We always take our Granddaughters here because the gluten free fish and chips is excellent and safe for them. So we ordered 3 fish and chips and a veggie burger. The quality of the veggie burger surprised me, it was absolutely delicious. I’m not a vegetarian I just like a change. We drank Coke Zero, a pint of Tarka Lager brewed by Otter and a Elderflower Soda. We all enjoyed our food after a trip to the funfare. The Rise is a busy well run establishment in a great location. I always feel like the dining area needs a good deep clean.

Lovely spot, amazing calamari and other than the bartender and front of house the staff made the experience very enjoyable. However unfortunately after ordering a mojito( tasted like diluted soda and lime, no rum, and old bits of brown mint). When I went to ask about the drink the woman at front of house laughed at me along with the bartender and were telling me how ‘they know how to do their job’. I’ve been working bars my whole life so was overly polite and to be ridiculed after paying £11.50 for the worst mojito I’ve ever payed for, I really didn’t appreciate. the girl on the bar just continued to laugh and made it a very uncomfortable and bad experience. But again the chefs, floor staff and food was DIVINE! x

This was fantastic! My family all agreed the food was super! I had the Japanese Wholebowl... and I have to say it was amazing. In many restaurants, salads are a quick thrown together dish, but at Rise, they put effort into making this dish, and it was very flavoursome! Thanks!

Previously a real fan, regularly stopping there for breakfast, but feel disappointed at being ripped off by the extras. £2.50 for a single sausage, hash brown or two rashers of overcooked streaky bacon is extreme, but £2 for half a medium sized tomato is immoral! Until this is addressed we won’t be returning

What an amazing place, we called on the off chance for lunch and it was absolutely lovely. A great menu choice, and kids menu. We enjoyed it so much we booked a table for dinner on evening. It was excellent again and a must if you are visiting West Bay.

Great location next to the river, excellent food, portion size okay and in fact the rib eye steak was so good had to go back the next night and was not disappointed. My wife was also impressed with her choices. Prices for drinks and food about average and the service quick and polite. They are dog friendly so no problems taking out poodle

This is a beautifully located restaurant. We have been in the past but today’s was the best ever. Fabulous menu with great choices. Wonderful tasty and well presented food. Spot on service. I highly recommend.

My wife and I went back to Rise after visiting on a number of occasions. Love the place overlooking the river, staff, weather and atmosphere great, Kerala chicken curry really tasty Korean chicken good but slightly over cooked. We will be back

Excellent food and great friendly service from everyone at Rise. We ate from the specials menu and everything was excellent. Chowder starter, monkfish main and a chocolate torte dessert enjoyed with some excellent wine

Really friendly and helpful staff, they couldn’t have done more to help us as our party included family and a pet with mobility issues. Lovely choice of local lagers & beers and all the food looked great. We had breakfast and it was amazing, really good choice and quality and all locally sourced. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to West Bay.

Great menu with something for everyone. Lots of vegan options. The food arrived quickly and was well presented. It was also fresh and tasted lovely. The location is also great with views over the river to the sea. Would have given it 5 stars but it was a little on the pricey side.

Oh my goodness! Best meal I’ve had in a VERY VERY long time! Maybe ever! The ribs, the curry, the steak, the wine and the best of all, the staff! Would thoroughly recommend!

We had a great lunch here, sitting by the window looking across the water. There was a good choice for vegetarians - I had the panko aubergines which were delicious

I can highly recommend Rise. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. We went for lunch. We shared an amazing dish of Gambas and sour bread for starters. The Gambas were cooked perfectly served in a green pesto and garlic butter. For our main dish we had the Fish pie and a roasted masala Cod steak with mushroom rice. Again both dishes were delicious. To drink we had white wine and a nought percent beer. Both priced reasonably. The front of house staff were all friendly and very helpful. Our waiter Milissa was very attentive. Overall, we had a lovely lunch and we certainly will return.

