New Inn in Bath and North East Somerset

Went for Christmas Day lunch. Nice atmosphere and clean. Food was nice although quite small portions. The service was terribly slow and, in the end, we left without finishing our meal. I asked twice where our desserts were and the waiting staff were clearly under pressure and I felt were not that interested in helping. A shame.

We attended the Breakfast with Santa event with members from Super Saturday Club. This club is for children aged five to 18 with additional needs. It comes under the umbrella of Keynsham & District Mencap. The whole event was lovely; and Daryl, Helena and Amelia went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait until next year.....

Horrible starter, prawns not cooked properly, too much lettuce and mayo, mediocre main course - mushroom wellington with only one slice of mushroom in it! The desert was very nice. Staff a bit prickly. No oat or soya milk, only cow's milk.

On behalf of everybody from Super Saturday Club, we had a wonderful time today seeing Santa. As always the food was fantastic and the service was excellent, thank you for looking after us all so well. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you all.

We attended “Breafast with Santa” today and it was really well organised. Lovely crafting area to make Christmas decorations and cards for the children and an activity bag on the table to keep them entertained while we waited for breakfast. The breakfast itself was delicious!

Updated and upgraded review. Food was fine, just a little bland but good value and what you'd expect for the money. Service was much better than last year when we visited. The manager worked hard to sort out the intricacies of the bill so thanks for that. For a Saturday lunchtime it seemed very quiet but that's not a bad thing in itself. Parking was easy enough (the accessible bays aren't wide enough though). Definitely better than last year, many people had the turkey and said it was very good. Nice desserts. Abbot Ale was good. Thanks for your hospitality and patience.

If you like waiting nearly 2 hours for food and then it comes out cold, microwave mash, burgers tasted like they had been in a fryer and an extremely rude manager/ new owner....then this is definatley the place for you! When we complained he butted in half way through us telling him about the food, to say he quality checks the food before it came to the table and it was hot.... so we were called liars! He was not prepared to deal with our complaints and just walked off. He should be removed from representing Greene King. We eat in these pubs on a regular basis but have never been to one serving such bad food and with such a rude Manager. We will not be returning here.

I had booked a birthday celebration meal for my wife and family members. The main courses took a long time to be served to the table, and the appearance of each meal did not look very appealing. My son in law had a burger, buon arrival it was cold. He politely asked if the burger could be replaced, which it was after 25 minutes. The replacement meal was disgusting and was the same burger deep fried. My son in law couldn't eat it. My wife asked to speak to the manager to raise her concerns and disappointment in the quality of all meals, but mainly about the burger. My wife asked if some form of compensation could be offered, but the manager abruptly replied NO. He also said the first burger was hot when served, implying my son in law was a liar. His attitude was far from professional and should be removed from his post and the establishment. I have complained to the Green King CEO and am waiting for a response. I will not be using that establishment again.

Blimey.... dont ever complain about the food being cold. This was the rudest manager i have ever met. We were called liars, and that he stands quality checking the food before its served, yet since we complained and he refused to do anything, hes been stood at the bar! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I ordered Sirloin steak chips & onion rings the steak was soo tough I couldn't eat it so when ask how my meal was I complained thay offered me another steak to be cooked again same issue but even worse than the first steak plus I was given a rump steak instead of sirloin £23 wasted the meat was poor quality badly cooked and expensive I wouldn't recommend

Found this place, and what a find ,traditional pub,nicely decorated for Christmas. Food was amazing, if ever in the area again we would definitely be back.

Was a very lovely meal at the New inn at Farnborough. Eaten here a few times now and find it great food, friendly and has lots of space.

Lovely gluten free meal, pleasantly decorated for Christmas and well attended. Plenty of parking too and I wish we'd had room for dessert, they looked amazing!!

Been here a few times now….. My daughter is celiac so finding food for her always seems to be a challenge.. However everytime we have came heleena has always gone out of her way to make sure that my daughter has food which suits her needs…. I cant fault her…. Absolute gem of a host. And will go out of her way to suit her needs…. Great job

I have had great service in this pub, from the excellent food and drink to the staff. Especially Amy Robbins, whose pleasant courteous welcome made me feel most comfortable and settled. A good, clean pub with a nice atmosphere. Wide range of vegetarian options available. Service was great, our waitress Amy was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable on menu and drink choices. She recommended the mushroom pie and having now tried it, so do I.

