We dined at their pop up in Lyme Regis on a Saturday night. Delightful take on tapas using fish and no meat. We really enjoyed all the dishes with the mackerel being the highlight for us. Looking forward to the next visit. Staff were all very personable and helpful without being intrusive, a fine balance to walk and they managed it well.

Having had a perfect evening meal at The Station Kitchen last year, we made sure to return during our latest trip to West Bay. Now The Platform Restaurant, the place goes from strength to strength. My wife and I love the atmosphere of eating in the railway carriages (complete with gentle rocking as people moved around them!) The food was outstanding in both presentation and taste and it was really nice that the team remembered us from our previous visit and even managed to continue our "flamingo" theme! I also loved that the interior décor included nods to the history of the venue, such as the original exterior "Station Kitchen" signage. We both had the Dartmoor pig cheek starter, which we loved, and then my wife was delighted by the chowder whereas I had an outstanding steak. As a teetotaller, my drinks choice is normally a boring orange juice and lemonade but I decided to be adventurous and ordered a "Craspberry Cooler." This was really nice, so much so I had a second one! The service was warm and friendly - and swift - and making our booking was easy via the website. A final - and new - touch was the chocolate tiffin given with the bill where traditionally restaurants give sweets/mints. This was very tasty and added a nice extension to the evening when I ate it after we got back to where we were staying. We're so glad we returned and will definitely be doing so again whenever we are back in the area.

We visited for the first time last week and had an amazing lunch; the front of the cafe was very busy (a great sign!) and there was lots of lovely outdoor seating in the back courtyard. We had several of the small and larger plates, including an amazing hispi cabbage and a tortilla topped with wild garlic mayo. The food was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had, everything was delicious. I can’t wait to bring friends and family when they visit us!

We thought a fish & chip takeaway would be ideal but when we got it home we discovered misshaped fish had been horribly over cooked so that it was bone dry and all coated in a batter that was impenetrable in places. We had to throw the rubbish away. We thought that buying from a fish & chip shop rather than the several pop ups in the area would give us the best but that most definitely was not the case. We made our purchase at 6pm, so you would think that would be a peak time but you get the impression this place works on the principle of they are only selling to tourists so it doesn't matter what junk they give them. Avoid at all costs - there are so m any other outlets in West Bay

We did a 4 hour walk over Pilsdon Pen and Lewesdon Hill, the highest hills in Dorset, to finish at the Shave Cross Inn. They kindly allowed us to leave the car there during our walk. We had a very welcome drink and warm-up by the fire afterwards :-)

Perfect yorkshires, crispy potatoes , lovely and plentiful veg and gravy and perfect pink beef (you’re asked if you like it pink or not) We will be back !

As we hadn't been to Bridport for quite a while we parked near the football club and wandered in, this being market day. By the time we finished in the bank and made some purchases elsewhere, it was time for a light lunch. The Cafe Bean staff made us feel welcome, we made our order and sat at a table outside in the sunshine. The staff were friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our generous bowl of soup served with granary bread. In preference we will definitely eat here on our next visit to Bridport.

For a 4 night stay in West Bay, we dined here on 3 separate occasions, and... every meal was superb: good size, great quality, realistically priced, excellent service, and a lovely setting (and we wish - so very much - that we'd had our 4th here too, as the alternative - slightly further along the coast - was awful)!

Do not come here for cocktails. Got served a Mojito tasting and looking like a glass of dishwater for £9.50 . Very misleading when the photo on the menu looked like an actual Mojito and the description said ”White rum, lime, mint and sugar”- out came lime looking fizzy drink with a bit of ice and a slice of orange. Disgusting. The Hive lager was good though!

Arrived at 13:25hrs for lunch. The restaurant closes at 14:00hrs and to our amazement we were refused a table, being told they were closed! The attitude was very unhelpful and unsympathetic. The hospitality industry keeps saying it is struggling with NICS increases and minimum wages going up, but with an attitude like this it will be Longs own downfall if they go bust. Easter holidays too! Shame on you.

Stopped by Thursday for fish and chips. Was served by a young guy who was in training and was very polite. Food cooked by another guy who cooked the food to perfection and was very friendly and informative. What a lovely experience

Ate here Friday evening three of us had wood fired pizzas which were delicious, pleasant staff as always. On the Saturday two of us visited for lunch. We had crab sandwiches with a mixed leaf salad, they were tasty enough but £11 seems too much...

We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.

We were back in West Bay for a pre-Easter week-end and after visiting one or two of the pubs/restaurant for lunch decided to visit The West Bay Hotel for Sunday lunch. The welcome from the staff was as expected, still warm and friendly and a very good atmosphere. The roast menu was varied, not expensive, well cooked and certainly value for money. The availability of small plated roast dinner was very welcome for those with smaller appetite. Customers can park fee in the car-park opposite, giving their vehicle registration at the bar. We also visited a couple of evenings for early evening drinks. We would have eaten on these occasions but the kitchen still did not open to 5:50. We would still recommend.