The atmosphere was lovely, the decor fitted in well with the area around the Restaurant. The food was gorgeous We both started off with the Indian Spring Rolls, the portion size was wonderful & they tasted beautiful, slightly spicy to warm your mouth but not enough to take your breath away. The vinegar based sauce was slightly sweet & complimented the rolls very well. Hubby had the fish pie (salmon, prawns, Haddock & cod), with a creamy mash & accompanied with green beans - he said it had lots of flavour - hence to say the plate was cleared. I had the Fish & Chips - the beer batter was light & gluten free, and complimented the local caught fish beautifully. The chips were crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside, with mashed peas (that may have been minted as there was a hint of something), but it was a lovely meal. We decided on the 3 scoops of Gelato - hubby 2x vanilla & 1x chocolate - I had 1 each of honeycomb, vanillla & salted caramel - made by a local producer ( who has a food outlet on the harbour side) - these were wonderful tasting & very creamy. It was lovely to see so many local producers supply the Restaurant. There were many vegan/vegetarian options on the menu.

Best food I have had in ages! I had a lentil salad which was delicious and my husband had fish and chips which was fantastic.

After a recommendation to visit Bridport, it was then suggested we go on to West Bay. What a lovely little place. I am a coeliac and finding gluten free fish and chips is always a challenge. I had researched beforehand and found Rise and their gluten free options were plentiful. The fish and chips were unbelievable (they also had a separate fryer). The staff were also delightful. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back if ever in the area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve been here before a few times in the summer months when we’ve sat near the window or outside and it’s wonderful. Today it was cold windy January day and it was equally cold inside! There was a wood burning stove in cost busy area with low tables but we’d decided on breakfast and were shown to the glassed area away from the warm stove. Here there was no heating, wooden floors and benches. The breakfast we chose was the Aussie. It was delicious with 2 perfectly poached eggs on homemade toast with a generous dollop of limey mashed avocado. The coffees weren’t hot enough and I felt I had to drink mine as soon as it arrived. My partner sent his back but received another equally as cool. What a shame. Food great, coffees and restaurant too cold to enjoy.

Bright & airy interior overlooking the water, cosy log fires, friendly & efficient staff, tasty food. Just what we needed for lunch on a cold but sunny January day. Particularly impressed with the vegan options - the vegan sharing platter actually enough for a meal, but I followed with panko fried aubergine with cauliflower truffle purée; my wife’s fish pie was also flavoursome & an excellent helping. Watched the gulls diving for food, and looking forward to returning wine the weather is warmer so we can do the same but sitting on the terrace.

We had dinner at the Rise. The setting by the Bay was attractive and the interior was comfortable and bright. The staff were pleasant and the food reasonable. We had fish pie and fish and chips. The price was a bit high for what we had but acceptable. Overall a fairly good experience.

Really nice restaurant, located in a lovely place. Staff friendly and quick service. The food is was nice, some dishes did seem overpriced but some more reasonable. Would come back here.

We arrived at Ipm without a booking. We would normally have booked but the week had been exceptionally busy and stressful. It was fully booked but we were offered the cosy lounge by a roaring fire and decided to havea Malbec to plan our return walk home to Bridport. The front of house manager did manage to find us a table and saved the day. The fish of the day meal was truly delicious sea bass with tarragon etc. We will remember to book next time as it is the best eatery in the West Bay Area ..with excellent location too.

We were given a drinks menu and told to take a seat by the log burner because we said we only wanted a drink. We were told someone would come and take our order. After 15 minutes of watching staff doing nothing and ignoring us we left. Avoid. Card only as well.

The venue is superb set over the water of the harbour at west bay. Perfect views and a lovely almost Asian infused decor. The food I is eclectic but very well cooked and all the food thAt came to our table was perfection. My gust band had prawn and salmon skewers to start I had Korean wings. Both excellently flavoured and B lovely to eat. The mains were also amazing I had the ribs and my husband had the curry. Both dishes were superb. The staff are on the ball constantly looking. You do not wait for a drink or anything. I would have eaten here everyday had I found it at the start of our holiday instead of the end. Thankyou for fitting us in and giving us a wonderful evening.

When I ordered my food I clearly stated I was allergic to cheese. When it arrived it clearly had cheese on it so I sent it back only to receive a second meal which I was assured was cheese free. When I bit into it I knew that wasn’t the case and had a mouthful of cheese To make that mistake twice is unforgivable. For me it means a night of feeling poorly- if I had a not allergy and they were that careless the results are unthinkable. Really poor experience

Fantastic food & service. We visited after waiting three days for a available table so we knew it would be good and It certainly didn’t disappoint. The most amazing fish chowder I have had since San Francisco.Shout out to our waiter who was knowledgable With regards to food and drinks.

