Thought it was quite expensive for what it was. The burgers were tasteless and burger buns wet at the bottom. The pulled pork loaded fries tasted very weird.

My wife and I only wanted a light snack. We shared a baguette along with some salad. The baguette was dry and tasteless and the side salad was inedible, however the teas were hot and refreshing. The service could have been better, in all a little disappointing. With a variety of eating venues around Bristol harbour side we won’t go back.

We had a good hopes for this place - we planned a quick lunch with a river view but we ended up being very disappointed. Indoors - the place is grubby and the toilets dirty and smelly. When we arrived several tables were full of plates and food leftovers and 3 young members of staff were chatting behind the counter. We waited a while and then we had to ask a waitress to clear the table. She reluctantly did so, but left the table sticky and with spilt liquid. We had to ask again to have the table wiped which was met with a heavy sigh. We ordered 3 drinks, 2 soups and 3 portion of chips. 2 drinks were served. 2 soups and 2 chips. We had to ask for the third drink. We had to ask again for the 3rd portion of chips. All served spaced in time so it was nearly 45 min when they got out our order. The manager was there (short men with curly black hair) but when I started speaking to him he just turned mid sentence and went back to the kitchen. Absolutely appalling service . They know they will always get customers as it's a lovely spot so they couldn't care less about service.

It was my first time visiting Bristol, where I was going to the SS Great Britain for a business meeting, before which I called in at the Harbourside Kitchen for a quick a coffee and cake, but the smell of bacon soon changed my plans. The Captain's breakfast is amazing and certainly filling which unfortunately meant I didn't have room for cake... but I did have an ice cream from there on my way home! The staff are nice and friendly, and everywhere was clean and tidy. I will definitely be going there again if I visit Bristol.

We stopped in here at 11.40 this morning. Looked at the breakfast menu which was on the table and joined the queue a minute or 2 after. We got to the till and proceeded to order our food when we were told the kitchen had closed at 11.45 for breakfast orders. The time had just ticked over to 11.46 whilst we were giving our order. She refused to serve us despite it being 1 minute passed the time and told we had to wait until 12pm when the kitchen reopened for lunch. We explained that it was 11.45 when we ordered the food but she still refused to serve us. This is appalling service and we will not be going back there any time soon. The fact that we had ordered dead on the time and it was not stated before hand is not good customer service.

Lovely spot by the SS Great Britain to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Food was pretty good, but I marked them down as the Captain's Breakfast appeared with an additional item which wasn't mentioned on the menu - blood pudding! If I'd known in advance I'd have asked them to not add it - so it was a waste of the item, and it spoilt the enjoyment for me - so a lose, lose situation all round!! Otherwise, the ambience is great and the staff are very attentive. Just be aware also, they don't take cash anymore

So we had been to the SS Great Britain, the kids were getting tired and the prospect of another walk to find somewhere to eat when we don’t know Bristol eateries very well led us to eat here. It’s a nice space, probably very lovely in summer when it’s opened up a bit. But on a feb early afternoon we just wanted a bit of lunch. I ordered the special Cornish pastie with chips, my wife had soup, one daughter had a pre packed sandwich and the other had kids chicken nuggets and chips. Along with a tea, coffee and couple of tins of Fanta. Initially all was well. Drinks came. Prepacked sandwich was eaten. But some 35minutes later when the staff member who served up bowled up with her own lunch and sat at the table next to us we realised we had been waiting quite a while for our lunch. We chased the staff and 10 minutes later the food showed up. The soup was nice, the nuggets and chips all got eaten, my Cornish pastie dry, very dry… crumbled up into bits as soon as you went near it and the kids portion of chips that came with the nuggets was about twice the size as the portion I got with my pastie. I wish I jumped on Tripadvisor as there are many much better options not very far away if you want your lunch. Give it a go if you just want a cuppa… but I wouldn’t go back for anything to eat.

We had a 2pm Guided Tour booked on SS Great Britain which is adjacent to the cafe and as that only gave us 40 mins to spare, we enquired how long our soup and baps would take. We were assured it would be 10 mins or 15 mins at the most. In fact, the food took 35 mins to arrive despite us chasing it. Not the most enjoyable snack we've ever had - in the circumstances.

