Condado lounge lived up to expectations. The food was reasonably priced with a wide selection and very tasty. This is not a gourmet establishment but it’s ideal for a family meal (with dogs) or get together. The atmosphere is cosy and casual in a worn way with outdoor eating at the back.

Very expensive beer at £6.50 a pint, I normally pay £4.50 for it. The fish pie I ordered was dry and 80% mashed potatoes, I did find a little fish at the bottom but without any sauce. Others in the party complained about their poor food. I'm not going back.

A good reputation for fish, lobster etc. Despite this the battered fish was disappointing as the batter was not crisp and the fish had not been skinned

Staued for a couple of nights with various memebrs of our family, for a visit to Longleat, Fetsival of Light. The rooms are spacious, well kept, clean and quiet, even some are look onto the main road. smart TV, Wifi, Cofee & Tea, water and fridge all in the room. We ate and drank in the main bar, restuurant area, the staff where all very polite and efficient. They could not do enogh for us. Breakfast was well managed and the staff again very well organied. Plenty of parking and there is a EV charging point right across the road in the filling station.

Dropped into the Walnut Tree on the off chance. We didn't know the area or the pubs. I must say, we were not disappointed. The pub has character and is very family orientated. We found the staff extremely friendly and more than helpful and I hasten to add, most efficient. The food was the bonus. plentiful and extremely tasty! A good range on the menu and a desirable choice at the bar. Overall, it's a thumbs up from me. If you are passing through Mere, then check the Walnut out.

The service on Friday night was second to none and the barman is a friendly oldie like me, maybe Italian or Spanish? . The beer is good the banter is excellent and non partisan, all in their gloomy glorious genuine medieval setting. The whiskies are massively varied but be patient, it takes them awhile to find them on the checkout. Improvement in the somewhat disinterested staff who are there in the week. You need staff with balls for this place, staff make a place like this. Take note. Still five stars. You should see The severed hand, and the ancient door to the toilets. Yanks, newcomers will love it. I have a theory, as do many people on the hand I love this place.

Arrived expecting to find a pub and found it had changed hands two weeks earlier and reopened as an Indian restaurant - we were obviously among the very first customers! We were given a warm welcome, the food was absolutely excellent and the service attentive. I would highly recommend the Goan fish curry, mild and deliciously seasoned.

Visited for midweek dinner whilst visiting the area. We had fish & chip- I can honestly say it was the worst fish & chips ever had. Fish was soggy, almost mushy, and salad had seen better days. Peas were good! I won’t be returning. Very disappointed.
