It was very busy when we arrived at 6:30pm, but we managed to find a good table to sit at. I’d been told the Wetherspoons fish and chips was excellent and it certainly didn’t disappoint! It was delicious, a generous size and great price. The sticky toffee pudding was also very good and we had some cocktails, shots and bombs at the same time which were alright, but have tasted better at other establishments. Can’t grumble at the price though.

Good food and service here. My reason for 2 stars is the poor accessibility for disabled people in mobility scooters. The front of the pub is full of high tables and stools, which disabled people would find difficult to use. The gangways through these tables to reach the normal tables at the backend of the pub are too narrow to get a mobility scooter through. We did manage to get a table outside, and the meal was good. Interior layout needs some changes

Food was cold, pizza dough wasn't cooked properly, chips were hard. For £40 would never go there again

I speak as I find and cannot have a bad word to say about this place,staff are the. Best I’ve encountered at a Wetherspoons and the cleanliness matched it also,table cleared as soon as people left their tables and the toilets never had one bit of rubbish inside all the paper towel all put in the bin,it may be the clientele that frequent here but all in all a. Nice change to most wetherspoons

The food is awful. The staff are so friendly and hardworking it’s really nothing against them. We came for breakfast very tired and very hungry so we were very disappointed when half the toast was charcoal black and the other was basically still bread, the bacon was tough and tasted burnt, the tea spoon of beans you were given was cold anyway and the coffee tasted more burnt than the toast. I think the prices are great and they do get very busy but definitely need a new toaster and well there’s definitely plenty of room for improvement which the owner should take into consideration when ordering more stock.

I love the King of Wessex... always seems to be room ... choice of types of seating from high stools up front to couches down at the back.. Great choice of drink and its really cheap

Typical ‘spoons, soulless and full of all day drinkers. Bar staff unfriendly, told the guy next to me “if you don’t like it, go and drink somewhere else”….savage.

Standard spoons, not a lot of character to this one but staff were friendly, drinks on the pricierside for a spoons but still way cheaper than other pubs

Service quick and efficient. Food was jacket potato and vegan con carne with a little salad on the side. Taste was good. Lots of tables full of leftovers quite a mess, cleared my own table though was in need of a wipe Not sure if this is a staff issue. Hard to move around as too many tables in the way.

Quick service like most spoons nowadays food was OK although my chicken sharawa was literally swimming in to much sauce! Modern small and soulless! Wouldn't return but probably cheapest place to get a meal and a drink in bath.

Friendly value for money pub, we all ate and our food arrived quickly, well cooked and hot. Our waiter Ti was very really helpful fetching straws for us even though he was clearly extremely busy.

Stopped for breakfast in Bath while driving down to Devon. The King Of Wessex looked like the place for us. It's a Wetherspoons and so we knew what we were going to get. Bath is a lovely place to have a wander around and the pub seemed like an ideal spot to get a feed at bargain prices. We ordered two traditional breakfasts from the reasonably cheery youngster who was manning the bar. He did his best to sound pleased to be at work and very nearly succeeded. Almost. The breakfasts arrived in good time despite the fact that the pub was very busy indeed. They were good though not brilliant, The food was warm and just about cooked but very forgettable. It did the the job, just. OK, just not brilliant.

Stayed for two nights on Bath. Sent for a drink and three small plates. Service at bar friendly and good. Watched he open kitchen as chefs wiped her sweat off their brow and adjusted their hair over the food. Food arrived.Pizza burned and chips clearly fried in old bad tasting oil. I know it's not the Ritz but place is unhygienic with food on floor. Old oil and basic health and safety not followed by chef

Stopped here for a beer on a wet Saturday afternoon. Very busy with a great atmosphere. Many real ales, lagers, ciders, wines and drinks to choose from. All at very good prices. The food menu looked good. Plenty of tables and chairs and toilets at the back.

Very relaxed. Plenty of seating. Good quality food on both our visits this week. Service maybe a bit slow but otherwise all good!

Staff and doormen are very rude, went for England game there do not like ppl being happy and got told to be quite.... when drinks order on line wait over 25 mins had to ask a few times where my drink was never got a sorry...

I went there to watch the rugby I had a decaff coffee which was terrible but the atmosphere was fantastic they do a lovely full English breakfast can recommend

Popped in just before going into the cinema, nice, clean place and the staff are great, however it would be great if someone could teach them to pour a pint properly!

Good place for a beer, burger and chips... new items on menu and a good choice of beers fairly cheap. Near town and Odeon cinema and sports centre.

We called in here for a quick snack on the way back to the hotel. We had a problem with the meal, which at the end was resolved. Thanks to Craig, the shift manager that evening, who did everything he could to resolve the issue. Excellent customer service x 10/10.

I h & bateerave been here for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were warm, friendly & efficient. Food was good and good value for money. Just had the small fish, chips & mushy peas with drink included for just £7 & the food was delicious, fish & batter were perfect as were the chips & mushy peas. Great food & affordability for those on a budget 👍

28 of us eat here on Monday 3rd June, exceptional service from team leader Jimmy and his colleagues, and no complaints about the food and drinks either.

