MORE AT TripAdvisor

This place is nothing like advertised and certainly not a 4 star. It’s an absolute mess, in need of a lot of maintenance, a good clean and staff. The main exterior door was permanently wedged open. Reception was a tip boxes of discarded paperwork in a corner, a glass of black currant was on the filing cabinet when we arrived, and still there 5 days later. No one was on reception in the day or night. It was in serious need of a good clean. Keys were left in an envelope on a table. One guest complained at breakfast that the bin in her room had not been emptied from the previous guest. Our shower head couldn’t be adjusted. The shower curtain was dirty and needed replacing. Unable to purchase from the vending machine in the main reception area, as it was completely empty. Their Facebook page says bar is open. It isn’t. Restaurant also closed and only served breakfast to guests between 8-9. Only staff seen were two at breakfast. None at any other time. The exterior looks like a building site. A skip full of rubbish. Another two large bins also overflowing with rubbish. Hardly any exterior lighting at night. Windows to the main restaurant building broken and wedged open. Broken garden furniture. No maintenance and certainly no pretty flower tubs as shown on their website.

In its favour the bedrooms are nice enough. How ever it is like the Marie Celeste of hotels. Check in nonexistent, front door open, keys in an envelope left on a table. No staff around till breakfast (2-3 at the most), no one around hardly ever during the day or evening. No housekeeping done at all. You have to ask the breakfast people for clean towels or toilet rolls, put dirty cups outside door or wash up yourself, make your own bed which is no problem except the Website and star rating says 4 star, very misleading and no doubt blamed on Covid. The outside is full of weeds, even a dog poo stayed all day on the patio and nothing on the website is available. Check first. Breakfast was ok, bit rushed and only 8-9 am

For a number of years.. We have passed this pub.. And each year, my husband has said 'I would really like to try there'. So, this year, for his 50th birthday, while on holiday I booked a table as a surprise. I booked two weeks in advance and invited family to join us. The night before the booking I went to the Whitehouse to take the cake, balloons and decorations. I was assured that they would be ready for us when we arrived the next day. On the day of the 'party' I called an hour before we arrived to say we would be there a little early. I was told everything was under control. When we arrived.. Neither the balloons or decorations had been set up. As you can imagine.. This totally ruined the surprise for the birthday boy and became a little awkward as we waited for them to lay the table. We were given the first round of drinks for half price, however this did not compensate for all the planning that had gone in on my part. I was gutted. The food was very nice.. But when it came to receiving the cake.. The topper that I had ordered especially had mearly been placed flat on top of the cake, and not presented in the way it should have been. Even though I gave them everything they needed to do so. I felt as though it was lacking the basic organisation that I hoped would make our evening special. My husband did enjoy his meal however I was really disappointed in the service we received. I would maybe go there again for a meal, however I would not rely on them to make a special occasion 'special'.

Been here twice over this year the first time we had steaks, done to perfection and again on 6th oct with family and had an excellent carvery at a very cheap price (2 for £14.50) Good meat portions and all you can eat veg. Staff friendly & helpful, drinks are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and my wife and I will be going for another carvery on Tuesday, definitely worth the visit and money.

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely weekend break at the Whitehouse inn. From the moment we entered and until we left, we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and the locals alike. The accommodation was lovely, our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious and plentiful. we ate in the restaurant both evenings and were spoilt for choice, great traditional pub grub and at a good price, again the service and food were excellent. We have decided to return In March with our family for our wedding anniversary and couldn't think of anywhere nicer to spend it, our grandchildren will love playing in the indoor play area, or if the weather is nice, playing in the spacious outdoor play area The Whitehouse is a real family Inn and fantastic value for money, a real little gem.

An old fashioned type of pub, for those of us that lament the loss of beer mats in most hostelries these days😊 We were made to feel very welcome, the beer cellar is well kept and the food is wholesome 'pub grub', not a 'jus' in sight. The OH had a burger and I've never seen one stacked so high, I had the garlic chicken which was really nicely flavoured. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

For more than 15 years we've been driving past the wonderful looking White House Inn (usually at an inconvenient time of day) and saying, "we should eat there some time". Finally, this holiday, we did - 3 times in just over a week, in fact. And we have been missing a gem! It's perfect for the kids, inside and out, the food is lovely and reasonably priced and the staff are great. I know the food is freshly prepared because I had the excellent fish pie and each time it was slightly different, but equally tasty. As were everyone else's meals. We really can't recommend this place enough. Even the atmosphere is lovely, especially for such a big place. Although busy, it never seemed crowded, nor did you wait very long for your (piping hot, with no tell-tale 'waiting under a heatlamp' crust) food and the staff are good-natured in their work, which speaks volumes about the management. Easy parking and easy to get to. A stone-throw from Healey's Cider Farm and the Callestick Ice Cream Farm. We will definitely be eating here again next summer.

