Very nice pub felt very welcome

We waited 30 mins to get drinks after they forgot them, 1 hour to get our food, and billed us for someone elses drinks as we didn't realise until the check bill after we had got home. Shame as the food was quite good.

Couldn’t fault the Sunday Carvery. Lovely tender meats and vegetables smooth gravy. Service excellent.

Cheerful and helpful staff. A pint of Horizon, Sunday roast and Eton Mess hit the spot for me. Love the resident puppy.

Best burger I have had in a long time. Blue cheese is excellent.

I've lived in Devizes for 27 years and never been in The Moonrakers. But now....i shall go on a regular basis. It's a roomy pub with plenty of seating,clean and fresh decor. The food could not be faulted along with the service. I recommend the tomahawk steak sharing platter....it was incredible. Perfectly cooked and served. Cheerful attentive staff,a fine selection of ciders and beer. Cocktails too....a winner all round. 👍

My partner and I were looking for a nice pub to go for a pint and some good food. Thought we’d give this place a go and we are so glad we did! Service was spot on, servers were really caring and personable. I’d been craving a good burger all week, and have struggled to find anywhere in Devizes that satisfies. This was absolutely delicious. It was a very quiet dinner as we both were enjoying our food too much. My partner can be quite a fussy eater, but was accommodated easily, without fuss and I haven’t seen him enjoy a meal this much in a long time. Thanks for having us, would definitely recommend for a good burger and pint. We will be back!

The Sunday roast is the best in devizes large portion and absolutely delicious 😋

Such lovely food!! We visited on the way back from a long drive. Me and the missus had a flat iron steak each, with the parsley and butter sauce, medium rare, with truffle and pecorino fries and a medium glass of Chardonnay. About £23 for that. Absolutely worth it!!! The steak was good (I mean it's only a flat iron steak) but the fries, sauce, and everything else on the plate was 10/10. Absolutely delicious and will be visiting again! Highly recommended for a nice meal.

Always a great place to eat and have a pint with friends. Their chicken burgers are solid gold!

Me and my partner had dinner here yesterday. The food was truly wonderful, so well cooked. I had the crispy chicken burger, my partner had the rump steak. The staff were kind, and the prices were reasonable

Thought we’d try it out as a friend recommended it a few weeks ago saying how amazing the food was. We went for lunch and it was atrocious to say the least. The front of house staff are lovely, I can’t fault them but the food is basic and most of it looks bought in rather than made in house. The restaurant is disgusting. The walls are covered in black marks and the furniture is all worn and stained and some of the chairs are damaged. Some walls have different paper while others are painted green. It’s quite clear that no attention has been payed to the aesthetic or appearance of this place. The outside of the building is gorgeous, lovely original beams, shapes and features but the inside doesn’t reflect this. Probably a nice enough place for a pint but not exactly a beautiful restaurant.

I used to really enjoy eating here 5+ years ago. I'm not one to give a 1 star reviews lightly but the food has been disappointing on my last few visits and barring the fries was inedible on my last visit. I can't see myself going back.

Attended with friends to celebrate my birthday. Waitress was welcoming and friendly. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the flat iron steak and it was beautifully cooked and tender. Almost as good as some fillet steaks I’ve had. The mushroom sauce was delicious. Good menu options. Will return. Cheers.

Generally ok. Cumberland sausages ordered were certainly not Cumberland, just standard pork which actually appeared not exactly butcher fresh. Mushroom starter tasted great but was a little watery causing soggy ciabatta. Maybe due to being a quiet week-night..

My good what a disappointment to myself. The roast came out hot and tasty and I could not eat it all. The service was fantastic and there was a good selection of vegetables. Not 1 complaint was heard from our table and from the other tables around. Not all of the family had roasts, but still did not stop the chef from cooking what we wanted. Hats off to the staff for all that they do to keep all the customers happy. Keep up the good work and great food.

Visited recently for a birthday meal. All of our food was cold or undercooked. Medium rare steak was still mooing in the middle. The waitress was attentive and tried to resolve the situation as best as she could. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Visited recently for a Birthday meal and have to say it was awful. We wish we went elsewhere! All 6 main meals were cold and we had issues with food being undercooked. The member of staff was helpful and tried her best to resolve the situation. However I will not be returning as it was so horrendous.

