Geo Park Cafe in Torbay

What can I say apart from avoid! Two young girls served us. After we paid, we noticed they were eating while cooking!! Waited 40 mins with no food, when we asked where the food was, she told us she forgot to cook it!! then told us they had no chicken burgers or chicken nuggets. Surely you should check stock before serving? Mistakes happen of course, but this was problem after problem. The girl was vaping while cleaning around the front. So unhygienic is actually disgusting. Such a shame because the location was lovely. We always walked past and wanted to try it. If trading standards ever arrived they would be shut down instantly. WHO EATS WHILE COOKING AND SERVING FOOD? And to top it off, We didn't even get an apology at all. They both just stood bad mouthing us as we walked away.

Do not waste your money! Terrible. Such a shame, great location could be very successful. Clearly the owners do not care, run down and dirty. Place needs a good clean! Ordered our food, cheesy chips, simple. Took far too long. I wish I looked over the counter before I paid, the state of the place, the state of the utensils. Everything dirty. God knows when it was cleaned last. Was told we couldn't have any hot chocolate because there are limited to how many they can sell a day. How crazy! The young girl on the till said that they could only sell a certain amount a day because it was so expensive to buy. What an earth is that about? Very disappointed when the food arrived. Wish I hadn't wasted 25+ pounds on some chips and coffees. Avoid. Rubbish food. On this day no sauces, no forks .. no hot choc even tho it was sat on the counter. Advise customers to lean over and look at the cleanliness of the place. Threw ours away once I noticed the oil and food tongs used. They also need to train their staff to not eat whilst they're cooking and working behind. Young girl, picking food from the grill and putting it in her mouth. Dreadful place. Never again

Went this morning lady on the till was half asleep . Food was reheated no onions which we asked for . Roll no spread . It was brilliant when the man is on but will struggle to go again. As there are plenty of other places to eat . Such a shame because there tribute singers are great

Lovely, lively place , all outside so fabulous views of the beach and ocean. Very friendly and helpful staff , great music, have live acts ( singer's) good atmosphere , Elvis Presley statues, photos everywhere, as is his music. Serve all hot cold drinks, alcohol, food is good , served hot , good portions.

Staff are horrible! Unpleasant, very poor service. Hot drinks - coffee - worst Coffee I had in a long time, couldn't finish my cup and I'm not very fussy drinker. Not recommend! Stay away from that place

I live in Paignton and walk past this cafe place everyday whilst walking the dogs. On a nice sunny Sunday my friend and I decided to have a few beers. I was hungry so decided I would try this place. Never again. Cider was warm, double cheeseburger tasted of oil and the staff couldn’t muster a smile between them. The guy serving so called cold drinks from a bucket of water was as miserable and rude as sin! £6 for a warm cider. Then I went to order a burger. Girl behind the counter making the food was as miserable. Everyone working here just looked miserable. Even the Elvis tribute sounded miserable. Basically just a seafront shed with American flags and Elvis posters and boards everywhere. Avoid if you can’t be dealing with rude staff members.

Went there on two occasions the food was ok but no where near as good as last year. The service was very poor you were waiting a long time for your meals.

The staffs are horrible!! Discourteous teenager girls having sickening attitude towards customers! Never experienced anything like that. I’m truly surprised that the place still hires them after so many reviews reported how awful they are. We won’t go back there ever again, so our families and friends 👎

Absolutely shocked. 3 teenagers serving and all eating ice creams and burger at the same time. Girl who was eating an ice cream place the box under her armpit while chucking some fries into it ( didn't stop to eat her ice cream ) Her male colleague then proceed to add some cheese on top with his bare hand ( still eating his burger ) Put it in the microwave, wipe her face with a napkin and take out the box having this napkin still in her hand. Asked for my money back of course ( £5 cheesy chips ). Still shocked and it's a shame because their food just got better.

We live in paignton and go to the beach to walk our dog and then go to geo park cafe for drinks nearly every day Sometimes we have something to eat and always find the staff hard working and friendly. The food is well cooked and good quality ingredients .fantastic position on sea front and nice music .never seen any one complain or any problems .

