Tamarind Indian Takeaway in West Dorset

This is the first place in Dorset that has surpassed my expectations!! 10/10 for customer service & authenticity of the food! I have spent much of my life in India, & if you want real Indian food, with authentic flavour & spices, this is the place to come. Will definitely return!

The food is really outstanding. Each mouthful was delicious, and the presentation just blew us away. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel right at home.

Last week, I went to West Bay Sea Beach for vacation. After searching online for a restaurant, I came across reviews for Tamarind Indian Takeaway & Restaurant and decided to give it a try. We have eaten in the restaurant before but due to unforseen circumstances, we decided to try a take-away. Firstly the delivery driver was exceptionally polite - thank you, Secondly, the food was delicious.

We had a fabulous takeaway, piping hot and loads of it. That was our second visit and won't be our last. We highly recommend this Indian takeaway.

I came holiday for a week, it’s one of the best Indian takeaways in bridport, the naan and tandoori chicken was absolutely delicious, I recommend this takeaway if you go bridport, the service and staff was also great 😋

The curry was amazing! Very tasty and full of flavour. We was on holiday, I wish they were closer to us at home. We'd order from them all the time!

Can't comment on the atmosphere as we collected a takeaway, but the food was fab and the price was really good. Quality of the chicken was excellent.

New to dining in. Food was delicious. BYO alcohol. Vegetarian options available. Recommend the Garlic Honey Lamb. Would definitely eat there again.

Just had an extremely good meal from Tamarind. Chicken balti, tandoori mixed grill, pilau rice and garlic naans. Delicious. Delivery driver was prompt and polite and the food was hot with generous portions. Will definitely be using Tamarind again.

Amazing food, my family got a takeaway from here last night. It was ready right on time and the food was excellent. I had a tikka jalfrezi, spicy but with so much flavour. The saga aloo was excellent as well. Itlooked like they had a lot of orders on when we went to pick it up so very popular in the area.

Dashed in for a late takeaway as I'd been decorating. So nice and helpful even letting me wash my hands. Lovely staff and really enjoyed the food.

By far our favourite takeaway in Bridport! Food is fantastic, good quality and a very reasonable price. Our favourite is set menu A, really great value for money. Efficient service and friendly staff.

The food that I ordered was lovely, the Chicken Tikka Tandoori and Pilau rice were amazing, same with the Naan bread, the salad was fresh and lots of it. They also sent the nicest delivery driver.

I am coming from London to see Bridport Sea Beach. Take some food from Tamarind. Staff are very Friendly. Food was so delicious. Specially Tamarind Tangy Chiken.Recommended .

We had never tried Tamarind before but, influenced by 5☆reviews, decided to try them out. I had Lamb Tikka Ceylon, my wife had the chef's mixed grill with Bombay Aloo and Palau rice. We were NOT disappointed. Fantastic meals. The Ceylon had good heat and meat was tender. My wife's mixture was all cooked to perfection. Big portions, very reasonably priced too. Thank you, Tamarind - you have another satisfied customer.

Absolutely rubbish food i ever had, it is not real indian food, the way we gave order and mention about spice, afterwards taste was so horrible, it was waste of time and money. If you can’t make Indian food, please don’t even use name. Honestly You should have to first taste Indian food.

Ordered a delivery, order was delivered within 30 minutes. Couldn’t be happier about that. Amazing food, the flavour was exactly how I like it. My personal favorite curry house in Bridport! Highly recommend the chicken madras.

Was looking forward to my meal, was disappointed, ordered the set meal a £25.00, item missing no mango chuckney, made the poppadoms very dry, last time the onion salad came with lettuce, this time onion only, l ordered onion barges, they were over cooker so dry could not eat them, that was a £4.90 throne in the bin.

I had a lovely early evening sit down meal at tamarind tonight. Staff were so welcoming and superb friendly service. The food was prepared pipping hot with plenty full helpings. What a truly great dinning experience. I would highly recommend sitting down at the restaurant and enjoying a cosy unhurried dinning experience. I will be back. My son Robert loved it as well… thank you.

Wow, we had a fantastic meal deal for two. Couldn’t fault the entire meal. It was hot and the chicken obviously freshly prepared. Would definitely recommend.

We visit Bridport on holiday once a year. A takeaway curry is always on the family list of meals. We tried the Tamarind for the first time this year. The food was excellent, we had 4 different curry's all with excellent flavour and plenty of meat not just sauce! I would highly recommend it!

Food was very good!! Just be mindful, Starter of ‘Onion Bhaji’ didn’t come with salad and raita sauce as perhaps like us, you’d expect to be the norm 🤷‍♀️. Other than that, excellent food!! Enjoyed very much 👍🏻

I ordered set meal, it came on time, was hot, plenty of food, and was delicious, plenty for two people. Will be ordering again, being local free delivery.

