Eat here regularly. Friendly staff. All good. Convenient when buying stuff from the store. Have the Black Cat with cream when it's on. I need to keep writing as it won't post this comment due to insufficient characters so hopefully this will do it

Had apple/syrup crumble with clotted cream. Made by Kevin, can honestly say it was the best I've ever had & my mum's a chef 🤣 heaven on a plate. Thankyou 😀

Can't beat a trago breakfast the five section is really good value.

Very disappointed the food was look warm chicken was hard,rice was also only warm.the pudding was hard it was supposed to be jam and coconut sponge. What has happened to the food it was always excellent but now😒😒😒

Good food for the price. A lot of people say it is not good,but if you want value for money this is the place to come.we come every few weeks.

It's cheapish and cheerful! Not brilliant but edible. My breakfast looked a bit like a car crash but it tasted good! They could probably do with bigger plates!

Lasagne and chips very dry, no moisture in with the meat. Kids tomato pasta spicy and not very nice. Cheap food but disappointing.

We used to go to this cafe and I was looking forward to a cream tea. Things have changed. It was awful. First there are small cups with no saucers and you only get one cup - then the tea comes out of a machine neat and so it's strong. There is no way of regulating the strength and not even hot water available. The scones are kept in a fridge wrapped up with the cream. But you get no butter with it and because the scones are kept this way they were not only freezing cold to eat but hard as a bullet. Very disappointing and will drive back to Morrisons next time.

Stopped for lunch with my partner, we both had the homemade cottage pie and homemade cinnamon apple crumble and custard. All the food was very tasty reasonable sized portions and hot. Been eating in here for years, I have generally always found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the food, especially the homemade options to be very good. Proper traditional canteen style dining and cooking, fairly priced, not over pretentious, and well prepared wholesome proper food.

Go up the stairs to this friendly restaurant and enjoy a pasty having spent time shopping in Trago. Places to eat are limited but the food is good and cheap.

Queued at 11.50 am and looked at the breakfast items. Eggs were sitting on top of hot cabinet and looked well past their best. Decided to go to the back of the queue and choose something else. Other menu items were available according to their printed board until 4.15 pm. Got to front of queue at 12.10 pm and asked for vegetable lasagne - none available. Same with vegetable curry. These appeared to be kept to the left of the kitchen (looking from a customer viewpoint). This led me to believe they were kept in a freezer when in stock! I settled on plaice, chips & peas and beef lasagne for my other half. Lasagne was "average" at best. However, the plaice arrived and first impressions were it was overcooked as the breadcrumb coating was a very dark brown. Cutting into the plaice it was actually hard to find any plaice and the little that I did find was extremely thin as to be almost worthless - no flavour whatsoever. The peas on both of our menu choices were undercooked and poor quality. My plaice meal was £8.95 - expensive for what was in effect a meal where only the chips were edible! I mentioned this to the young lady clearing the tray trolley and suggested she advise the kitchen of the poor meal. She was lovely and said she would but I don't expect it will lead to this establishment changing their suppliers. All in all an extremely disappointing lunch and we won't be returning to eat there.

Cannot fault the food,prices etc. Very tasty meals, clean eating area and great prices. Only wish I lived nearer. Trago did us proud.

Easy to get to and an all round pleasant experience, fast delivery of food and staff were very helpful, bright and clean

My partner and I visited the Keg and Kettle yesterday for the first time while shopping. At this point we had never read any reviews! We ordered a Trago tower burger with chips with a beer and soft drink. To be fair, for the money, it was good! Chicken was freshly cooked, with a soft brioche bun and fresh lettuce and tomato with a side of coleslaw and pot of barbecue sauce. We also had apple cinnamon cake with custard for dessert, which staff brought to us later so it was warm and fresh. Yes, we had to queue as it was very busy, but, we found the very overworked staff to be polite and helpful.

