Graze Bar- Brewery and Chophouse in Bath and North East Somerset

Seems to have lost some of its original magic. We enjoyed a few drinks and really good food previously. Ordered Chateaubriand to share, was tough. Staff seemed stressed over all disappointing from our previous couple of visits. Gave us the impression as gone from great atmosphere, vibrant and relaxed dining to more like a rowdy watering hole. The cocktails weren’t as good as we remembered either sadly.

Greeted by a very friendly young lady at the door who showed us to our table unfortunately it went downhill from then on in. The menu is about half as long as the menu they advertise online - fish and chips and steak being about it. What really irritated however was we spent about 20 minutes at our table trying to get a drinks menu being completely ignored by several members of staff. Gave up in the end and just walked out. They obviously couldn't care less there which I have to say is surprising for a business run by St Austell brewery, in my experience their customer service is usually excellent

This venue has a stunning location and what must be a great place to eat and drink on a warm summer evening being set three floors up with views over Bath…not so much on a wet March evening….. but when it’s w floors up and the only lift is broken for at least 3 days and the stairway up to it is filthy with litter strewn everywhere it’s not so impressive. Nor is the service in the bar which was quite empty considering the size of the huge bar/restaurant area with very little atmosphere. It took 10 minutes to get a drink with only2 people ahead of us waiting at the bar because the bar staff were over by the kitchen chatting amongst themselves, when two of them returned after a few minutes, only one served and was very slow in his work whilst the other female member of staff just stood by the glass washing machine and emptied it one glass at a time. Honestly the service was appalling. We were going to eat here but having seen the service and the menu which was overpriced for the quality of the food that came out we decided to go elsewhere. I can only imagine if this bar was busy then it would be even worse .

A large extremely spacious restaurant at the top of a building next to the railway station; on a chilly night we walked into a welcoming warmth. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated quickly. We were given menus and ordered after queries about the menu, which the young waiter was unable to answer. After considerable delay and many queries about when we might be fed, the food arrived and was less than average, with the fish and chips spoiled by the huge amount of overdone batter and dry peas, even the chips were disappointing. Our waiter didn’t have a clue what was going on which led to some amusement (and frustration). So a really disappointing meal with pretty simple food made rather unpalatable and poor service from our sloppily dressed waiter (trouser zip/buttons not done up, shirt mostly hanging out). To be fair, we did question the very slow service with the manager who reduced our bill and said they were two staff down - we failed to understand the relevance of this as very few tables were occupied.

Me and Mt fiance went for Sunday roast and it was absolulty fantastic . We had starters soup and calamari both super delicious. Staff very helpful kind and honest. It was our first time visiting and won't be the last booking again now to come back again !

I went to Graze with 6 friends for coffee & ended up staying for roast Sunday lunch. The staff were very helpful, attentive & very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The coffee was good & the lunch was outstanding. The presentation was perfect, it was also delicious, I would definitely recommend Graze, it was worth every penny. Our waitress was Eve, she was superb.

Amelie was fantastic she looked after us all evening and nothing was too much trouble . It was great to see such good customer service. 5 stars

We were looking for a place to eat at before going to the Forum in Bath, we found this absolute gem of a place. The food was amazing (we have eaten in some exclusive places) our server Amelie was polite, courteous and built a nice rapport. All of the staff are friendly and courteous. We would highly recommend this place (the cider cream sauce is to die for)

Popped in after arriving at Bath Spa station. Amelie was a very professional and kind waitress, making sure we enjoyed our experience. We went for a Chateaubriand to share which was a special and it was absolutely amazing. Great value for money, lovely, well priced wines as well. Would definitely recommend :

Me and my husband had two fillets both medium rare with peppercorn sauce and scallops and they was outstanding. Well cooked and perfect too our taste. I was shocked too see when I walked past the kitchen that a girl was on the grill cooking the steaks. I thought she did amazing job! And me and my husband will certainly be visiting again!

Lovely venue with views over the city, food was good but not exciting and the anti pasti kebabs starter were expensive for what they were.Most disappointing is this place has so much potential … the garden by the station is uninspiring and the terrace overlooking the city has a glass rail that was filthy and covered in gull poop. This could be such a lovely venue … but it’s just a bit bland.

