Expensive really and food isn't the best quality but very good service

I opted for the "Large Chips" and they were certainly Large. The depth of flavor was sublime, just the right amount of crunch through the outer skin, before being met with a soft creamy inner. I would certainly return to this establishment, and I rate it highly in my quest for the perfect chip 🍟.

Never again disgusted we couldn't eat any of it .complete waste of money and our time today wouldn't even feed it to my dog .

Be prepared for a long wait! Sat 15 minutes waiting for chips. Eating them while walking through Camborne then luckily I came across a bin where the disgustingly slimy, greasy and cold chips ended up. Never again!

If I could give minus then I would but as I can't they can have. A very over deserved one, food sound great and should be great but what I recieved was if not cook able for a toddler and woukd still be better, ordered the lamb special which should contain lamb donner, lamb shish and lamb kofte but what I received was cooked t rex arms and some peppers that had rotted for a few years before served or sent I'd honestly rather eat a toe nail, my misses got a fish and chips and well the fish looked like a 87 year old cricked flap it actually tasted the same absolutely awful again and absolute waste of time, the only good thing was the chips which I'm sure they ordered from another take away to give them some sort of respect, if you order here you are as much of a clown as these so called chefs and business owners, FYI we called foe a refund and well the TRAINEE Offord me down the shop to settle the refund rather than send fresh food aswell as a refund, fair to say pictures were sent to just eat and we are expwcting a full refund. Always a good service value for money and great food

Two portions of chips at 12.30 lunchtime were disgusting and not fresh tried to contact but no joy avoid these tasteless scammers

Previously had food delivered from here first time had a lovely battered home made fishcake, chips and curry sauce ordered the same the other day sadly got a small cheap frozen processed fishcake and luke warm chips sadly but a quick friendly delivery.

I have given this place several chances. Used to be good but has really gone down hill. Last order the chips were some how under and overdone at the same time. Inedible! I have ordered fries and been sent chips. This has happened at least 3 times, several months apart....take the fries off the menu if you don't have them!!! The fries are for an autistic child who will only eat fries so, just sending chips is no good. They offered to refund me, every time they did this, but they never have sent me the money back. We decided to try once more tonight and this was the last chance. Not wasting any more money on soggy, luke warm brown chips anymore. Done with it, honestly I wanted them to be better but it's just awful.

First time buying from here , went in and only ordered 2 large chips and a portion of chicken nuggets i was the only person in there they took around 30 minutes to give me my food. It was very overpriced and the chips tasted like they were reheated! Also the communication in there was atrocious. Wont be going again.

Asked for 2 menu items to be told they don't sell them, with the menu displaying them on the wall. Chips were nothing special and a bit rubbery and the battered sausage was edible at least.

Food not the best but it was a Tuesday and my local chippy was shut. Next time I'll just cook at home. The menu board was gone and guys behind counter didn't seem to care about customers, its a shame really as there shop in helston used to be good

Bought chips with cheese and beans for 6.50 was cold! Chips were like cardboard! Wouldn't go there again if it was free!!!

Great food resonable price and lots of it

Went there at 5.10 pm for some chips, and a few other items. . I wanted "HOT" chips. What was given was not fresh hot chips. Possibly from afternoon servings. I tasted some, flavour seemed good. They had just put a fresh batch of chips in the oil. And I said I would wait the 8 minutes for it. When I arrived home, with the "" hot"" food, that I placed in a sealed bag to keep food warm. The chips they gave me where, NOT HOT, But the same older cold chips I originally did not want... My families 1st, and ONLY, AND LAST TIME. WAKE UP TO GOOD SERVICE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Haven't ordered takeaway from here for nearly a year due to previous delivery issues and appalling customer service. Thought I'd try them again and found them to be consistent in their customer service and delivery. It's not rocket science to get an order correct but these seem to struggle blaming it on being busy and lack of staff. That rings a bell hmmmmm! Needless to say this time I will not be using them again and would definitely recommend a different food outlet.

