Found the cafe overpriced and the elderly woman serving very rude. Such a shame as we normally visit every year with our kids. Looe holds special memories for our kids. The day wasn't spoilt but won't visit here again!

And fabulous service! What a smashing cafe perched as close to the sea as you can get, so great views from the high seating that runs right along the length of the cafe. Flatwhite was excellent as was my freshly cooked to order Sausage and Egg butty.

Came here for lunch and ordered fish and chips. Very impressed! Beautifully cooked and when I asked where their fish was from, it was so nice to hear it's local! What's there not to like, great coffee, great food! And a sea view! highly recommend

Well where do I start. Ordered fish chips and peas. Oven chips and findus fish! The teaspoon of peas I received were stodgy and awful. My wife ordered the same but with beans. All we can say is the coffee was nice. How can you have all the right things for it to be great and get it so wrong.

Called in for lunch and enjoyed chips, pasties and scones. thought we would try again a few days later for a scone and a hot drink, however, on approaching the door we were told they were closed. It was only 3pm, we were very surprised at this. Shame as the food we had a few days previous was nice.

Fantastic little cafe right on the beach, we used for takeaway fish and chips. Cheap and cheerful, tasty fresh food and generous portions. Also friendly helpful staff and no long queues. (Only downside was being chased down by seagulls for our chips!!!) 😂😂😂😂

Arrived very early and the friendly staff welcomed us with a nice cup of tea whilst they got ready - then they served two amazing freshly cooked breakfast - absolutely delicious - very friendly staff and lovely clean little cafe with fabulous views of the beach

This is a great beach cafe that serves fish and chips and snacks. We enjoyed a warming tea with a great view of the sea. Friendly staff.

Visited here twice during our holiday and on both occasions had ice cream which was lovely, place was clean and the staff were friendly

Worst customer service ever We popped in for a hot drink and some hot food as we had just arrived after a 6 hour drive to start our holiday the time was about 3.15 pm and was told that the food was off and when I asked about getting a hot drink to sit in the member of staff had to check it was ok and asked obviously the owner and she then looked at her watch to see what time it was Now forgive me but you are in the hospitality trade and good customer service goes a huge way I should know because I have spent the last 35 years in the same trade It felt that you didn’t want our money Obviously the owner must be loaded and doesn’t need the money of holiday makers

We popped into the Beach Cafe on a blustery day swinging between heavy showers and quick blasts of sunshine. I had a bacon and egg roll, shared portion of chips and a cup of tea. Everything was freshly cooked just how I like it and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There's not much seating but we timed it right and sat on stools looking out to sea. Spot on!!

A nicely located cafe, q right by East Looe beach. Quite a good menu, and a wide range of ice creams/milkshakes.

This is the place to go if you want a fantastic ice cream. We bought two vanilla ice creams they were delicious. Just what was needed on a very hot and sunny day.

Asking a member of staff for a strong white coffee you would hope was a reasonable request, unfortunately for the stroppy female member of staff, this was a difficult request which resulted in the worst coffee and service we've experienced in Looe .... just imagine if we were paying customers....ohh we were!

My husband had a bacon and egg burger, and I had a sausage and egg burger. We ate them over looking the beach and they were absolutely delicious. Will definitely return. Would recommend.

Whilst the staff were very pleasant and polite, it was without doubt the worst fish and chips ever tasted in a cafe. Tiny piece of fish covered in oil soaked batter with pre cooked hard oven chips.

The cafe is still operating as a take out which means at any one time there is a long queue cluttering up the promenade. This is OK I guess if you are actually in the queue! We bought drinks and ice creams every day of...

Waste of £20+.. curry sauce very runny. Chips frozen cheap make. Fish was unknown, but a very strong tasting one, the batter was the only good part.. would never use again horrid :-(

Great service here especially with regard to the Covid social distancing organisation. People were served very quickly and with a smile.

Ice creams, rocky road and millionaire shortbread very nice, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows nice on a rainy day. Queue moves quite quickly. Just make sure you keep an eye out for hungry seagulls!

Just been for cup of tea here with my girlfriend.Mine was ok but her decaf tea was stale and smelled mouldy. When I brought it to the attention of the male assistant he just said sorry and did not offer an alternative or a refund. We left commenting that we will not be going back there again !

