Elementally, I write to express my sincere heartfelt appreciation & gratitude for Meg [Floor Associate]. She delivered a highly professional & competent customer service, which she provided in both a friendly and accessible manner. Meg [Floor Associate], is incredibly "attentive" every time I come to eat at The King of Wessex [J D Weatherspoon], Bath & goes to great lengths to check on how my day had gone, which is what makes a "curated" high quality pub experience in my view. She produced a extremely satisfying customer experience from start to finish, for which I will always be grateful for. Furthermore, I would absolutely recommend, Meg [Floor Associate], as she was incredibly curating, extremely knowledgeable about the Weatherspoon's Menu & punctilious throughout my "lovely customer experience". I would strongly recommend "The King Wessex Bath" duo, to their eclectic distinguished atmosphere, great range in food options & unbeatable collection of beverages. We visited the King of Wessex Wetherspoon in Bath for breakfast on the weekend, and as the only Wetherspoon in the city, it was absolutely packed. Despite how busy it was, the staff were quick and efficient with our order, which was impressive. The food was tasty and served hot, and as expected from Wetherspoon, the prices were very affordable, making it a great value-for-money option. The atmosphere was lively, though it can get quite crowded during peak times. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a budget-friendly meal in Bath, but be prepared for a busy environment, especially on weekends.

Weatherspoons pubs are great value for money and this one has plenty of tables and is in a convenient central location.

Food not overly amazing unfortunately. We ordered freedom breakfast, which I've had in several other wetherspoons as its an easy gluten free choice. However, this took almost 20mins to be served to us, and came out lukewarm at best. The waiting staff seemed to be quite overwhelmed, but the pub wasn't overly busy, maybe half full. Pub was clean, toilets were decent, although I'm not keen on the fact they have camera in the sink area part of the loos. The cubicles themselves have tall doors, so I doubt the camera could see in, but even so, not a pleasant thought. All in all quite disappointing, I know spoons is a quick and easy option for things like brunch, but it's not as good as I'd hoped

I appreciate a good weatherspoons and this is definitely not one of them, it's scruffy and the toilets are disgusting. Didn't have food as I couldn't bring myself to do it. For some reason I expected Bath to do better but in this case it failed.

Nice pub good wheelchair access just no parking

We have just finished our meal at the King of Wessex pub in Bath, our meals were cold, my wife had the mixed grill and her meat was tough and cold. I had the sausages with chips and beans, the sausages were barely warm and the beans were stone cold. I used to be a chef and am well aware how quickly baked beans and a mixed grill can cool so more should and could have been done to avoid this.

A typical weatherspoons experience, with Friendly staff and Prompt service . We had breakfast which was as described, hot and great value.

Wetherspoons #128 visited. This is the first time I've managed to visit this Spoons branch, on my previous two visits to Bath, the pub was absolutely rammed, and was unable to find a table. A reasonable sized branch, situated on the western side of the City Centre, in the Kingsmead Entertainment complex. Not too far from the old Bath Green Park Station. Ordered at the Bar in this occasion. Ordered a Big Cheese Burger, a double burger with Brie and cheese sauce. This came with chips, two Haloumi fries, and a pint of Leffe Blonde. This was on special offer for £9.96. This was one of the burgers being offered as part of the Xmas 2024 menu. The pub was reasonably busy on this visit, and managed to find a table towards the rear of the pub. Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Unfortunately the chips and Halloumi fries were lukewarm. However, the overall meal was OK. Edit: Returned around 8pm after a long trek round Bath. Had the 10" Southern Fried Chicken Wrap, and what appeared to be a large portion of chips! Not bad for £6.67 - with the pint of Leffe Blonde. Only issue was the wrap didn't come with the smokey Chipotle mayo, clearly someone forgot to add it, so was a bit dry. Wetherspoons really needs a second branch in Bath, not only because this pub can get very busy, but also due to it being a distance from the main part of the large City Centre. I doknow plans were afoot for a second branch, hopefully will happen at some point in the future.