All of our food was cold or undercooked. I ordered a medium rare flat iron steak and it was served blue. The waitress was great and offered bring replacement food out. When the extra broccoli and chips came, again, they were raw/cold. The highlight of our meals was either the salad or the cold chips. Great drinks though.

This is a must if you want a Sunday roast, one of the best pub lunches I've had in a long time, Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, well done keep it up and we will be back.

Went in for a Sunday roast everything was excellent especially the cauliflower cheese! Only reason i knocked a star was the beef was very very pink which isn't how i like it but some people do.

Our first and last time visiting this pub!!!!! A pub that advertised as a steak and grill house, they are not very good at cooking steak. Asked for medium-rare and came out over done, sent it back and the second one was medium-well done.. My wife’s bigger was also tasteless. I would suggest looking for alternative steak house.

Sunday lunch was not good roasted potatoes were awful. Veg was tepid. Portion size was small. Service was poor very slow especially when there was only three groups of people. Wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be returning

Very disappointed in this meal. I went on word of mouth that it was good as I had a disappointing meal ages ago I wish I had stuck to my words and not eat in there again. Dinner was cold, very salty and sorry I can't have much salt. Bar staff slow and sorry 1 of the staff is dressed inappropriate where I could see her gusset. Tables took ages to clear and asked for puddings.

Visited for food, great selection, even for vegetarians. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend a visit.

We reserved a table for a large group of guys! They got our orders wrong, they only had 3 fillet steaks, no prawn dishes and 1x tomahawk steak available. They totally messed our orders up and even when they took the order for some of us a second time, it still came out wrong. Food was served on an ad-hoc basis with some meals making their way to our table long after some member in our party finished their meals. there were other folks who left due to slow service. Even paying up ended in a disaster being told that "someone has not paid" resulting one individual in the group paying double. Other members of the public whom turned up after us, waited for their food orders to be taken for such a long period of time, that they ended up paying for their drinks and leaving to find food elsewhere. At the cost you are paying for the food, one would expect a better service with better availability of steaks considering that is what you specialise in. As a group we were looking at ordering 7x tomahawk steaks (approx £60 ea) with 4x fillets (approx £27 ea) in essence resulting in a bit of a financial loss for Moonrakers due to availaiblity of said items as we had to settle for lesser non-desired items on the menu... As a gesture of goodwill we were offered £20 off the total bill. This however does not make up for the lack of choice, poor service and inability to correctly note customer orders. As such, I would not recommend Moonrakers

Usually I'm very happy with my visits to The moonraker, but today was very disappointing. We ordered our meals and it took exactly 1 hour to arrive. I did very nicely ask the waitress how much longer did we have to wait! I ordered fish and chips which is normally lovely. But today batter was Burnt to a crisp . My partners Lasagna was nice . I also wasn't very impressed with the cleanliness of The Toilets . The toilet was dirty and had toilet paper on the floor .

Wow just wow got to be the best tomahawk steak I’ve eaten. Cooked to perfection by paulo. The Parmesan truffle fries are awesome. Now just enough room for chocolate fudge cake. Thank you paulo. 🙂

My wife and I visited the Moonrakers Steakhouse, Bar & Grill during our stay in Wiltshire. We were made very welcome by the friendly Landlord and the staff on arrival for our Dinner. The Cider was very refreshing and the Food was well prepared and tasty, especially the Cheesecake for dessert. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned to this Restaurant on another occasion. We are somewhat surprised that the Moonrakers Steakhouse, Bar & Grill only have a 3.5 star Rating with Tripadvisor.

Wonderful place, the friendliest staff, the most delicious food, very family orientated, disabled friendly. Clean and lovely decor. Toilets are spotless! Big car park right outside. Perfect 👌 10 out of 10 and 5 stars.

We visited here after going the wrong way and I’m glad we didn’t. Their food serving times are from 6pm we got there around 5:30pm and ordered at 5:45pm we weren’t told we were early they saw we were a family with a toddler and served us slightly early. They brought drinks to the table. The children’s menu is a mix and match which is perfect for younger dinners as they get to chose what they will eat. The adults menu has a large variety. The grills allow you to pick your own side and cone with a choice of sauces included in the very reasonable price. Most pubs charge extra for a sauce it was very good value. The food including the children’s meal was generous portions you could tell was cooked fresh and was lovely. The deserts were a generous size including the children’s desert again with lots of variety even stocking toffee ice cream. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Glad we went the wrong way and found this wonderful pub. Good value, welcoming and good food we will be going back.

