We had an incredible incredible experience at Rubicon Kitchen! The "tide to table" concept really emphasizes the quality and freshness of the seafood, which is nothing short of incredible. The chef owner Olly and hes staff are very friendly and attentive and we cannot wait to go back very soon.

This supper club is a great concept he (Sam) created a large kitchen in this industrial unit some years ago and uses to support his functions and wedding catering , what he has done now is convert the storage spaces around the kitchen into little quirky eating places (his old office is one of them) but the hub is the kitchen . He was always a great chef but his food is now at another level combining sticky ribs and Asian tastes on the same plate . The food comes well presented on wood boards and trust me starve yourself throughout the day the portions are massive. The whole vibe of the place is casual and very friendly. Go there you won’t be disappointed

Always fantastic food and service when we have a takeaway from here, love that you can choose your own combinations for burgers which means all of our friends could have something for them as many prefer to eat different things, great service even as a takeaway from ordering to delivery

Buen servicio, buena comida, y notable relación calidad-precio! Una visita obligada para los viajeros hambrientos.

We dined at their pop up in Lyme Regis on a Saturday night. Delightful take on tapas using fish and no meat. We really enjoyed all the dishes with the mackerel being the highlight for us. Looking forward to the next visit. Staff were all very personable and helpful without being intrusive, a fine balance to walk and they managed it well.

Went here May bank holiday weekend, Sunday afternoon with my partner's cousin. Had to book as it does get very busy. Nice cakes, place is also known for cream tea and savoury scones. Lots of tea choices. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Prices are not bad for a local busy area.

Having had a perfect evening meal at The Station Kitchen last year, we made sure to return during our latest trip to West Bay. Now The Platform Restaurant, the place goes from strength to strength. My wife and I love the atmosphere of eating in the railway carriages (complete with gentle rocking as people moved around them!) The food was outstanding in both presentation and taste and it was really nice that the team remembered us from our previous visit and even managed to continue our "flamingo" theme! I also loved that the interior décor included nods to the history of the venue, such as the original exterior "Station Kitchen" signage. We both had the Dartmoor pig cheek starter, which we loved, and then my wife was delighted by the chowder whereas I had an outstanding steak. As a teetotaller, my drinks choice is normally a boring orange juice and lemonade but I decided to be adventurous and ordered a "Craspberry Cooler." This was really nice, so much so I had a second one! The service was warm and friendly - and swift - and making our booking was easy via the website. A final - and new - touch was the chocolate tiffin given with the bill where traditionally restaurants give sweets/mints. This was very tasty and added a nice extension to the evening when I ate it after we got back to where we were staying. We're so glad we returned and will definitely be doing so again whenever we are back in the area.

We visited for the first time last week and had an amazing lunch; the front of the cafe was very busy (a great sign!) and there was lots of lovely outdoor seating in the back courtyard. We had several of the small and larger plates, including an amazing hispi cabbage and a tortilla topped with wild garlic mayo. The food was honestly some of the best I’ve ever had, everything was delicious. I can’t wait to bring friends and family when they visit us!

This is a lovely little restaurant, we have been many times over the years and it is consistently excellent. The crab soup needs a special mention as it is a favourite of mine. Always beautifully presented and plenty of seasonal vegetables. The specials are always worth a look. The staff are friendly and attentive. It is a little gem

They refuse to take card payments—not because they can’t, but because they’re pushing some smug anti-cashless ideology. Instead of focusing on decent food or customer service, they’ve decided their real mission is to lecture customers about how they think society should function. News flash: people don’t carry cash anymore. Going on the radio pushing your agenda isn't helping either. Your refusing to take card payments isn’t “principled,” it’s lazy, inconvenient, and frankly suspicious. Why you are reluctant to have customers pay directly into an account via card payments reeks of a setup that benefits the owner far more than the customer. A café’s job is to serve food and make things easy for customers—not to create unnecessary obstacles or force people to support some fringe ideology. I won’t be back. If you expect a modern, honest, customer-focused establishment you wont find it here.