Great VFM plenty of seating and swift service. Food was good - no issues.

This is Wetherspoons. I have come to expect atmosphere, service, a great range of beers, coffee and excellent value-for- money. My son and I experienced all of them. Warm, bright, modern and central. This was a great venue for us to dine. Very friendly staff too!

Have to many tables and chairs in pub can't move in they food not hot when you get it

Visitamos un viernes y sábado por la noche. Una típica Wetherspoons con una gran selección de bebidas - Guinness a £ 4 la pinta era £ 2. 50 más barato que otros lugares en Bath. Servicio súper rápido a través de la aplicación. La comida era buena también. Muy ocupados con muchos estudiantes hicieron difícil conseguir una mesa, pero no dejamos de sentarnos. Al entrar, una portera se mostró reacia a dejarme entrar diciendo que no me parezco a mi identificación, luego entrando la escucho decir “nunca se sabe con los asiáticos, ya que todos se parecen”. Encontré esto profundamente ofensivo, ya que estoy llevando a uno de mis clientes aquí para no armar un escándalo, pero me gustaría que esto se tratara de una manera profesional.

They got my order wrong and it too long for them to change it. My onion bhaji was a bit burn. The lady at the counter was chatting with her colleague and not paying attention to me.

Large modern Wetherspoons pub, one of their better ones. Swift and friendly service, high standard of cleanliness. Food arrived promptly and was a decent portion size.

Very exciting Spoons!! The toilets are on the same level as the pub! NO STAIRS! Fab breakfast as always, in the town, next to a cinema. Came here for opening at 8am and still not the first ones in 🤪 Love a Wetherspoons. Absolutely spotless.

I went there to watch the rugby I had a decaff coffee which was terrible but the atmosphere was fantastic they do a lovely full English breakfast can recommend

Terrible attitude from the staff, very unhelpful when the app told me as a visitor I was in the right pub to order! When I asked for help they replied with to bad!!! Won’t recommend this to anyone.

Got to love a Spoons for breakfast. Very busy and service wasn't too bad. Slow to clear the tables and top up the milk for the tea and coffee. Not keen on those ridiculous drink dispensers.

In a quieter part of the city area, the site is on a road near a crossing. Everything is on one level. The day we visited, it was busy with Christmas drinks and lunch. However, the service was quick, the tables were being cleared and cleaned with speed. Everything was clean and tidy. The team was pleasant, polite, helpful and friendly.

Went for lunch after going to the Christmas markets,food was poor,service was bad,the place was packed,worst food I have ever had the misfortune to eat,I was really disappointed,too many people rammed into too small a room,I don't recommend eating here when the pub is busy

We had Chicken Tikka Masala and Jafferi. With Naan and a drink for each. The food was great! Plus, it was on a thursday, we got the thurrsday meal deal 😍

Can't speak of the food as we did not have any. Pub was lovely and clean bar staff was amazing and fast, drinks were cheap and everyone in the pub was there to have a good time. Really loved it and will go back. We'll done to all the staff. 5 stars.

Our experience at King of Wessex pub Bath was one of the most impressive in a Wetherspoon. We arrived for food at a busy time but young Callum was immediately so helpful in personally seeking out a table still free. Really helpful and polite. Our steak was a little more rare than we wanted but immediately he was on the case and Craig who had also brilliantly and helpfully sorted out a salad problem got attentively involved to ensure everything went smoothly and that we were happy. Amazing. These two are ambassadors for this chain and deserve acclaim. Thanks. It's understandable that mistakes happen at any level in life from the mundane to the globally historic, but Craig and Callum gave a masterclass in how to deal with problems with focus, energy and impeccable discretion. Many thanks.

Came here cause you know it's going to be a cheap meal & pint. The pint was fine but the curry was just warm. It is a case of you get what you pay for

It's all that Weather spoons are good at. Value for money, good food on a budget. Plenty of seating. Good value offers across the board. Great access to all. Polite staff. Bar and table service through the app. Toilets which are accessible to all. Warm surroundings. Fairly central to all.