Went for breakfast one of the ladies who was serving breakfast asked the lady chef if the food on the side was hot so she could top up the food for service the lady asked both chef if it was ready to go both would not help her and when she asked the lady chef the chef gave her a mouthful of abuse the lady said all I am doing is just asking so we had hot food I come here every week and after to day I will not come back the chef calls a big argument and in the end we walked out all the staff stop serving this was in front of all the customers. The lady was right if health and safety and food and hygiene walked in. There would be a big problem.

Don’t waste your time. Breakfast was revolting. Greasy eggs, mushrooms are cooked somehow but I don’t know how. No vegetarian sausage available so offered something called vegetarian nuggets which tasted foul and so greasy. No mushrooms on the small. Vegetarian breakfast? Surely there should be as it’s just a smaller version. Unable to eat most of this and had the effects of what was eaten all day. This is definately a case of You get what you pay for. Go on spoil yourself and splash out on somewhere better.

Waited 40 mins to be served, asked what we would like, and then they decided to get a pad to write it down and asked us again, have they not heard of PDA's which would be quicker and easier to use. Only 1/2 a cup of coffee out of the machine... then we waited another 40 mins for 2 jacket potatoes ... the staff in the kitchen didn't seem to have a clue. Not organisation. There's lots of banter going on, but not much else. When we got our food, it was luke warm at best and very mediocre. Needless to say, we won't be eating there again... we felt sorry for the ladies on the till and restaurant dining area. They were the only ones that seemed to know what they were doing constantly, busing cleaning and waiting on the dinners when their food was finally served up by the kitchen staff.

The worst breakfast ever. Me and my partner popped in for breakfast it was 9.00 oclock so thought it would be ok but no. No hashbrowns still cooking. no eggs. Had to wait 10 minutes while the rest of the food was getting cold. Sat down to eat and all was stone cold even hashbrown cold in the middle as if just defrosted . Eggs well . only partially cooked all snotty couldnt eat it . so we left breakfast and go to drink our coffee terrible tasted burnt and bitter. So that was £10 wasted. Staff very rude and not interested when complained . just walked away. Horrible atmosphere in there now . please get rid of these staff and get some that can cook and have some manners .

Well, where do I start… absolutely beautiful location, traditional and welcoming. The staff remind me of my favourite dinner ladies from my days in school. Oh, how it makes me reminisce of a simpler time. The food..exquisite. The ability of the staff to be flexible, to mix and match, and to put all of my favourite food together onto one plate, all with a wonderful smile, is truly something to behold and something that I hope Trago Mills is proud of. If there is a heaven, it is the Keg And Kettle.

Nipped in for a roast - after waiting ages to pay found no knives - told to sit down and they would bring us one - never did so ate barely warm food with two forks. Partner had a tiny, tiny mocha that he said tasted neither of coffee or chocolate!

I just wanted to pass our family thanks to all of the restaurant staff. They are continuously friendly, kind, helpful and need to be rewarded for excellence in customer service. Keep the the great work that you all do. We were here on a family holiday and our service was outstanding.

Went today at about 2.30 and not much choice left tbh. We had Cornish Pasty, fries and peas and I had Lasagne fries and peas and for just over £6 each was good value. A meal and a drink each for just over £14 total for the 2 of us can't be bad.

Great friendly staff, very clean, nice food and they checked for allergens. Everyone was stuffed at a decent price. Thank you Keg & Kettle staff. We had cold drinks but noticed they also do soya for tea and coffee's.

I visit Trago regularly and today decided to go for breakfast with my husband. All I can say is that the staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast was delicious and not over priced. I have to add that the cleanliness was the best I've seen in a local cafe in a long time.

Rude lady behind the counter serving customers. Pulled a face at my fiancés lunch and was very rude when serving us. When our puddings arrived, one had to be sent back as we asked for no custard, my fiancé was made to wait a further 20 minutes for his to arrive. We left before it came out as the other one was hard and stuck to the bottom.

