The noodles were sloppy and not consistent with the usual Wetherspoons standard I'm afraid. Otherwise, it's a Wetherspoons and I've visited over 100 so far!!

Thought we would stop here for some lunch not a bad weatherspoons service was quick food was ok i had the BBQ Chicken pizza was ok but dough was very stoggy but did look nice and taste followed by pancakes and ice cream was nice too we went upstairs was very noisy but always expected in these places but otherwise ok

Order confirmed for 20 mins b4 i had to go up and collect drinks just left on side....food came and it was the worst non-tasting bland rubbish..not even salt helped...very understaffed and under trained 1/10...

Saturday 12th April 2025 Today I had a drink in this weatherspoons pub This pub is on the banks of the river Avon not far from the historic Bridge at Chippenham. This pub is a one roomed interior with a good comfortable outdoor drinking area where drinkers can take in the scenic views of the rivers perpetual flows through this scenic town. The downfall today was that there was not a very good range of guest hand pumped ales on, and one of the tills was broken, causing mayhem behind the bar All in all, there are good weather spoons to imbibe on real ales in

Good food at a good price served by nice people.

Made very welcome for a group post-run breakfast. Loads of happy chat, very tasty and generous breakfasts and friendly staff. We’ll be back😀

Today was terrible I will never be coming back and advise you not to waste your time and money here! I get it’s only Wetherspoons and I didn’t go in with the expectations of being perfect or anywhere near great BUT… First of all we ordered our £30 worth of food after choosing to sit at a table that had yet to be cleared. 4 separate times we had staff walk past without an offer to clean or remove previous customers plates sat in front of us! Instead 25-30 minutes later our food comes out and the guy try’s to place our food on the table with basically no room left! (Due to the old plates and glasses still being there) we had to physically ask for our table to be cleared and wiped as if that wasn’t common sense to do before even attempting to give us our food?! Then we began eating… my Tennessee sauce had been sat on the side (before going to our table) that long it had grown a skin on the top and just didn’t taste right! They sorted me a new one Then noticed both of our burgers were wrong, mine had requests for salad to be removed which they ignored and my other half’s asked for only lettuce. The lettuce that she received as inedible - the core of the lettuce (that’s not lettuce!) (I can cope with removing my salad even though I had tomato juice and seeds on my chicken burger - at that point I just winged all the unwanted bits onto the carpet) Next my other half took a couple of bites of her burger and there was a hair found in the burger! We complained and got a new burger meal brought up to us Yet again another hair was found in this meal, in the chips this time! I then decided enough was enough and photographed it as this is valid enough to leave a bad review now. Seconds later I dipped my chip into my sauce and noticed yet another hair on the end of my chip (likely from the sauce pot this time) so I chucked my chip with sauce on to the side for knows where it went (not my problem at this point, care and decency went out the window as you can tell) When taking the photo of the chip with a hair in it, a member of staff walked past and give a big sigh at us (despite having 3 issues with the food so far) I thought this was a ridiculous attitude to have! Not once were we asked if the food was okay after the mess ups only a big moaning sigh after we found YET more valid reasons to complain about our food! So Yes I did wing a chip with sauce on across you’re tables Yes I did chuck tomato seeds and juices on your carpet And yes I did take home one of your bowls to use at home But no I will never be coming back! AVOID AT ALL COSTS TERRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE, NOT SANITARY AND QUITE FRANKLY LAZY TO BE HONEST Oh and ontop of that when we asked for our table to be wiped I wish I never bothered! The pure stench coming from one of the employees armpits made me heave tell your staff to wash more not only the tables but themselves too 🤮

We have just had a fab breakfast at Wetherspoon Chippenham with our running club. A great way to start a Sunday. The service was swift, the venue clean and the food well cooked and very affordable. The coffee was excellent and we all had a throughly good time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a place to meet for breakfast. Thank you to all the staff who made this morning such a success.

This pub doesn't feel like the usual down trodden Wetherspoons. The pub is clean, tidy and family friendly. Staff are polite and friendly and food was simple but nice. The location of the Bridge House pub is spot on, right next to the river with many window tables with a view.

Ordered a chicken breast burger. It arrived and I took it to prices to check for gurkins. Only to find tuna stuck to the bottom of the chicken. I informed the manager (who was just potty trained) about the issue. He seemed as though he had never dealt with an issue before in his life. I said please would you remake my food. By this time my hubby had finished his food. The food was brought out and the chicken breast was cold. Wta. I the asked a young girl to feel the chicken breast and she agreed it was cold. She also had about as much customer service experience of an ingrown toenail. They’re clearly recycling food and not checking the temperature before it leaves the kitchen.