Okay, so we went to The King of Wessex, and honestly? What a disaster. We were so looking forward to a good meal, but it ended up being a total mess. We ordered a ham and mushroom pizza with extra chicken breast, plus two crunchy chicken and a Korean sticky chicken with rice. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. The pizza arrived with just ONE piece of crunchy chicken on top. At first, we didn't even notice the chicken breast was missing. But then we asked, and they insisted it was already on there. Yeah, right. So, we showed them a picture of the pizza, and surprise, surprise – no chicken breast! Then they bring us this tiny bowl of plain, tasteless chicken breast. Like, seriously? Why use our crunchy chicken as a topping when we ordered chicken breast? It makes no sense! The other dishes were fine, but the whole pizza fiasco just ruined the mood. It felt like they weren't paying attention to our order at all. We left feeling super annoyed and like they didn't care. Hopefully, they'll read this and get their act together. But until then, we're definitely not going back.

It is one of the better pubs in this chain. The food was good but took ages to arrive and it was the same story for the drinks. Very busy when we were there at lunchtime on a Saturday.

One of the staff was very rude waited 10 minutes for her to come back to finish pouring a Guinness & then she argued with us. 2nd October @ 6.20pm

It was the only pub open in Bath that let us sit down for dinner at 8.30pm on Sunday! A large pub where as well as drinking you can order food, we had a hamburger with chips for 5.72 pounds, cheaper than McDonald's and of good quality. quality.

Food was'nt that brilliant had fish n chips were a bit pale, not enough chips, fish a bit small have a bigger piece from our locally chippyI.did enjoy my steak and ale pie yet again I would have liked a tiny bit more mash ,wouldnt go back at all a bit expensive for the size of portion you get.

I just went there for an orange juice and lemonade - so I can't comment on the beers! I foolishly locked my e-bike up to a folded up table as there's no provision to lock bikes to anything. I was a bit perturbed when I came out to see that my ebike and tables had vanished. Fortunately, they had taken reasonable care and put it in the storage facility with the table still attached!

Estaba muy ocupado cuando llegamos a las 6 : 30 pm, pero logramos encontrar una buena mesa para sentarnos. Me habían dicho que el pescado con papas fritas Wetherspoons era excelente y ciertamente no decepcionó! Era delicioso, un tamaño generoso y un gran precio. El pudín de toffee pegajoso también estaba muy bueno y tuvimos algunos cócteles, tragos y bombas al mismo tiempo que estaban bien, pero han sabido mejor en otros establecimientos. Sin embargo, no puedo quejarme del precio.

Good food and service here. My reason for 2 stars is the poor accessibility for disabled people in mobility scooters. The front of the pub is full of high tables and stools, which disabled people would find difficult to use. The gangways through these tables to reach the normal tables at the backend of the pub are too narrow to get a mobility scooter through. We did manage to get a table outside, and the meal was good. Interior layout needs some changes

Best I’ve encountered at a Wetherspoons and the cleanliness matched it also,table cleared as soon as people left their tables and the toilets never had one bit of rubbish inside all the paper towel all put in the bin,it may be the clientele that frequent here but all in all a. Nice change to most wetherspoons

The food is awful. The staff are so friendly and hardworking it’s really nothing against them. We came for breakfast very tired and very hungry so we were very disappointed when half the toast was charcoal black and the other was basically still bread, the bacon was tough and tasted burnt, the tea spoon of beans you were given was cold anyway and the coffee tasted more burnt than the toast. I think the prices are great and they do get very busy but definitely need a new toaster and well there’s definitely plenty of room for improvement which the owner should take into consideration when ordering more stock.

I love the King of Wessex... always seems to be room ... choice of types of seating from high stools up front to couches down at the back.. Great choice of drink and its really cheap

Service quick and efficient. Food was jacket potato and vegan con carne with a little salad on the side. Taste was good. Lots of tables full of leftovers quite a mess, cleared my own table though was in need of a wipe Not sure if this is a staff issue. Hard to move around as too many tables in the way.
