My favourite supermarket. I love the quality and freshness of their stocks. The service is always good, professional and friendly. I love their exotic in-door plants and the unique greeting cards. The place is always spotlessly clean!

Visited the cafe, because we'd been there before. My daughter ordered sausages in a bun, myself and my sister had got our food which was ok, my daughter's food was delivered sometime later! The bun was unbuttered and the sausages looked barely cooked on the outside and when she turned one of the sausages over it was bloody and uncooked in the middle. She returned the plate of "food" to the serving staff, who called the young guy from the kitchen. No apology, just a grunt and the comment of, it's fine it definitely reached the correct temperature. My daughter said she would not accept this. He grabbed the plate and disappeared back into the kitchen without a word. he reappeared at our table 10 minutes later, threw the plate of food on the table, turned on his heel and disappeared back to the kitchen without a word!! Not a word of apology was forthcoming, we were disgusted by his behaviour. My daughter by this time had had enough, she wouldn't eat it. So we left. Suffice it to say, never to return!

We visited Waitrose, a large supermarket to buy some fruit. We found that fresh fruit was not often on the menu in many cafes and restaurants. At Waitrose, we purchased apples, oranges, cherries, and prunes. All were good, especially the apples.

Coffee and sandwich and cake. Busy place. Service and food all ok. Would visit again if in the area. No issue getting a table.

Having eaten in the Cirencester branch of Waitrose on numerous occasions, I didn’t hesitate to gave a quick lunch here at Waitrose Bath. Could I be more disappointed!! I cannot fault the staff at all but the cafe itself needs some serious work. Everything feels very ‘worn out’. The chairs & settees were shoddy and in a few cases dirty. The flooring is, in some places, held together with yellow tape. No complaints about the coffee. The cheese & onion toastie was a bit on the tasteless side and what’s more….only toasted on one side! Soggy on the other. I’m afraid that I won’t bother again!

What a find. Lovely food and good value for money and very tasty soup indeed, friendly staff and clean toilets. All good.

Saw the reviews and not expecting much but this was very good. I had the pancakes on 2 days which were excellent. Would recommend to everyone. Coffee also very good.

I moved to Bath 2 and half years ago but since moved here covid lockdown started then couldnt much trip around this town till this spring My home is located a new development lansdown and my neighbours are so kind ! I really happy being bathnarian myself and telling my old friend the best place ever live in .."waitros" I ended up shopping there after stroll around town and tried to use saved voucher first time My shopping ended very bitter after payment done at the till and wasnt served properly as customer! Any customer whoever young or old should be served not taught I was like oh I'm not welcomed by this till cashier go away fast !! How this till staff act sooo her highness royal ..dear me I was quite treated rude way not knowing how to spend my voucher I saved on my phone it was first time using that ..the scanner placed under cash payment tool I couldnt recognised where and how to place my phone under there Other shop like Morrison my voucher being checked up by scanning club card it's simple but waitros you need to scan twice club &voucher This lady her royal highness telling me their scanning method being there over the decade how do I know I'm new there so waitros only welcome long royal and regular customer only?? ..I dont want to go there again ..I usually shop at this place for fresh mussels &oyster will find out other fresh market .. never go there again from this time

It's not exist there. I faced two times issue during my customer experience path. First time it was at Jubilee dates, when the shop closed earlier, than supposed, and the manager hurry upped all customers to leave the shop, as far as possible by standing near me and look at me with angry feelings that I detain them to go to home, finally from their work. I felt as I am at prison with strict rules there🤣 Secondly, I faced experience that I am unfortunately or fortunately 😜 doesn't look like 25+old (am 31). The-very-not-welcoming-cashier asked me to show my ID. I showed it from my phone' photo where is exactly my face and date of my birth as well as Student ID 19+. It didn't work. I tried to go to another cashier, the cashier #2 said me with happy face, mirroring her happy that she finally have break "It's closed here!))😁 After manager came, and didn't decide my problem by responding with high voice to me and causing me not convenient conditions by moving to another cashier, despite it was my turn in line, I asked to complain to the Head Manager. And,,,, guess??? My problem wasn't solve and I have very bad customer experience there as I feel nobody care.... But, one day I meet a girl and boy from cashier who truly wanted to help me. And, I suppose, this kind of people leave this please, because they are not motived in this environment. Pity, pity, pity.... The worst Service I have had!