6 of us met up for drinks on Saturday - didn't book and got a long table near the bar. The staff looked after us and we had a couple of drinks and then headed off for more drinks in town. Will definitely be back in the coming weeks.

Did not have high expectations of first floor pub next to train station - but was pleasantly surprised - it is large modern restaurant that could be quite soulless - but do not be put off - the staff are very friendly and the food is excellent - it may not be haute cuisine but it takes basic pub grub up a notch - we had burgers which were quite divine - no hesitation recommending Graze - and its location makes an ideal meeting place.

What a fabulous find great food and drink choices staff could not be more helpful thank you Eden you were great. Food was fantastic lots choice good quality. The music in background was also good my hubby convinced it was his playlist great choice.We will definitely be back if we are ever in Bath again

Ate with a friend on a warm evening, and it was great to be able to sit on their roof terrace and watch the world go by as we ate.We had sea bass and red mullet, not the obvious choice in a steak and chop house, but it was very good. The staff were attentive and friendly and the Covid restrictions adhered to rigorously. A very pleasant experience.

I went here with my husband to try some local beers but, despite what they advertise, they only have one of their own on draft. The menu isn't set up for you to understand what's a local ale/beer and we didn't notice until on the way out that most of their brews are bottled. We went here with the purpose of doing a flight board and getting to try a new brewery but were very disappointed and left after having their only draft. I'd describe this place as a restaurant first with the tiniest brew capabilities and would skip it if you're looking for a brewery experience.

The restaurant is right next to the railway station and offers views of the platforms as well as the live departure screens. We arrived at 9pm and managed to get a table and had a very good meal. Good bar selection and friendly staff.

What a treat to go out! This was a business lunch with 4 other colleagues. Very convenient if you’re arriving in Bath Spa by train, as it’s just off the platform. Due to security we had to exit the station and walk around, but no dramas there. We arrived very early, but the staff let us sit at our table til everyone else rocked up. Sanitiser and NHS app registration on entry, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. I had a burger, which some of you carnivores might think is a shame given what the place is famous for, but boy it was good! Planning to return with my family as soon as possible.

I came in with my girlfriend today and were promptly seated. Restraunt was tidy and well laid-out (for Covid safety). Food was absolutely delicious. I opted for the cod and chips which was beautifully presented and the portion was more than enough to satisfy me. The cod was well-cooked with delicious batter and the chips were also delicious and proper quality. My girlfriend opted for the iron steak which was cooked thoroughly and she also said the chips were possibly some of the best she's ever tasted. We didn't choose any deserts as we were very happy and full after a lovely meal. We were served by a waitress named Megan who was very helpful and approachable throughout our time at the premises. 10/10

I have chosen Graze to celebrate my 24th birthday and I couldn't choose a better place. The staff is so lovely, the waitress ROMA and the waiter Valerio were taking care of us all the time. The food and drinks quality were amazing and so I couldn't choose a better place for my special day. Everything was GREAT! ♡

We had lunch for a friend's birthday and Roma, Valerio and the canarian spanish guy were amazing! They made it so much worth it to choose this place to celebrate my friend's birthday. Quick and attentive service from all of them. Nice food and wine. I would definitely come back. I cannot recommend it enough.

This is such a shame as it could have been 5 stars.The food was fabulous and staff very attentive and polite. We were a family of three that all live in the same household and given current restrictions we were comfortable enough to go out and eat in Graze as we have been several times previously. However the enjoyment of our meal was somewhat hampered by a table of four people who were behaving in a manner that I can only describe as obnoxious.

An interesting restaurant, overlooking the railway platform. Great beers and lovely menu. Lots of space, pleasant staff.

Enjoyed my nosebag of ribs, good size portion and sides. My other 0.5 enjoyed her burger as did the two youngsters. Only gripe is the 12.5% service charge I missed (£13) party of 4, given left some cash on the table.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful last meal before lockdown here. Called very last minute and was fortunate to get a table. Had wonderful service from Roma from start to finish even on a busier night, local Bath ale and amazing red wine paired perfectly with the fantastic steak. Would highly recommend.

On a miserable day in Bath we happened on Graze and didn't know what to expect. However, the staff were friendly and efficient, the service was good and the food was gorgeous!

