Amazing service and food! Walked away with a Christmas cake which was lush. Staff were really friendly, food was hot and all came out together although it was 3 separate orders.

When you are in town for a short visit, you don't have too many options. Luckily, this was a good choice. Fun service and atmosphere.

Had Christmas lunch for 14 peape on Christmas day and for was amazing. Very friendly staff ad child friendly large portions and very good value x

Brilliant Christmas dinner with family

Had a delicious 3 course Christmas day meal today. Massive portions. My mum and I struggled to eat ours. My brother and son polished off all of theirs. Very impressed. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Brilliant value for money. Would have preferred to be sat in the restaurant as the bar was busy, but it didn't spoil the day.

Came to watch "The Rusty Rhythm Syndicate" Bluegrass band playing in the garden. Had a perfectly poured Guinness while I was watching in the large pub garden. Great atmosphere! I would definitely come back to watch more music being played out in the garden! Inside is nicely decorated, with new furnishings.

Stopped in as I was at bath Xmas so googled a pub to eat.. What a mistake I won't be making again! Services was sooo slow nearly and hour for 3 simple meals, food was cold, the place was cold, food was disgusting, never again.

Nice this place has gone back to the original name, have been there afew times years ago & now am living very near so I can start using again more often.Still looks nearly the same inside & out,which is great in a city with so many changes & sadly some for the worse.I hope with my new start in the new place I have found a handy place to relax & enjoy all on offer.I must try the food in future,I'm more of a have a drink person.I look forward to seeing what Christmas is like here,it has to be better than struggling to get served in the city centre & all that goes with that.

Great place, top value, good atmosphere.

Friendly welcoming pub with a seperate dining area to the drinkers in the pub which ensures you can enjoy a lovely enjoyable peaceful meal. Staff are friendly and even the chef comes out to see how your meals are along with the other staff. The pub has Xmas decorations which gives the pub more of a festive feeling while dining with my friends. Good value for money and I highly recommend trying a variety of foods on the menu. When I entered the pub a staff mentioned about the parking which was good even though I had seen the machines and signs it’s good to have a reminder

My car broke down nearby and it was cold and snowing. The pub wasn’t open yet but staff were in and the manager came to the door when I knocked. I explained my situation and asked if I could come in from the cold to call local garages who could tow my car and fix it. The manager refused to help me out, so I went to Cafe 3 up the road who were open and much more accommodating. I spent £10 On breakfast there too 🙄

Walked in to alot of bad language. Which yes I know it's a pub. This wasn't the evening. And they were not quiet. Service good and food was lovely.

Came in for lunch, was a lovely atmosphere. The new assistant manager gem, was very welcoming and the food tickled my taste buds, the Xmas decorations was pretty and had a nice twinkle. I have been to the pub before and didn't have the best experience. However this experience was much improved.

Came with a friend for a meal. Absolutely amazing service, especially as I have a nut allergy. They walked me through the menu step by step, and when the food arrived, they even bought me separate cutlery, so I knew there was no cross contamination. Food was fantastic, and so was the atmosphere and staff. Thank you for a pleasant evening. Jess

Called into the red lion purchased two drinks then received a massive fine for using the pub car park so a very expensive 30 minutes ended up costing £65, Definitely will Not be going back and will take my custum else where 😠😧

food was nice. . staff friendly. just remember to tell the bar staff you've parked in the car park else you end up with a parking ticket. Hopefully this has been resolved and l won't be getting another letter. l will definitely remember for next time 😀

We stopped here on a very long trip back to Lancashire. Have to say that although the service was a little slow ( the bar was quite busy however!), the food was really nice and well worth the wait!

Went here for a friend's birthday. I got the mega mixed grill, for £13 I can't complain. The gammon and steak were well cooked and I really enjoyed it. It's good pub food and the prices won't shock you.

Staff were a little rude - when I asked what was included in a special offer the response was check the terms and conditions but the food was very delicious.

Pretty awful service honestly, staff are rude, uncaring and on occasion refuse to even bring your drink to the table. Genuinely strange atmosphere, they seem to heavily prioritise locals and even management will shout across the pub as if it is their own home. Food is also incredibly meh and will take an eternity to come out, you could easily be waiting 45 minutes. Many other things I could write here but not worth the time honestly, avoid at all costs.

7 of us met at the Red Lion today ( this morning ) only 1 other person in there - & man behind the bar on the phone got comftable & decided what to have went to the bar to order & waited waited for a while & asked the man if anyone was serving his reply was IM BUSY - so we left & had an enjoyable lunch at the Globe were staff only to keen to serve us

We stopped at this pub on our way home from Salisbury for something to eat. The bar was full of rowdy men the only place to eat was down a slope into a lower area. On walking down the slope our feet were sticking to the carpet it was disgusting. It was a limited menu so not much choice. The photo is the lasagne we were given with burnt garlic bread. We did not eat it, it was disgusting. A member of staff came down the slope in a loud conversation with a man about putting photos on social media. Followed by another women with 2 children in tow who stormed into the kitchen looking for her. We went looking on other tables for cutlery and napkins but none of the tables had napkins and there was only the odd knife or fork on random tables. Food - disgusting Staff - not interested Atmosphere - rowdy Furniture and carpets - filthy DO NOT GO HERE IT IS DISGUSTING!