Once upon a time, you could rely on Waitrose for customer service and good food at their cafe. You would think their Bath branch would make an effort, but, no! After queuing for 15mns, we were told told that they had no hot food on offer today. Fair enough, but, why not put a board up to inform customers first? The front of house team was clearly untrained and not very helpful. Never mind, we left and enjoyed a nice lunch at a nearby cafe. There's no shortage of them in Bath.

A nice place to have coffee and good wifi..will be better when hot meals are cooked again. Evie is always smiling and happy to serve.

If you want nice good food whilst in Bath, then the centrally located Waitrose is the place to go. Like all Waitrose's across the UK

I came here with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I indulged upon a rice cake and glass of water then made my way home soon after. I was feeling a bit cheeky at the time so helped myself to a sachet of mayonaise, the staff didn't even notice! In conclusion, I highly recommend this place to anyone who eats food. Waitrose cafe is a must go!

This is a Waitress Home - that's its description. Its a normal Waitress with a home section attached store. So crockery, cutlery, household lines, small electrical items etc. Plus a spacious and well laid out supermarket/food hall. So after all that - it's a Waitress...

Carries almost anything you might want, located in a busy section of Bath, clean and reasonably priced. Expect a crowd. It does offer food for eating on the premises, on an out front deck, but it is primarily a grocery store.

Good range of products and staff are helpful and friendly. Has a John Lewis section which is small but things can be ordered in and collected

If you want to call in for a good choice of high standard provisions this supermarket is perfect. There are a good selection of both local and national goods and the staff are always willing to help. Reasonable choice of snacks and coffee.

Clean, neat and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious avocado on toast, which was still warm, thank goodness. Fab coffee. Same menu as in all Waitrose cafes. Recommended, especially as reasonably priced for Bath!

I went to the Waitrose cafe hoping to restore my faith that a supermarket cafe could make a basic soup.. I sadly was let down. Another tasteless soup. Disappointing.

They make the sushi fresh and on site. If you wait around for them to do a new batch, it's worth it! The salmon and tempura boxes are amazing!

Girando a Bath ho trovato questo grande negozio , tipo ipermercato di alimentari, ed ho acquistato a basso costo acqua minerale, mirtilli (grandissimi) e una vaschetta di frutta tagliata a macedonia, mi sono trovata molto bene.

Awful experience in Waitrose cafe. Rude staff who clearly know next to nothing about customer service. Felt disregarded and ignored. I was with my 5 year old and we are Bath residents! Don't want to go back.

Great place to get some grab-and-go food. We managed to keep our dining budget low in Bath by eating lunch with foods from Waitrose every day. Sandwiches, wraps, fresh fruit, drinks; we got it all here for less than 15 pounds a day, and much healthier than fast food options.

Popped in to quickly feed my daughter and thought we’d grab two toasted sandwiches to have alongside her. Anyone with a toddler knows you have a short window to eat, hence the choice of toasted sandwiches. Unfortunately despite the cafe being less than half full we had to wait 15 minutes for the sandwiches to be toasted, we chased twice and were offered no apology. We ended up asking for the sandwiches to be wrapped up so we could take them with us; this seemed an unreasonable request if the partner’s attitude is anything to go by. There was however time for partners to admonish two separate groups of customers for what they had brought into the cafe area. Of course by the time we’d gotten home the sandwiches were overly greasy. Won’t be coming again as the store’s recent attempts to improve the cafe experience don’t seem to have worked.