Very very bad service and very disrespect they never do what you ask for

I’ve ordered chicken shish kabab with salad while I told him put inside folk and some Lemon he said okay but when it delivered he didn’t put Lemon and folk. I called to him that why you didn’t done what I told you? He answered me so disrespectfully and said what do you want from me go to somewhere else for next time! I never seen any boss be disrespect like him.

Absolutely super, no problems and freshly cooked. Just been back and bought 2 small cod and one portion of chips and the small cod was huge and freshly cooked and the chips were super, deffo be back soon! :-) just been back and got a large kebab for a change and it was outstanding! Lots of meat, bed of basmati rice, flat bread and a pot of chilli sauce and the sauce was proper chilli sauce with the seeds in it, the meat was cut thick not like the wafer thin kebab shop slices! I will deffo get my kebabs from here again! Just got another kebab from there and it was outstanding yet again!

Awful Service! Avoid ! Went tonight for Fish and chips partner asked for cod and chips twice but when only received one was told only paid for one and that the reason his order was wrong was that HE WAS BEING DISCRIMINATING BECAUSE THE STAFF WERE NOT BRITISH !!!!! My partner has never been racist in his life and to be accused of this was very upsetting. The way the manager spoke to my partner was very aggressive and when told of this he stated he was being assertive. Obviously needs a course in customer service as his attitude was appalling! To add insult to injury the chips were anaemic and the 2 portions we eventually got were totally different sizes. Needless to say we will not be going back and by the look of the majority of reviews we are not the only ones .

Popped in on my way down the high street as I was new to the town - classic fish & chips is always pricey but service was excellent, even offerd me a plate so I could enjoy my meal.

Big portions for a regular fish and chips. Tasty and reasonably priced. Bonus is that they cook fish separately in oil. Good for muslims

The food here is beautiful! You can really telly its prepared and cooked with care, not greasy or chucked in the box! Best takeaway we have had for a very long time.

Absolutely shocking! Waited nearly 2 hours for our food. Worst chips I have ever had, tasted like oven chips that have been warmed up in a microwave. Batter on the fish was horrific. Food was just about warm.

I stopped outside as saw in the window there was a neon “open” sign. There were also signs saying they served breakfast. It was 11:54 on a Saturday. I asked for a portion of chips. The man looked at the clock and told me the fryers wouldn’t be hot for another 15 mins, then the chips would need 5 mins or so to cook. He wasn’t really bothered about serving me. Clearly they do so well that they can afford to turn away customers. I said I couldn’t wait as I had my child who was hungry. I walked out as I thought this was really rubbish service.

Delivered within 20 minutes of ordering. Great chips and fish. Chocolate cake out of this world.

Placed an order at 19:35ish via JustEat and received a confirmation saying it would be delivered between 20:30 and 20:50. Nothing arrived so at about 21:10 I called them - the manager called back and was very confrontational, said that his driver had delivered it a while ago and we'd left it too late to query so must be lying. I asked if his driver could tell me what colour our front door was, or something else about where he delivered to but conveniently that driver had finished for the night - so he suggested we went in the following day to sort out face-to-face. I think the driver probably delivered the food to the right -numbered house but on a different road. However I refuse to be called a liar on the phone and I don't think going in to their shop tomorrow will help so I've just reported the non-delivery to JustEat instead.

We were really disappointed with our food. 2 stars given as the fish was nice, although batter a bit soggy, but the Chips were horrid. Cold, stale, very little or no S&V and tasted like they were old. For £28 for 2 large fish and chips, 2 drinks and a curry sauce you would expect a decent standard. And to top it off, no forks put in the bag which made it difficult to eat when we pulled up 5minutes later to do so.

Love this place for Kebabs I'm a northerner and thought I wouldn't find a decent kebab shop till I found here. There is no coleslaw on kebabs and spicy chilli sauce is a delight and my wife loves the garlic sauce. Everything I order is cooked fresh and lovely.