We booked for lunch seen as it’s our local as we had family visiting from London it was Easter when we came in and the pub was completely empty . The food quality was just poor , steaks chewy very basic frozen chips and peas. Very disappointing could do better at home don’t waste your money. When they changed hands in the summer we did have a roast which was lovely so the reason we went back ...but it seems to have new management since and it’s gone down hill . Won’t be returning .

Short notice booking, received an excellent service, steaks turned up as asked for, asked if we where happy, landlord even come over to see if we needed anything and where happy, rare in today's busy pubs, will visit again

Booked a table for 1 o clock, there was 7 of us, restaurant was not busy, they had a large table in but we had come in after them. Ordered straight away, there was only a choice of roast beef or pork and yet it took over an hour to serve a very poor cold roast dinner. We were only asked if we would like more drinks and not asked how the food was. The portions were not good either and as it was quiet couldnt see what the delay was. But we thought we`d give puds a go, i mean what could go wrong with a pud. They took over half an hour to microwave ( the pub was by now empty) and when they arrived they did not get them all right and the whipped cream was not whipped. Very disappointed and will stick to good old Wetherspoons in the future, or Toby Carvery where you get value for money.

Absolutely terrible, booked a table for 1.30 food eventually arrived at 2.45! All 10 meals were stone cold, very little meat, none of the family party ate their meals. Asked to speak to manager, who after 20 minutes had not bothered to come over to speak to us. Paid drinks bill refused to pay for food... will it be eating here again

As i said a problem with one meal namely mine but to be honest they couldn't say sorry enough and gave me a free pint and a discount on the meal. I would go there again.

Good choice of food available. The staff were very good dealing with a guest's dietary requirement. Service was a little slow on occasions, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

We wanted to watch football and grab some lunch so this seemed the perfect place. The tv was about 32" high up on a wall so not the best viewing.

Great welcome. Had to wait for our food as awkward so and so me, ordered something that had to be made fresh! They informed us of this wait politely and brought the children's meals out so they didn't get fed up waiting without being asked to do so, I swear it didn't take as long as they said to expect though.

Try the Bells whiskey and marmalade brioche (bread and butter pudding). Its amazing! Good steaks on Thursday steak night too. A great around pub.

The staircase leading to the bedrooms was extremely shabby and the carpet was in need of a good clean. There were bin liners full of what appeared to be dirty linen in one of the bathrooms with the door open for all to see. The bedroom was badly in need of re-decoration and the beds were not very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom had damp coming through one of the walls.Money needs to be spent to bring this place up to an acceptable standard and to justify the price.We were glad we had only booked for one night.

Stayed here for a long weekend and loved it. The pub is extremely friendly with the staff giving fantastic service. Food was great and really reasonably priced. Stayed here with my partner and the whole feel was really gay accepting - so welcoming.

The staff were nice enough and the beer well kept but the interior feels a little run down and the food was average at best. We would have been better off in terms so if choice and value for money if we continued a little further to the high street in Devizes.

I used to love this place but the last 4 times we’ve been, our steaks (ordered medium) have been rare, really bloody... shouldn’t have to keep sending them back to the kitchen as it interrupts our meal! After all it’s meant to be a steakhouse...

Not at all what I expected from the website or reviews. On walking in you quickly realise it is not a steakhouse but a pub. The menus are like a cheap English bar in Spain or a menu from a littlechef in the 90s. The meal descriptions sound nice, and price reasonable if good quality. BUT when the food comes, it is cheap pub grub and not matching descriptions. Had gone out planning on a steak night, on seeing the menu thought was best not to waste the money. Went for a safe option of a burger - Not homemade or local butcher quality as you would expect in a steakhouse, more of a frozen supplier or brakes etc. Service was so slow, in the end we opted to order at the bar as table service so slow, then got table service drinks, then had to order more at bar as slow again, nobody checked on quality or happiness.

We had booked in as a group of 6 for 2pm on Mothers Day. We arrived at 1.50pm and were able to take our places at the table. The tables around us were not yet occupied.