It was OK but not really any better than that. 2 very different curries tasted much the same. One was asked for Madras hot but was actually quite mild. Cucumber Raita was just bizarre, large bits of cucumber sat on top of plain yoghurt that had previously been frozen. I'll probably not be back.

I have ordered from this takeaway several times, and not once have I regretted it. Every single time the food arrives warm, and the food taste amazing! I would definitely recommend this place!

We were recommended the Tamarid by a family member! The Tamarind did not disappoint. It was absolutely fantastic! Definitely the best Indian locally, In fact it is the best Indian we have ever had! And we have had a few to say the least! We had 1 chicken tikka with garlic rice, 3 kormas with garlic rice and egg fried rice, mixed platter, garlic Naan and a cheese and onion Naan. Vegtable samosas and onion bhajee! Every single one of us loved it! I don't normally leave reviews, however, The food was just stunning, pipping hot and delivered to our door! The price must also be mentioned! When I was told the price, I put the phone down and really thought maybe they had misunderstood my order but that was not the case! It was all there. Thank you Tamarind! It is great to have such a brilliant takeaway locally, absolutely delicious! we will see you again soon.

Great find when we were staying in the area on holiday. The food was really tasty with extensive menu. We had a couple of lovely takeaways during our hols, the staff were friendly and helpful. Handy to be able to order online.

Visiting Bridport and was very impressed with a Lovely takeaway.

Food was really great, even down to the garlic naan! I asked if they could add paneer to a vegetable dish and it was no problem, and tasted fantastic. I’m surprised they don’t offer paneer by default, it went so perfectly with it. Little hiccup with the driver not having enough change but restaurant made it hassle free by letting us have the food and taking payment via the phone later. Very trusting :)

My friend & me stumbled in to Tamarind by accident after a beautiful walk along the coast. They even opened a little early for us. The service was soo friendly and kind, the food fresh, super tasty and well priced. A wonderful place to have discovered- absolutely recommended! Thank you Tamarind

Great Indian meal and reasonable prices too. Was able to park right outside and walk in to place the order which was ready in about 20 minutes. The staff were very helpful and polite. Would happily recommend this takeaway to anyone looking for a tasty Indian meal.

Loved the food here, was hoping for something that tasted truly Indian. I was not disappointed. My own Indian friends found it very authentic as well. Overall, very good service, nice workers and especially nice food 👌

Good starters, but mains were disappointing, not very tasty compared to same dishes elsewhere. Also what’s the point of giving one popadom between two people, I know they are free but it doesn’t cost much to at least give one each.

I came here on holiday again for the summer with my family and we ate from this restaraunt. I had the chicken tikka and chips, this tasted so good! so fresh and the seasoning was great. This is my second time ordering from here and my mouth is just watering writing this review! next time i want to try the tandoori chicken, sheesh kebab and special mixed chat with the chicken aloo paneer. FYI- the staff are extremely friendly and they just want to be as helpful as they can to their customers :) Looking forward to the next visit!

We had a takeaway from tamarind India takeaway for dinner, it’s really delicious and the quantity was very rich as well! After very long time we tried some authentic Indian curry that’s really tasty and enjoyable. We will go back there again just bcoz of the curry

I did try to find an email address, and to post a review on the website... no good! I had an excellent meal delivered last night and wanted to say something about it. It was only after I had finished the meal and about to throw the carriers bags away when I noticed a complementary bag of chopped onions and a plastic container of raita hiding between the paper and plastic bags. Just thought I would mention this, and perhaps it could be more prominently placed? No waste - I made another meal tonight to add it to :-)

I went to visit Bridport on holiday. The first time I ordered food at this restaurant, the curry and tandoori of that day were very good. Their service packing and hot food fascinated me. All in all, the restaurant is to be commended.🖤🙂

We used the tamarind for delivery service on a Friday evening and the service was impeccable. We love our in the sticks and it was so nice that at least one place delivered. The food was insanely delicious and good value for money. Prices weren’t too high and the delivery time was no longer than an hour after ordering. HIGHLY recommend.

Accepted my order and my money and then decided to text me saying “oh sorry you’re too far we’ve decided to cancel your order” …..stop being lazy and don’t accept orders in the first place if you can’t be bothered to deliver it…just lost a customer, do better.

The best lamb vindaloo i have had in nearly 40 years, perfect, tasty sauce, and the lamb fell apart on the first bite. I have been reviewing curry take aways and restaurants for many years, and can honestly say,I wish i lived in Bridport, well done to the chef. Can't wait to return next year.
