Had great difficulty in contacting this establishment as no one seems to answer the phone but after trying on many occasions managed to speak to an employee so don’t give up!!! On arrival wasn’t impressed with greeting as the bartender disappear for at least 10 minutes to confirm our booking. The food was very good , reasonably priced and nicely presented on hot plates and the serving staff very pleasant. Pity about first impression.

Lovely abeyance delightful staff as ever and service great. But food average and expensive. My Linguine was basic little seafood and the prawns look a bit tired and no sauce. Very disappointed. And as for my crab starter a thick butter topping with a minuscule amount of crab meat underneath.

We've driven past this place for the past 7 years since we've been coming down to Weymouth, but only just popped in today as we were in desperate need for a carvery! Loved it here. We had Sunday roast. Carvery. Delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection. And the veg were fresh. Just a little thing was that as we went later owing to tables not available earlier, the roast potatoes were dry and hard. The cauliflower cheese had gone watery. Desert choice was good. We returned and I had shepherds pie which was accompanied by chips and peas. The other meal was a steak again cooked to perfection. The staff were very welcoming and efficient and helpful. Very nice pub restaurant. Will return definitely

Dissapointing carvery, first visit since take over. We called to add 2 extra placements to arrive and told no one knew about it? They did accomodate thank goodness. Parsnips hard and bland, roast potatoes dry and appeared to be a new potato crisped off, not a patch on the crispy fuffly roasties we always enjoy here. Opted for strawberry eton mess for dessert, which was plentiful but consisted of only cream and merangue apart from one strawberry sat on the edge of the glass.... had much better carvaries here.

Orderd a ploughman's lunch after reading a review by someone who had said it was the best ever. It was the worst ever for me.The plate was mainly full of salad leaves tomatoes and carrot sticks. There was a handful of crisps a tiny portion of poor quality chutney 2 very small rolls and a tinyportion of cheese.Very poor. A ploughman's as far as I am concerned should have a generous selection of various cheese, Branston pickle and crusty bread or rolls with butter not a plateful of salad. Its £15 and if you have had a ploughman's before do not order it at this pub.

Table of 4 for Sunday Carvery. The pub was reasonably busy and the food was good when we got it. The service can only be described as appalling. After being shown to our table and waiting nearly 20 mins we had to catch the eye of a waitress to take our food order. At the time there were three of them stood talking. After we had eaten once more after about 25-30 mins we had to approach the bar to ask for our table to be cleared and for the dessert menu. It arrived fairly swiftly but given the attitude of the staff we declined, paid our bill and left. The staff really could not have cared less. In conclusioj a poor dining experience.

It's fine, just fine. On the up side, the server we had was very friendly and quick to grab our drinks. A very tidy and friendly place to be in, and unlike a lot of pubs it understands the appropriate volume to have music where you can hear it but still able to have a conversation. On the other hand my food was rather bland. £23 for an 8oz steak that tasted as if it had no seasoning, and chips with little flavour is quite disappointing. Sadly the fudge cake was also just fine. Maybe I just had bad luck when it came to my order, but it was nothing special.

Following our visit to Weymouth..on our way home, decided to call into a local pub for a carvery. There was 4 of us, including one child (who is autistic) We were welcomed and accommodated immediately. 2 of us wanted a carvery and 1 adult chose from the menu a Homity pie and the child had chicken Gourjon, and swapped the chips for mash potato. As the carvery was on the servery, staff informed us when the other menu choices were being plated up, so we could eat together at the same time. Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere. Food was lovely! And very good value too. Even with our autistic child, who decided to play with his toys won (from the 2p coin drop machines in Weymouth) and play with his food, we weren't made to feel unwelcome. Arrived to be greeted by very attentive staff . Was here for the Sunday Carvery at 12.30 . The beef was very tender as was the pork . Unfortunately downside was the roast potatoes which tasted like they had been cooked left to go cold and then reheated . Not crispy at all . Choice of veg good although the red cabbage was cold as was the Yorkshire pudding which again had been cooked ages before serving . Did mention to staff and was told the chef would be informed . Not the worst meal but unfortunately won’t be returning as roast potatoes are an essential part of a Sunday Roast which for the princely sum of £15.25 was so disappointing . Having eaten here a number of times, we were very disappointed on this occasion. Although the carvery was very acceptable it was overpriced compared to others in the town. The fish and chips, however, were abysmal. The fish was thoroughly overcooked to the point where the fish was dry, it was also cooked in dirty oil which was particularly unpleasant and the grey skin on the fish had not been removed. No-one came to the table until we had finished, when the waitress asked if everything was okay, as she cleared the plates including half of the fish and chips, and was told that it was overcooked and unpleasant but it went no further. We paid up and left but will not be rushing back.
