minimum card payment amount, and she didn't have enough cash. However, the lovely landlord gave her a tomato juice anyway, and we shared it. The pub is dog friendly and is in the center of the pretty village of Castle Combe. Definitely pop in for a drink or bite to eat if checking out the village. Say a teddy bear sent you!

If it was possible to leave no stars I would. Such rude staff who think it’s acceptable to speak to potential customers like they are dirt - and without cause to. It appears visitors and their custom are not welcome. Head over to the lovely Castle Inn across the road instead who could not be more welcoming in they tried.

The gentleman behind the bar was amenable and caring of the work he did. He helped where he could and was knowledgeable about the menu. He was able to guide the wide variety of tourists to select the food they wanted in English only. The food hit the spot, decent taste and decent portions for the price. This place gets a lot of tourists from all nationalities. Be prepared to wait for those who aren’t familiar with English customs or don’t understand the language terribly well. I would suggest bringing some cash as there is a minimum card spend of around £6. There are a lot of reviews saying the staff are rude but this I would say this is frustration more than anything. The staff have to deal with a lot of people who don’t know English customs, can’t speak the language entirely and go through a lot of faff when paying (foreign cards, only large notes). The coffee there is also good, better than a lot of standard coffee from pubs. The milk used had a sweet creaminess to it. The pub is also dog friendly. I stumbled upon this place whilst exploring, I didn’t stay in the hotel.

Me and my partner had lunch here today out of morbid curiosity to see if the service was as bad as described in other reviews. Shocker: it was. The lady behind the bar was incredibly rude and didn't seem to want anything to do with anyone. The barman made some weird under his breath comments when dealing with other customers also. The food was completely unseasoned (chilli and pie) and we both felt unwell after it. Listen to the reviews kids and go to the castle inn across the road instead!

We decided to have lunch here while visiting Castle Coombe. The place was fairly busy for midweek, this is probably because there's a lack of other places to chose from in the area. Greeting from the man behind the bar was non existent and not welcoming at all….but he eventually took our food order and then we found a table to sit at. The table was so horribly sticky, it hadn’t been wiped done properly, we were about to change but found the other tables were the same. Our food came very quickly, I ordered the tomato soup which was a readymade soup and didn’t taste nice, however the bread that came with was nice and fresh. We went to the bar to settle the bill and there was not even a smile or a thank you. Caste Coombe is a very charming medieval village but places like this, which in theory should add to the charm of the village, sadly this pub did not. I echo some of the previous reviews, grumpy and not friendly. Maybe they are just complacent. I would not recommend.

Nice pub - rude staff. Made getting a tap water incredibly difficult, even when ordering a large order of food and drink. Given in a plastic cup! Slight xenophobic atmosphere when dealing with tourists.

Consistently rude and insulting bar staff. I was embarrassed to have brought guests from out of the country there and will never go back. I’ve had dinner there with friends and have been in for a beer 3 times over the last 6 months. Each time the surly staff put me off but the location is nice so I went back. The last time I was there, the bar staff was so shockingly insulting towards us, we left the beer on the table and walked out. I will never go there again. I live in the area and there are too many nice people working at other pubs who deserve my business.

Lovely old pub in the picturesque village of Castle Combe. Small but well formed, it makes the most of it's space with seating inside, under an extension and in a terraced garden. Good beers, good food and friendly staff.

Had a lovely home cooked lunch at this cosy pub in the heart of the village. Great welcome from the very friendly landlord and landlady. Will definitely return!

Walk-in pub restaurant serving very tasty home cooked food. Steak & Ale pie on the Specials board was delicious. Good service, great little stop in this beautiful little village.

Not sure what’s wrong with the owners and staff, perhaps something dodgy in the tap water that they’re drinking hence why they won’t share it with anyone else 😕. They could definitely do with some cheering up

Extremely rude and violent owners. I came in to order a drink. I witnessed the male bartender forcefully leading a tourist to the bar to order something while he waited for a friend who was using the toilet. When the tourist refused to order anything, he was forced outside and the owner started yelling at him about the toilets being for customer use only despite him not even using the toilet. This escalated with the bartender then grabbing the tourist and proceeding to assault him, and a fight broke out between them which the female bar owner later joined as well. These people are an absolute disgrace and should be in prison instead of Castle Combe.