Food was absolutely amazing , good portions and great flavours good value for money , the staff were very welcoming and friendly will definitely visit again 👍👍👍

I had heard some great reviews so I decided to go here for dinner one evening, the staff wasn’t very helpful didn’t even get a hello when we arrived considering the pub wasn’t very busy, food was okay but we waited a long time. Food finely came out but with no cutlery we had to ask for it, felt it could of been a better experience.

Came here for a birthday family meal on a friday. Ordered 3 children meals all came out hot and very generous sizes and great prices too! 5 pound odd for a main,dessert and drink bargain. Unfortunately we only tried the nachos on this occasion ( which were great) but will for sure go back and have a go at a steak. Due to it being a Friday it was very lively, they had a drag queen who was fantastically funny and we all had a good laugh. The staff were brilliant I can't fault them and the manager even went out of his way to ask if it was too noisy. It was a great atmosphere and we all will be going back. We eat at the Moonrakers quite often and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! But disappointed on the last occasion however to find a couple of things now missing from the new menu and quite an increase in prices!!! Most things have only gone up 50p or so, which is totally understandable but the biggest shock was the increase of a good few £££ on the sirloin steak. Added to this the fact that sauces are no longer included in the price and are now charged separately, and you’ve no longer got yourself what we always felt to be a good value meal. Such a shame.

My husband and I visit the Moonrakers quite regularly, often with our 10 year old son. Never had a bad experience, friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price and efficient service. The decor is really nice and cosy but still has a modern and spacious feel. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is because we feel the desserts are little expensive at £4.95, they seem to have gotten smaller lately but price has remained the same. Only a small observation though, all in all we love it and will continue to return.

We walked up to the Moonraker to take a look at how it fairing, having not been back in a while. It seemed moderately busy with happy folk, so decided to eat here.Order were taken fairly promptly, mine a steak and unlimited salad bowl. My bowl arrived for the salad - to fill myself from salad bar, so off I went. What a mess, the salad options were either empty or dried up and congealed, not good. So, there were some cucumber & tomatoes, not much else (this was fairly early evening). Mains arrived, and I had a good solid steak, unfortunately it was very grisly and not particularly good, it was a rump steak, but surely not choosing the most expensive shouldn't mean that it's not edible?No one asked us how our meal was - so we paid up and went - I hate complaining, but we wont be rushing back. Hubbies meal was OK, no great shakes. We didnt expect fine dining, but did expect edible food, sorry Moonraker!

Hubby and I decided to visit The Moonrakers tonight for our dinner. We're glad we did, it beat last nights choice of eating by far!! We both had Rib Eye Steak, his with Peppercorn sauce mine with Bourbon Sticky Sauce, which I ordered extra of as I quite liked it!! Food was cooked just how we requested it to be, and thoroughly enjoyed our meals, wished we came here the previous night too now! If we visit Devizes again this will most deffo be on our top 3 places to come again. Friendly helpful happy staff. No complaints here what so ever. Thank you for a great service and a great meal.

Went here for lunch on Valentine's Day,was fairly busy,staff were very polite and food when we got it was piping hot,steak was cooked just as asked for,only thing wrong was when we arrived only one member of staff to take orders serve food serve drinks make coffee,so had to wait to be served,but then manager arrived and took some of duties on,but as I said food was beautiful and staff were lovely,also nice touch because we had booked I received a metoyou grey bear tied to red heart balloon to take home,prices also were very reasonable.

The Moonrakers Pub in Devizes has had quite a transformation whilst under the new management, who has improved this venue so considerably that it is now one of finest eateries in the area. I frequent here multiple times every month, always with friends or family or both and it has never disappointed. There is adequate seating available and ample space for large groups; outside seating for those summer months and a really spacious bar area. Surpassing the excellent quality food, really conducive décor and an expansive choice of bar tipples and draught beverages, is the incredible customer service from the manager and staff. Turning up without booking is rarely an issue; warmly greeted when arriving and totally customer orientated throughout your visitation. The manager is more than obliging to remedy any issues and would be more than amenable to rectify any problems...you can't expect any better service than that, surely? In the many times I've visited the Moonrakers staff have always been cordial, professional and friendly and have even gone out of their way to make our evening even better. The food is incredible with a wide range of dishes that would cater for all tastes. It certainly has one of the best dessert ranges than any other eatery in the area. The mains menu offers a bespoke customer choice selection so there is no chance of a portion of anything that doesn't tickle your palate. The beers, light ales, cider and wine selections available are seriously decent. This venue also has evenings of live music and can cater for personal functions and special events. This is a progressive place with a superb atmosphere that attracts a very eclectic clientele which is a testament to the wide appeal this venue has. Ample parking outside and being very close to Devizes town centre are added positives. The management is exceptionally customer centred and the staff professionally keen to please and always friendly and polite. This is definitely a place to dine whatever the occasion for a great experience. The steaks, burgers and other meats are cooked to perfection, the chef is a true asset to the venue. Great to see a younger staff body that add sparkle to the venue which creates a really hospitable, lively ambience. Whisper has it that there could be cabaret/ karaoke and themed nights on its way...a venue to watch; progressive, customer centred and top quality food! Thumbs up!