Great cafe. Great view. Dog friendly.Enjoyed a couple of hot teas here watching the sea on a grey day in Looe. If you want haute de cuisine don’t go. But if you want a hot plate of cheesy chips with vinegar.... And a good cuppa. Coffee not bad. Friendly staff (the lads need to cheer up a bit) but won’t hold this against them. Service great! Was looking forward to fish and chips on the seafront. Nearly £15 for 2 portions of frozen chips and dry fish. Should have walked a bit further to get something better

Great location. We were looking forward to a typical portion of chip shop style chips only to have to wait 15mins and were served upDeep fried frozen chips. Was expecting fresh potato as you get in proper chip shops. They did have the correct fryers to do this. They were dry and hard. And £2.50 for a small tray.

Bought 2 ham salads and I was suprised how very very small the portion were. Next time I will buy a salad bowl for £1 at coop and some ham for £2 and save myself £7. If I was the owner I would be Embarrassed to sell such portion.

Excellent location right on the sea front on the beach. We had fish and chips here and it was lovely looking across the beach and seafront. Food was lovely and prices were good

On the approach to the beach, this is very conveniently situated for morning coffee, lunches and afternoon ice cream. We used it serveral times. The coffess were a decent size and reasonably priced. The service was very efficient and food freshly cooked to order.

Had some chips by the seaside as you do. Nothing to write home about although friendly service and comparatively priced.

After a day in Looe we popped in here for a coffee and ice cream. As many other reviews have mentioned the view from the cafe is lovely. Even on an overcast day it's great to look out and spot sailboats on the sea whilst knowing you're safe from the vicious Looe seagulls.

Great place for cooked breakfast or sandwiches and fish & chips for lunch with an amazing view and chance to hide from the seagulls!

This cafe has a wonderful view of the sea and beach. Not sure about the cuisine, but I would recommend stopping and having a coffee looking out over the sea.

I visited here on 17th June as the other places in Looe where busy. The food is not worth what you pay for cause the portion size is small but the food is expensive.

Me, my partner and our 10 month old bubba had a few hours on the beech, called in here for a quick chippy lunch. All food was cooked fresh so I didn’t mind the 10 minute wait. Reasonably priced and tasted lovely.

I ordered the tuna sandwich with salad and I’m going to say it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time.

Coffee was ok just a shame didn’t do hot food earlier , friendly staff ( once she knew what she was doing ) we all got to learn Nice over looking the beach

Called in as lots of others on your lists were only open in the evening. Super view, tasty, fresh, white fish & good chips followed by delicious ice- cream with cheerful service.

Called in for a lovely cup of coffee served by a really friendly chap. He deserves to be very successful.

1 star is for the view! We had fish, chips and mushy peas and 2 x teas, cost £19.50, then when we asked for ketchup were told it would be 25p per portion!!

Apart from the prime position next to the beach, this place has nothin going for it. It took 20 mins to get to the till then another 20 mins to get the food. All I wanted was chips. There was no curry sauce or gravy. When I got them tiny portion for the money and you have to pay for ketchup. Totally not worth it. Avoid at all costs

Whilst my 8yr old son was waiting at the front of the line for an ice cream, the young girl serving another gentleman inside the cafe decided to have a little bit of a meltdown at the till, when the gentleman questioned the amount he was charged, she stood at the till directly in front of my son and started saying for **** sake I can't use this till. After two occasions of her saying this, I had to raise my voice and ask her to tone it down, to which she just looked at me and walked off, no apology or nothing.

We brought 2 x fish, chips & peas.. We're told that they don't do gravy and they had run out of curry sauce.. We went at 12:20.Chips were very dry, and still hard in the middle. Fish was nice although the battery was very greasy. Peas were all dried up in the pot.Not worth the £20 we paid... avoid and go somewhere else!

Arrived here in the afternoon with my family, including my disabled grandma. Had an OK meal, nothing special and overpriced. Wouldn't have been awful if the staff weren't so terrible. We paid to eat IN, meaning extra cost on an already rip-off cafe, but then, the woman who identified herself as the OWNER, ignored my grandma when she enquired as to what to do with the rubbing, considering we paid more, surely they'd take it away for you? Otherwise, what are we paying for? To sit in a run down cafe with broken chairs? No, she barked at my disabled grandma to move it all to a bin outside. When I questioned this with her, she simply said "don't bloody come back then!" What a lovely woman catering to tourists. This was followed by her swearing and putting her middle finger up at us as we left.. how polite..Won't be returning.