Absolutely rude service - asked them to book Sunday lunch and were refused. Next day asked for a menu or to pay by card and was told “not for you” . Would not recommend at all and stay steer clear.

Despicably poor service and extremely rude staff. Especially the tall male bartender. Asked for a taster of a local cask ale - refused. Asked to pay for a half pint by card - refused and mocked. Asked to book a lunch - refused. Bartender then offered a taster to another white male. Enough said. Pub across the road called ‘The Castle Inn’ is far more pleasant. Don’t waste your money here.

Very rude staff, i went in this restaurant with my children today, the old man shouted at us as we were going in the toilet, no manners at all.He was shouting that we cannot used the toilet as we have not ordered our food yet, I said that we are eating in but were so desperate for the toilet but he continued to shout at us,"Oy, get out!You cant use the toilet!" My children had to hold their bladders because of this inconsiderate man! The food was horrible, the sandwiches were absolutely disgusting, the chips were as hard as rocks.Please do not come to this place or you will regret, the juice tasted like water,staff ATTITUDE should change! We came from a long journey and we were excited to visit Castle combe, it all change now, I will never come back!Please have some manners especially the old guy by the bar!

The attitude of the front of house staff is appalling. They know you need to eat and know they won't see u again so are happy to be rude. Do yourself a favour and pre book at castle inn pub ahead of time. It's really difficult to hand over money to people who think they can run a business like this. Food is also very average.

Terrible interaction, I would highly avoid. I walked in on a lunch time during an Easter bank holiday, for the village being so busy at this time, I was expecting the pub to be equally as busy. However, after a brief walk around I discovered there was plenty of seating. I approached the bar and spoke to a very unpleasant bartender who didn’t seem interested in greeting me or helping me. When I asked how long the wait time on food was, he proceeded to carry on finishing polishing his glass, placed it down, walked over, looked me in the eyes in an intimidating manner and said “they cook it, and when it’s ready, they’ll bring it out”. After I said how unhelpful that is and said goodbye, turned around and walked away, he then shouted through a couple of customers at the bar and said “when it’s ready, it’s ready”. Needless to say that even without eating here it left a bad taste in my mouth. Rude, unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. There are other options in the village that will be more welcoming to serving paying customers.

Great place to have food !! One thing which I loved was that we were really hungry & ordered a few dishes, the man at the counter (most probably he's the owner) insisted that the same would be more then required as his portions are large. However we went ahead with what we ordered, he was spot in, we were wrong. The preparation was really yummy. Tomato & basil soup - the best I had after a long long time, made the way it should be....We are vegetarian & ordered all veg stuff, they were great in taste, the freshness of the veggies & other ingredients like cheese & all was consumed to be believed !! Worth visiting 😊

Wonderful, warm,welcoming and cozy atmosphere. We had great food at a reasonable price. My wife claimed the pastry in her chicken and asparagus pie was the best she has tasted. The steak and ale pies were crammed with juicy beef and my ham hock was juicy and flavourful. We needed the walk afterwards !

Accidentally found our way here, having booked accommodations at a different location and confusing the name. The bartender didn't offer us a drink, but she did point us in the right direction and let us know we weren't the first to make the mistake. I also overheard her whispering words of encouragement under her breath while we figured out directions using Google Maps. I'm not sure I'll be back, but it was a charming village.

We visited The White Hart to see if we could spot the rude lady. Our party of two were unanimous in who we thought it was. However, the gentleman that served us was pleasant and helpful. For that reason, I see no issue in awarding five stars.

We had a nice Sunday lunch here during a visit to Castle Combe. The seating is comfy, the bar area was warm and cosy, and the food was delicious and delivered promptly after ordering even though we arrived right after the pub opened. Wadsworth pubs always have great beer on tap and this was no exception. A great spot to fill up after a countryside walk. I haven't reviewed the rooms because we didn't stay!

