Really decent breakfast for a fair price. Good quality and wait not too long at a busy time at lunch on a Saturday. Will be back.

Funtastic, yes funtadstic : only isdue in Tavy was parking me new Bugatti Shiron cuz I missed the bus! Wnt to Bobs for a nosh very impressed got a neal for 4 for usually what I spent on a glass of H20 at the Ritz! Visit here is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!@@!€€€€££££¥¥££ P.S I was in disguise see pics so no one could recog an ultra fame like moi!

Like a previous contributor I don’t like butter on my sandwich or fatty bacon however when my bacon buttie arrived it was absolutely delicious, exactly as I had ordered and I couldn’t believe how reasonably priced it was. I would also class my self as a fussy coffee drinker but yet again my cappuccino was served lovely and hot and tasted perfect (in fact I ended up having a second as it was so good). I’ve eaten here many times over the years and have never had a bad meal so it’s a shame that the negative reviewer didn’t bring their complaint to the attention of staff at the time so they had a chance to fix the problem as I’ve always found them very accommodating Personally I think it’s a great cafe, serving local produce at a very fair price and the fact that it’s always so busy speaks volumes. Don’t let a single bad review deter you from trying you, I’d be very surprised if you were disappointed.

On a market stall nearby ordered x2 bacon baps to takeaway. Specifically asked for no butter but when got back we found had both been plastered in butter/spread. Very oily and one contained more fat than bacon. Totally spoilt by butter taste and poor quality bacon, would have taken back but too busy. 3 stars being generous.

Ok! Here is my dilemma. 67th birthday & the Mrs asks what we should do. We eat out! We love doing it but we know it's not always the health option. But then again we are both 67 and have been doing this together for over 50 years. Done the Michelin stuff, done the healthy options. We have a longstanding affinity with Tavistock which offers a wide range of eating experiences. We have sampled most. For me, in Devon, it's hard to beat a drive across the moors (Ashburton to Tavy via Princetown) if the mist is not down! Bob's was the first place to leap into the memory so that's what we did! Great people, great breakfast options and in a location that just works for me! There is something special about this place. Yes the food is good but it's a social hub as well. Everyone is treated with respect. Always a warm welcome. Always good food. Always good service. Long live Bob's!

This place deserves all the accolades it gets. I'm not sure where the person was that gave them a one star review, it certainly can't have been here. The staff work their socks off to make sure the customer is satisfied with good hot freshly cooked food, as speedily as possible. OK fine dining it isn't. It's in a market for goodness sake. I'd also like to say it has some of the best bean to cup fresh coffee you will find anywhere and at an unmatched price. Go try it for yourself you won't find better value for your money.

Cannot fault the staff and the food, both excellent. Wife, granddaughter and myself throughly enjoyed our food. Brilliant value for money, and def come back here again. Now to walk it off with a walk through the park 😀

Whilst visiting Tavistock for the 1st time I was after a quick bite to eat. This cafe was bursting at the Seema with customers, and their faces said it all… I had to try a bite to eat. I went for a cheese burger and chips. It was delicious and a very good price too!!! Only took about 10 minutes to arrive, the staff were very friendly and I enjoyed my little stop there. I’ll be back again when visiting this area!

This is non pretentious, good and honest food and quick! Everything is piping hot and good tea....Service is good and always with some banter and a grin..there is honestly nothing to moan about..

There is a gem to be found in the Pannier Market at Tavistock.Having meandered through the market, a well earned rest was required.We found ourselves at Bob's East End Cafe.The owner, Bob, is a genial gentleman in the true East end style. However , winkles, whelks and eels are NOT on the menu.Traditional breakfast is though which we found to be inexpensive and expansive as my stomach testified. The Bob the builder breakfast would set up any artisan for the day. All fare is freshly cooked and waiting times are minimal.There are other options available to cater for various dietary tastes.Anyway, don't believe what I write; try it for yourself. This gem does not trade in disappointment.Lovely grub!Even Delboy would be impressed.

My family and I had lunch at Bob's recently. As ex-Tavistock residents, we always try to get to Bob's when we are down. It's such an excellent cafe!The food and service was as excellent as usual. But what made the visit for us, was how Bob came and chatted/listened to our daughters (3 and 6), whilst they told him how much they love reptiles and dinosaurs! This shows above and beyond customer service! Bob then produced a bag of sweets for each girl....After lunch of course!Highly recommend this cafe for a family lunch or just a really good bacon sarnie!Thanks to Bob and his excellent team!

Nice friendly place with good sized portions - we paid nearly £20 for 3 dishes and 3 coffees. Located at the end of the indoor market - dog friendly as well.

Great gem of a place, Bob's is excellent. Having stopped for coffee and read the extensive food menu, we had to return a couple of hours later for lunch. Substantial servings, especially the liver and bacon, it was a delicious meal that was greatly enjoyed by all. Highly recommended!