Had a whitehouse burger here it was a 1+1 burger one beef patty and one chicken burger in one brioche bun with cheese and bacon, it tasted OK actually but the beef patty was over cooked making it tough and chewy, The chips were nice though. The staff were almost bordering unfriendly, inattentive and possibly rude. The place is quite dirty tables not cleaned properly, dirty cutlery and dropped food left under tables, and the carpet looked like a herd of cows had walked over it also there was an unusual odour eminating from some where. All in all it didn't inspire me to rush back any time soon if at all.

They have a good menu of 'Pub Grub' with some House Specials on it. As we were eating out in the evening my wife and I chose baguettes and the Grandchildren wanted burgers. When the food arrived the portions were massive. Our well filled baguettes came with a large salad and lovely chips and I've seen smaller adult portions of burger and chips than what the children had.

Went for a delicious meal on Sat but was absolutely disgusted at the behaviour of the owner/manager. A young mum with a small child had come in and her toddler grabbed a balloon which was attached to a light fixture. The fixture came down from the wall, narrowly missing the poor child. The mother was then subjected to a tirade of abuse from the owner because of what happened. The poor mum was trying to apologise and offered to pay for the damage but this bully swore at her and insisted she leave the premises. The balloons should not have been attached to a light fixture in the first place and most certainly should never have been at child level.

Having booked a table for four the previous evening we were surprised to find the restaurant part closed so had to eat in the bar. Not a problem but had to get all our own cutlery, condiments etc. We're just told "they're over there". Food was actually very nice but no one asked if we would like a desert and when we went to the bar to ask if we could order some coffees we were told "coffee machine is turned off". It wasn't even 9pm so we were rather surprised. I'm afraid we won't be going there again as I like to think my custom is appreciated rather than feel a nuisance of them having to provide meals for people who had phoned and booked, but not told the restaurant would be closed. Poor business, poor attitude but sadly one we have come to expect in this country now.

Visited here on the Bank Holiday Weekend based on the children's play area. My partner and the two older children went to order drinks whilst I stayed in the garden with our toddler. He came out and said that the bar staff were incredibly rude to him and the children. Apparently a barman told the children "get off the bar" as they were stood by it waiting to take drinks into the garden. My partner did say to me after it was said that he noticed a sign, but the way it was said was disgusting. There is a way of getting your point across and that wasn't one of them. Our children are very well behaved and wouldn't have been doing anything apart from waiting for a drink. As the pub sells itself on a brill play area etc the least you'd expect is that it's child friendly. Needless to say we didn't go back, and the staff member in question is lucky that it was my partner buying our drinks and not me as I wouldn't have stood for such rudeness.

I'm sorry but all these tasteless reviews I have seen lately do not reflect the wonderful experience I had at The Whitehouse Inn, to me it seems this amazing public house is being caught in a sustained effort by those wishing to degrade a magnificent place or keep it's stars down and with a pathetic attempt if I do say so myself. Firstly the staff are thoroughly professional, efficient and very approachable without doubt one of the friendliest. Secondly this is my second visit and I must confess it is looking fresh and vibrant, the outside child's area looks brand new! The management are extremely courteous and tend to any grievance you might encounter, although it's safe to say I never had any. for this pub is run to the truest and highest of standards. The food is quality and delectable, the beer is nicely priced and not over the top. In all what a refreshing pub and caters to all young and old, obviously I feel somebody on trip advisor must be holding a grudge of some sort, which I feel is embarrassingly unprofessional. In short don't believe everything you hear or read.

Busy Saturday lunchtime in holiday season and only two staff working really hard to serve increasingly impatient clients. They remained cheerful and polite and we felt very sorry for them. No management or owners in evidence to care about clients or their staff. The simplest side dishes proved the best and reasonably priced. Drinks wise there seemed a greater choice of draught cider than draught beers.Overall a sad venue that has been allowed to run down and still has further to go. Scrap yard at the end of the car park sums it all up and is probably ready to eventually swallow up the remains. There is much better to choose from in the area.

