Sadly, it was not to our expectations. Such good reports of how amazing the food was, was very disappointing. The menu on line, is no comparison to the menu offered on the day. My son had baked potato with tuna ect, with no complaint… myself and other son, because of lack of choice decided to have fried breakfast, thinking you can’t possibly mess this up, but it was disgusting!it was like they had cooked the ingredients in dirty old fat… my son struggled to eat his, where generally he is a good eater and tries to eat mine too. When the barman picked up our finished full plates, he didn’t ask if everything was ok… I had to tell him , the bacon tasted strange as did the fried tomatoes… I would not eat there again, Daisies cafe I would recommend, it’s cheaper and tastier. Come away very disappointed as trip advisor made the bird in hand sound brilliant… I was looking to have a family celebration in the near future, but it won’t be there now. So disappointed

Visited after the gallery, had been beforehand and they did lovely salads, quiches, coffee and cakes, hadn't realised menu had changed but thought would try it, big mistake. Overpriced, over ÂŁ40 for soft drink and 1 course lunch, worst thing was service, unfriendly, miserable staff, won't bother going there again. Porthmeor cafe on the beach outside has far better views, lovely staff and great food so will stick to going there!

My wife & I had booked this to pay a visit before the boxing last Saturday. The booking said it would open at 5pm so we turned up at 6:10pm to be told it was closed! I then asked the polite ladies at the entrance if it was really only open for 1 hour that night and they laughed and said yes. All a bit of a waste of time for 1 hour! Don’t bother wasting your time.

Simply awful. Food cold and poor quality. Never seen a skinnier piece of fish or drier steak. Thank goodness there was a decent beer.

Typical National Trust Cafe with seating inside and out, the usual fare and nearby toilets and car park. Suggest NT ensure all staff behind the counter are dressed properly.

We recently visited The Royal Oak pub with high hopes, as it’s conveniently located for us and we were excited to make it a regular spot. Unfortunately, our experience this evening fell short of expectations. The food was mediocre, (salad we asked to be served on the side didn’t materialise and the tuna mayonnaise jacket potato was mainly mayonnaise and not served with the crisps as stated in the menu). Everything lacked the flavours and quality we anticipated. Additionally, our drinks order was never brought to the table, which was disappointing. To add to our concerns, we noticed another couple refusing to eat their food and leaving shortly after it was delivered, citing that it wasn't up to standard. On a positive note, the atmosphere was pleasant, and it seems like a great place to relax with a pint. We would love to see some improvements in the food and service, as we’d really like to support a local establishment. Here’s hoping for a better experience next time.

Thought it was quite expensive for what it was. The burgers were tasteless and burger buns wet at the bottom. The pulled pork loaded fries tasted very weird.

I went to the grange for a nice Sunday roast with my family and most of us came back sad disappointed and a bit angry. The potatoes were hard and what seems to be Stale the vegetables were near inedible. I will say the meat was really nice but what really made us all sad and disappointed the kitchen staff were really rude. Other than young lady on the till a couple others. Safe to say I won’t be going back in a rush and definitely will not recommend to others.

Being local weve used the cafe many times over the years .....but not for sometime now... We chose to have breakfast there today and have to say we won't be returning On arrival a frozen food delivery company was delivering produce , which begs the question of "local produce" on their menu Ordered 2 barn breakfasts ÂŁ 10.95 each One arrived with 1 slice of bacon and 4 bits of toast....hard poached egg Other arrived with 2 slices of bacon and all bean juice and no beans Neither was particularly hot , tomatoes were rock hard and as for " local" sausages they were awful , spongy and almost gooey ,the dogs enjoyed them though it's very expensive for what it says it is ÂŁ4.95 for a large latte

I had a chicken salad, croutons were so greasy and the chicken was slimy and tough. To top it off I had a bug crawling around in it 🤢 returned it to the bar and they didn’t have much to say and didn’t offer a refund or money off. My friend had a chicken pizza and again, the chicken was slimy and tough. The pizza was dripping with grease… she couldn’t finish it. They didn’t come and clear our plates and we were there for quite some time. We definitely won’t be returning which is a shame as it could be an amazing Restaraunt as the setting is lovely and the views are beautiful.

We drove from Broadstone looking forward to having lunch and purchase some plants for the garden. This is the first time we have been to stewarts since covid On arrival we were very dissapointed to be confronted with a notice NO DOGS. There was no way we would leave them in the car. I spoke to a lady on the till just inside and asked her why. She was very abrupt to the point of rudeness and said the staff were fed up with clearing up after dogs. When I said I might write to Mr Stewart she just said "Your wasting your time he's not interested. Mr Stewart , when I lived in Chistchurch I and my dog visited at least twice a week to use the cafe and spend a good two hours at your establishment . My dog never made a mess but if he had I would have picked it up immediately. I have to say I never saw any dog bins on show perhaps there were but not prominent. Sorry for the moan but I feel dissapointed and discriminated against as must hundreds of responsible dog owners