Cafe within Pannier Market. Social distancing well thought out. Tables cleaned thoroughly as soon as they were vacated.Good choice of "English" breakfast options. I particularly enjoyed bacon and sausage in eggy bread.... goodness knows how many calories but very tasty.My wife's choice was a much healthier ham salad sandwich which she too enjoyed.Cost with tea and soft drink a reasonable £10.

Visited Bob's Cafe within Tavistock Pannier Market today 11/7/2020, the food is great value for money and is hot. They have taken great care in setting out the tables both within and externally of the cafe so as to keep everyone safe, BUT.. the one thing their not doing is taking customers contact details as per government guidelines for track and trace purposes. I find this to be a total lack of care for their customers given all the other work done to protect their customers. Given that, I felt uncomfortable given I have immuno suppressant issues and couldn't wait to leave.

We stopped in on a rainy Friday for an early lunch - both of us had a pasty and baked beans and a cappuccino and the bill was £11. The pasties were the best we'd tasted, and the portion sizes were fantastic. Bob & his team were lovely - very friendly and welcoming. You can see why the café is so popular. The only downside (for us) was that we found them on the last day of our holiday...so didn't get to repeat the experience on this trip. But we have family & friends in the area, so we will be coming back again - and we will definitely be heading for Bob's when we do!!

We had an enormous english breakfast, all well cooked at a good price. Both members of staff were great and couldn't be more helpful. I'd highly recommend a visit and we will be going back when we visit again.The only downside is Sunday!! Bob, you need to open on a Sunday as we had a floppy bacon bap at Costa!!

Popped in today for lunch on this rainy Tuesday. Met with a warm welcome, good food & thoughtful service. At £26 for lunch (2 adults & 3 children who eat adult portions) plus drinks this was a rare find. Clean plates all round, will definitely return.

We always get lunch at Bob's Cafe when we visit Tavistock as the food is fantastic and very well priced. The staff are very welcoming and helpful which really makes for a very enjoyable visit. We honestly couldn't fault anything and will continue to pop in. The food portions are great, you will not leave hungry!

went here this week. Had small fish n chips . was very good. glad we had the small though cos was still a good size meal. All cooked to order. Drinks were hot too (not like lot of places that serve luke warm drinks). Service is very friendly. . Will deff go again when visiting the town.

Called with dog Lucy and enjoyed an omelette with chips and a good coffee. Unfortunately the chips were cooked nearly to extinction so Lucy had most of them! Looking around everyone's chips looked fine so clearly this was an exception. My fault for not complaining since I'm sure Bob would have put things right but I have to write as I find in these reviews and have dropped a star accordingly

We dropped in on Tuesday afternoon, after the lunchtime rush and shortly before the end of cooking time. We were very warmly welcomed and you didn’t at all feel like these were people who wished the day would just end.

We love Bob's! We've had many delicious breakfasts and lunches here at all different times of year: the food is always excellent, plentiful, well-cooked and well-priced, and service comes with a smile. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else in Tavistock for honest, good food like this.

This Eastend cafe is in the pannier market. They have a varied menu. (Unfortunately because of special dietary needs it's not for me.) Good big mugs of tea or coffee will keep us gooing all morning.

A well placed cafe in the market with a vast and well priced menu. Went with family and friends for a late breakfast before we went around town. The breakfast was well cooked and a good size for the price. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and the two cooks were rushed off their feet but did a brilliant job.

I highly recommend, wether your a local to tavi, work here or on your holiday this is the place to go for a bite! Full English with Coffee for under a six pounds takes some beating. This little Cafe in a corner of the Pannier Market is a place I alway end up Great Value. A steady local trade say no more, nice bit of banter going on, Love it. Huge menu but I'm sure if asked would try and knock up what ever you want.

I first did a review of Bobs East end cafe three years ago, we are no regulars and I wanted to give an up to date review.

Most of the time I pop in for a takeaway breakfast roll, the menu is extensive, it's always tasty, filling, fresh, and above all reasonably priced. I come back time and time again and am never disappointed. They really are all lovely people aswell. Keep it up Bobs

What a great little cafe, stumbled across it whilst walking around Tavistock with our dog. Went in to ask if dogs allowed and informed that yes they were ‘but wives had to stay outside’ Typical if the friendly staff humour when we were there. Cheap basic meals in the market. Similar to a greasy spoon, but does hit the spot. Lots of choice, but area can be cold in the winter.

After ordering food, the crisps that were with the meal were a month out of date. Then a slightly annoyed staff member over charged for a replacement order. Staff member tried to put me off by saying the re-ordered food would take over 15 minutes.

I've dropped into Bob's a few times recently while walking the dog round the town and thoroughly enjoyed the bacon sandwiches and sausage baps. I've gone a bit posh in my old age and prefer a nice fresh ground coffee these days. Bob does a good Americano to wash down my bacon while I catch up on the latest news (Brexit of course) in the Newspaper.

Brilliant cafe food, and that's a compliment. Hot freshly cooked and tasty.Chips especially nice.Good service and friendly, tea or coffee and you are ready for more shopping.