Came into the cafe the other day for a quick breakfast and coffee. I was served by a young man named Rory who was extremely knowledgeable and humorous, he took a real interest in what I was doing with my day. Will definitely be coming back due to the outstanding customer service.

Some of the staff here could use training to the effect that they are in the hospitality trade, and as such they would do better to help and assist in all reasonable customer requests, rather than take pains to point out what they feel unable to help with. Don't waste time telling me what you can't do - just consider how you can help. This paradigm shift would help the trip advisor ratings a great deal.

We are a regular Waitrose shopper in Surrey. We chose to stay in the Bath Hilton because its next door to the store and there is a car park underneath. The store itself is excellent.

Being a local to Bath I think the extremely negative & appalling review from the visitor was unrecognisable to my local Waitrose in Bath.

Yeh why so expensive the food is good in fact luxury but so expensive never go there and I can't use car park because there's only a 2 hour limit so I can't go to opticians

Wondered around for a long time trying to find certain isles which wasted a lot of time, the service was quite kind as got confused at self-service, helped straight away. The toilets were confusing to find, not very clear again.

Unfriendly, dingy. Not a place to relax and enjoy a coffee. Many other cafes in Bath so much better. With a brand like Waitrose I would expect better.

Visited Coffee Shop on Friday evening with my sister. The toilets were absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper. Hand dryer out of action. Piles and piles of used paper towels strewn everywhere. Floor wet in places. No hand towels left to dry hands on. Really Waitrose! Not what I expect from you! Many other people also stunned at what they saw.

Followed around the Bath store by security. Being made to feel extremely uncomfortable. Nice view upstairs onto the street. Scones were absolutely delicious made with buttermilk and warmed if you ask. Nice coffee and tea in china cups.

I visit The Podium Waitrose several times a week , at various times of the day & the staff are exemplary & the cuisine delicious & varied.The only flaw seems to be with some of the customers, who do their utmost to upset the hard working staff. One fails to understand their unjustified critisism, & the demands are far & above what one should expect & yet the delightful staff oblidge to the customer's every need.I have even witnessed one customer photographing a hair which she had taken from her head & placed on her plate in order to have a free meal.How sad that a store that desreves the highest praise & gives so generosly to customers gets taken for granted .Where will those customers sup when the complimentary coffee is no longer offered.Could any of us provide a better service? I think not !

I've come to really enjoy Waitrose after having it close to a Kensington hotel last stay, and the HIlton hotel in Bath this time. They have a large take-out department that includes a sushi counter, as well as a wide variety of snacks, treats, and a cake counter. They do charge five pence for shopping bags, so pack a collapsible bag if you can--it's always nice to have a small bag for carrying things around in, anyway.

Last Sunday morning , 18 June, I was in Waitrose having an early morning coffee and I can't speak highly enough of the service I received from the young lady behind the counter. So helpful - well done. I used an independent coffee shop today, not in Bath, and had the most appalling service and this is what has prompted me to write this review.

Shockingly rude abrupt service. Staff desperately need training in how to deal with the public. Supermarket downstairs even worse and no manager in sight.

We are residents of Bath and are completely disgusted with the Waitrose Cafe. During the last few weeks we have tried to have a simple lunch of soup with a roll. On each of the last three occasions we have queued for up to ten minutes, only to be told that there is no soup left. Each time this was between one and one fifteen. The cafe itself looked disgusting. Tables looked as though they not been cleared all day with people clearing one table onto another to make a space. The floors were filthy and nobody looked happy. We asked to speak to the manager and asked why there was no soup available when it was being shown on the menu - and it was only just one o'clock. She said that they had sold out quickly because an insufficient supply had been delivered. We asked why an insufficient supply had been ordered and she said it had been, but the full order had not been delivered. We then asked why a notice had not been displayed to say that no soup was available and she replied that she knew there had been such notices but she did not know where they were.We then asked why the tables were in such a terrible state and she said she did not have enough staff. We asked why this was and she said Waitrose employed students on a casual basis and they joined and left at very short notice. We asked wether this was an unsuccessful attempt by Waitrose to run the cafe on a unworkably cheap basis - and she had to admit that it is.We did not, as planned, do our food shopping in the store but walked along to Marks and Spencer where we obtained our soup and roll in pleasant surroundings with no problem -and did our weekly food shopping.This actually is the last straw with Waitrose and I see no reason why we would visit this store again.