Atmosphere is great!! Staff are lovely and welcoming! Drinks were good so was the food definitely recommend!!

The pub was practically empty when we visited and we had to prompt the staff after 30 minutes of waiting for drinks and after 30 minutes from getting our drinks the food was not the best

Stopped of at this devine watering hole for a late brunch with the wife and kiddies and must say we all had a splendid experience the locals seem lovely too and oh so very friendly highly recommended and shall return tomorrow possibly the day after also is looking very promising

First impressions of this visit were not good. Many tables were dirty and covered in used crockery and glasses. When ordering we were told the fish and chip option was not available which coincidentally was unavailable the last time we visited about 4 years ago! I was puzzled by the fact that on your menu you have a boxed section showing which dishes were included in your '2 for £11' offer. I did not spot the information which stated that only the items marked with a £ sign were included in that offer so began by picking something not included. It turns out several items did not have the £ sign which begs the question why were they included at all?? My biggest criticism was the general condition of the interior of the establishment. It clearly needs serious money spending on it to bring it up to an acceptable standard. In particular the carpets. The carpet leading to the dining area is horrendous. It looks like it's had years of food and drinks split on it and been trodden into the pile flattening it and making it almost impossible to see the it's pattern. Whilst at the bar ordering I heard another customer complaining about the state of the lady's toilet. I accept this is hearsay but I was then unwilling to visit them myself! I have to say I have no complaints about the staff who were both friendly and courteous .

The tables were dirty. The toilets had no seats on them and loads off water on floor from where they were leaking. No napkins and cutlery already out so u don't know who's touched them. Hour wait for food. Not hygienic at all. Sad to see it has gone down hill.

I was served by Hannah who was polite, professional and extremely helpful. The cider was nice and general atmosphere of the pub was lively and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place! I didn't have food, so can't comment on that.

Drove 10 miles to go here and use a discount voucher sent to us by sizzling pubs, sat down (plenty of tables) looked menu asked if rib of beef was available said no so looked again only to be told no food. We have s table of 15 coming in soon so cant do food. The gentleman went to the kitchen and asked the manager came back and said sorry no food as we have a big table to serve later. We left and will not be using Sizzling Pubs again particularly the Red Lion in Bath

Very approachable & friendly staff, willing to do anything to help make our experience a comfortable one. There were 10 of us & I'm disabled on crutches with an assistance dog & all this was taken into consideration, even down to staying us nearest to disabled toilet. The food came out promptly & all correct & hot (apart from last dish which we waited a while 4) , but they were very apologetic & didn't charge us 4 this one 4 inconvenience) Overall a fab experience & would recommend.

Absolutely awful! Visited on many occasions and 1 star is a compliment. The Manager hasn’t a clue! The kitchen is closed more often than it’s open. Not a seat on any of the toilets, ladies or gents. The poor girl on the bar was the only compliment I could give the place she was rushed off her feet and handled all the complaints without getting flustered she deserves 5 stars (Lillie I think her name was). Me and my family have visited this pub for many years on many occasions it has never been this bad!!

Before you can have a drink or some food they want data on you do not give you any information how the data is being used I don't know even his house is illegal. Just tell you have to put your car registration and which will give them information about you.

Visit every Tuesday night for a drink, Great service and helpful staff. Will see you this week!

I got a £100 parking fine for parking in this pub for an hour. There was no signage inside or outside the pub that was apparent to me, like there always is if you have to register your car. I am really disappointed with the lack of indication that you must either pay for parking or register your vehicle on entry. I know that some pubs have register on entry, but that is always accompanied with very obvious signage. There isn't even a parking sign in the car park!

Came for food on Friday 1pm, waited 1hour for 2 pub classics and there was only 1 member of staff to be seen. Food was ok but when leaving you can see the chef just standing having a cigarette. Awful experience after we had to wait so long

Had a lovely lunch with family. The pub was too hot though. No windows or doors open in the bottom section, no ventilation and no air conditioning. Really stiffling!Really busy, the staff were brilliant and all working so hard in awful conditions.