I recommend never ordering from this place online, after 2 hours of waiting I called up the restaurant just for a man on the phone to say that they didn't have any orders through at all today and was very rude over the phone providing no help at all.

Order costing £14 ( how 🤔 so not worth it) Was not happy when I received, each tiny 'regular' portion of chips, smaller than my hand was £3.99 a portion. It was all luke warm. Boxes were even different sizes but both meant to be regular. Spoke to the restraunt to complain and say it was appalling the sizes for the price, the gentleman was so rude he swore and hung up on me! NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN !!

Tried before and good enough to order again. Ordered two cod and chips with curry sauce £27 - that price tag alone should warrant a very good meal. It was total garbage unfortunately. Luke warm, the batter was more watery than the curry sauce which was thicker than custard. Chips were bland, stale in textuere and cold in the middle - how's that even possible? Left most of it, gross. Safe to say I 100% don't reccomend this "eatery" and won't be using again. And most annoying part is that it cost a stupid amount of money, Wetherspoon down the road do a FAR better fish and chips, and they're not even a "chip shop" Pitiful

Visiting my mum we decided to order from here as mum likes the food here, placed the order and paid only to realise we had been overcharged, we were overcharged for a large cod, unable to refund but offered to swap for something else, which we did. That sorted we sat back to wait for delivery, over two hours later and two phone calls it finally arrives. Proceeded to unpack and dish the food out to discover that two plain sausages were missing (half of 1 persons meal), immediately phoned to advised and their first response was to call us liars, we proceeded to list all the items now on plates and confirmed the bag was empty, they advised they could send but it would be at least another hour, come to 10pm still no sausages so we went to bed. Phoned the next day where we were accused of hanging up the previous night hence the reason we didn’t receive delivery!!! We were then asked if we still want the sausages to which we replied yes and eventually they were delivered within the hour. Such an awful service and I’ll be encouraging mum to go elsewhere, it’s expensive for what it is and I’ve had better. Very disappointing.

Ordered some chips and battered sausage from here for my austistic son who usually loves them and even he wouldn't eat them. The chips were almost white, most horrible chips I have ever had, god knows what they are doing to them.

If you like stale chips, you’re gonna love this place. My dad has been alive 55 year and claims he’s never had more stale bland disgusting unseasoned chips in his life, ironic considering the chippies name. It baffles me how somebody can take so little pride in there work and get away with it at such a ridiculous cost. Burger tasted like spaghetti bolognese somehow. Fish was extremely chewy and nothing to gloat about. The owners should be tried for treason.

Order 2 kids sausage and chip meals and 2 normal chips and to jumbo sausage wasn't busy at all no one was in front of me and it toke them 45 min to cook chips and sausage and in that 45 minutes they served people who Order fish and chips and they had there in 15 2 20 minutes

Staying in the area. So called in for dinner. Good quality,good taste and hood value 10/10. Will call here again when in the area.

Cold mushy peas rock hard batter not work the money

This place used to be amazing! The fish and chips were so crispy and flavoursome. And burgers they made were so creative and tasty they had me ordering from them nearly every week 🐽 But after they refurbished their restaurant to give it a more appealing look, things went downhill... I don't know if they went under new management, but suddenly everything changed. The chips are now consistently cold, and when they're not they don't wow me in any way. The burgers now can't even compete with microwave burgers. (I once ordered a pulled pork burger, and all it was was a slab of overcooked pork, probably left in hot-hold) And the fish... Oh my god, the fish! This is supposed to be a fish and chip shop. The fish used to be so tender and the batter was so crispy and complex. But now it's like they got some frozen fish and painted/pasted batter onto it with a brush. Since their change, whenever I ordered from here all I have ever been is disappointed beyond belief. From two-three years ago when I was a fiercely loyal customer, to now, where I wouldn't even buy chips from them. The new salt 'n' vinegar is just so disappointing. I don't even know if they know what they're doing or what they want their restaurant to be, that they've tarnished one of highly ranked takeaways reputation in the local area. I have to give them one star. They're lucky for that even.

