We were looking forward to âPie Nightâ for a long time, since our friends had been previously. We were not disappointed! The pies were absolutely delicious - especially my fish pie. Out of this world good and hands down the BEST most scrumptious fish pie Iâve ever had. Extremely generous portions, hot veggies, yummy desserts and wonderful service. Really enjoyed ourselves and canât wait to go back for more.

Pleasant midweek lunch enjoyed hereâŚreasonable choice of pub grub from bar menu; good food; sensible pricing & welcoming/good service from the outset. Adequate choice of drinks for our needs too. Would recommend & happily return if ever in the area.

We visited The White Lion in June as a couple. This visit was with our teenage grandsons and we were not disappointed. We had three different burgers and a pizza which was personalised for a picky eater. We all agreed the burgers were the best we had ever eaten and the pizza was polished off very quickly. Again the service and ambience was perfect and we were made feel like locals. This is the first time I have given somewhere a second review but it certainly deserves it. Do give it a try you wonât be disappointed. We will definitely return when we are back in the area.

Been to Hughsies again for a few meals while on holiday in Seaton. Lovely breakfasts freshly cooked and good service. Lunches were a more difficult choice as there was a good selection and I know from experience that whatever we chose would be delicious. I have seen a number of negative comments on here but my husband and I have never had a problem. Nice clean cafe and good fresh cooked meals. We will be back again next year.

It is so difficult these days to find pubs that are open at the beginning of the week and which have a decent menu and the White Lion has both! This was one of the best meals we have had in the area and the place was really busy, even on a Tuesday lunchtime. The menu had a good selection and we had the salmon and the home made steak and red pie which were both really nice, followed by an orange and marmalade pudding with Drambuie custard. Very reasonable prices too. The pub itself is very old and quirky with low ceilings and a beautiful beer garden and is dog friendly. Weâll definitely be back and look forward too to enjoying the garden in the better weather!

Teignmouth has more than its fair share of boozers, really good to see when many pubs are closing down. This is a no-nonsense pub, right on the harbourside (and I mean RIGHT on the harbourside!). Bet it's lovely to sit outside on a sunny day. We were there on a rainy February night, and there was a band just warming up ready to play. Friendly bar staff. Cheap drinks.

Fantastic hospitality and wonderful food. Sunday roast to die for: roast beef cooked perfectly, vegetables, excellent choice for time of year, also cooked to perfection. Not my first visit and looking forward to my next. Thank you, Sheila, Graham & Staff đ Regards A-J & Pat