Stopped for lunch. Walked across the little bridge and the smell coming from the restaurant was enough to entice us in. Ordered fish and chips and my god it was outstanding. Thin crispy batter, the freshest fish imaginable and petite pois as mushy peas!!!!Best fish and chips I have ever had, and believe me, I’ve always considered Yorkshire fish and chips were the best. Until yesterday.Only criticism was had to pay at till rather than at the table as per current requirements.

We were looking for a memorable meal on our last night in West bay...... and boy did we find it!! Fabulous service and great food, meant we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening......... but make sure you BOOK!!

We love this place. Food is delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. One of us had mussels which were exquisite and the other had vegan burger and fries which is the nicest vegan burger ever! Will definitely be returning and would recommend anyone visiting West Bay to try. We also had breakfast on another day - one meat eater and one vegan. Again, highly recommended.

Came for a family meal during our trip and was honestly amazed at the quality and taste of the food, although a couple pounds dearer than the usual it is worth every penny with a full range of tasteful and FRESH food. Service was spot on, quick efficient and friendly and the cocktails were great too although could do with more choice, only down side was uncomfortable bench could do with a few more cushions!! Would highly recommend and will return as soon as possible

A restaurant in a lovely spot at West Bay, good food too. The only thing letting this place down was the under engagement of the staff. Time was when you felt like a valued customer, can we bring that back? We waited over 45 minutes for food (on a table we only had for an hour and a half!) - we can see it was busy, but not every table was occupied...but just catching an eye for a drink order didn't happen. More staff training perhaps??

A haven in a seething pit of tourists on May bank holiday. Wonderful, friendly servers and delicious food which is served in massive portions. Lots of space and nice and cool inside. So lovely l; thank you very much 👍🏼

We booked and I suggest you do because every table of was filled, being cleaned or in the process of taking another customer; it's a very popular restaurant. The waiting-on staff, of which there were a lot, were attentive and professional. Do not go to this restaurant if you eat like a bird! The starter was like a small main course. My 8 Spicy Wings were a good size and delicious. My son's starter was a 'small' bowl mussels which was a main meal in itself and again delicious; the same is said of my wife's Teriyaki Salmon. My wife's fish and chips came with a climbing rope, or I should say it came with her two-fish and chips. My Longhorn Burger was real ground-beef and to die-for. We'll probably order two starters as a main course the next time we visit, and visit again we will.

Booked in advance on a Friday night because we had vouchers that was a present from Xmas.We were sat inside on table facing the river, very nice view and surroundings, very nice service.Oysters and mussels for starters.Pasta with crab and fish burger for mains.Both accompanied with skinny fries and sweet potato fries.Ice cream and fruity almond pie to end.Merlot wine.Everything was served quickly and well presented, observing social distancing and covid restrictions.I liked the specials board which was an addition to the main dinner menu. Also, the ambiance and location. The food quality was top class.I didn't like so much, lack of choice for meat dishes (3 chicken, only 1 steak) if you didn't opt for fish, vegetarian or burgers......they seem to be pushing many types of burgers that were very popular. Also, no fizzy rosé wine, but we could cope with those observations and easily navigate around it.All in all a very enjoyable evening, Rise definitely delivered on a lovely experience helped admirably by their lovely polite and friendly servers. We will be back...

Lovely setting , lovely staff , excellent food and superb food beautifully presented . Due to its location this restaurant could probably get way with so much less given the number of one off visits it must receive from tourists , but instead it goes all out. Great food well presented and I would highly recommend and will certainly return it in the area again

We went here for a lunch and it was superb. Brilliant attentive staff and excellent location with lovely view in the centre of everything. Our food was prepared freshly and was excellent. Very large portions. The restaurant was very clean as was the W.C. We will return next time we are here.

We have been waiting for Rise to reopen properly after the lockdown easing (eating on the chilly deck with patio heaters isn't the same!) to have a proper family meal out. We were a little nervous how the staff would cope and whether the menu would be as varied as before, but it was all fine on the night. The great thing about this place is how you can find something for everyone on the menu and they are happy to make changes to dishes to suit your requirements. The Dorset Longhorn burger is still amazing, and the fish of the day was a really fresh loin of cod. They still do Baboo icecreams and their breads come from their own bakery.It was so good to be back - can't wait to go again!

We booked up in advance, and were really excited to come back to Rise, however we were really disappointed with the customer service and decided not to stay.