I live locally to Paignton seafront and the Geo Park Cafe is the go to place to go for fab food with a great section of food on the menu. The staff are friendly and bubbly. They are not shy to have a conversation with you to brighten up your day. Unsure on why people have commented on poor hygiene as I have not seen nothing but very good hygiene. Always wearing gloves and changing them regularly. Would highly recommend a visit there, you will not be disappointed.

Not changing your gloves is just as bad as never washing your hands, especially after touching raw meat!! Customers would 100% appreciate seeing hand washing then wearing gloves that only benefit the person wearing them. Sadly won't be returning

Don't be lured by the nice menu because the food is terrible, small dried up servings that you really wont beleive is what you ordered. The "Big un" is anything but & if you ask for onions you may have tiny bit drop on by accident, if you're lucky 🙄 The fries are burnt and obviously re heated and dipped in frier multiple times until its impossible to bite them or chew them. The baguettes are not proper baguettes id say half the size youd expect and the bread was chewy like it had been defrosted in a microwave. Any hotdogs from any other outlet is larger and more appetising in comparison.

Go back two years, went here to have a gourmet hot dog, told no onions! What’s changed - nothing, except price! Went today, ordered hot dog with extra onions, that caused a grunt from the person serving. Hot dog arrived, with no onions at all and an anaemia looking sausage. When asked, they had not cooked any onions yet, just cutting them up, why didn’t they say when ordering. Told them I didn’t want the hot dog, it wasn’t what I ordered, did get a refund. Loads of young girls just standing around, didn’t seem vaguely interested in their jobs at the cafe. All staff seem to have a attitude problem. Too many tables squashed in, might as well sit on top of each other, won’t be going back or recommend to anyone.

Great afternoon at the Elvis week. Great atmosphere, everyone enjoying themselves and the weather was great! Well done the staff worked so hard with the crowds and in such heat, as we are in the middle of a heat wave. Bearing this in mind I think that Simon the young owner could address his staff a bit more politely as I noticed while I was in the queue he did not. To be honest I would of downed tools and walked out. Keep up the good work staff well done

Awful. Burger was so oily it slipped right out the bun. Was very tasteless, and the tomato wasn’t even a nice fresh slice, it was just the rounded skin edge which I threw away straight away. Soft drinks were warm. The food unit is run by really young girls who aren’t even the friendliest or seem like they’ve had much experience / training at all. I’d avoid this restaurant if I go again.

I would have given this place zero stars if possible so definitely not worth the one star I have given. We waited ages for our food to be cooked, then when we did receive it, it was so burnt we couldn't eat it. When I complained they re-cooked the food only for it to be almost as bad as the first attempt I would not recommend and definitely would not use again. We are very regular visitors to Paignton and based on my experience of eating out in Paignton I would rate this as the worse place to eat

Overcooked, grease saturated cold chips, with a burger dripping in grease. Absolutely disgusting food fit only for the bin. Tried to tell the staff but their attitude was appalling. Such a shame as with decent cooks this place could be so much better.

Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and a veggie burger for my girlfriend can’t complain at all was very nice and the staff was very freindly. The premises was very clean and tidy will be returning again soon. Definitely recommend

A holiday to Paignton isn't complete without a few meals from the Geo Park Cafe. Our favourite is the chicken burger! All the food is cooked fresh, the staff are really friendly and the food tastes amazing! Generous portion sizes for good prices!

Very worthy of 5 stars! Best steak baguette with onions ever. Steak was tender, perfectly cooked, no fat, better than most steaks you’ll order in restaurants... Fab place with friendly staff, great view whilst the children play what more could you ask for!

Popped down to meet a few friends for a cup of coffee seen the chef cooking the hungry guy burger. I was so impressed with how he cooked the burger I had to try one myself and I must say it was one of the best burgers I've eaten. They are very well price with a winter saver menu. They are a friendly team and the chef is a happy lovely chap and the atmosphere was buzzing too. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

Visited this seafront cafe all three days of my trip. They cook the burgers so that they stay very juicy. Literally melt in the mouth, if they weren't so meaty too. Highly recommend them.