I came here for dinner on Sunday evening, (25th) Quick service I had a fillet medium rare which was very tasty and perfectly cooked. My partner had a fillet medium and he loved his. Both cooked perfectly. I’d like to thank the girl chef that spent time explaining to me which type of steak to have even though I can tell that they were very busy In the kitchen. She was very accommodating.

The wine and beer were goodThe service was very slow even with the social distancing in place. There were two members of staff and a barman on. We had to nod several times to get our first drink and then several more for the second!!Then to add insult to injury without noticing I paid the bill there was a 10% service charge..... For what service.Once queried ad I commented it didn't state this charge on the menu I was promptly refunded. I always tip when the service is good and it should always be my choice. Room for improvement

I’ve been here before and liked it , this time I loved it , squid starter was ok but the beef bourgignon was excellent as was the panna cotta , really good bath ales and the service from the girls was excellent and very attentive

Good food, limited choice, small portion size and hefty £75 for 2 adults 2 small kids with eat in to help out discount... otherwise over £100 .. overpriced and still hungry. Service good.wouldnt do it again at full price as too costly for not enough....

Great beer! Came here to get my fix of Bath Ales while visiting the city. Burger and chips was fine. Nothing special, but tasty.

I came for a meal on the 10th of august in the evening and had booked a table for 2 people, ordering our meal using the app. After a long wait of 1.5 hours for our meal and drinks, I was told that the order hadn’t gone through and they would quickly get our meal sorted. We both ordered steaks medium rare , But when my meal arrived, my steak was red raw and I couldn’t eat it. When i asked for this steak to be cooked a little more I was told that this wasn’t possible as the kitchen has closed.I therefore only ate the chips that arrived with the steak and was not offered any compensation. I should have refused to pay for the meal but I’m not someone who is comfortable making a scene in public.I am bitterly disappointed at the service I received and await your response. I have sent a email to the restaurant manager and have heard no response.Holly

El servicio estaba bien, pero qué mala elección de comida, honestamente puedo decir que no había ni un solo elemento en el menú que me apeteciera. Brilliant location in Bath for good food and beer. We enjoyed some excellent steaks and enjoyed the views across the City. It’s also quite different to have a major train line running alongside the outdoor terrace into the main station. Great staff, very attentive. Good spot to relax and enjoy.

Good location for meeting with friends - close to station with lovely views over the river or town (if you don't like trains, make sure you sit inside or out the front!). The outdoor area at the back was in sunshine all evening and it was beautiful to watch the sun set. Lots of large group tables (well spaced) and some in the shade. Ordering through the app was simple and there were plenty of sanitizing stations throughout. Not all staff were as welcoming, friendly and cheery as others which was a shame as it was a lovely sunny day and a real positive to see it busy during these 'new normal' times. All staff were doing well to follow guidelines and we really appreciated this. There is a limited menu which is quite expensive. Even though the food was tasty, we waited a long time for it to arrive. A good spot for a few drinks:)

Went in for a late mid afternoon lunch and was fairly quite and got a nice socially distanced table. Service was good and food and drinks orders came out in good time. The ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce was excellent and the burger was really tasty too. Prices were ok but they were doing the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme so got £40 off our bill for the 4 of us which was great.

Visited today for lunch with my partner. Wonderful fillet steak cooked to perfection. Friendly service, very clean. Must visit again soon. Highly recommended.

Visited on a Monday lunchtime late in July. Place was very quiet. The wrap we had was very nice. An really good beer on tap. Good service. Covid measures comprehensive. Very large restaurant overlooking Bath railway station. The green GWR trains providing an interesting backdrop. Would benefit from more customers in terms of atmosphere.

Great food, great ales, great service. We stopped for a leisurely lunch and Graze didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere with great service. We'll be back for dinner next time.

The third time we’ve visited for Sunday lunch and the food was, yet again, delicious. We both had roast chicken, but there were other options (pork, beef and nut roast). Amazing gravy and a large selection of vegetables (carrots, parsnips, red and green cabbage, roasted squash, cauliflower cheese) and delicious roast potatoes. Really good food. Thoroughly recommended.

We were in Bath for the weekend and decided on the Saturday afternoon that we wanted to go to a steakhouse. It’s a little challenging trying to book a table for four on a Saturday when Bath RUFC are at home leaving it until the afternoon. I was a little disappointed that the ones recommended to me were all full so I ended up booking here, only disappointed until the food arrived though!The service was great, very attentive and the food was great - steaks for me and my two boys . The layout/ setup does mean that it’s noisy on a Saturday night unfortunately which wasn’t the atmosphere we were going for but apart from that a really good meal.

