The best hunters chicken ever!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. There were 21 of us all our food was served hot and at the same time. Definitely be returning

Visited 3 times during our 2 week stay at East Fleet Farm campsite. we cannot fault the food at all. Absolutely gorgeous. Menu is very well presented and caters for all tastes. Lots of different beers and ciders on tap. Staff are very welcoming and polite. Would highly recommend!!!

Very good value for a Sunday lunch, quite crowded. Whether that's good or bad depends on you point of view. It certainly has very friendly licensees, and it seems less crowded due to them spreading the carvery opening hours. Today, nice Friday night, very cosy, friendly and good to meet old friends. Lots of locals and a few visitors, very convivial.

Wife and I stopped for Saturday dinner very welcoming and friendly staff. Wife had Bubble and squeak with Haddock from the specials board and I had steak and Tanglefoot pie. The food came out and was piping hot. Cut into the pie and was filled to the top with delicious steak and gravy lovely short crust pastry with had not gone soggy like most pies do. Beautiful creamy mash and lashings of gravy. Haddock was done perfectly as was the egg on top. Would fully recommend. Beautiful tasty food.

It's fine, just fine. On the up side, the server we had was very friendly and quick to grab our drinks. A very tidy and friendly place to be in, and unlike a lot of pubs it understands the appropriate volume to have music where you can hear it but still able to have a conversation. On the other hand my food was rather bland. £23 for an 8oz steak that tasted as if it had no seasoning, and chips with little flavour is quite disappointing. Sadly the fudge cake was also just fine. Maybe I just had bad luck when it came to my order, but it was nothing special.

Eaten here twice, food excellent, staff polite, welcoming and attentive. Food served hot and in good time and full of flavour, don't let the tired furnishings put you off. Carvery on Sunday excellent value also.

Went the Marquis of Granby after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, my wife and her mother had a Sunday roast from the carvery and both were very impressed . I myself had the ploughman’s , which I have to say , was probably the best I’ve eaten in many a year. The addition of the soup , is very much a bonus. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the chef was even happy to cook my wife’s beef a bit more as she spent like it to pink. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this place and I assure you , you will not leave disappointed. We will be back 👍 I would highly recommend

Following our visit to Weymouth..on our way home, decided to call into a local pub for a carvery. There was 4 of us, including one child (who is autistic) We were welcomed and accommodated immediately. 2 of us wanted a carvery and 1 adult chose from the menu a Homity pie and the child had chicken Gourjon, and swapped the chips for mash potato. As the carvery was on the servery, staff informed us when the other menu choices were being plated up, so we could eat together at the same time. Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere. Food was lovely! And very good value too. Even with our autistic child, who decided to play with his toys won (from the 2p coin drop machines in Weymouth) and play with his food, we weren't made to feel unwelcome. Found the whole experience relaxing..so thankyou 🙏 If we are in the area, we will visit again. Highly recommend!

We arrived around 5.30pm & shown to a table, the staff were attentive & friendly. There was plenty to choose from on the menu, initial thoughts were that the menu looked expensive but the food was amazing and worth every penny! We will definitely be visiting again.

Great food and a good selection available. Service was good but a little wait to be served between courses even though not busy however staff were helpful and polite.

Thank you to all the staff for a lovely lunch on Christmas Day. We were a party of 8, including 1 vegetarian. The meals all came out hot and were plentiful! We weren’t rushed and had plenty of time between courses.

So well looked after by all staff and food is great value for money.

I have popped in here a few times for an after work drink... I cannot fault the bar staff... I cannot fault the venue It has always been quiet when I/we have visited. The menu looks good, but I have not eaten here It's a great place to go for a quiet after work drink... Good selection of drinks, friendly staff... and there is always a table free ! 👍

Don’t judge a book by its cover! We had the Sunday carvery it was very nice, could not fault it! Food was as tasty and hot. Young staff members very polite and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. Easy to book online. Don’t be put off by the outside. Really nice restaurant and staff, very welcoming. Would recommend!

Arrived to be greeted by very attentive staff . Was here for the Sunday Carvery at 12.30 . The beef was very tender as was the pork . Unfortunately downside was the roast potatoes which tasted like they had been cooked left to go cold and then reheated . Not crispy at all . Choice of veg good although the red cabbage was cold as was the Yorkshire pudding which again had been cooked ages before serving . Did mention to staff and was told the chef would be informed . Not the worst meal but unfortunately won’t be returning as roast potatoes are an essential part of a Sunday Roast which for the princely sum of £15.25 was so disappointing . Great cup of coffee afterwards though .

Don't be put off by the exterior of this gem. It may look tired on the outside and a bit dated on the inside but the food and service was top notch. The toffee cheesecake was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. We're here on holiday but hoping to find time to call in again for a decent meal before we go home. Lovely, friendly staff. Would highly recommend this family friendly restaurant.

We went there for a family buffet, the food and refreshments were really good, and the service was great. Drinks were reasonable, with a good selection.

Our nephew has relocated to Weymouth and I read reviews of pub & places to eat near him. This was suggested and we were pleasantly surprise. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful, it was early evening and they were happy to fit us in. The food was hot, well presented and reasonably priced. The beer list was extensive and while this was an end of the week pub supper, it would certainly make me consider booking a return visit for a more leisurely meal. The building itself is quite unusual but distinctive and there is plenty of parking.

I had my retirement evening here and it was lovely, the staff were amazing, very young girls serving but so professional, food was great highly recommend

Saw a good Google review and decided to try for myself whilst visiting the area. Friendly staff serving great food and drink.