100% worst catering establishments around serving Sloppy Pigs Swill . Served by the rudest member of staff I have ever come across, to be honest I’m sure she has mental problems. Reading the negative feedback on here this has gone on for years so why hasn’t the owners took action don’t they have any respect for their business & customers? She was the only server and stopping to clear dirty pots n pans then without washing her hands handled a customer’s baked potato and salad. Out of about 10 staff ONLY one had a mask on COVID precautions a joke. Short staffed this mouthy member of staff informed us yet I had to ask her why were the 2 members of staff stud up talking, then few moments on there were 3 of them. The manager, well what a excuse for a drip, clueless and couldn't organize a party in a brewery. No chips, no sausages, no eggs, frozen veg under lights went rubbery. Cottage pie we bought YUK!! Couldn’t eat it , made with MASH potato & god knows what meat but went into the bin. NEVER AGAIN.

Probably one of the worst catering establishments around. Took my elderly mum in for lunch and was appalled. The sarcastic woman behind the food counter was not only rude to us but to everyone in the queue. If she doesn’t like a job in customer service I suggest she leaves! We paid and sat down at an empty table that was dirty and had dirty cutlery. My mum had lasagne which was disgusting, more like cat food in pasta. The coffee from the machine was undrinkable and my pasty was virtually inedible. £16 for absolute slop and a rude dinner lady! What an absolute delight I don’t think. Will never go again and warn others not to either.

The Keg and Kettle is part of Trago Mills and, in the past when on holiday in the local area, we have visited this venue for breakfast and Sunday lunch. This year, they advised that they had a restricted menu and Sunday lunch was not one of their menu items. They do not cater for dietary allergies or intolerance but usually I am able to have some breakfast items and some of the roast lunch items omitting "trimmings" like Yorkshire pudding, stuffing etc and gravy. This year, there was nothing on the Sunday lunch menu that I could safely eat and so we went elsewhere and probably would not bother eating there again. With the availability of so many Gluten and dairy free items these days, it is not hard to offer food to accommodate these dietary requirements so I can only assume that staff at the Keg and Kettle have no training in this area and/or cannot be bothered!

Still value for money,staff are friendly and lots of cleaning of tables etc for Covid,can't fault. But do not expect 5 star service

Over cooked, over priced tasteless food of poor quality! The Tower burger was fried everything and all over cooked! No taste at all and very fatty. The chilli was so artificial hot I couldn’t eat it! Basic food nor worth buying

If your idea of lunch is expensive school dinners served by failed dinner ladies that lack any customer service or social skills, and you enjoy overdone food that lacks any sort of taste, then this place is a must!! An absolute gem of a place that harkens back to the bad old days of the 70’s when food was over cooked and bland and hunters chicken was haute cuisine. My friends and I went into the restaurant to see what was on the menu,( as when we are holiday in cornwall its where we like to eat), the mixed grill wasnt on the menu so we asked if it was possible to have it, to our delight we were told they were happy to source the meat from the local butcher, so off we went shopping and two hours later we sat down to the most amazing mixed grill, we had steak cooked to how we wanted it, porkchop, lamb chop, gammon,kidney, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas and chips ,the meal was beautiful, we couldn't thank the staff enough, I would happily recommend it.

Went in today with my children and asked for three kids pizza meals , they said they had no pizzas so i asked for pasta meals for the children , again they said they had none , in the end i opted for two roast dinners and two kids nugget meals . My husband called in for breakfast one Sunday morning as we were calling in at Trago. Why oh why did we do that!!!!?The place was pretty empty so no problem getting a table. They had sausages, bacon, beans, wedges, fried bread, hash browns and tomatoes on offer. They had chips but you were not allowed these as they are brunch not breakfast.We both opted for 5 items and on the good side it was cheap. But the food was awful so really it could have been free and still wouldn’t be good. The hash browns were dried up and the wedges inedible. My husband said the sausages were dreadful. Oh and the coffee was tasteless and the place was cold.All in all an experience never to be repeated. I have given it 2 because it was cheap.