We came in last Sunday. We were warned that food may take awhile due to the pub being short staffed. We were very impressed as everything came out in good time, food was great. Kids had a blast in the play area outside. Shout out to the chef, as we found out on leaving that he was the only one in the kitchen! Great place for the family.

Says dog friendly but it isn’t. Felt like the manager made a big announcement to the whole restaurant that we shouldn’t be there, very embarrassing.

Went today with my partner for a Sunday dinner and the service was excellent, the staff were really helpful and welcoming. Food didn’t take long. Over all it was a really good experience- definitely recommend.

The child’s mac and cheese was tiny and a 10 year old could of ate it in 3 bites and it was freezing cold ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ the park was alright my child cut his finger on it and the toilet was clean 2 star 🌟

Very bad experience. We arrived at 3pm and they told us that they no longer served a menu at that time. A father who arrived an hour after us with his two children was served the menu without any problem. I find it unfortunate that because you are foreigners they tease you like that to charge you more money.

Family friendly, nice garden with a playground for children. Delicious food made by Iuliana-the chef! It’s a nice pleasure always, to go there. Flo also polite and hard worker, he goes above and beyond to serve his customers.

Very friendly service with well cooked standard pub food. The staff at the New Inn couldn't have been more cheerful or helpful. I had garlic mushrooms (usually a starter) with chips and salad. My husband had the gammon. Standard chain pub fare but very well cooked and very reasonably priced so no complaints here!

Food was delicious, great seasoning on the steak and the bbq sauce with the burger tasted amazing, the puddings we had was the gooey brownie and the warm Blackberry and apple tart with custard and can not put into words the texture and the taste could not have been any better! The warm full feeling was a good feeling. friendly staff couldnt do anymore to help, we stopped by on a rainy drive, so the interior was nice and warm and comfortable. I would deffo be coming back again. Hats of to the chef because he smashed it!!

After watching Bath rugby win, my husband and I thought we'd stop for a meal and a drink. The man greeting us was cold and unwelcoming, as I always think a simple smile goes a long way. My husband asked if he had to go to the bar to order the drinks and was told it was table service. So we waited and waited and waited!!! No drinks menu on tables. One waitress came to ask if we had ordered, to which we replied No. I asked for a pint of soda and lime with No ice, and of course it arrived with ice. So I asked again with No ice. The girl was apologetic and got me the same drink with no ice.Our meals arrived and by then, my husband had finished his 1st pint so he asked for another one. It didn't come, so asked again and still nothing, I had finished my meal, so he decided to go to the bar and got it himself, whislt his food obviously got cold!!! If you say "table service" then do it properly or not at all!!!! The place wasn't even busy so God help them when it is! Otherwise the food was quite nice and super cheap, but the supposedly "award winning pie" wasn't up to that standard! Nice pie but most certainly not outstanding. We won't be returning.

Visited yesterday felt very welcome when being shown my table by the new Welsh Manager he was very friendly also had great service and food come out quick and was brilliant and I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely come back again.

food ok had turkey but noticed beef wasn't pink. Food could have been warmer. Service was awful. Didn't see waitress in 45 mins waiting for a missed drink and to order pudding Won't be going back. Also landlord iron your shirt looks tatty

Really great Sunday lunch here, reasonably priced and served by helpful knowledgeable staff.

Although it was busy ,they took our booking so obviously thought they could cope ,we waited over hour for our lunch to be served, had to ask for desert menu. Always bit hit and miss here it seems

Staff very welcoming and restaurant clean and bright. We were eating later in the evening so the kitchen was getting ready to close so the quality of the food was not as it could have been. The steaks were quite fatty and chewy along with the chicken that was a little overdone, however it was all edible and that was all we wanted.

Not the best Sunday lunch. Very little veg and the brocoli was very hard. Beef was on the menu as pink but it was overcooked and dry, had char grilled lines where it has been cooked again. The roast potatoes were more like chips than a potato. Definitely won't be coming back.

Great food at great prices. The staff are very nice and hardworking, the tables are spaced out and the place is well looked after. The brownie from the kinds menu is a decent size and only £1.99! Just right if you don’t have a lot of room after the main course but still fancy something sweet.

We have not been here for a while, and I was a little bit disappointed to hear that the manager Mike has left. That being said all of our party had a great evening on Wednesday,food and service was fantastic as always. Nothing was too much trouble for the two girls working, they really did make our evening even more enjoyable, hats off to them.