Food arrived on time but one piece of the fish was not cooked on one end and was inedible, the other was all batter and not much fish. Poor value for money.

Ordered takeaway from here. Missed a fish cake and 4 drinks. Tried ringing but they wasn’t answering. Managed to get hold of them the following day they sent out the drinks and another fish cake as they missed one. And the fish cake is STONE COLD in the middle. The squid rings tasted absolutely vile and was hard as nails. And the fries was soggy and luke warm. The chips on the other hand most wasn’t cooked and they was stone cold!!! The savaloys was also over cooked and I was very disappointed. WILL NOT being ordering from there again. The only nice thing from that place is the curry sauce. Disgusting.

This place is an absolute disaster I’m going to call in the council and environmental Health and I am going to get them to check their hygiene and their business ideas because their food turned up Stone cold I phoned up to ask what went wrong and got a load of abuse and the people threatened to smash my face in and very rude on the phone this service is absolutely rotten and they do not treat their customers right and they can’t even get the order right as well I ordered saveloy and chips and a battered sausage and a roll with butter and I couldn’t even get the order right or the dress right I would not use these people ever again and I would advise anybody not to use them at all there service is disgusting that is why I wouldn’t give him even a rating I definitely will not ever use this company again

Felt I needed to make this review for genuine feedback, because so many preventable things went wrong that made it poor. To start this place is not cheap, its just above average in terms of cost. I orderd the cheesy chips wrap with mayonnaise for £6. This took them 20 minutes to make and at the time I was the only person in there. I assumed they where melting the cheese and it was taking its time? I then got the orderd and left, there was no cheese in it! I went back and they where really apolgetic, giving me a complementary coke and said we will remake it, at this point this was a 3 star review. I then left saying thank you for remaking it, I then got in my car and realised they had this time forgot the mayonnaise! I gave up at this point and went home. Despite this, the food that I was given was nice and I enjoyed it!

The hand made burgers are amazing.

The service was fine but I didn’t think you could go that wrong with a portion of chips. Definitely not cooked enough - some chips were hard on the inside and others seemed very stale.

Had a delivery . Happy they were open new years day but the worst chips we have ever had. pale anaemic looking chips which tasted like cardboard .

The first time we went here our sausage and chips mysteriously turned into fish and chips. The second time (Wednesday 15th Dec) being the only customers and still waiting for ages, the chips were obviously re-heated. Dry, brown and tough. Needless to say, we won't be back.

I ordered a bacon roll which was perfect, small battered sausage which was nearly cold, cheesy chips which were sting cold I spat them back out straight away. Regular battered cod which the cod tasted very watery the batter was soggy and not very hot, i also ordered a mushy peas, they were the hottest item I ordered however the mushy peas had no seasoning and tasted of flour. Not impressed and will never be ordering from here again.

Stopped in Camborne on our way back to St.Ives and came across Salt and Vinegar chip shop, we wanted something quick and cheap as we had 2 hungry teenagers with us, we were able to sit in at one of the tables, food came out quickly, was hot and good quality and was not too expensive either, very good chippy and the staff were really friendly and helpful, if we are in the area again, we would definitely return to this establishment for sure!

Usually ordered once a week as a treat but now .... After a little argument with the delivery driver our food just hasn't bin the same since.... The breakfast this morning looked like something out of beatle juices cafe......wont be getting anymore from now on

My daughter ordered LG chips and Curry sauce ..online 6 pounds !!!!!!!! Told it would be 14 mins pulled up within a few minutes of her ordering I picked them up for her . Shop was empty of customers ,which can be worrying as chips can be cooling too much for my liking The box felt warm wen they handed it to me . but wen she offered me a chip as we were driving along it was too cool for me I'm afraid.. Sorry she only eat 1/2 of them Not nice she said she said it wasn't because she was full but because they were not nice tasting they had black bits which she doesn't like. 6 pounds not a bargain

On holiday at St Ives bay holiday park! Ordered fish and chips and eta was 17.10-17.30 hadn’t arrived by 6pm so rang and they said it had been delayed and would be 20 minutes. Another hour went by and again another phone call to be told it had been delivered to somebody else in the park! Manager said he would send it again and just eat would refund and after yet another wait and phone call manager said he isn’t!!!! Wouldn’t recommend

The food from here was amazing the fish was just to die for, especially the poseidon burger would highly recommend! Not only that they delivered 6 miles to St Ives bay holiday park. Will definitely be having another before we leave!