Having eaten here a number of times, we were very disappointed on this occasion. Although the carvery was very acceptable it was overpriced compared to others in the town. The fish and chips, however, were abysmal. The fish was thoroughly overcooked to the point where the fish was dry, it was also cooked in dirty oil which was particularly unpleasant and the grey skin on the fish had not been removed. No-one came to the table until we had finished, when the waitress asked if everything was okay, as she cleared the plates including half of the fish and chips, and was told that it was overcooked and unpleasant but it went no further. We paid up and left but will not be rushing back.

Wow what a pub friendly staff fantastic food. My partner had the Sunday carvery and I had the Lamb mint kofte and was absolutely stunning. The desserts are huge and selection of drinks are great. If you are in Weymouth or surrounding areas visit this pub you won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommend the Sunday Roast. Every part of the meal was beautifully executed. Fluffy, crispy herby potatoes that melt in your mouth, juicy meats and an assortment of buttery veg. A “hidden” gem to anyone but the locals.

The food is OK but nothing special. I found the portions a little inconsistent, pub classics like the chicken burger and macaroni cheese were generous. My tortellini not so much. Compared to the other venues we ate at during our week in Weymouth, this was the most expensive. Service was fine.

We visited here on a long weekend break with family & friends. We were looking for somewhere to eat on the off chance and stumbled across this pub/ eatery. We had our dogs with us so we were very glad to see they welcomed well behaved dogs. We were welcomed by the staff and severed promptly, throughout our visit the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was really good quality and homemade and very tasty, I thought the price was very reasonable too, we will definitely visit again

We came across this pub by chance. Staff were very friendly but busy. Took awhile to get menus and then we had a 45 min wait for food. We appreciated the fact it's cooked to order but we were not expecting such a long wait. Food was brought out for the entire table so no one was left waiting. The food was fairly expensive and not alot of trimmings salad/onion rings with the burger for the money paid. The steak and ale pie went down well as did the chicken and leek pie again small quantities of vegetables as the accompaniments. Not sure we would go there again. Not knowing the local eateries it was a bit of a chance booking. Seemed plenty of locals enjoying a drink on a Friday evening. Plenty of on site parking which is a bonus.

Enjoyed a Sunday Carvery at the Marquis of Granby today - glad we booked a table as it was very popular when we arrived at 2pm (carvery is served 12-8) 3 meats available - beef, pork and gammon plus a delicious parsnip and cranberry loaf which I enjoyed. Good choice of vegetables - really enjoyed the braised red cabbage and the broccoli and cauliflower cheese. Lots of choice on the dessert menu - we settled on the Eton mess and the salted caramel cheesecake - both delicious but the cheesecake got my favourite vote Service was friendly and efficient.

The customer service was excellent and the food was really tasty, shame there was only beef or pork for the carvery, but it was delicious. Good vegetarian option too as a carvery. The other really good thing about this place is that it is dog friendly, which is hard to find when you're on holiday. The only thing to spoil it was the atmosphere was spoilt by some rude patrons, at the bar and another table, these shiuld have been dealt with.

We visited for a family birthday meal while on holiday to Weymouth and everything was really good. Really friendly service, food was fantastic (would highly recommend the whitebait!) and very reasonably priced! We will definitely be back once we are back in the area!

I went for lunch, the food was ok, not fantastic and not awful, so overpriced in my opinion, compared to similar venues and settings in Weymouth. I wouldn’t return unfortunately

Called around 5pm The staff were very busy with awake but still payed attention to other customers we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table being on a diet I was able to change my meal to suit me with out any fuss and it was lovely you must be proud of your staff (well done)

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the carvery poor choice of vegetables the roast potatoes were more like mush the parsnips looked like they had been there for hours the beef wouldn't cut the normal menu for a Sunday was also poor sorry to say won't be going back

As a family of five we ate here Thursday 29th June, we would just like to give this place a massive thumbs up. As professional chefs oursleves the food here really is top notch. Everything that the kitchen produced was fresh, well presented, well cooked, well seasoned, some actual care went into the food that came out. Well done Chef's! Chardonnay who served us was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble we were well looked after, extremely professional 5*..👍 Granted it doesn't have the views etc, (don't let that put you off) but it is clean, cosy, and plenty of room inside. This was the last night of our holiday and after trying many eateries in the area (which were frankly quite poor) this place was fab. Very reasonably priced too. We really enjoyed coming here for the first time, and will definitely return! The staff were all lovely ,great service and food. We took elderly mother who has a tiny appetite and only wanted prawn cocktail, so we asked if she could have a few more prawns and they willingly obliged without any fuss. I had scampi and chips which was lovely, and my husband had a cheese ploughman’s which was huge and had so many things on it! Definitely recommend this lovely pub!

First time we went after the new owners took over it was not good, but decided to go again hoping the settling period was over. Wrong the food was not good, dog barking. The service was good but that’s all. Should ask the previous owners to come back and show them how to run a successful restaurant. Winter time will be the judge.

Just returned from fantastic meal at The Marquis of Granby, booked online this morning for 7 people 4 Adults and 3 children. Lovely welcome, very friendly staff. Lovely carvery lots of food all fresh couldn’t ask for more. We highly recommend, will definitely book other time. Thank you

New owners apparently since last year and glad to see they still have good menus plus a specials board. We visited late evening on a Monday night and pub was rather quiet but found staff very welcoming. Had a couple of good main meals selected from the comprehensive menu. The specials board was very enticing, especially the duck breast. We did also have a dessert, both having the sticky toffee pudding, a generous portion.