Didn’t have food so can’t rate it. We were staying in the Castle Inn for a weekend break and went to the White Hart to watch the England v Wales 6 nations match. The Guinness was outstanding! The room with the TV was cosy. Enjoyed the match with a fellow Welshman who lives in Castle Combe and other locals and (semi locals - holiday homers). Nice friendly atmosphere and people. But here’s the rub. It is clearly they are tourist weary. I didn’t witness rudeness I’ve read about in other reviews, but I could see the potential in the staff to have low tolerance to unsure tourists. And let’s be honest CC is one of Englands most prolific tourist traps. Stunningly gorgeous, but no longer a hidden gem. I can understand local frustration but for businesses, you can’t bite the hand that feeds either. For us a great experience. My photos are from the village. I’ve digitally erased tourists!

This is worth a visit, a real life grumpy couple who make your experience at the time quite miserable however in hindsight the amusement given & story to recant is worth a return to cross swords in this delightful medieval village in which time has stood still for centuries.

It's a nice reprieve from the cold; has nice, working fireplace. More importantly, staff were warm and welcoming. The food we ordered is good for two so it was nice that we actually decided to share. Best of all, it's DELISH! The Broccoli and Cheddar soup is a winner. They also have treats ready for dogs. 🐶🥰

This place doesn't deserve even a single star. Don't ever go there. You will encounter racism and very rude men and women. Phone reception here isn't very good, so I'm sure a lot of people will come back later to write this review. It's so sad.😢

I had lunch here and I was impressed. Sometimes I can find popular tourist destinations don’t go that extra mile as they know they will busy but my food was lovely and it is very cosy.

Decided to go to Castle Comb for the day and stumbled upon this pub looking for some food and drink after walking around the village, the pub is cash only which was a bit of an inconvenience but the staff were very friendly and the burger I ordered was one of the nicest burgers I’ve ever had, 5 stars.

Absolutely the best Beef Stew with dumplings I've ever eaten. And the staff were super friendly.

Worst service, rudest landlady, and landlord not much better. Lady opened the doors at 1200, so punctuality appreciated, but then looked at us like we had spat in her face for even daring to be there. Refused to even say hello. So rude.

Popped in for lunch while staying at the manor house and it was great! Delicious pulled pork plate and mulled cider. Quick service and reasonably priced.

Kicked out for asking for tap water (Along with a pint and two meals). The old guy at the bar was quite rude about it too. Rest of the staff looked embarrassed to be associated with him so I guess he owns the place

The staff at White Hart are incredibly rude. My baby dropped some food on the floor while eating and we were given comments like “I ll give you a brush and pan at the end” and “bloody hell”. Both the man and the women serving have no manners whatsoever. Also when we asked for tap water, the man behind the bar threw his hands up in the air. We were made to feel highly unwelcome. We have never experienced such misbehaviour, specially from someone in the hospitality business.

Pathetically obnoxious owners/staff. Rude, inconsiderate with an idgaf attitude. Never thought I'd be feeling blatant racism but well there we go. Absolutely regret entering this place. Way to ruin ones mood during a beautiful Christmas Day. Not sure how this place is still running with so many negative comments.

We only had an afternoon meal here. Food was nice enough, I had a cheese and gammon ploughman's and my partner had a beef stew. The ploughman's had everything on it, the gammon was a thin slice of ham! The stew only had one dumpling. It was all tasty enough but for the price, could do better but I'm aware all catering places are struggling at the moment so I can half understand.

Utterly racist against French people

A wet and cold visit to this popular village and we were ready for some home comforts i.e a hot meal and a drink. Granted that it was very quiet in the village as a whole so surely we expected a warm welcome for our custom. Not so...upon entering I happened to comment to the landlord how quiet it was in general. He replied..."and it's about to get even quieter...GET OUT!" Charming chap don't you think?

First time at the White Hart, little apprehensive as there were quite a few negatives about staff. For us this wasn’t the case, really friendly at the bar and serving of the lunches which we did enjoy. Food was good, several of us went for the stew and dumplings, tasty but, short on the meat and veg, all of us thought the same. Wouldn’t put us off eating again here though.