Whilst visiting Trago Mills near Liskeard in Cornwall we thought we’d have a light lunch in the Keg & Kettle Restaurant.

Was nice and a good portion size, it was very busy but all the food was hot and freshly dished up when ordered.

This location has undergone a 'refurb, now bright and light and pleasant to visit, they have altered the menu and if you are vegetarian its not such a good deal, you know pay for the number of items so this means it costs more. However it is still good value!

Popped in today for a quick lunch as it’s not expensive, for the sake of some veg rather than takeaway. The cottage pie was the only thing that was nice, because of the standard of the meat on two roasts and a mixed grill. More gristle and fat than meat sadly. Also, no real system in place to ensure your meal is still hot when you eventually get it to the table. The only genuine veg was the cabbage, frozen carrots and peas and the potatoes tasted stale.

We visited for lunch whilst shopping at Trago. The meals were of excellent size and had been cooked well. We only had about a 5 minute wait for them to be delivered to our table piping hot. Excellent value for money

We went here, largely because we'd missed that there was an upstairs restaurant selling different things. If we'd known, we'd at least have looked at the menu. The food was canteen-style and fine if this is what you're expecting. The surroundings look canteen-style too.

Went for breakfast at around 09:30 on 19/08/2018 and it was awful. Opted for '10 items' breakfast, 2 eggs, 3 sausages, Mushrooms, 3 Bacon, Toast and Free Toast.

Just been to Trago at Liskeard, done our shopping then went to the restaurant to have a roast! Well what can I say but I wish we never bothered!! Normally the food is lovely fish & chips etc but the roast was only warm with the potatoes going cold very quickly, the carrots were like rubber (obviously frozen) & the piece of chicken breast (the board said beef but they had ran out & older lady with grey hair that served us couldn't be bothered to let us know!!) was very dry!! Left most of our meals & have come home to cook our own. Also cold drinks machines (both of them) were out of order so only choice of drinks left were bottles of water or kids drinks!! Why?? when you sell tins of coke etc in the shop which you could of brought to the restaurant!!! Also coffee machine when we pressed white coffee came out black!!!!! When we were leaving someone was trying to use the slush machine but it looks like that had given up the ghost as well!!!! Come on Trago you can do better than this.

The staff at Trago must be hand picked for completely ignoring customers and making them fell as if the place would run a darned sight better if these bleddy customer's would stop coming in and buying stuff. When we went to pay one girl walked away to find out why the internet had gone down and she couldn't get on Facebook. That about sums up the Trago experience.

We arrived a little late in the afternoon but greeted with a smile by one of the waitresses who told us most things were still available but were soon closing. So we hurried up to the food counter and were greeted by another smile but this time by Emma, who turned out to be a font of all local knowledge, extremely pleasant to talk to and very good at her job. Thank you very much Emma you really made my day, along with all the other staff of course. If you expect fine dining here then you will be disappointed but if you want good wholesome food at good prices then stop off at Trago and visit the Keg and Kettle for a light snack, breakfast or good old liver, bacon and onions. Recommended.

Stopped off with the family on the way to the beach for breakfast. Great value for money. Very busy with people on holiday and people on their way to work. Already recommended it and going again next week.

While on holiday in the area we visited here for a few supplies and something to eat - the shopping thing was typically Trago, you know, pile it high and no frills but sadly that experience continued into the eatery - the food was borderline edible served by staff who really didn't want to be there and made that VERY clear.

Anyone who has visited this Trago Mills and eaten here will know that the food is excellent and plentiful. Cost wise, you get a lot of food for a little money. The restaurant is large and easy to walk around. I have been many times over the past nine years and have always found it clean and the staff friendly. They ask that a certain area be kept for disabled users which is great as I have never encountered that care before. The food if freshly cooked an plentiful. It is served canteen style and you pay at the end of the line. If you are disabled, the staff are very helpful and bring your food to the table. Great value for money in beautiful surroundings. Well worth a visit just to eat and walk in the grounds along the river.