So this is the second time we have been here. The first visit was in 2016 and we only came as there was a play area and is closer than hayle. The play areas are nice and probably lovely outside in the sun. However the food I feel lets this place down. The visit in 2016 was terrible - the lady didn't even acknowledge we were there and the food was horrible (greasy chicken burger with grated cheese and the bun was greasy too). We decided we would give them another shot this year to see if there is any improvement. The food was ok however I feel the menu could do with reviewing. We wasn't allowed to sit in the restaurant so was forced to sit in a table in the bar area which was right next to the restaurant and as the lights were off it was quite dark. The food wasn't greasy this time so was ideal however even though it was edible it wasn't outstanding and nothing to look forward too. If you are looking for a family restaurant with a decent Play area I would advise going a little further on to Hayle. It's difficult to find family friendly with indoor play but you may aswell go hayle and get good service (manager on front desk is Great!!) Good food , big portions and a big play area! However you do need to book which says it all Really! This could be such a lovely place and maybe it will be if ever new owners take over but for the minute it's just your bog standard family pub with some needed improvements Sorry but i wouldn't recommend coming here for a party and wouldn't come out of your way to visit. Unfortunately we won't be returning anytime soon

Roast carvery was horrible soft overcooked veg no roast potatoes, tasteless food, we ate at 12:20 the food started at 12!!! No reason to be overcooked. Veggi option was a mixture of the overcooked veg with mashed potato!! Food was the worse I have tasted in some time. Service this was the worse I have EVER experienced, chef shouted/reprimanded our 3 ½ year old son (he shouted that loud my husband was at the bar getting drinks heard and a table next to us commented it was to severe to speak to a child like he did) for touching pool table that was next to a soft play area, I was behind him so took our sons hand and chef said, nothing for you here pool table has plank of wood on it for a reason!!! If they didn’t want anyone in that area should block it off or put sign up. Called when got home spoke to Landlady Donna, she was aggressive and very very rude, saying she would sue if I post my review, said she heard the chef as she was behind bar, I pointed out if she heard from behind bar she knew how loud he was, to her then being by a table! She was not apologetic if fact she said you will know when I’ m aggressive with you. All in all the food was horrible the chef and landlady rude and aggressive. Good roast lunch (car very) food was well prepared roast beef and turkey (both melted in mouth) and plenty of vegetables also very good portions. Our friends had vegetarian pie which they seemed to enjoy. The restaurant was busy which is good to see nowadays with so many pubs closing. Slightly dated decor but good food and we would certainly re-visit if we were in the area.

The food was quite good, they had no sausages left though which was disappointing with a mixed grill as no extra food was substituted and the price was the same. We did enjoy what we had though and the staff were friendly. It could do with updating though.

Always call here when in Cornwall and have never been disappointed with food or service. 2nd visit this holiday. Today I had steak although asked for medium rare it was more medium. Not enough to make me complain as was still delicious. It's the only little negative I've found that's my reason for mentioning it. Will definitely be returning.

We have called here for the last 4 yrs whilst on holiday and have never been disabled. My husband and I both had scampi tonight. Everything was delicious. Our experience was made even better by the 2 young lads on tonight ( don't mean to be rude but don't know your names and when your in your 50's anyone below us is young lol) they were kind helpful and friendly definitely service with a smile. As I need to take medication before a meal they were happy to get me water etc to enable me to mix my medication up. Nothing seemed to much trouble. Definitely be back again before we go home.

So we stopped here after having a lovely day out, mainly because it had a play area for the kids. When we arrived they said there was an 1 hr wait for food, because kids could be kept entertained we thought this was ok. The food arrived and the portion sizes for the money was discusting. I had curry with a very dry popadom. No one came over asked if everything was ok infact staff were very blarzy and didnt really care about customer service. Its over priced for what you get, we were all still hungry when we left.