Beautiful location in Bristol docks, the interior of the café clean and tidy. Five of us went for breakfast before going to look at the SS Great Britain. If you are visiting the SS Great Britain, this cafe is very convenient for a meal. Not a great choice, but adequate. The lunches are light e.g. jacket potatoes, soups, quiche etc. Plenty of drinks and cakes too.

Only a very short review here but we stopped for a quick coffee before visiting the SS Great Britain. It was early so the cafe wasn't too full. Service was very friendly, coffee came up pretty quickly, good flavour, price acceptable. I did see a few guests with full English breakfast and that looked good. Only downside is a lack of toilets so if it was busy there would have been a queue.

Take your own food and drink if you are visiting SS Great Britain as this place was dead loss. We gave up.

Sign outside says 8.30 for food and drink, the menu states 8.00 yet the reality was 7.30! We were at the counter at exactly 7.30 but 7.31 when my turn came. Would they serve us? No way. Now, I had travelled from Swansea to see the balloon festival only to be told over the tannoy it was cancelled, so I was having a bad day! Nevertheless if 7.30 is when food orders stop, make sure it says it somewhere, anywhere!

Nice coffee and the cakes looked great but having taken our order they then gave the last pieces of the cake we wanted to another customer. Refund given but not a word of apology - apparently they don't need return custom, which is good for them because we won't be returning.

We had driven to see the SS Great Britain and needed a quick coffee before starting the ship tour. Right next to the dock gate and ticket office is this Cafe. Very friendly service, very efficient service - coffee was wonderful and hot and, more importantly, just the right strength. All round 101% satisfaction for service, choice, presentation, cleanliness for the coffee bar. We didn't sit and eat inside but just drank our coffees and water outside in the sunshine. We liked it.

Nice usual menu a bit different from the 'norm' eateries. Had fried halumi on a portabella mushroom with homemade tomato salsa on a yummy bun with salad and hand cut chips. Also had chicken shamwara on a flatbread with yoghurt and mint dressing and same chips. Excellent value for money and decent sized portions. Will certainly visit again.

My only choice for my gluten free lunch was a jacket potato with cheese! Whereas for everyone else there were sausages and mash, pastries, sandwiches, toasties, soup and a huge variety of cakes. Very, very disappointing.

We stopped off here because it was pouring with rain. My expectations were low, because museum cafes aren't always particularly impressive. Everything about the Dockyard was excellent. Great coffee, delicious cakes, friendly service, scrupulous cleanliness, and even some inspirational poetry in the toilets! Jamila served us, and was completely lovely; what a great smile and sense of humour. Next time I go to Bristol I'll go out of my way to visit the Dockyard.

My wife and myself visited on quite a busy lunch time, the staff worked hard to clear the tables and attend to the customers needs.Overall the food was plentiful, tasty and promptly served. It is a Cafe and not a fancy restaurant, well done in providing exactly what was expected, thank you.

All we ordered was coffee and cake, and it took a long time to be delivered. when it came, both were good, and the coffee was hot - I guess they need another coffee machine, since that seemed to be the bottleneck.

As we had just visited Brunel's ss Great Britain, we decided to stop here for a quick refreshment. Wish we hadn't bothered, whilst the staff were very polite and the service was quick greater care should have been taken with regard to the cleanliness of the cups etc, we were presented with two cups one of which was chipped and the other stained inside, whilst this may not be a problem for some people it put me off from ordering anything else.

Reasonable kids lunch package which was filling enough for an 8 and 10 year old. Dry bread and slow service for the adults food. Bring a picnic!

Toilets reeked. Large breakfast was Luke warm. Students sat on stairs making it difficult to get to the usual upstairs spoons bogs.

Came for a comedy night, wasn’t sure what to expect but really good set up, good lively pub downstairs serving all the classics and great pizzas and some great local beers (including Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout which is excellent) plus packed out comedy gig upstairs, really nice crowd and top notch comedy. On weekday events they have pre event special of pizza plus a drink for £15 which is pretty good value. Only slight improvement would be putting a second server on bar upstairs before the gig started but queue went down pretty quickly.

We had a lovely lunch here at the George Inn. The food was scrumptious and customer service was amazing. Claire, Sally and Heidi were lovely.
