We dined at their pop up in Lyme Regis on a Saturday night. Delightful take on tapas using fish and no meat. We really enjoyed all the dishes with the mackerel being the highlight for us. Looking forward to the next visit. Staff were all very personable and helpful without being intrusive, a fine balance to walk and they managed it well.

Warned that with a 6pm sitting that we would need to be finished by 7.30. Arrived on time. Were slowed to be served. Found the portion size was very small for the price. Eaten here many times before and always been delighted. The cod this evening was particularly small for the £18 price tag. Cabbage side was £9….they serve ‘tapas’ style but their portion sizes have massively reduced. Madness. Due to the slowness of their service, our guest didn’t have much time to eat desert. Only one of us out of 4 had desert - the apple crumble - which was also disappointing. Warm - not hot, and crumble was terrible - a sprinkling if anything. Needed more for sure. You can’t call a crumble a crumble without the crumble!! The bill presented was £240 and on checking it, discovered they’d over charged us by £100. They also gave us the bill before the end of the meal stating that we had to leave by 7:30 - we didn’t HAVE to go anywhere, but they wanted up out for the next sitting. No apology given. Didn’t thank us for eating there, really sullen waitress. I was unimpressed!!

We had some of the best fish and chips from S & E we've ever had when we stayed in West Bay 2 years ago, so were prepared to wait the 40 minutes it took to be served. We were unsure why it took so long: there were long periods when no-one moved at all. We wish we hadn't done so, as the chips were not nice to eat (they looked grey, were not crisp, and tasted "earthy") and the batter on the plaice was hard and very thick. The only good thing was the plaice itself. That's why I gave more than 1 star. Will we bother to queue again when there is so much competition within a few yards? Very unlikely.

We found this pub online when searching for Sunday lunch. Everywhere else seemed booked up so I wasn't expecting much to be honest - how wrong I was! It's a bit out the way but well worth making the effort. The staff were very friendly on arrival and had reserved us a table and set it up ready. It was busy at the bar with locals and there were a few other couples, with their dogs, eating. I was pleased to see a nut roast on the menu, advertised as 'deluxe nut roast' so went for that, my husband had roast pork. To be fair, the food did take a while to come, however it said at the bottom of the menu -'we dont serve fast food' and when it arrived, it tasted freshly cooked and was well worth the wait! The portions were huge. My husband had five decent slices of pork loin and I had an individual nut roast. With it, we had roast potatoes and two Yorkshire puddings. In separate dishes came carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and carrot and celeriac mash - delicious. My husband had a piece of crackling and some apple sauce and we both had a jug of gravy. The nut roast was packed with cranberries, mushrooms and seeds as well as nuts and rice. We have big appetites and were disappointed that we had to leave some of the veg as we were full. The bill with four soft drinks was £40! Fabulous value. We highly recommend for Sunday lunch and will definitely eat here again on our next visit to the area.

Booked a table for 7 on Saturday 26th October for Sunday lunch on the 27th. We arrived on time at the booked time of 2.30. Shown to our seats where we waited to be served. 20 minutes later the waitress arrived and said that there was no cauliflower cheese left, oh and no chicken, no beef, no gammon, so we had the choice of pork or nutroast. Very annoying as we had pre booked and could then find no where else to seat 7 for Sunday dinner. Just a tough luck attitude. Very dissapointed.

We have been many times over the years and it is a firm family favourite. It is true that it is staffed almost entirely by teenagers as far as I can see, but actually they don't do a bad job in terms of service, considering they are like 14 or something, bless 'em. But the food is good and probably cooked by adults i would think.

My wife and I went to a kiosk to get a burger and chips. The neighbouring business offered local produce but were closed so we went to the Ships Galley. I asked the staff where the beef was from for the burgers (which I don’t think is unreasonable) and was told ‘From a cow’. After that I had fish and chips which was good apart from saying they charge for napkins. Unfortunately the person behind the counter was a tennager with attitude who proceeded to tell the other person the amusing come back comment. I won’t be using the Ships Galley again.

We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.

Lovely pub, our dog loved it! Popped in a few times during our week long holiday, good selection of beers and ciders, reasonably priced. Friendly team behind the bar, good choice of dog treats! Food was very nice, interesting menu. Will come back when in the area