Decided to stop here I the way back from a wonderful day out.. Table sticky, restaurant staff stood talking about mops and dirty floors then went onto clean around us.... It was early evening surely they should do this before they start serving. Ordered 3 mixed grills, food fatty, meat covered in pepper, I think to give it some taste!! Chips cold, peas hard. Once we had decided to give up eating , we were asked if everything was ok, we told the waiter it was covered in pepper which wasn't stated on the menu making it difficult to eat! No apology, I guess there used to people not being happy, therefore didn't care!!!

Came here for a family meal and the service was awful, one woman in paticular was really rude and had no waiting skills at all. The food made me really bad and I had to leave early and when my husband came home he was also ill, we had the same. I emailed the resaurant to let them know that to stop it from happening to anyone else they may want to throw away their seafood as it made us bad and I never even had a response back which I thought was really rude too. They also made us feel really awkward about bringing our baby to the restaurant as they were moaning that there was no where to put the push chair and wanted us to take her out but she was asleep and would have had to hold her while we was eating our hot food, not ideal!

We visited as a family of around 25 for a 30th birthday. Driving in it looks quite nice and appealing with pretty hanging baskets etc, as we entered the car park we soon realised it wasn't all that great, huge pot holes and the bottom half of the car park full of caravans... We carried on inside to meet the rest of the family to discover the bar area was quite 'dark and dingy' with children running riot screaming. This continued throughout the evening with the barman shouting the occasional 'shut up' and 'stop running' which had no effect what so ever.We continued into the restaurant and we were given menus and told we had to go up to the counter to order. We did as asked but were then told we had to pay up front for the food and pay separately at the bar for the drinks which we did but thought was a bit strange.I ordered a steak pie which was OK but rather greasy but my partner ordered the mixed grill and asked for his steak rare... the steak came out completely well done. My partner waited for someone to come over to ask how the food was which never happened so took the plate up to the counter where a woman took the plate looked at the steak and said 'that looks raw to me' my partner disagreed so she stormed out to the kitchen with the plate. A young male waiter then brought the plate back out and said 'the chef said its raw' and walked off.... we then proceeded to get dirty looks from the staff for the rest of the evening. A few other family members said that their food was OK but from our experience we weren't impressed and won't be returning.

We booked for 6 adults & 3 children for Sunday carvery after seeing the children's play area including a bouncy castle. Ideal for young children. we mentioned that I use a wheelchair. The carpark was so bad, ful of holes & uneven ground that there was no way a wheelchair could be used. Having gone up the slope we then found steps up to the restaurant & were advised by a customer there was an entrance up the hill round the corner. We walk through the very dark bar area, very difficult for my father who has macular degeneration, & were taken to our table - up a step & our party were on separate tables! Due to his sight my dad ordered a meal from the menu as did our son for his 3yr old. The rest of us had the carvery. We were not told of the long wait for the meals to be brought but were advised to get our carvery. We had almost finished so asked when the 2 meals would be brought to be told they were beoing dished up. !0mins later my dad cancelled his as he didn't want to eat alone & our little one had just gone passed it! Service very poor indeed! The carery was quite nice but probably won't go back there. Sorry folks. Lots of improvement needed & please note getting wheelchairs up steps is not good for the user or the carer!!!!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We decided to stop at the Whitehouse Inn for dinner on the way back to our holiday home after a visit to the Eden Project. Our first impressions were good - the building looks beautiful with a lot of colourful hanging baskets outside. Our optimism waned a little when we entered the car park at the rear which was pitted with huge pot holes, something that could easily be taken care of with some bags of gravel, and the bin outside that was overflowing rubbish on to the floor. The signage was also a little confusing with a no entry sign next to the wheelchair ramp into the courtyard, a wheelchair accessible sign by the stairs next to it, both below a sign directing us that way to the bar and restaurant. The courtyard itself was pretty albeit a little shabby. The fountain would have made a nice centre piece if it wasn't for the fact it was full of stagnant water. We entered the bar up some steps at the side of the building and had high expectations due to the attractive appearance of the exterior of the building itself. However, the bar was dark and dingy, and had the appearance of a run down social club rather than an a listed building. We walked round to the restaurant area where a sign told us to wait for a member of service staff to seat us, and we were quickly greeted by a very pleasant young lady who took us to our table. The restaurant was presented better than the bar but still needed attention. The furniture was old with untreated wooden tables covered in red wine stains, dirty windowsills and radiators peeling paint. The service system was very strange. After being seated, we were brought menus and told that we had to go back round to the bar for our drinks, then to a small counter in the corner of the restaurant to place and pay for our orders. We found this a very strange set up that we hadn't encountered before - half restaurant half pub. Having been seated by a member of service staff, we expected table service for our food orders at least. In a pub chain, you can order both food and drinks at the bar but here you had to complete two separate transactions in two different areas. The staff were very nice but we were confused at this, as other than seating us, taking our order at the counter and bringing us our food, they were stood around looking bored. The food arrived quickly but there was only one other table occupied at the time, and was very tasty. However, when our table was cleared by a member of staff, he dropped a knife and fork on the floor (and acknowledged it) then forgot within 30 seconds to come back and pick them up, and there they stayed until we left. We were happy with the food but we would recommend the management spend a little time and money sprucing the place up a bit, and reviewing the service strategy. Either provide table service for food orders or enable guests to order both food and drinks together at the counter or bar.