Hi,We visited West Bat for a week in late April 2021, we are all around the harbour and can honestly say this was the pick of the restaurants. Fantastic food, great setting, brilliant staff and customer service. You may have to book in advance as they do fill up pretty quick. Keep up the good work guys and hope to visit again soon

Met up with family in West Bay after lockdown was eased on April 12th. We hadn’t booked anywhere for lunch and called here on the “off chance”. We were in luck. Someone had failed to turn up for their booking so we had their table. The welcome, the service and the food were all excellent. The grandchildren were well catered for and the waitress was kind enough to bring a bowl of water for the dogs, who were also welcomed. The weather was kind so we had a very enjoyable time here and will definitely go again.

We had a superb meal at Rise. We booked online and everything was confirmed very quickly and by email. On arrival we were seated right by the window overlooking the river, even on a rainy day the outlook was still very nice. Everything was fine in a Covid secure way, plenty of hand sanitiser etc. All of the staff that dealt with us were super polite and helpful. The food was very nice,I had the rather enormous fish and chips, not a meal for the smaller appetite!! But for me it was just right. The 2 fillets of fish were cooked very nicely and the whole meal was very pleasant. This is my second time at Rise and both visits have been very good indeed. When I next return to West Bay I will head here for sure.

My wife and I had a superb dinner tonight. Especially loved the seafood chowder. Pure comfort food!! Followed by crumble with hazelnut sorbet. A fantastic combination. We will return and soon!!!

We ate here whilst staying nearby midweek. The atmosphere was lovely. Service was quick and food was served piping hot! Food was great, big portions and tasty. Would recommend for a nice evening meal and I would go back again!

I was not convinced by the look of this place. Previously it appeared very upmarket but the new name and branding looked a bit cheap and nasty to me. Having said that, we liked the look of the menu and so we decided to give it a try and were so glad we did. The staff were friendly and took great care to follow safe procedures and the food was just delicious. I had the crab sandwich and my husband had a spicy chicken burger. Both came with really yummy fries and salad. We were both completely stuffed. The wine was lovely and they had an unusual low alcohol beer, which was a bonus. Don't be put off by the branding. Give this place a try!

Having tried several other eateries in West Bay - they were either closed or not particularly helpful. Walked over to The Rise on the off chance .... what a find! Lovely welcome, kind and helpful staff, warm log burner and comfy sofas - what more could you want?!Ordered a veggie burger and the salmon skewers - both of which were delicious!Would thoroughly recommend this place!

I had the best burger I think I have ever had at the Rise earlier this month! It was so good! Couldn’t recommend enough!

So pleased do find this on a grey, wet day. Friendly welcome and a menu to suit all our tastes. Fantastic veggie burger, and impressed with the array of salads. Would really recommend if you're after something a little different to a pub or restaurant and not quite your average cafe. Dog friendly too.

We booked an evening meal. The restaurant had a chilled boho vibe. Tables were socially distanced and the staff wore masks. Our meals were delicious - we opted for teriyaki salmon and the prawn curry. We rounded off the meal with a chocolate brownie dessert and a cocktail. The location is in the wonderful West Bay.

We loved Rise - the food, impeccable service from the waitress, the atmosphere, trendy decor and views across the harbour.We booked on line a few days in advance, I'm glad we did as it was busy for a Sunday evening. Everything we ate was simply delicious, and generous portions too. Stand out meals were the fish & chips, Keralan prawn curry & ice creams (from local gelato business Baboo).Its a little pricey but with this quality and such good service we did not mind paying the extra.

We booked before our holiday which was just as well. It was recommended and the food didn't disappoint. It was a bit pricey though. I guess you pay for the lovely riverside location. We arrived at sunset which made it extra special atmosphere for a bit.

Went in for dinner and was told we could sit outside for an hour and wait to eat at 8:30pm. Got to 8:30 and we’re seated inside and we’re given menus and told the kitchen was open until 9pm. However the waiter then said the kitchen will close and we can only have starters. Obviously after waiting an hour outside in the freezing cold we were not happy with this. Wow wow wow, such a wonderful spot. The view, the atmosphere, the service. That is without mentioning the food. The food was excellent. It’s also dog friendly as well. What more could you ask for? Get yourself in there is you are near by.