Modern wetherspoons with a large open plan table floorspace. Service was prompt and ordered through the app, which is pretty customary in any spoons nowadays. Choice of food and drink is exactly as you'd expect across the wetherspoon estate of pubs. Marked down to 4 ⭐️'s as the disabled toilet had flooded and whilst the area was marked off appropriately, to get to the gents was quite the adventure where flippers amd snorkeling gear would be recommended 🤿! All in all, if you're in Bath and looking for somewhere reliable and likely very similar to a wetherspoons you'd be used to in your local area, the king of Wessex will not disappoint.

Had none of the food or drinks we wanted so we left

It's 'just' a Wetherspoons. We didn't eat as it was just a bit too noisy for us older folks. It seems to always be going like a fair and the drink prices are the usual bargains. 'Nearly all' of the staff work tirelessly, as most customers seem to sit at a table and use the app nowadays, so they do mostly table service. They were constantly delivering food & drink, cleaning tables or sweeping up. The kitchen, glass washing and bar staff were kept on the move - no slouching here!

Food was what you'd expect of a wetherspoons, very crowded though, and took 20-30 minutes for food to reach the table.

A very busy weatherspoons food was expensive for what you received beer more expensive than other spoons pubs and as usual can't sit outside unless you smoke

Weird staff member interfered with stuff on our table, right next to our baby,whilst we were eating. Not keen to return.

Decent city centre Wetherspoons. Ordered on the app. Drinks came out quickly. Food a bit longer but it was really hot (rare for Wetherspoons) and the plate was hot too (again rare!). LOL Lovely fish and chips and other half enjoyed his burger. Not food to get excited about but well priced.

The staff are on point and so is the beer. The food is also pukka and has a great vibe going on.

I came in for breakfast and it was about what you expect from a wetherspoons, cold beans, burnt mushrooms and stodgy black pudding.... The drink was fine and the service was ok considering there was only 1 young girl running around serving all of the food (she did very well) my main issue however is that when I used the toilet they were dirty and smelly, I washed my hands and went to leave but on my way out I noticed a sign that said they have cameras in the communal areas of the toilets, again this is fine as their was a camera near the sink ...... What bothered me is the camera right above the urinal I just used and who needs access to see my naughty bits.

Visited this pub today for drinks and ordered them on the app 15mins later no drinks whent to the bar to ask where they were,and the staff gave me a poor excuse of being under staffed, i say not the customers fault bad management she handed me my drinks and told me as I was at the bar to take them to the table my self, what's the point in the app,might as well have gone to the bar and just qued for them

We came here for breakfast & ordered on the app, very quick & efficient service, cheap but very tasty & worth a visit. One of the smallest "spoons" I've visited but nice all the same.

We decided to pop in here for a few drinks on a Monday and walked upto the bar to order a couple of drinks. After standing there waiting for the young lad that was at our end of the bar to serve us it became quite clear that he had no intention on serving us as we should have been the next to be served yet he decided to move down the other side of the bar to then serve people that queued up after we had already been there 5 minutes or more. I did make a comment about this to another member of staff who did serve us but was given some lame excuse. We then got ourselves a table and just ordered through the app as we have done before in many other weatherspoons. This one was in no rush to get the drinks over to people. 3 times I had to go to the bar and just pick the drinks up as they were just sat there and no one was in any hurry to get them to the tables. Wouldn’t be rushing back here even if it is cheaper than most places. Bath has so many nicer pubs that’s worth just paying that little bit more

Always really impressed by the service at this Wetherspoons- best customer experience of any Wetherspoons I’ve been too. I was there for lunch today and the food was only what felt like a few minutes late and the staff apologised and offered us free drinks!

Food okay, facilities filthy, not good

This is a Wetherspoon's towards the lower end in terms of how it feels. It is essentially just clubbed on to a shopping centre and is the only one in Bath. Therefore, it is wildly small for the population that could use it. Of course, always good prices, but always hectic and usually not sitting space.

Food is tasty, not perfect but nice. Service is bit slow , waiting times are sometimes 30min++. Atmosphere there is horrible, everywhere is dirty and smell is so bad, most of the place smell like vomit or pee. They clean so much but still you can see that is not clean.

As Wetherspoons go & we've been to a lot of them up & down the country, this is a very good one, but not as good as our favourite one in Whitby, The Angel Hotel.

Great to chill out after a day at work

This is a nice place, with friendly service and avery decent fish and chips. It's also tidy and clean, which is not usual among whetherspoons. Thumbs up on this!

Typical Wetherspoon pub. Nice atmosphere. Very good, friendly and efficient service. They probably hold the record for the most convenient conveniences in the country. As always well priced beers and value for money food. Unfortunately, over two visits in two days there was a severe need for the tables to be cleared and cleaned (it didn't happen). I appreciate it was busy, but they must try harder. Don't let standards drop please.

Wetherspoon is always a great choice when travelling on a budget. We had lunch and breakfast here and this allowed us to stay on budget. The food is fine even if some options weren’t available (like the lemon and herbs chicken).

I ordered chicken tikka and hubby had the chilli. We did not have to wait very looking for our order to come. The meal was hot. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Visited Wetherspoon's on a Saturday late afternoon. It wasn't too busy, so that was alright. Service was decently quick, and the food was better than expected. Might be worth a go if you're in the area.

Often busy in this wetherspoons as lots of university students are nearby. Really good option for food and drink on a budget in Bath. Next to the cinema and right in the middle of Bath shopping and entertainment area. Parking lot is opposite. If you are on your own then get a table and order on the App , enjoy 👍🏼