Pleasant but a bit worse for wear Would be better in summer as it has a nice outdoor seating area next to the river

Great service! The manager & lady behind the bar were really welcoming & helpful. Sat eating lunch during a busy lunch time & I believe it's only the two on shift! Really quick service, friendly and welcome x

We do a night out 1 month and always enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the bar staff were really helpful, when one of my colleagues spilt drink over me Molley came to the rescue with blue roll, the young girl behind the bar which was her first night coped really well

After a great game of football with the lads we decided to come to out local wetherspoons and was greeted by the lovely morgan behind the bar. We ordered our drinks and morgan delivered with a smile! We will happily be coming back in the near future!

This is the 1st Time Visiting this Place in Chippenham.Went here for a Warm Drink as it was a Little Cold Outside.Lovely Atmosphere and the Staff was Friendly and Helpful.and Nice Hot Chocolate.

Parts of order missing had to get table cleaned as was full of dirty plates glasses etc

Changed my rating to one star as myself and two others ordered food and got TINY portion sizes, in addition to this the chips tasted like they had been out for a week, maybe avoid this one for a while.

Incredible venue, and stellar staff with an amazing selection of drinks. Morgan B served me and, as well as being very friendly, changed everything about how I order cocktails. The Amaretto Sour she served me changed my life 🙏🙏🙏

Hardly any food available, hadn't had a delivery since late December. Ended up with an All Day Brunch, which was ok and served quickly once we'd worked out what was actually available. Pub itself was smart looking in comparison to some Wetherspoons I've been in BUT the toilets were disgusting.

Absolutely awful. Went in for a drink and the barmaid asked us what we would like, we said we needed a moment to decide as we had just walked in. No bar staff came back to us after 10mins even though they were happy to serve under age kids by the looks of things. Eventually the duty manager came and saw us after what I assumed was a break and refused us service as she spoke to her staff member who said we were too drunk. Seems like she just wanted to protect her young bar staff. Would not recommend to anyone who values their self esteem as they clearly value themselves over service.

For a quick bite to eat, it was okay. Table service was a little abrupt. Food was good and filled a hole. Would return if in the town again.

Oh my gosh this was dreadful - the food was cold, the coffee machine needed filling and when I asked a member of staff for a clean mug (the drinks were being dispensed cold) she snapped at me. When I say the food was cold it REALLY was - after my interaction with the grumpy lady we thought it best to cut or losses and leave NEVER EVER AGAIN

A pleasant Wetherspoons pub in the centre of town near to the river. We visited on Tuesday lunchtime and it was reasonably busy. We ordered our food and drinks on the app to be delivered to our table. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. No issues at all.

No port available on remembrance Sunday. Enough said.

Notwithstanding that it is an empirical fact that Wetherspoons is at the bottom of the league in terms of finesse and the quality of the food served in your establishments…the breakfast at your Chippenham branch ranks as, well the most rank and revolting mess I have ever had the misfortune to be served. Coupled with the absence of care from your staff - it truly was a ghastly experience. You served breakfast with an egg that looked like it was auditioning for a horror movie - post being sliced and diced into pieces. I returned the entire plate and your server and his boss reluctantly agreed that it should be replaced with a new meal. New. Start all over again new. The “new” breakfast arrived: the sausages were cold, the beans were cold, the bacon was cold, the toast was cold, bizarrely the hash browns were hot, and the new whole egg was also cold. Astonishing accomplishment from the kitchen that a “new” replacement was almost entirely cold. I complained again. The indifference was staggering. The queue was so long to speak to the manager that I gave up, and given the cold, dismissive reception from the server - what was the point. That is a rhetorical question. There was no point. Your reputation is barely above average, but you are cheap and usually more cheerful than the morose and moody attitudes that were in abundance. Furthermore, your breakfasts are usually reasonably palatable. Hugely disappointing, and the aftermath was the feeling of a congealed ball of fat residing in my innards, and a distinctly unhappy stomach for at least another day after the catastrophic catering. I doubt this will have any effect, or impact on your presentation, performance, customer service and consideration, but if you have any pride at all in your work - perhaps it will prompt you to improve and invest even a modicum of professionalism and integrity into the venue, the food and the attitudes of the staff. Not even worthy of one star.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS 0 ⭐️ I WOULD!!!! Me and a couple brasses come to visit wetherspoons / chin-narm tonight after a succulent meal at prezzi’oles. A swift visit to the bar for a few shots before our bussio back to calne resulted in a humiliating suspicion of pissed’ness of our fellow brasses, who only indulged themselves in 2, top of the shelf, pinot Grigio. This humiliating act cause the brassclart to flickergoon all about the place causing leaking ceilings and a couple dirty glasses. Would not recommend.

