The best restaurants serving British food in West Devon South West

This is a gem of a find. Beyond superb knowledge of the ciders they make. If you don't ask for the story of Lady Mary you are missing a great experience. We went on christmas eve and loved every minute of our tasting session. But by far the best thing? Getting to give Quincy tummy rubs whilst he leant against you loving every second.

We had our food delivered, using the just eat app. We had to wait 40 minutes past delivery time, but we got constant updates from the pub, turns out the van broke down, so unavoidable. We all had burgers which were pretty good, the downside was the chips, it was £5 for a large portion, but when they arrived the portion was one of the smallest I've seen. So none of us were happy about that. I'd say average overall.

Had a wonderful lunch at The Oxenham. We have eaten here many times and keep coming back because we are never disappointed. The food was exceptional, very good value and the lovely Fran was very welcoming and could not have looked after us any better. I always have the steak because I cant get a better one anywhere else. We will return as soon as we can.

Excellent food, well presented, great choice and friendly service! Also a very pretty/attractive cafe 😍. Will be our favourite eaterie in Chagford !

Fui detenido y literalmente en viviendo el momento para un bocado ligero y nos encontramos con una cordial bienvenida. El lugar estaba a tope y después pedir del menú (creo casero comida de la cafetería) que comimos y disfrutamos y, a los parroquianos y nattering averiguar lo que estaba ocurriendo localmente. Gran loos también! Todo muy limpio y ordenado.

I love this Deli, the owners and their team are wonderful, kind and very friendly. I always leave with a smile on my face. The food is delicious and I love visiting.

I go here practically every Friday morning for 'second breakfast' with my toddler grandson. He loves it because he can play with other children (there's a big toy box), and have a warm cheese scone which he loves. I catch up with friends and have a coffee and something delicious to eat too. Everyone is so friendly... it's a wonderful place to be.

From start to finish this was an excellent experience. Really helpful on the phone and managed to squeeze us all in. Arrived and greeted warmly. We ordered fish and chips, chicken in honey and mustard sauce, sea trout, cottage pie plus panko prawns as a main. Everything was well presented and good size portions too. Better than that, however, was the taste - not one bad thing said about any of the food and in fact everyone was impressed with how good it all was. Hand cooked chips too which were delicious. Two of the party had dessert- sticky toffee pudding and Baileys cheesecake - again no complaints and lots of compliments! So if you want great tasting food, good sized portions and a fantastic service and atmosphere then what are you waiting for? Will definitely be back very soon.

10 of us called into the Walkhampton Inn after a walk on the Moor. It was warm and welcoming, with good beers and a good menu. We all ordered a lunch, there was no waiting. Good pub fare, great pies, fish and chips etc. We all enjoyed our meal and I shall be returning.

Lovely pub situated by the river Tavy. Friendly staff and good menu selection. Specialty being slow cooked meats on 3 smoke ovens. Good size portions.

Lovely welcome, gorgeous cream tea with lively warm scones. Dogs welcome, and a nice cuppa as well

Enjoyed a lovely bacon and egg filled sourdough toasted bap. Lush! Shared a scrumptious Ramble Jack with hubby. Nice clean surroundings. Friendly young staff.

What a genuinely fantastic pub. Warm atmosphere, great beer selection and a wonderful team who are always on hand to offer the most welcoming experience.
