Best fish and chips defo recommend

Got the runs for about a week, throwing out both ends

Crispy fish, but stale old fat and old chip refries made everything taste of burned fat. Spent the evening with diarrhea and sickness and that was all I had eaten that day. Would NOT recommend, have a pasties from somewhere else instead.

Great portions, friendly chaps. Delicious crispy fish. They threw in a few free sauces. Recommended.

The quality of the food is very average. They forgot to add the sauce. The chips are not the best. The prices are very overpriced. Not recommended

Nice after a night out in Falmouth BUT.. Prices have gotten crazy!! I'm a student so I wasn't expecting to get scammed but that's how they make their money I guess. After a night out I went with my friend to get a cheesy gravy chip (small) and tried to charge me £8 for it! the original price was 3.50. They clearly try to scam drunk uni students especially as they probably wouldn't notice let alone say anything. He mumbled the price to me and I asked him to tell me and then instantly gave me the money he 'accidentally' got wrong. Clearly thought I was drunk and wouldn't notice (I was sober). They are known for this. Do not go here and expect good quality food or service, they are also known for trafficking (there are literal articles on it on google) AVOID HERE THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND FOOD IS AVERAGE

Went for fish and chips 11 pm Saturday night. Fantastic fish in light crispy batter - best I’ve had in years. Keep doing what you’re doing 🙏🙏🙏

Ordered battered saus, chips and curry X2 was asked to pay £19, couldn't believe ears. Server acted like it was mistake. Total actually came to £15 which is still quite ridiculous for such poor quality chips, soggy and tasteless. Watch your payments in here.

Got some cheesy chips from here, the man was not happy I asked for ketchup as it was thrown on the counter. Chips taste like he’s just pulled them out of the freezer. And the shop looks like your walking into an abandoned 19th century house

If fully drunk then chips will taste good if not don't bother. Chips will be dry or undercooked. Guy is very friendly though

Really rude and creepy man serves the food… he’s on a mission to make you uncomfortable. Me and several friends have had the same experience of insanely inappropriate interactions with him while just trying to get some food. No complaints for the actual food but the man at the counter makes us terrified to go in with sexual and otherwise weird comments.

Very poor quality food here! I had a vegetarian burger and it was dry and tasteless with little sauce or salad. Husband had a fishcake and chips - chips were OK- fishcake was £2.90 and was just a cheap processed one. Would def not go back.

Easter Monday bank holiday 2023 9pm Shame on you Cod on the Corner . Absolutely disgusting food . We will NEVER buy food from you again 😡😡🤮🤮 Cold food , and extortionate prices for the size of portions . We asked for a large cod , a large portion of chips and a jumbo in batter . The so-called large chips were no bigger than a small portion , just put in a bigger box and spread out . The fish was dry , tasteless ,and hard and crusty on the bottom , and it didn't even tasteor look like cod , probably some cheap alternative, that's being passed off as it . Even though the batter looked nice it was really soggy . The jumbo sausage was tasteless and just tasted of rusk and it also had soggy batter too . The chips tasted ok but it was a really really stingey portion for a large, which was ment to of been shared between 2 people . The whole meal was not even hot , it was bearley warm to say the least . The whole lot was absolutely atrocious and a complete and utter rip off. We shall not be eat from there ever again 😡😡😡🤮🤮🤮 Next time if we are hungry . We will make the trek to the other end of town and go to Harbour lights for some decent fish n chips . 😋😋

Wish I’d read previous reviews. Was down with friends in Falmouth and wanted something to eat before going to the pubs. Three went to this dirty, some filled chippy and were charged £10.20 for fish and chips. Trouble is when they got outside there were a handful of chips in the take away. Went back to challenge, where they went into their native tongue ( not Falmouth by the way), and we were surrounded by eight other members of staff from the kebab and pizza places. Did ring the police, no one came, probably part of this vile family or on the A30 checking for speeding drivers. Will write to the Falmouth council but expect nothing to happen. Good thing was that we have photos and have a record of the sales on their contactless cards. As others have said, avoid this cesspit, and the Falmouth pubs aren’t much better- unless we went to the wrong ones.

Ordering online is very customer friendly, even giving you waitint time. Always on time, Always hot and Always soo tasty x

They prey on drunk people and overcharge- I paid 40 quid for a piece of fish! Avoid these crooks and go elsewhere! Penmere fish and chips is the best in falmouth

Shop looks questionable, But they had a nice Fish n Chips. Cooked fresh while we waited. The staff were also nice and were fast when it came to cooking.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I resorted to eating from here two nights running when it was late after work and most decent places have closed. The owner holds the machine facing him and only allows card payments because he tries to scam drunk people. On the second night I ate there I checked my bank and noticed each visit had charged me £50 for fish & chips. I've alerted my bank and contacted the police but in the mean time I'd suggest everyone avoid this place of last resort.

Bought a chicken burger for £5.40 and it was just a roll and chicken, not even chicken fillet, no salad, just plain chicken burger. Waste money

We visited looking forward to a fish supper but we’re sorely disappointed with what was produced. Between the four of us, nobody enjoyed the meal dished up. The chips were anaemic and the fish/battered sausages were disgusting. Do yourself a favour and get a chippy down the road. The award this place allegedly won in 2013 must have been when it was under different management. Sorry but I have nothing positive to say.