Good menu, excellent food, great service. Five of us visited recently. We enjoyed great meal, good beer and all the staff were friendly and very efficient. Excellent value. Can highly recommend. Will be visiting again, very soon!

Group of 6 evening meal, was pretty good. I'd say 5/5 value for money, 5/5 for excellent service ,attentive and aware of our needs and fast. Food I'd say all good, all hot pretty crisp, hot plates. Good parking on site. Pretty busy with locals too. I'd go again with family.

We visited the Moonrakers restaurant in Devizes on Saturday 19th November 2016.The steaks and service were very good and there was a good choice of salads from the salad bar. This was the first time we had been to this restaurant and we were surprised at finding such a good Steak House in what was quite a remote area of Devizes.

Went here or my partners dads birthday on Tuesday.. Had the burger which I thought was slightly red.... Was violently ill all night and into yesterday... Had to miss a day of work because of this. Not happy about this at all. Still not feeling well but have dragged myself into work as I can't lose out another day.

Went here for a meal with friends, Service was good and starters arrived quickly followed by our steaks, sadly one of them was well done and not medium as ordered, called a member of staff and he said he would replace it shortly but it took so long to arrive that the rest of us had finished our meals and what arrived also looked overdone, left dissapointed and did not pay for the ruined steak and although the staff apologised nothing makes up for a ruined evening. We will not be back

Not knowing the area very well we came here on the off chance and glad we did. The staff were welcoming and friendly, with the food being served within a reasonable amount of time. There was both an adult & children's menu which offered a variety of dishes at reasonable prices. Our meal for 6 came in at just over £10 a head (no alcoholic drinks were had though).Dinner set us up nicely for our trip back to Surrey on the M4!! Would come here again if/when I'm in the area.

Been here a good few times and have always received great service from all staff. The food is really good, I tried to Mac and cheese last night and would definitely recommend it. Would also recommend the burgers and the steaks. Never had to wait to long for food to come out and always have smiley happy staff.

Had Christmas lunch 2014 repeat 2014 at The Moonrakers and a very nice and enjoyable time had by us both. Although nearly a couple of years ago a) still worth a mention, (hopefully they are still providing Christmas Lunch?) and b) we still remember the great food and super service provided on the day! I've been here quite often without reviewing so I though it was about time. When this place first opened the food, drinks and service was all excellent. However over the past few visits the standards had declined somewhat to a point where I considered not going back, I decided to give it another chance, and I'm glad I did. This visit the food was excellent, my steak cooked to a near perfect medium rare, food was served promptly and service was efficient. The one issue I had with this visit was the pint of Wadworths Swordfish that was served, which was off and tasted rather sour. When I returned it I was offered a replacement option without fuss and an apology which is rare.Overall impressed with the visit and glad I decided to give them another chance.

A chain, laminated menu pub serving standard pub fayre. Always well cooked though. Plentiful and well priced. Nice staff, free WiFi and parking.

I was told about this place whilst on a visit to see my mother. The food was terrible you could not tell what sort of steak was being served. the sauce was like water and when i asked the waiter about thickening it up he replied "That`s how it comes out of the packet". Very poor service and they had the cheek to use tinned mushrooms and tried too pass them off as sauteed. I know i could have had a better meal at weathspoons.

Popped in with friends orders were taken at the bar. The food arrived promptly I had the mixed grill which was good but quite salty. Dessert was not offered so did not order

Been here a few times on my visit to devizes and have always been plased with the food and the friendly staff. Good family place :)