Very short of staff. Tables not cleared after we had finished our meal. The one I had was very dry. It was British beef chilli. The pub wasn't that clean at all. Don't know how they got the 5 star.

Cheap meals and nice surroundings drinks are a fair price

My wife and I are big fans of W/spoons, we live in Hemel and go to The Full House and The Crown in Berko regularly which are fine so when we went to Chippenham for the Eddie & Gene Tribute it was a 'no brainer' to go to The Bridge House. Oh dear! We both wanted wraps but apperntly the cold chicken was not available so I randomly picked a spicy one which was 'orrible and gave me indigestion. My wife got nuggets rather than a wrap but worst of all the service which was APPALLING. Dirty, uncleared tables, 20 to 30 minute wait for food, surly, unapolgetic waitress who seemed to think it was OUR fault there was a long wait (I guess it was - we should have bought a sandwich in Waitrose). Never again. Next year its sandwiches for us - there's a nice park near by. On the way back we went to McDonalds which though busy was a lot better.

If you want to eat cheaply, this is a very good place, but the quality corresponds to the low price. Otherwise it is loud and dirty there. The staff is friendly, but totally overwhelmed. It has never happened to me that I had to clean my table myself with a cloth because the staff saw the dirt but did nothing. I won't go there again. Better to go to bed hungry.

The food here is served partially frozen. On complaining to the manager he waved his arm at a pub no more than 30% full and said - it's very busy. The waitress at least had the honesty to explain that they were having some issues in the kitchen. Disgraceful way to serve food. Won't eat there again and wouldn't recommend.

Good mixed grill and cheap beer what else could you ask for ....

Ordered well done gourmet sirloin steak, well done , received just steak and chips steak was rare and blood was oozing out of it. Went to send it back obviously the staff didn't listen to what I had ordered!! So she accused me of asking for it rare which I never would eat it . So did me another one and the mushroom was raw. So that had contaminated the cooked food. Sent that back. Sent me another one and again had to send that back because the steak was not well done !!!!!!

The pub is located right next to the beautiful River Avon with outdoor seating, including a nice decked area over the river. A very good selection of beers, real ales, wines, spirits and cocktails available at a really great price. Real ales are so much cheaper than other pubs and excellent quality! Why would you not go here?!

Amazing setting: the pub which is by the river and has ouside tables from where you see the river, is surrounded by trees( on the river side) that you can see from the wide windows where the rays of sunshine enlighten the nice ,upper room when its sunset,despite the fact that it is in the full city centre. Nice inside as well, and ii found one of the young waitresses very polite, welcoming and smiling

The pub service is fine but environmentally it's a disaster. The rubbish spilling from the garden into the river is a disgrace. Next time I'll take pics.

Standard Wetherspoons, no frills ok food and drink, but as usual price reflects this.

Food was not cooked properly so was sent back, tables not cleaned and when they were asked to clean it my husband was handed serviettes! The meal was not what I expect from Wetherspoons I have tasted far better than this at there other places. Will not be rushing back there again Disappointing in the standard or lack of it

Lovely situation for a pub right on the river. Really impressed with garden. The pub was fine although we did need to ask to have our table wiped down as it was very sticky. Not good. I just wish they would have a sign up saying what is not available on the menu. It took several attempts before we found something that they had available. What's the use of the App if they need to keep coming back to you.

A smaller 'spoon though there is a small first floor overlooking the river on one side. There is a narrow veranda also overlooking the river and outside a raised plat form with seats alongside the river. Service was ok but reasonably quick. The food was very good. No dark real ales on for me so settled on a Newcastle Brown. Real Ales were on offer, £1.99 each. We liked it and visited 3 times during our 2 night stay.