We was recommended rise as it is dog friendly, they are following COVID-19 rules to keep us safe, the food might be seen as expensive but you get what you pay for as they are generous on there plates, services was amazing and very friendly, would definitely visit again.

We had been to arise previously so glad to see it still there on our return visit to a Westbay. You need to book which isn’t a problem as you can booking via the web or by phone. Friendly team, nice food, lovely steak and crab mac ‘n’ cheese.

We spent a week on holiday in west bay. Our first visit to this beautiful place and on our first day were so lucky to discover Rise. It was so good we went back daily, to experience the super food, which was excellent value, great ambiance, friendly & welcoming staff.The menu has a good selection to choose from, and the staff were fantastic. It would appeal to couples or families, and I even noticed that we’ll behaved dogs were welcomed! The place has a buzzing vibe, helped along with some superb back ground music, and even though extremely busy (this place is not surprisingly popular), the service was faultless every time. From the moment you’re greeted at the door, It was so refreshing to get enthusiastic staff that actually seem happy to be there. Abi, who we got to know as she was our waitress on a couple of occasions, was especially delightful and made every effort to ensure we were looked after. I’m not one to normally review places, but this one deserves a mention. An absolute must if you’re in West Bay. We’re very much looking forward to returning!

Great healthy choices, great food and a super location. Great service as well. We asked a local to recommend a place to eat, he said the Rise, well done him!

If you are in the area and want a drink or a meal in a really good covid venue where you can feel normal visit Rise. We were in West Bay felt like a drink and there is plenty of choice. Rise was a great choice. We sat outside in October how? Glass screening to protect from the wind. A parasol to protect from the rain and a heater to protect you from the cold. Sorted. We spent a really pleasant hour almost feeling normal .Highly recommended and the pint of IPA was excellent as was the service from a really delightfully young lady. We were in 5pm on Tuesday .

4 of us had dinner here the other day.Great vegan options.The nachos were superb. Best vegan nachos ever.Plant based burger was also huge - not sure about the beansprouts though - but didn’t spoil it.Also have vegan ice cream.Thai yellow curry was also great.Highly recommended.

I made two visits to Rise during a recent stay in West Bay - one good, one poor. The good outweighed the poor, hence 4/5.First visit was with my wife and daughter for an early lunch. We were greeted and seated very promptly and covid precautions were evident and adhered to. Staff were lovely and the food was good. I enjoyed my chowder - a starter sized portion was plenty for lunch - my daughter had a trio of salads which was very generous. My wife had some sort of fish, can't remember what but she enjoyed it. All good. Five stars for that visit.A few days later I went for a coastal walk on my own and fancied a pint on the terrace when I got back to West Bay. The guy on reception said fine. Take a seat and someone will take your order. I took a seat and nobody came. I waited some more and nobody came. I got up and walked into the restaurant and nobody noticed. Nobody noticed when I walked out the door. Rise gets zero stars for this visit.I went over the road to The George and was promptly and courteously served with a lovely cold pint of cider.

Food looked excellent but we had booked at another place for food but the beer selection was decent and it was a really nice pint. Nice friendly staff, nothing rushed, good social distancing when inside, enjoyed my few hours there having one or two beers.

Having been a visitor to West Bay for several years, this is a welcome addition to the area, exactly what was needed. Really lovely decor, comfortable, contemporary, lovely staff and quick service. Great menu with seafood and Asian inspired dishes. The Thai curry and tempura fish burger were both excellent. The place was packed so obviously doing well. And it’s dog friendly. Will recommend to friends and return soon.

Delicious breakfast menu with a varied selection. I had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, kale & toast - extra yummy. My companion had poached eggs, bacon & toast.

Deep filled crab sandwich, mussels and calamari- just delicious with a fantastic view to boot. Good set up for the current restrictions too. Highly recommended.

Well placed just by the harbour stopped in for lunch .Friendly greeting ,would recommend the Fish&chips .Just make sure you have an appetite has the portions are on the large side

Well placed in between the harbour and the pier. it has a good range of food and drinks but can be very very busy on public holidays and at weekends.

Have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it has never disappointed! Fantastic food and a great atmosphere, perfect for every occasion. Friendly and attentive staff more than happy to help you. We'll be back 😊 x

The food here was second to none all fresh and very well presented, however 16 pound for a burger and chips is a bit excessive. I understand you pay for the freshness etc but at the end of the day it's still burger and chips

We have visited this place on several occasions for dinner and for drinks, excellent food and service. And the bonus of a lovely view.