Light, airy and souls, not an inspiring space at all. Service slow as usual and not really much happening.

Large range of everything Waitrose, well-stocked shelves, wide variety of basic and luxury items. Great deli counters, wide range of wines. As we have come to expect from Waitrose, the staff are helpful and polite. Podium car park provides good access and plenty of parking, but the one way system can catch you out if you don't know your way around Bath and make finding the car park difficult.

I visited the café today and ordered a smoothie- only the one drink, no food and it wasn't particularly busy in my opinion! I waited twenty minutes before I could even order and another forty minutes until my drink arrived. It was ridiculous. I've never had to wait that long for a drink anywhere and I've been to much busy locations. There were plenty of staff around but my table still had trays on from the previous users which weren't taken away until I was about to leave and even then they didn't clean the table when they took it away. I don't think I saw someone go around and clean the tables at all and many of the tables ended up with trays piled up. I've decided never to visit again- I found the service appalling, the café itself not particularly tidy and the whole place just didn't seem to run well. There needs to be a serious rethink about how they work.

Be wary parking here.We used the car park for an hour and on return inserted the token into the machine, paid for our ticket and got a receipt.. No sign of any returned token and when we got to the barrier the manager refused to come out to open the barrier or look at our receipt. The only way to exit was to buy a 'replacement' token (ironic when we didn't have one in the first place or if there was one we didn't see it) for £25 to leave.So that was £29 for one hour of parking. Pure extortion.

Filthy seats and arms of chairs. Dirty floors, highchairs never cleaned. Dirty uncleared tables, Half the food on menu unavailable. This cafe has gone downhill.

I liked the food in cafe as we visited for christmas market. The cafe was very busy but we did not have to wait long and the food presentation was fantastic despite how busy it was. I have to say, I was disappointed with the hot drink as they did not make them very hot. When I complaint to one of the staff she was very friendly and happy to make another one. Guess what?She made our drinks again and this time they were very hard. Her name was Manzar.I definitely recommend waitrose and the cafe for food and HOT drink specially if you have mywaitrose card.

The Christmas markets bring in so many people & we were desperate for a coffee but everywhere was full & then we saw Waitrose with some tables outside so armed with out loyalty cards we went in bought a cake (lunch) and had our free coffee sitting at the outside tables. If you find the Abbey your'e not far away.

I have had some great service, but also awful when a chicken leaked bloody juice all over me and they were no help at all. Food is nice, but overpriced. Get a Waitrose card and you can get a free coffee but this can involve long queues.

we bought tapas food yesterday ...we dont have a waitrose near us in neath so we made the most of it on a church outing...the food was incredible..great value for money too....please come to west wales....