The bar is next door to the train station and has screens showing departure times, which makes it an ideal place to relax and wait for a train. Good selection of gins and locally-produced ales, which were served by friendly staff.

We rang after the Bath rugby game yesterday to see if they had space for us. We showed up at the restaurant and was greeted by the person who remember us calling and showed straight to our table. Despite the restaurant being really busy all the staff were on top of service. Served in good time and the waitress was really helpful. The steak was delicious and the chocolate panna cotta was great! Definitely worth a visit!

Called in on a Sunday and ordered the Sunday roast off the menu.An absolutely fabulous meal which neither of us could fault in any way.Food superb staff both welcoming and attentive could not fail to recommend

I came here last week for a celebratory date night with my boyfriend. Luckily we booked a table as the restaurant was full at 6:30pm. Everything was incredible, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the drink were delivered quickly with plenty of options.The only thing to mention was that the waitress that served us was evidently new to the job. We obviously have nothing against this and we understood when things may have taken slightly longer (like taking our order) but she was lovely and polite when serving us (she just seemed very nervous and uncertain on some things). I'd highly recommend Graze to anyone looking for a location for a celebration or date night!

I booked Graze online just under a week before for NYE for my boyfriend's birthday and was surprised that they still had a table spare. He fancied ribs and after searching through quite a few restaurant menus in Bath I found that this was one of the only places that have them on the menu so it was a no-brainer.

My scallops were one of the best I’ve had, bettered only by Florida. My sirloin steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare, and absolutely delightful. Very little fat & huge flavour - my habitual pepper sauce was hardly used. Added to that the ambience was brilliant for a Monday night, all created by the superb waiting & bar staff and the very very cool music. I don’t ever write reviews this good. If Carlsberg did bars....

Had a Sunday roast here and thought it was excellent. Staff were polite and very helpful, the bar/restaurant is modern and clean it has a nice atmosphere. The food was nicely presented with a large selection of veg nicely brought out in side dishes. I would highly recommend eating here if you want that up market pub grub experience.

Located right beside Bath Spa train station, this restaurant/bar is great for a sunny cocktail on the terrace in summer or for a delicious wintery dinner. Service is good and efficient and the rack of ribs have delicious flavour. Definitely worth a try.

Just back from a lovely Christmas Day lunch at Graze. We were welcomed by smiling staff and they remained cheerful, courteous and charming all the way through our delicious meal.

Quite a good place to have a beer with friends - reasonable ale selection on top of the usual keg stuff .

We popped in for drinks, what a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. A nice drinks menu - the St Clements was so tasty, and the Bath Ales are a must! Nice clean loo, too. Always important to have a clean toilet!

Had a great afternoon at Graze in Bath, the food was amazing with great service. We had a great table number 40 which is a round table looking over the square. I had a Rib eye steak which was delicious 👍

We visited Graze prior to a gig at The Forum. Busy Friday night but we were shown to table very quickly. Both had soup to start, very tasty tomato and red pepper but it could have been hotter. Gluten free toasted bread supplied but only 1 pack of butter for 2 slices. Both had steaks, my rump was very tasty and tender - medium rare as requested - my husband had sirloin - again tasty and tender but could've been rarer. Accompanied by a good Argentinean Malbec an all together very good meal.

We popped in here for a quick drink on a Saturday evening. In fairness the bloke behind the bar who served us was great - very helpful and we bought him a drink in thanks. I went to the ladies and was washing my hands when one of the waitresses flushed the loo and came out of her toilet cubicle. She came over to the mirror, adjusted her hair - and left. I’m afraid there is no way I’ll eat anything there if staff use the toilet and don’t wash their hands afterwards. She wasn’t even embarrassed by my presence into washing her hands. I’m guessing she was back to serving food. Gross! They’ve only got two circles because of the bloke at the bar who was so good otherwise it would be a zero.

Eye fillet steak was a poor cut and came out rare when a medium was ordered. Was taken away and the same steak returned slightly more chargrilled on the outside and more towards medium. I would have expected a new steak. Steak came with chips instead of mash too. £28 for a simply awful steak and I felt robbed!