Bought two Hot Dogs. My bread was hard and stale on one side. Took it back and was told it was part oven baked!! Really!!!

Really slow service.. but was served coffee far to hot!!It was basically boiling water and I burnt my mouth and tongue extremely badly!!If the coffee is gonna be that hot, the server should of said, I’m in extreme pain and think I need a trip to A and E..Avoid this place!!

Visited here today with ny teenage daughter. Had thought of having an ice cream, but saw 2 burgers being cooked and decided upon them with cheese and onions. Very good customer service, food and prices. Seating area available and keeping to the social distancing guidelines. Positioned right opposite the beach and on the grass play area and lawn it is ideally situated. Infant remember the last time we had a burger as meaty and tasty as this one. Will return again for sure.

My young daughter ordered 5 Doughnuts. After 5 minutes waiting her order was incorrectly given to another person who was delighted but not really her fault. The young male preparing the food had twice told his female colleague the order was to our young daughter, but this was ignored by the female staff. We had to tell the woman of her error, however there was no apology by the incompetent staff. We had to wait another 5 minutes whilst another person who ordered after us had an order of 10 doughnuts served to him before us. We suggest you give out a ticket number to avoid reoccurrence (obviously their memory fails them), furthermore, give them relevant training to a good customer standard level.

The lady serving needs to learn the words please and thank you. She was more interested in chatting to her colleague and barely made eye contact. Also, took far too long for two sausage baps in a quiet time. I will avoid from now on as am a local and was showing a visiting friend our beautiful beach - the staff at this place are not a great impression of Paignton's people, it was almost embarrassing. Sausage was ok.

We decided to buy an ice cream, the ice cream was very soft and lots of ice in the ice cream. My daughter wanted a flavour which she normally loves. When she got it she didn't like it l went and said my daughter doesnt like the flavour l was met with "and" i replied would l be able to change it please l was told for another £2.50 and when we had just spent £10 there l thought this was disgusting price to charge people especially for a tub. The blonde haired lady was really rude to people another familys child dropped their ice cream and she made them pay full price for another. Willnot being returning there

It is a great idea to have this facility right beside the park so that you can grab a coffee or q quick bite while your kids play in the park, however it needs a bit of improvement.We only had doughnuts and coffee but both were nice and reasonably priced

Visited for some snacks on a quiet day in July. No queue and only one food ticket on the wall. Ordered a latte and 5 doughnuts, then another member of our party ordered some chips about 5 minutes after. Latte was lukewarm which explains why we got it so quickly. Chips took about 5 minutes but there was still no sign of the doughnuts. During the time that we were waiting, a woman went up to the kiosk to complain that she had been waiting for 20 minutes for 4 portions of chips. The staff were very rude to her but eventually gave her a refund. We then asked about her doughnuts and found out that they hadn’t even put them on. We’d been waiting at least 15 minutes by this time and the blonde woman behind the till blamed the customer who was complaining for the fact that she hadn’t put our doughnuts on! Eventually a young guy sorted it out for us and apologised for the wait, I felt very sorry for him having to work with the other 2 women in the kiosk. Hopefully this was just an off day for them, but I definitely won’t be visiting again to find out.

Tables at this establishment were covered in bird muck, l realise that this must be an occupational hazard but a wash down each morning should be routine. We stopped for coffee, which was excellent, and doughnuts served by a rude abrupt lady who made us feel as if we were putting her out by expecting to be served. The doughnut butter was left uncovered and appeared to be always so,as every time we walked past we noticed the bowl was uncovered. Not hygienic at all.. Also very expensive.