I came for a breakfast in the upstairs cafe. I had put off coming in before because Waitrose often leans towards a more financially lucrative clientele (in other words everything is expensive). The cafe wasn't so much a rip off though so I thought I'd treat myself to a lovely breakfast at a good price and enjoy it.Suffice it to say it was a game of two halves. The service was lovely. The staff were polite, when I asked for a change to the advertised meal, it wasn't too much trouble. The gentleman who served me was nice and made good eye contact with both myself and the other customers. The food came quickly and everything was just as you could want. The problem was the actual breakfast. For £7 it wasn't quite what I had in mind. The toast was nice and the bacon was done just right - not burned to a crisp but not under the grill for half a minute either. However the beans weren't particularly anything to shout out about and the mushrooms were awful. They tasted of some kind of wash up after taste and when I swallowed I felt something sharp in them. It felt like glass (but clearly wasn't); I think it was probably plastic. But there was something. Who knows? I didn't complain because I dont like to make a fuss and besides which I had already swallowed, but end of the day, I don't ever want to try their mushrooms again. They tasted vile, contained sharp horrible objects and this from me who adores mushrooms!So it's a bit of a game of two halves. I felt that the service and staff were excellent and the breakfast itself was almost worth the price, but the bad experience of the mushrooms and the general lack of anything particularly great for the price put a bit of a damp squid on it. I would actually use the cafe again but not for breakfast.

One of my favorite places to shop on vacation is grocery stores and this one is one of my favorites. I like to buy stocking stuffers for Christmas on my trips since we are from the USA. I found a set of wooden spoons with pastel handles made in Poland, cute tins for tea, fun tea towels and spices that are not available where I live. We bought food too including premade sandwiches which were tasty. They have lots of snacks, bakery items and chocolate to choose from. Overall, a wonderful store.

I came here with my family for a drink and so I could sort my little boy out. I went to change him to find I had to change him on the sink side. The changing facilities you have are shocking. Need updating. While we were there they was no clean tables no clean cutlery and no staff.

The food here is lovely. No complaints there. The sushi bar is incredible. Your staff however are just rude. There is no way around it. They talk to each other on the tills, give judgmental looks, and then are out right rude to your face. Never a smile or a 'have a nice day'. One worded blunt answers to questions. Honestly, I'm not offended I just think the customer service is pathetic and for a supermarket that claims to be better quality in everything it's a bit of a joke.

The staff throughout the store are par excellent..and..the coffee shop staff are the ultimate ambassadors for Waitrose.Their kindness, patience,politeness,& endurance is BEYOND perfection.Sadly many of the customers are rude, impolite,& not worthy of the courtesy shown by the staff.The majority of these unappreciative customers are those who partake of a complimentary coffee, & spend endless time on their computers.It is a privelidge to be a customer of my Bath store.Thank you to those on the shop floor & behind the scenes.

My wife and I popped in for a sandwich and drinks. Very helpful and polite staff as always. We were greeted politely and as we left we were politely seen off.

I went for lunch with my 3 daughters, queue short, service fast, lunch for 21. 00 for 4, can't argue with that in Bath!

I occasionally go back to see if things have improved, but as others have said there is not enough staff in the cafe. The queue to order food is often long, then it is difficult to find a table, followed by a long wait for your order. Quality of food is fine, but otherwise a negative experience - such a shame. Usually decamp to St Michael's church over the road, which is a haven of quiet with half a dozen tables and lovely food.

Visited here last week to pick up something quick for lunch and the sushi station is a sight to be seen.. Three extremely informative and pleasant staff making fresh sushi for the takeaway counter. Chose a selection platter for my daughter and I to share for lunch and it was excellent.. Shame the coffee machine wasn't working yet again and the staff didn't seem too concerned about filling it up and getting it operational again ..

The staff look busy, but are mostly busy wondering what to do next - and serving customers is not high on the list. We've had many poor experiences - and finally walked out when a staff member challenged my wife and I because the names on our My Waitrose cards 'didn't match' (hers is in her maiden name, and I fail to see what it's got to do with them anyway, but apparently 'it's the rules'). We've had dirty cups and plates, cups contaminated by dishwasher liquid and, in short, enough of this place period. The loos are also terrible - a tap has been out of order for months, and other fixtures and fittings are broken. Waitrose need to sort this store out.

The coffee machine and surrounding area was filthy as were the tables and (very limited) seating. Had to clean seats before sitting down. A customer went around picking up and disposing of discarded cups etc. Not a pleasant experience. Couldn't believe it was Waitrose.