Recently visited on return from the cider farm nearby, it was Friday lunch time and we must've been the first people in. Taken back by the size of the place, children friendly yes but was sad to see the big soft play area was shut down.Food for us was fantastic, and served in a sensible time at a reasonable price (7 adults, 2 children £82)Customer service not bad but no one checked to see if our food was OK, no one greeted us on arrival and no one said thanks when we left, poor considering we spent over £100 Inc drinks on a quiet lunchtime. All in all worth a stop for a quick bite if you're passing but nothing to get excited about. This pub COULD me amazing with the size and location of the place if only the owners spent some money bringing it up to date!

We drove past during the morning on our way to Newquay, saw the amazing garden for the children and decided we would stop dinner on the way back to camp site! The garden area idea is great, but run down but our son still loved it!! We did find a piece of glass we had to remove out the sand so would recommend your children keep their shoes on! My partners food was amazing, he had Goats cheese tart!! My sons was okay, the beans came out and looked like they had been on the plate a while! Then mine came out, garlic chicken. Sounded amazing on the menu! To begin with it tasted okay then I realised it was a bowl of oil!! Was advertised as a creamy dish, had no cream what so ever! Maybe they were having a off day as the service was great, garden awesome just needs a bit of a update! Would come back again but avoid the garlic chicken!

We went here twice last week for our tea as we was stopping at Perran Sands caravan park and i must say the food was really lovely, cooked to perfection. Both times i had the steak, onion and mushroom roll with curly fries and side salad and my partner had the 8oz gammon with home made chips. We would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone stopping in the area. I'd like to add the staff here was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble, if we're ever in the area again we would call in again for tea. The prices wasn't to bad either compared to other eateries in the area.

Without fail the worse pub I have ever visited for a Sunday lunch!! The server at the carvery was touching her hair, face, nose and wiping sweat from her forehead and then touching plates without washing her hands!! The meat was dry, potatoes raw, the stuffing was clearly from a packet, ditto with the Yorkshire puddings. The tables were stained and the whole place generally needs a spruce up! They say they cater for gluten free however no gluten free gravy available even when requested? Staff are rude and openly whinge about each other in full earshot of guests. I would never recommend this place and will definitely not be returning but will definitely be letting environmental health know about the poor food hygiene standards!

The person carving the meat was wiping sweat from her face and touching her noes etc then handling plate, really put me off eating. The food was average, potatoes dry and overcooked and the veg was mush. Food all over the floor by carvery station. No uniform for the staff one was wearing a vest top another wearing a baseball cap. One lady was in tears whilst complaining it was that bad.

We have stopped off for meals at the Whitehouse Inn every year and although I have read some criticisms we as a party of 4/6 have honestly never had to complain. The bar area gives you plenty of choice on real ales or draught whilst the rustic restaurant area caters for couples or parties. Food choices include 'specials board' or family favourites at reasonable prices. 3 ordered surf and turf with medium rare, medium and well done steaks all cooked to their liking, our other meal on this occasion chicken carbonara, was also well cooked. Friendly chatty server/waitress who made us feel welcome. Overall, well worth a stop over to sample the beers, food and even time for kids to enjoy some of the facilities around and about.