Got recommended the full English by a friend, I am reconsidering if they are my friend at all. I would not order this full English the (toast) well was just bread, the eggs were cooked to death even Steve Wonder could see they were inedible, my dog laughed at me when I offered him them. I would like to find a positive point in this brekkii but I just can't. The fish and chips is good so I guess lesson learnt don't buy breakfast from a chippy.

Went in tonite ordered cheesy chips savaloy more chips and a chicken and mushroom pie looked luvly turned out chips cold and soggy savaloys tasteless and needed a chisel to hack through the pie not good and paid fourteen pounds for the privilege needless to say wont be going back in a hurry

The people who run it are nice enough but the batter used for the sausages is too thin “needs to be thicker and lighter “

The main part of the order was very delicious and cannot fault it. But for me the biggest part of the fish and chip shop is the chips and I'm afraid to say, they were substandard, im a little disappointed. But as I said the main dishes were nice, so only 3 stars from me I'm afraid.

Went here today with a couple of work colleagues, as we are staying locally for work, and we are not from Cornwall, so found this chippy on the high street and went for it. We all got different meals (fish, burger and squid) with chips. We asked for chips and got cold soggy fries. (You could choose chips or fries on the menu). None of us were happy with our bang average to poor meal. The only saving grace was the curry sauce which we each used to add some heat to the fries. Just to add insult to injury 2 of us ordered milkshakes at £2 each thinking they would make them. As we were about to leave we realised he hadn't made or given us the milkshakes..... he then pointed to the Yazoo's in the fridge! What a joke! Will not be returning tomorrow night, and would not recommend. I've been to so many chippy's to know that this is one of the worst I've encountered. Poor quality, cold, and small portions. So disappointing.

I ordered collection on a Sunday evening. Pros: - Quickly prepared - reasonable price - juicy, amazingly tasty cod. beautiful. - really nice and tasty scampi. Cons: - absolutely horrible onion rings. I mean seriously, like someone battered onion with floor dust. Horrible, no salt, absolutely disgusting. - horrible chips. I know that Brits generally like to eat this sort of a horror, soggy, soft chunky awful pieces of a tortured potato, but this was also stone cold and chewy. No. Verdict? Nice place to get your fish from, but if you absolutely have to eat chips, make them yourself, buy them somewhere else or punish yourself in a different way, as this is too much. And god, don't order onion rings. But the fish was beautiful, and isn't that what it's all about in the end?

This was our first experience of the shop. Ordering on line was easy and there were various ways to pay. As it is forbidden to go out and these places are closed for indoor seating we decided to get a home delivery. Ordering starts online at 4 pm and the good are delivered in 45 minutes. Ours was early. The fish was very large with lovely light batter, we had onion rings which were very nice and we had one portion of chips which was too much ( a good fault to have). We also had a chocolate and cheesecake dessert. This was delivered well packed and hot. It was really very nice and we would use it again. No faults from us. Recommended.

Completely wrong order arrived, when we called to complain they suggested we just eat what they delivered!!!! When our food finally arrived it was nasty, greasy, the fish was just batter, never again!!!

Ordered 2 x sausage and chips, 1 x cod and chips, received 3 x cod and chips. Cod batter was soft, the chips were not cooked, mostly white chips soaked in fat, would not recommend or return.

Extremely disappointed :( chips were unbeatable. Like they take them straight from freezer into oil for few seconds. The person who been taking order was very loud and didint put any attention to what I was saying, I had to repeat myself few times before he get what I wanted to order.