Average. Nothing amazing or special. Big chunky hot out the fryer chips which is good. Have had better back in Bristol. Not too sure if I would go there again during my stay in Falmouth

We popped into "Cod On The Corner' for a fairly late evening impromptu 'fishnchips'. Firstly they had run out cod and only had battered sausages available as an alternative, rather odd given the name of the business. We ordered small chips & having received them we then realised that they'd also run out of salt and vinegar, we did ask & was told that it was 'all gone'. Having paid by 'contactless' I noticed afterwards that we'd been overcharged for large portions, partially my fault for not checking at the time, lesson learnt! The chips weren't good with lots of bits, stodgy and not crispy. This place survives on late night revellers just wanting to 'fill a gap' when the towns good chippies have closed for the evening. I can't recommend.

Ordered cheesy chips with curry sauce. It was absolutely perfect, right about of cheese. curry sauce was hot and just the right amount of flavour and salty, enveloped in deliciousness without punching your mouth with intensity, or leaving you simping for spice. People who work there are just lush. You’ll see me again, I’m coming for that stuff every day, I’m telling my friends, I’m telling my mum, I’m starting a fan page. Brilliant service,nice and quick very nice people . We even received some chips qhen we were waiting for our food. We always get our cod and chips from here. They are also open until 2 30 am !!! This is a must qhen you are in Falmouth:)

On an evening out, do not go to COD ON THE CORNER. Every single time I have been when needing food after drinking at a pub, they over charge. No matter what you get, they convince you that the price is more than you think it is. Last night I entered cod on the corner, asking for a small cheesy chips, then asked for curry sauce on top. They asked for, small cheesy chips, being £3.80, as seen on their menu, then curry sauce being £1.20. In total, it comes to £5.00. They charged me £6.00, as seen on my bank statement, facing the card machine away from me. Do not, I repeat, do not, go there after social hours, they try to take advantage of people who they think are drunk.

Had a portion of chips with a battered sausage this evening, once opened at home, it looked and tastes like it was cooked some hours ago, all cold dry and shrivelled up, hopefully I'll survive the night without being ill.....yuk!

Oh my goodness, this was the best fish and chips I've had in a long while. Freshly cooked to order, loads of gorgeous white cod and good freshly cooked chips - couldn't be better. The portions are very generous and both of us agreed it was the best meal we've had so far kn holiday! It was also the cheapest, but that's not so important. Friendly service and the best fish.

The staff in ‘Cod on the corner’ were really lovely, me and my friends got some chips after a night out, they had music playing so you could have a little dance whilst you waited - they even gave me a free ketchup too !

None British people cans do fish and chips so I will never go there again.

Awful food. The portion sizes are a joke, hardly any difference between a large and a small portion of chips. The chips were coated in grease and left a really bizare after taste. They were also undercooked, some were raw and not very hot. Will not be going back.

Well I order from hear most the time and can't really complain, but me and my partner ordered from there tonight 9th August and food turned up late and freezing I had to warm my own food up as cheese was not even melted, his chicken was cold just a pure let down this time round

Chips very dry, no flavour whatsoever. Place felt seedy and I didn’t trust the sausages so ordered a fish cake and couldn’t even eat any of it as it was just disgusting and actually grey in colour .Had such a seedy vibe ..Not hard to get fish and chips right but this place was poor, the man serving was polite but he talked to us the whole time and I felt uncomfortable, just wanted to leave!

The chips were like refrained chips that had were days old. If you want chips don’t bother with this place. Th fish on the other hand was freshly cooked and huge. Why then serve scabby chips with it?

They're scam artists, if they know you're drunk, they'll charge you whatever they want and see if they can get away with it. question everything in this place, because they're dishonest, they'd take your mother if they think they could get away with it.

Even though we were one of only two customers in the queue, it still took over 15 minutes to place our order and get our food. Also for the money we paid for the cod it was very small and not that tasty. Disappointing fast...

A man working there stole my friends flat key and wouldn't give it back. She just wanted a battered sausage, no innuendo intended, and he was being weird. He wouldn't give this room key back and was laughing at us. The situation ended after 10 minutes of bargaining and he never even gave her her change.

Nice chunky chips, however I got small portion of chips where as my friend got a large portion of chips, and the portions were almost identical, with the only real difference was that he was able to close his box, and I definitely couldn't, good value for me, not so much for him

Been twice here while on holiday. One delivered which was 1 hour 15 minutes! Another night we collected. Large chips is like a small! Kebabs same! Awful! Would not recommend! Harbour lights chippy so much better although they don't do pizzas or kebabs!

The worst fish n chips i have ever encountered.. it was a poor tribute to the cod that had to end up in this establishments hands..all i feel is pity for the cod and my cash....

On our trip to Falmouth we had a portion of sausage and chips each at the Cod on the corner chippy the chips were paralized and the sausages in batter were rock hard we ended up binning most of our meals we would never use this establishment again as the food was disgustingly bad

A place that will save you at the end of a night out, Cod On The Corner has staff that are always friendly and efficient, with prices that are reasonable. The food's quality varies, but if you're coming here drunk then you'll be thankful for it no matter what.

After a long day travelling to Cornwall, we opted for fish and chips, and with this being more or less opposite our apartment it was the obvious chouce. And I am glad we did. The battered haddock was delicious, so flavoursome. Not at all greasy. The chips too weren't greasy but lovely and large and fluffy .

Expensive food, and not good quality. Wouldn't recommend. Bad prices and not good food. Try a different kebab shop.

This place has been here for a while ( under different names ) always a good portion given if cod & chips is your chosen fare prices similar to most places except steins who charge a bit extra for the name

Used to be a reasonable takeaway but been going down hill for some time now. I always liked getting some lunch here then walking over to the pier to sit and have lunch But now advoid eating there food all together.