Enjoyed Sunday lunch very much. Well cooked and good to see the kitchen open and the staff hard at work. Shame the beer fermentation system is not up and running, actually making beer, that would be special. Service was mediocre at best - no greeting on entry, having to ask for kids menus, disorganised generally. Lovely Bath ales here as owned by the brewery. The very convenient spot right next to rail station and if they could get their act together on the service this could be amazing. Come on, sort your staff training and recruitment out.

I have worked away from home in Bath fairly frequently over the last 3 years and in a city with endless eating options, Graze was always a favourite; great location, great atmosphere and great food. It was though, always let down by inconsistent service, which ranged from good to downright awful. However, in recent visits over the last three months, there seems to have been a change of staff which has brought with it a notable improvement in service. Is Graze finally achieving its full potential ? Watch this space !

Great location overlooking Bath on one side and the station on the other. Great burgers, great beer and wines. Great value for the quality.

I traveled to England on a business trip for a few weeks and I decided to visit Bath. Upon my arrival, I walk into Graze Bar and I’m immediately greeted by the manager Marco and his amazing team. The outdoor terrace allows you to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Bath coupled with excellent Craft Beer, Ales, food and location - you must visit this place!

After a busy Saturday in Bath, it is good to get near the station and relax on the outdoor terrace. Watch the trains, put the world to rights and enjoy an extensive range of beers, wines and cocktails. Always has a buzz and then five minutes to your platform for the train home.

Time for another American to chime in! My wife and I are both craft beer afficianados and the local Bath Ales products did not disappoint.

The place's dealbreaker is its really lovely ambience, with the railway station glassed off on one side and a nice terrace on the other side. Food is decent, with quite a lot many options for desserts. Unfortunately, they don't have freshly squeezed juices. Coffee is ok, nothing out of the ordinary.

Absolutely delicious food in beautiful surroundings. Lovely views of Bath, beautiful interior, polite attentive staff and gorgeous food.

10/10 service from Louie, Oscar and Valerio. It is an incredible place and experience for anyone, even... newborn, studying, dying!!! Will 1000% visit again and recommend to everyone I know!!!! 👹🤙

We found reference to this place when searching accessible places to dine with a wheelchair user and could not fault it. Modern spacious, good food, excellent service and facilities. Sat on the terrace in the evening sun overlooking Bath rooftops; not something you can usually do with a wheelchair user amongst you. Well done to all of you for creating such a friendly vibrant restaurant.

I come from a different era. I accept that standards I have experienced make my reviews reflect that. I think this is about a 3 star place.

Lovely summers evening so initially sat out on the balcony. However, no service out there so have to go and get own drinks/bottle of wine and glasses along with menu (needed more hands). Sins up for "No Smoking" but they need to also ban Vapping. Decided to go in to a table in the restaurant side. Long wait to be seated. Not very helpful staff but the food was very nice (I had the Hake). The "Bar" in the restaurant side was used as a dumpping ground for everything especially dirty glasses and bottles, not good from the dining customer point of view.

Brilliant from start to finish. Great food, service and price. And thank you to our waitress for not putting the steak in front of my husband as so many do. And Graze for laying on enough staff to cope with the customers. And for training them so well. A welcome relief. Well done.

I've always had time for Graze - it offers a convenient stop while waiting for a train: I'll find it hard to do so again after this evening . . .

Vi var en familien på 10 som havde reserveret bord til kl. 18 og havde gjort opmærksom på, at vi gerne vil sidde udenfor da vejret var dejligt. Så vi tænker, at der vil være dækket op til os! Vi ankommer og gør opmærksom på vores reservation og at vi gerne vil sidde udenfor. Vi får den besked, at vi er velkommen til, at gå udenfor og finde et bord. Nå, det gør så selv, vi får sat 2 beskidte borde sammen og efter ca. 10–15 min. har vi stadig ikke set skyggen en tjener ! Vi vælger da, at forlade stedet og lægge vores penge et andet sted!

A group of friends and family ate and drank at Graze recently. What a great place! A great menu, all of our meals were perfect (steak was fantastic) and they had a great range of ales, lagers and ciders to satisfy a thirsty group of chaps! The service was also great, friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable for the quality of food and drink provided. Highly recommended.