We waited for twenty minutes to be served, ordered pasty, chips and beans, sorry the lady said we don`t have any pastys! so ordered chicken pies sorry the lady said we only have one chicken pie, we had that & a cooked breakfast, by the time the lady dished up and we paid for it, found a table the food was cold, in fact I don`t think the breakfast was warm to start with.

Located in the Trago Mills complex this restaurant is like the dodo. In as much as it developed in isolation and has no natural predators. This is not a good thing. The service is slow and chaotic. The food is old fashioned and something I would expect from a badly run works canteen. If on your visit to Trago you want to sit down and eat there really isn't any choice, The Keg and Kettle is it. Definitely an odd flightless bird. Visit 2. The restaurant has been refurbished and looks a lot nicer. Food and service remain unchanged.

I ordered the 1/4 cheeseburger and not only was it not a 1/4 burger it was a 2oz burger it had no taste what so ever and the bap was stale around the edges. my daughter had a chicken burger and that just tasted of oil. not nice

Me and my partner popped in for breakfast yesterday 9/01/2018 as its realy good and the price is excellent, my partner had a large muffin and i had a 5 piece breakfast , my partners muffin was very small but he said was enjoyable, but when i came to eating mine had loads of dirt from the mushrooms which had gone all over the rest of my breakfast, they hadnt been washed or cut the horrible ends of them and they where all gritty when eating them, and when we got our breakfasts they where nearly cold , so i left most of the breakfast, terrible, have second thoughts about going in there again.

Stopped here after a good wander around tragic mills and we found it very reasonably priced. Only had hot drinks and cake but if down this way again will definitely try the hot food range as looked nice as people walked past us.

The downstairs restaurant in Trago at Liscard is ideal for the shopper, we had their fish and chips and Rick Stein would have been proud, cost about £5.50 for a good meal. Decent service, staff smiled what more do you want.

Went for lunch as we were shopping at Trago. Had to queue for 30 minutes to get to the front of the queue. Ordered the roast (advertised as Turkey on the blackboard but was told it was pork when we ordered).

Went to Trago to do some shopping , Took me a time as i am using a walking stick at the moment. Went not Keg and Kettle , ordered a roast ,(which looked so delicous) plus there were many other thing we could have had.The lady that served us was very down to earth. polite and very friendly, she seen i had difficulties , so she got anther chef/cook to carry my meal to the table. How good was that , did nt have to ask ,so was very pleased. the roast tasted very nice , really enjoyed it , will be going back there next time . Thank you Keg and Kettle.:)

Want to fill up a bit? Don't want to spend a bundle? Here is a good place! But you do get what you pay for. Don't expect a gourmet meal from a cafeteria. What you will get is good, honest food reasonably priced. Really want the best out of your money? Go here for breakfast

We went to the Keg and Kettle but there was a half an hour wait so opted for the take away called Fit T Burst. My little one just wanted a take away box but they wouldn't make one up, I asked for a ham sandwich and apparently they couldn't be bothered to make one up. The attitude of the staff was awful. I didn't buy anything and went to the Warrens bakery next door where the staff were very helpful and we found a ham sandwich for my daughter.

As they say you cannot get it cheaper than Trago, foods fine prices excellent whats the problem if you want a meal while shopping.Plenty of parking.

Decided to visit here as the weather was awful (windy, torrential rain). The place is like stepping back in time to an ancient department store where everything is priced individually - they seem to sell a bit of everything but not particularly well. The lighting is horrible, the place looked a tip & we didn't even venture upstairs we were that depressed. A horrible experience never to be repeated.