I’m a regular here since it opened 3 years ago. It’s a great little cafe right on the sea front, open all year round.Great ice cream from Salcombe Dairy, also do it yourself whipped from the machine outside which people so enjoy doing. 4 flavours of do it yourself slush....again popular with children who can mix any flavour combination High quality local jumbo sausages, great tasting burgers, chicken burgers, bacon, chicken nuggets, chips, chip buttys etcCooked in front of you so it’s all fresh and piping hot.Great coffees and hot chocolate made with with proper chocolate flakes.....especially great in the off season!Donuts as well....made to order from one of the old style barrows outside of the main kiosk. They look lovely on the sea front and I’ve seen people taking pictures of them.Staff are all helpful and friendly. Also dog friendly with your four legged friend getting a dog treat, mine loves the gravy bones.Highly recommended

Came across this cafe on a weekend a few weeks ago, and my partner had a hotdog which he is rather partial to. He raved about it, nice roll, nice sausage and lovely fried onions. We went back the following weekend and again the hotdog was great. However since then we have been there three times during the week and no onions with the hotdog or burgers etc. The first weekday we asked the girl who was there on her own, why no onions, she said that they had run out - this was 11 o’clock in the morning! So we didn’t buy one. The next two weekdays visits, with the same girl serving, no onions again, so we didnt buy anything, just a coffee. We think that she can’t be bothered to cook the onions, so all burgers and hot dogs have no onions in them during the week. So if you like onions in your burgers and hotdogs don’t go on a weekday, as we don’t now. Shame!

Always stop off here for coffee when the weather is nice. The coffee is really nice and chips are great too. I would rather wait a little while knowing my food was being cooked fresh than it being waiting in oil for someone to order. All in all very nice.

Visited on thursday with 6 people. Chips had to wait 15mins to cook. Full of grease. Could pour it out of dish where it had drained down. £2.50 a portion. Total rip off. Coffee was bearable but hot chocolate horrible. Certainty would not go back.

While on holidays we have eaten from here on several occasions, we now live in the area so we will be visiting more often. We have always found the food to be of good quality & as it is cooked to order it always arrives hot. The staff are very friendly & the location is brilliant as it is right next to the Geo Park & just across the road from the beach.

We were for the first time here but we liked much as the food ,coffee and staff it was friendly ,nice atmosphere...Congratulations...!!!

If you want a decent burger head over to Geo Cafe. Their burgers are amazing and you will pay half the price from Harvester and will taste better too! Reasonably priced and no rip offs and a great dog stop too :)

Save yourself from ordering the chicken breast burger please?!! More like a squashed chicken nugget in a bun... The 3 star rating is for the staff quickly rectifying the problem by adding another nugget in the bun to make it more substantial. And the crinkle chips were lovely.

This a convenient place to grab a snack or a hot or cold drink when at the beach or visiting the Geo park. The prices are reasonable as the portions are very generous: warning - a portion of chips easily serves 2 ordinary appetites! The service is a little disorganised and slow; you order at one place and are served at another. However, while I was waiting the person who was meant to be taking orders was preoccupied and kept disappearing, while the person who was serving stood doing nothing waiting for her to return to take the order before he could prepare it. Not great when it was fairly busy. But at least it meant that we could have a cuppa while the little ones played on the free park, so serves a real need.

All food is cooked to order so a wait is inevitable if they are busy. We ordered 2 burgers & a childrens meal. The burgers were tasty & the burger buns were fresh. Our 7 year old daughter enjoyed chicken nuggets & chips, the meal came with plenty of chips & a fruit shoot. As we were on holiday we decided to sample the donuts, once again freshly made & tasty. Overall good food which was reasonably priced, we would eat here again.

Around 10 people on the queue so that took roughly 10 minutes to get served.

I'll always give an establishment the benefit of the doubt and usually only write positive reviews, but this needs to be said. This place was an absolute joke!!!!! They got every single aspect of our order wrong. It was shambolic. It wasn't even busy!

We stopped off here to get two ice creams for our 18 month old and 3 yr old. I enquired about the cost for two child's ice creams only to be told they don't sell a child's ice cream and they were just a standard price. At £2.50 each a total of £5 for the two I felt this was extortionate for two small children so left (with my then crying 3 yr old as she didn't get her ice cream she had been promised!) and went to the one at the bottom of Torbay road. We paid £2.80 for two small child's cones which I felt was a much more suitable price and we were served by a very friendly man. Why have no child's ice cream (small amount of ice cream= lower price) at a child's play park? Wouldn't bother again!

Food is basic only takeaway there to make money to refurbish the very popular Geopark maybe they can do away with this ex Christmas chalet