Ordered food at 12:58 no hardly no one in the pub, checked how long food would take as had an appointment at 2pm told 25 mins at 1:31 chased food was told ots on its way chased again at 1:36 was told it was being plated as said I would need to cancel & was told no, ot came out at 1:41 great 4 minutes to wat our meal. Left 3/4's & the 4 people that came in with us & ordered same time where still waiting when we left at 1:46. Funniest 25 minutes I had seen & were not hel0ful in trying to sort the issue Well had reply, if I had been told it was going to 45 minutes I would not have ordered I am not the silly & don't have money to waste on a meal we wouldn't have had time to eat. Also we ordered on the app so you didnt serve us as you advised in yiur reply or told us the time. It was only when i first chased you told me it was a standard 25 minutes. If someone asked to cancel & gives the reason why then surely you should have said OK let's see what we can do for you & not just say we are plating up (after being told this twice) & look away. You were not that busy. There was a table of 4 people who came in the same time as us, who also mentioned to my husband how slow you were in serving food, a couple next to us who's order you didn't have so where given someone else to ear, 2 guys sat drinking at the table to our left, & 3 ladies came in had a drink & left so how is that busy? I do not like being told I am a liarer which it what appears to be the case that you are putting forward.

Can describe how enjoyable are experience was, food came out fast and was very tasty. Bar staff were lovely and friendly and Brandon made us feel very at home. Will be coming again and recommending to all my friends and family.

Sadly I won’t be returning a Friday afternoon hardly anyone in pub waiting over 2 a hr for 2 meals. The chef needs to think about how he is taking to staff and how much customers can actually hear. I felt sorry for the lady who was front of house who he was having a go at.

Stunned I was bribed into giving a 5 star review to get my car parking ticket cancelled!!!! I got a ticket recently as my friend had entered the reg incorrectly, didn’t stay long the food was terrible, the locals were all sat opposite bar once again with the foulest of drunken language. I know this is a pub but I’ve a 5 year old!! Kitchen staff in filthy uniforms I honestly should of gone to McDonalds for some hot food! I wouldn’t recommend this pub it was great a few months back when we came before Xmas. I’d rather pay my parking ticket than give you a 5 star review thanks Brandon!!

Really like sizzling but this one was pretty dire. More of a drinkers pub. Food was burnt and literally half my steak was fat! Not great. Staff pleasant enough but full with drinkers and dirty tables.

Felt like a step back in time also my wife and I are vegan food was great. Kids aren't vegan their food was great son is fussy and he loved the make your sundae we've never seen him mix foods before. Popped in for drinks and a bit of grub late in the evening. They seemed pretty busy around 830 but still got us a table and had the food out quickly. I remember what this place was like a few months ago seems to be turning around 👍

I don't understand why this place has good reviews. We booked a table for 18:30. Told on arrival to sit anywhere. Pointless making a booking really. Food left on the bar. Pub really hot and stuffy. Gents toilet was flooded and no hand wash. Staff more interested in smoking outside. Not a nice welcome. We walked out. Very grotty place. Should be closed down. We thought that we would try it again as it has a new manager and it's being turned around however we were very disappointed and won't return.

What’s not good…. food on table, bar staff smoking at front door not serving; bar had food on the end of it (looked like it had been there awhile)… made booking, not honoured… really grotty atmosphere; bar staff who was smoking at front door (friendly). But had other “members of public” walking behind bar. No uniform standards or identification; good luck trying to turn this place about! Won’t be coming back here unfortunately.

Myself and my husband Andrew came here this evening. Had a lovely time, met the manager and a weird guy called Simon. Lucy behind the bar was brilliant.

Always had a good meal here and enjoyed our stay but our recent visit on Saturday has put us off completely. We waited 50 minutes for our food without being told there was a wait and there were kids running all round the bar area falling over and crying. We never like to complain, especially from a place we call our local but with the wait on food and kids running around after 9 o’clock on a Saturday night causing chaos has stopped us coming again.

I had sizzling chicken on a sizzling platter. The first chicken was undercooked. The vegetable raw. No sizzle ! My husbands curry feast was very good. Large meal . Staff very nice. Have not been there for a long-time but won't go again unfortunately.

Local to the area used to come here a lot. New management in seems to be building it back up so will be back in the future!!!!

We come here as a family all the time really nice to have a separate family dining area away from how loud the bar get get when the football is on.

The food was the same as as before but couldn't fault the new manager, we had an issue late last year and wasn't going to return, but the new manager stepped up and looked after us very well, I wish him all the best in turning this venue around.

The atmosphere is good and I liked the food , the toilets though are a bit worse for wear I think and when I went in to use them was walking through puddles

Came in here for food after a day out shopping in Bath. Arrived and ordered 2 meals and 2 drinks through the app. Waited 25 minutes before I went to the bar to get the drinks. Apparently a ticket hadn't printed. Then waited another half an hour for a fish and chips and a burger. Never received the side of bread and butter. Will not be coming here again. Worst of all, I left a tip on check out that the staff deffinately don't deserve. Terrible. Given 2 stars because the food actually wasn't bad once it arrived.

Thought we would try these again as everyone makes mistakes. How ever again food was wrong, either hardly anything on the menu, comes cold or when bought out you have to chase up missing food of the plate.