We stopped here for lunch today. Food was as nice as you would expect from this sort of establishment, despite the time being right on lunch time and the car park being full it was very quiet. Hot food is mon display for you to view, set up is like a cafeteria you grab a tray get your meal and head to the till. Drinks machines all out of order, bottled drinks available. Ketchup is charged at 5p per sachet, the sized ones where you need at least 5 per child for it not to cause an argument. The children's meals did not come with a side of veg or beans something that should be encouraged as one of your 5 a day. The sausages considering there is a butcher's on site tasted synthetic, although bacon was nice. Portion sizes were good, the views out of the window are nice too. If your visiting trago and want a pocket friendly sit down meal this is what you will get.

Went here today for lunch and even though the fish and chips were good, batter nice and crispy, I couldn't believe that we had to collect a tea bag from the till for our pot of hot water!! What ever is going on? Also the female cashier was so sullen faced, not a cheery word or smile, so unlike the lady at the hot food servery, who was good. Shan't hurry back.

My husband and I come here regularly for breakfast. You get good food at a fantastic price, I would recommend it if you are on a budget.

Not expecting 5 star dining or table service as we understand what Trago is about but the experience left a lot to be desired.Why have a menu board that does not resemble what is actually available as its either sold out or just not available. Staff appear unhappy and are certainly not the most helpful or interactive.Only good thing I can say about the "café" is that the hot chocolate was good.

We went to do some shopping and thought we would stop for a bite to eat. I wasn't expecting a 5star restaurant. Looked at the board had two pasties with chips and beans. Went up to the counter to order food and all the woman could to was moan to another member of staff about who's cleaning the metal strips on the counter. Asked her if we could order she was very rood. Paid and sat down went to get our knife and fork and had to look through the trays to find clean ones and the lady next to was looking for a clean spoon. Food very basic but was expecting that but not tasteless we both left it. Was going to mention it on our way out but staff don't seem friendly enough.

For the price you won't find a better breakfast in the area be it a traditional or vegetarian, served by friendly helpful staff!

Visited the restaurant for the first time today with the family. I felt so sorry for the staff who were run ragged and so helpful and friendly yet they were clearly unable to provide the service they wanted to: I asked for toast and was told that that the server "wasn't allowed to make toast or give me bread with the beans on my plate" yet bread was given to another customer with her meal.The food was either under cooked or over cooked and served cold. We ended up leaving most of it and were just as hungry as when we arrived. The food available wasn't made clear on the boards and the staff were clearly under pressure. Food quality was poor and inedible at times. The only redeeming feature was the pleasant staff

Great coffee and tea cakes, great prices, also light lunches. The service can vary but if not in a hurry, well worth it.

Went there before and the chips weren't cooked properly but they realised before they put it on our plate, the second time we went there me and my boyfriend both were served uncooked chicken which was BRIGHT PINK!!! The guy then argued with us and told us it was all cooked and it's the type of chicken they use, I'm sorry but chicken is not pink!!!

We queued for over 20 minutes just has midday meals had started only to fine several items on the daily specials boards were not available. They could not cater for my wife who is gluten and lactose intolerate

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to Helston and glad I did.Food was excellent and great VFM.Get there early before it gets too busy.

Cheap and nasty, is about the nicest thing you can say about this place. Food awful, service bad, coffee cheap and tasteless

Was very disappointed visited for lunch with family the rosy pork was cold and over cooked service was pore with the exception of one member of staff who I could not fault

Some people would not eat here just because it is at Trago Mills,well,let me tell you they are fools. This place offers a breakfast at a price and quality I doubt you will find any where else in the west country.OK the building is odd but it was designed as was the rest of Trago by a wonderfull excentric fellow and to cope with large numbers of people at peak time. Today we called in on our way to visit Castle-an-dinas,our two English BF's with Tea and Coffee cost £6.75....amazing .So give the Keg & Kettle a try.

Tasty home made lasagne and tea and all very good value. Had to go outside in the rain to the café and then back in the shop afterwards.