We booked a table Thursday 9th June, as we thought the pub looked a great place to go, as we kept passing it everyday. We were shown to our table and then left there for 10 minutes no menus were given to us, the waitress never explained how the ordering process worked, so we gave up and went looking for some menus of which we found outside the restaurant but near the bar!! we took pot luck and went to the counter to order our food, Luckily it was the right place. The food finally came after a 50 minuet wait. we were going to have a dessert but due to not finishing our meal till late we decided against it. The food was nice, the scampi cooked just right but my moms medium steak was over cooked! they were served with a salad garnish but it looked more like something they took out of a rabbits hutch!! Yuk...i'll only pop in for a drink next time as the beer garden was nice..

I recently went to The Whitehouse restaurant with my family, one of whom is a Vegan for medical reasons, we had called ahead to check they did a Vegan friendly roast, which we were told they did. When we went to the carvery counter a family member was told they didn't do a separate roast and he would have to pay the same but not have the meat. Because of this he asked if instead of not having the meat could they just put it on a side plate for the rest of the family to enjoy. We were told that because the carvery is "cheap enough" that they would not do it as they don't want to encourage people to share their meals. On top of the poor staff and lack of a Vegan option, the food was very poor. The meat was all over cooked, the pie was burnt and the vegetables were over cooked and tasteless.

I feel sorry for the staff that had to suffer the table next to us, the staff were very polite, the portions are amazing for the value and by what i could see from the carvery queue the kitchen seemed spotless. I was stood behind the lady that complained she could not have everything in the meat section... I would like to point out that there weas not 3 meats available, there were 2 meats or a homemade pie, which was delicous. When the lady complained about the 4 slices of meat she had been given... which i saw filled half her plate, the carvery chef explained that he would take the plate to the head chef and ask if his portion control was correct (As a chef I totally apreciate what and why he did this), whilst stood behind the customer I overheard her say... "I bet they are spitting on my food!"... I as a chef was horrified to think that people can be so nieve in this day and age to even think that establishments would even do this. My familly had to suffer sitting next to this table and overheard a member of the party say "This is why we hate going out to eat with her". To add insult to injury having endured the badly behaved children and having to listen to her rants, when the waitress asked if everything was ok, they replied yes everything is great thankyou. We spent the restof the day at the pub so the kids could use their fun park, only to notice the party that had created a scene, spent the whole day at the pub. I could tell you all about how I ended up in the checkout queue at a supermarket only to have the same woman in front of us talking very loudly about how bad the food was and how they had been treated to the checkout girl but as I am sure most people can see this is obviously someone that likes to put people down but doesn't realise what impact this can have. We have visited the Whitehouse Inn on several occassions since this had happened and can safely say the food is of a great standard and we love every visit. We will continue to return as long as we never have to sit on a table next to such a horrendous woman. I hope people can read between the lines of a couple of bad reviews you have had, as this is not the same experiences we have had from this establishment.

Came for Sunday lunch yesterday. So disappointed.Should have been a red flag when we rang this morning to book for lunch and was told you had no other bookings. Firstly have never been to a carvery where you can only choose 2 of the 3 meat options, and then get given one small slice of each. The 'roast' potatoes were deep fried, not roast, and the carrots weren't even peeled. They were just cut lengthways in 4. Lazy cooking.Hardly any choice of veg, the unpeeled carrots or soggy broccoli.I was hungry so thought I'd make the most of it, sat down to eat and found hair in my food. Blonde hair. I'm not blonde. The guy serving was rude and when I said I wasn't pleased about not getting a full choice he disappeared into the back room with my plate, who knows what happened to it back there. When I went to complain about the hair in my food 2 members of staff, who I think might have been asleep just stared at me for a little while, not saying a word, until another lady came out and sorted me with a refund. Left the building hungry and annoyed. Really not how I'd expect to feel after paying the best part of a tenner for a meal.I left the above review on the Facebook page and have been fielding a barrage of rudeness all day, calling me slanderous accusing my review of being untrue and threatening me with legal action. My friend who is a vegetarian and had a seperate meal was up being sick all night, she mentioned this in the comments and was called a liar, not a single apology in sight. I deleted my review in the end as it was getting boring having the management acting out like a child and arguing over everything that was said, although I made sure to screenshot all of the comments in the thread in case I get called a liar again. I can easily prove everything I say it true.

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

Really good full Cornish. Generous portions. The bacon was griddled so tasty and not greasy, Harvey's sausages are ways peppery perfect. Would've like a hot plate and homemade beans rather than tinned. Will defo go back. The decaf coffee was dreadful though!