This place is a Wetherspoon pub. It's in a nice location on the bank of a canal/river. The food was quite good. I think JDW has improved in that area recently. The beer price is exceptionally good. Cheapest pint was £1.79! Service is fine but obviously you order at the bar or on the app. Staff are friendly. Bottom line: reasonable food with a decent selection at an excellent price. No complaints at all.

Arrived bought drinks. Sat outside. Decided after 30 minutes to order food. THEN told “no dogs”. Removed dog to van. Outside was dirty, old food and crockery lying around. Tables dirty. Soiled dishes and glasses around. We table 301. Girl came with our order but insisted food for empty table 303. Took order away. I went to bar to protest and told food to be returned. Few minutes later food returned cold. Asked steak medium to well done. Steak rare. Popadoms fell on ground. Left and replaced. Big fan of Weatherspoons but on this occasion quality and service fell well short. There is no good reason to ban dogs from outside ares when many shops welcome them. Bad for business.

No atmosphere, very quiet & yet the tables, floor & generally the whole place was dirty-tables littered with dirty glasses & plates. Dirty menus. The staff were standing around chatting Very disappointing.

As with any chain pub it's OK. Only ordered a bowl Of chips and arrived within 10 min. Staff are friendly

Very disappointed. Three off us. All food came out at different times. Was waiting for dessert for a hour plus main meal also took a hour. No staff, Even tho it's not there fault bless them. tables in a mess outside plates etc. Even the seagulls were enjoying the chips on the table next too us. Wouldn't come again, well not this one anyway.

Would not come here again. 3 of us ordered food and it all came out at different times. Wanted half hours for drinks, an hour for mains, then an hour for desserts. It wasn't the staffs fault they are under staffed however if they can't staff a pub correctly it should be closed as the staff shudnt be put under so much pressure. Food wasn't even to a good standard.

Food was ok. Was a little disappointed at how small the salad was compared to other weatherspoones. Not cheap for a salad with what we were served.

Well picked young members of staff. First wetherspoons where I noticed that after bringing in food or drinks they collect empty plates and glasses from other tables on the way back. Some of the weatherspoons won't even clear the table you sit at.

Came here for breakfast they had no porridge or fresh fruit so a vegetarian breakfast it was. Partner had the fiesta breakfast which he enjoyed. Unfortunately my hash browns were oily but it was nice cheap breakfast.

Maybe short staffed sometimes but regulars of wetherspoons understand this 👍

Buggy app. Three occasions ordered a particular item of food and food came out wrong. On the 3rd occasion I made sure I clicked exactly what I wanted and guess what came out wrong again. When I pointed this out as ongoing they claimed I was wrong and I didn’t order what I wanted. This made me frustrated, and obviously bite back. on 3 occasions my friends were eating and I was sat waiting. The waiter then walked around to his colleagues and obviously stirred up our dispute around his work place and all the bar maids and staff was peeping around the corner looking at me on our table and walking past throwing more dirty/aggressive looks. It wouldn’t be pleasant for all people but I have social disabilities as it is and this made me real over whelmed and very uncomfortable and some what defensive to the point I was getting angry to the point of kicking off. When the food was corrected it was cold and less on the plate than originally delivered and looked awful the whole plate looked a mess and depressing (no surprise) really as the looks I was getting I wasn’t surprised of more passive dig of antagonisation. It left me paranoid then something would have been tampered with on my plate same stories spitting etc (this isn’t facts obviously) but I was worried of it as of how unpleasant and unprofessional the staff was acting towards me. I then wasn’t hungry due to the stress of everything and felt unwelcome, I asked my partner to get a refund so we can just leave. Awful staff in my opinion, unprofessional, unpleasant. I’ve had so many bad experiences (here) out of all the weather-spoons I have attended. And others like Devizes and Melksham branch are pleasant and helpful should an issue arise. I would avoid this branch if this wasn’t a meeting place for my partner and our friends. Certainly won’t eat here again.

Totally filthy. Menus covered in old food and sticky drinks. Asked behind the bar for clean ones. Directed me to a rack of 'recently cleaned one' Not one of them was clean. I was under the impression that after being closed down, things would have improved. This place needs another hygiene inspection. Subsequently I have reported this along with photographic/video proof.

Yateley Morris men were part of the Chippenham Folk Festival and we stopped off frequently to eat and drink. We thought that the ‘Spoons would be unablevtobcopecwithbthevenormous demand, but the pub managed Brilliantly, good food, wuivck service, good beers, quick cleaning and really, really upbeat motivated staff. Well done.