I visited The Beach Cafe with my boyfriend on 20/08/2016. We just nipped in here for a cup of tea whilst we waited for the rain to stop before heading out to the beach. Averagely priced, the staff were lovely and friendly and there were nice views of the beach. Couldn't expect any more or less for a cup of tea really! Something to note; there is a 25p card charge for a spend under £5.

Frozen chips (half cooked), pigmy fish (or 1 portion cut in two), 15 minutes from placing your order to being served... Just not good enough. This cafe has the perfect beach spot and abuses it in the best tradition of ripping off the tourists. I hate when people go out of their way to get it wrong.

Chips weren't fresh... or if they were,then fresh from the freezer as they certainly didn't taste like chip shop chips. Portions were very small too,and very expensive. Certainly wouldn't recommend... There's lots of other little chip shops I'll be trying next time,even if this place is right on the beach.

A very busy Sunday lunchtime when we visited but the service was very prompt. Suffice to say that this was some of the best fish and chips that I've ever tasted. Well done, all.

Great place to just watch the sea and beach life pass by from the stools along the big open window views with a cup of tea/coffee. Not rating this for the food, as it seems best suited for time between breakfast and lunch or lunch and evening meals when you just want to soak in the views when the weather is not at its best!

Have sat here many a time on the bar stools sheltering from the rain/wind with a hot chocolate, or in the summer just people watching - and that's what it does really well. But other than that would not recommend for food. If you want fresh, tasty food right near the beach go to the Pier Cafe at the other end, if you want cheap and basic with great views, this is the place.

First visit lady behind the counter spoke abruptly to her colleague in front of me which I considered rude as the lady was clearly embarrassed, next visit she was rude to my sister!! Saying that the mocha coffee was delicious albeit overpriced and the view from the seating overlooking Looe beach is fab especially if you are looking for a warm cosy place to escape from the English weather. Would have given 5 stars for location and good coffee but sorry only given 2 stars because, I'm assuming the owner/manager, needs to go on a customer service training course!!

Located on Sea Front - walk in style cafe offering drinks/ice cream or simple hot food. The heat strikes you as you enter - the entire front of the cafe is glass & acts like a green house. Bar stools are sited along the window with a small ledge to put your purchases. Outside seating available. The location beats anything - use it as a chance to sit & look.

I ordered the 'Special' which was fresh crab sandwich, and at £8.95, I was expecting something rather delicious. The margarine was spread so thick it was almost as thick as the bread! Who puts margarine with fresh crab?! I scraped the crab out and just ate that. It was tasteless. The side salad was a quartered tomato and a bit of lettuce, hardly very imaginative. It came with no dressing. My friend had the tuna jacket potato, which was unbelievably over cooked and the inside was grey. The filling was very meagre and unappetising. Shame, because the location is great, (save for the awful street musician, but that wasn't their fault). The lady front of house was polite and friendly, but the two in the kitchen had the worst scowls on their faces, and when posed with a question they just pointed to another member of staff and grunted, 'don't ask me ask her!' Singularly the worst meal of our week long trip. Come on ladies, get a grip.

Our favourite cafe was full the day we went to Looe and so we wandered to the sea front and found ourselves here, it's not our first visit but one we felt we should comment on. We stopped for coffee and lunch. We both had a salad and were happy with the speed of service and the quality of the food, being nicely prepared and presented. Whilst we waited for it to arrive we enjoyed a coffee. The only 'fly in the ointment', which is completely outside of the control of the owners... seagulls. They will take food out of hand as you place it in your mouth. The trick here is to sit at a table with an umbrella, you should then be safe. The team serving here are, by and large, pleasant and helpful and you can't get a better view of the beach whilst you sit outside and dine.

I had my brother and wife down from Sussex and came here for fish and chip lunch during a town visit. The food was fantastic. The portions sizes were very generous (without being 'silly' size), the batter and chips were light and crisp and all this gave tremendous satisfaction. All was cooked to order, it tasted fresh and greatly nourished us! Also staff were friendly and generally on the ball. Black coffee was scrummy as well. Warmly recommended.

Popped in here for lunch after a windy chilly paddle and had delicious fresh cooked cod and chips. Hot, tasty and good value. Pleasant helpful staff and very clean. Excellent view of the beach from the counter by the windows.
