We dined at their pop up in Lyme Regis on a Saturday night. Delightful take on tapas using fish and no meat. We really enjoyed all the dishes with the mackerel being the highlight for us. Looking forward to the next visit. Staff were all very personable and helpful without being intrusive, a fine balance to walk and they managed it well.

Sadly we had a disappointing work lunch yesterday. To start off on a positive note; our large party of 12 people was able to be seated in the back of the cafe spread out over 3 tables (which was really kind of the staff). The place was very busy, but lovely atmosphere and nice and warm inside. The downfall was unfortunately the food. I ordered a soup with sourdough bread (no cheese), then when I saw my friend's soup arrive, regretted my decision. I've never seen a soup look so oily (it had a thin coating of oil sitting on top of it). I asked the staff if it wasn't too late to change my order and they brought out my salad about 6 minutes later (hence, why I added the extra star). This was a significantly less wait time than the soup. The salad was very tasty, however swimming in oil and vinegarette dressing. My work mate on the table behind me also found a paperclip in her salad, showed the wait staff and was given a small apology. At the end of the lunch, I was knocked on the side of my head with a chair as one of the waiters was trying to carry it to another table and didn't inform me they were even behind me! Again, I was given a "Oh, sorry!" and they didn't even come back to check on me. Well, "Oh, sorry" you guys won't be getting another visit from me!

My wife and I dined today for afternoon tea and we had the best time. The food was amazing and plenty of it, nice warm scones and sausage rolls along with the delicious sandwiches and desserts. The train carridge’s are so cosy and very nicely decorated. The atmosphere was perfect for a cold winters day with the fire going and the ambient lights,it just felt magical. The staff were really good and explained what was in the sandwiches and types of cakes laid out. I would recommend and we will definitely go back.

We had some of the best fish and chips from S & E we've ever had when we stayed in West Bay 2 years ago, so were prepared to wait the 40 minutes it took to be served. We were unsure why it took so long: there were long periods when no-one moved at all. We wish we hadn't done so, as the chips were not nice to eat (they looked grey, were not crisp, and tasted "earthy") and the batter on the plaice was hard and very thick. The only good thing was the plaice itself. That's why I gave more than 1 star. Will we bother to queue again when there is so much competition within a few yards? Very unlikely.

Impromptu meal with family and Swedish friends. It's been a good while since we've been here, and the new owners are great hosts. We had the whitebait and Calamari starters to share (no photo), then mains of beer battered Haddock, Pork, burger and Baked Camember. All were very nice. The atmosphere was lovely and we will return at the end of the month if not sooner as we hear there's a great local female singer playing after Sunday lunch on the 26th Jan! Keep us posted as we've heard they do a fab Sunday lunch, too!

We found this pub online when searching for Sunday lunch. Everywhere else seemed booked up so I wasn't expecting much to be honest - how wrong I was! It's a bit out the way but well worth making the effort. The staff were very friendly on arrival and had reserved us a table and set it up ready. It was busy at the bar with locals and there were a few other couples, with their dogs, eating. I was pleased to see a nut roast on the menu, advertised as 'deluxe nut roast' so went for that, my husband had roast pork. To be fair, the food did take a while to come, however it said at the bottom of the menu -'we dont serve fast food' and when it arrived, it tasted freshly cooked and was well worth the wait! The portions were huge. My husband had five decent slices of pork loin and I had an individual nut roast. With it, we had roast potatoes and two Yorkshire puddings. In separate dishes came carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and carrot and celeriac mash - delicious. My husband had a piece of crackling and some apple sauce and we both had a jug of gravy. The nut roast was packed with cranberries, mushrooms and seeds as well as nuts and rice. We have big appetites and were disappointed that we had to leave some of the veg as we were full. The bill with four soft drinks was £40! Fabulous value. We highly recommend for Sunday lunch and will definitely eat here again on our next visit to the area.

Such a lovely brunch. Food is delicious, staff/owner really friendly and made us feel so welcome. We had roast beef sandwiches, and a Cornish pasty, each with an awesome coffee. Will definitely be coming here again! 😋

Booked a table for 7 on Saturday 26th October for Sunday lunch on the 27th. We arrived on time at the booked time of 2.30. Shown to our seats where we waited to be served. 20 minutes later the waitress arrived and said that there was no cauliflower cheese left, oh and no chicken, no beef, no gammon, so we had the choice of pork or nutroast. Very annoying as we had pre booked and could then find no where else to seat 7 for Sunday dinner. Just a tough luck attitude. Very dissapointed.

We have been many times over the years and it is a firm family favourite. It is true that it is staffed almost entirely by teenagers as far as I can see, but actually they don't do a bad job in terms of service, considering they are like 14 or something, bless 'em. But the food is good and probably cooked by adults i would think.

Ate here Friday evening three of us had wood fired pizzas which were delicious, pleasant staff as always. On the Saturday two of us visited for lunch. We had crab sandwiches with a mixed leaf salad, they were tasty enough but £11 seems too much...

We had a great dinner at the Arts Club. The food was wonderful, the staff were excellent and, being a lovely summer evening, we dined outside in the pretty and surprisingly quiet courtyard.

We visited in the 08Feb for lunch and enjoyed it so much that we booked to come back in the evening for dinner. It’s a lovely location across from the beach and parking which by the way is free if you eat there. Food was lovely but a touch in the pricey side really. Staff were friendly and not in your face every two minutes. A good choice in the menu. Overall a nice experience