We had discovered this restaurant on an previously trip to Dorset and enjoyed its location of an island accessed by a footbridge, so we booked again for our recent trip to East Devon. Once again we had an excellant lunch and enjoyed the views from the dining room across the river.

Visited West Bay for the day and were so impressed with the excellent service and refreshments at Rise that we booked a table for dinner for 13:00 after enjoying a latte at 10:00. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to sit outside to enjoy our lunch despite being busy. The food was delicious. The interior of Rise is pleasant and comfortable and the gardens outside offer superb views of West Bay. Can not fault this venue. Thank you Rise staff.

Very poor food having had a sharing platter.We had 5 chicken wings and 3 ribs, please tell the staff you cannot share odd numbers.The food was very badly cooked as well..... Lets be Frank and honest, ribs shouldn't be like rubberPlease understand £25 for poor food is criminal.In finishing my wife's shandy tasted of cider and my lager was very suspect. Would I go again, not a chance.

We only had a couple of drinks but the menu looked so interesting. We sat outside and the Covid Safety was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient.. It is also dog friendly...We will definitely eat there on our next holiday.

Firstly this is the second time we’ve visited in 3 weeks. Both times were pretty much identical. Excellent Covid precautions with every staff member wearing masks. We had both the Japanese ribs and the Korean wings ( which were more like small thighs). Both were delicious, plentiful and tasty. The mains were also extremely good. Seafood chowder was a little overcooked but nevertheless tasty, the fish of the day was turbot with heirloom tomato salad. The fish was perfectly cooked and great value at £17. The salmon teriyaki was also really good with a nice side of picked veg and seaweed and sticky rice. Nice range of local beers and ciders on tap but no wine menus to look at as they for Covid reasons print one off menus and they’d ran out. So the service. All the guys in there are young but enthusiastic. However on BOTH occasions we weren’t offered the specials board? The first time I happened to ask as our order was taken and the second I mentioned it again as the orders were about to be done. Why? The strange ting was the specials had some really nice things on and in fact all four or us had them. The first time the people opposite were paying their bill and were quite miffed to see a specials board in our table. So they weren’t offered it either. Can anyone at the restaurant respond as to why this happened altogether 3 times and probably more? Real shame as overall it’s a lovely place to eat.

This place is very new to West Bay, it’s very different to every other place .It’s the best place for sitting outside with a drink or food, the setting is beside the water where you hire the rowing boats. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food looked lovely when we visited, we were there for drinks, the choice of drinks is endless.

I’ve been here several times now. Each trip to West Bay is always made even more lovely by the excellent food and welcoming staff at Rise. The food is fantastic, really well priced, and extremely quick service. There is no other place to go in West Bay, the food cannot be beat.

Really great evening - felt very Covid secure - all the waiting staff were wearing masks, lots of space between tables. We sat outside right by the river watching the sunset. The young waiting staff were friendly and professional, the food and drink was great - great gluten free options too. So good we came back the following evening as well.

We were greeted at the doir by a very nice gentleman who took our details. Qe were shown to an outdoor table as pre-booking was required for indoor seating. The meal itself was outstanding. All food was cooked to perfection and the waiters were very attentive.

Staff were so friendly, efficient and attentive. They swiftly accommodated my 25 year old daughter who faces issues due to a learning differenceVegan main was interesting and flavours and presentation had been thought about, not the usual boring burger.Specials menu was hard to choose from, so many to delight! Haddock and mussel chowder was hearty and delicate at the same time.had to order more house made sourdough as it was great. Felt like a real treat to eat out, right next to the bay. We will return. Have wanted to try Rise for a while, and finally got the chance. Staff were friendly and service quick. Wednesday's offer a burger and drink deal for £12 all in, which is good value. Went with the fish burger - very nicely done with well selected additions. Fries were crisp with just the right amount of salt, and as for the setting, could not fault it. Look forward to going again.

Excellent choice!! Had coffee and cake in the morning and loved the place so much that we have just returned for a late lunch!! Great crab sandwich and nachos!! And a decent glass for the gin!!!!

Excellent friendly service from all the staff. Food was absolutely delicious, teriyaki salmon was absolutely top notch. Only wish we could have eaten here more than once in our trip. If you're in the area do make sure to stop by here for a meal but you should make sure you book, as it was clearly a very popular spot

My partner and I came in for lunch because we fancied fish and chips, but as she's a wheelchair user, we always have to make sure there's an accessible toilet. The welcoming lady manager was very apologetic that Rise didn't currently have one (the premises were inherited from a previous owner I gather) but she was happy for us to check their suitability as my partner is not wheelchair-bound so can walk short distances. The manager very kindly offered - and later did so - to help my partner access the ladies' toilet and ensure no-one else entered in case she couldn't shut the door properly. A very thoughtful touch demonstrating customer care and disability awareness.Fish and chips - and the baked cod with salad & new potatoes - which we shared between us was very tasty, and we had a nice table inside the door but looking out across the harbour.

I ate here today and was recommended by my son to have the fish and chips. When it arrived it was huge, two fillets with chips, tartar sauce and crushed peas. This was certainly one of the best fish and chips I've had in an extremely long time. The fish was nicely cooked and was a pleasure to eat, although I did struggle to finish, but was too good to leave. We were seated outside which was great as it was a nice sunny afternoon. The setting is superb, and they have socially distanced the seating which is also nice to see. A lovely place to eat in a great setting, when I'm next in West Bay I will return for sure. My only observation is when seated outside there were quite a few wasps. I know this is somewhat beyond the control of the restaurant, but they're aware as they had a honey trap outside. My only wish was that there were a handful more of them, more the merrier really. Luckily we were only pestered by the wasps after we'd finished eating, but some other diners weren't so lucky. Overall very happy indeed.

Had a great lunch here. Salmon was very good. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, did not feel rushed. Staff helpful and friendly.

My wife and really enjoyed our anniversary meal at Rise, after it was recommended by our B&B hosts. The restaurant was very busy, serving meals inside and outside, luckily we were inside with a view over the water. My wife had fish and chips and I had Thai yellow chicken curry, great spicy taste, both were outstanding. We tried to book later for another night but fully booked and I can really understand why, our experience said this is an outstanding restaurant and next time we are in West Bay we will book in advance.Thanks for great evening

We visited whilst on holiday as part of the eat out to help out scheme. This place is amazing. 2 of our family are gluten free due to allergies and the menu on offer for gf is just brilliant. The chef and manager both have the opinion that gluten free shouldn't be taste free and that most dishes should be made with a gluten free alternative- how refreshing to have choices for all 3 courses that weren't chicken breasts, jacket potatoes or brownies! The food was delicious, service excellent and location lovely- just a shame they were so busy and we couldn't get a table to go back again before we left. All 5 of our family thoroughly enjoyed their meals, a real gem of a place.

We visited Rise for dinner during our holiday to West Bay. The place itself has a wonderful ambience and is in a perfect setting. We went with my 20 month old daughter and had a big table and plenty of space. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing, all 5 of us were so pleased and couldn’t fault a thing. The highlights were the Korean wings and the oysters! We already want to come back next year. Thanks so much.

From the minute you enter the restaurant to the minute you leave, everything is great, the service is friendly but not intrusive, the food is just superb and the ambience is second to none. You must try it, but be prepared to book or wait for a table, this is one busy place!

We walked in off the street during a very busy day in the summer holidays. We sat in a really Comfortable Area overlooking the river and had cocktails while we waited 40 minutes or so for a table. The lady at the front of house was really friendly and honest about about busy they were. Service was a little slow but I think it had been an unexpectedly busy Tuesday. We sat outside and had a lovely sharing platter, nachos and two children’s meals. Would definitely go back.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful location and views. Went in mid afternoon on the off chance for a coffee. Ended up ordering a snack of truffle chips and the salt and pepper squid rings to share. Would recommend both. The young lad who served us was friendly and the food and drink arrived swiftly. Would definitely go back and try more from the menu.

We visited Rise on the Bank Holiday weekend and we were so glad we did. We had a party of 7 of all ages and all with different taste pallets. We were all more than satisfied with our food, some mentions were Oysters, Salmon skewers, Chicken Burgers and the local catch of the day. All the food was made to a very high standard. We could tell the food was made from fresh quality ingredients too. Our waiter for the evening was Christian (Kit), he was extremely cheerful and always came over to fill our empty glasses. Nothing was too much trouble and it really made our last day at West Bay the icing on the cake. Not only would we re-visit Rise, we also recommend it too.
