The best restaurants serving British food in Salcombe and Malborough South Hams South West

Very clean, organised barn stop offering a good selection of cakes and snacks. Also a great variety of drink choices. Clean and tidy tables and toilets. All offered on an honesty basis. I hope people respect this trust and pay for a lovely place to stop and refuel.

Would absolutely recommend in a heartbeat. Quintessentially English hotel with impeccable service and the staff very friendly. The whole experience was worth every one of those 5 stars. The view from our room was magnificent and would go again and again and again.

One of the best ice creams I've eaten...and I've had quite a lot!!! Not the cheapest but great quality and portions. Comfy seats to watch the world go by too!

Although we’ve been coming to this area for years we’d never explored Bolberry. We stumbled across Oceans Restaurant during a dog walk and stopped for an excellent lunch. So nice we booked for dinner a couple of nights later and we’ve just returned from a lovely meal, probably the nicest evening out we’ve had for a long time. Excellent food, lovely setting, great service. We will certainly return and highly recommend.

We've been coming here for six years. The staff were always very friendly and the food excellent. Not any more ! Under new ownership, there has now been no food at all for several months and the staff are often off-hand. To make it worse, the Old Inn website still claims that food is served and even gives a sample menu. The pub's facebook group, which has frequent updates from the new management, states "... high quality homecooked food sourced locally." And there are posters either side of the front door proclaiming that food is available !

We popped in for a quick bite and the steak pasty did not disappoint and it was delicious. What we loved about it, it was hot 🔥 and full to the brim. It had a good portion of meat and it was well seasoned and tender. They had a lot of other savouries and sweets on offer and would recommend them all if the quality is the same as the pasties. I don't think you can do much about the atmosphere, 1 member of staff, empty shop and no noise, not even background music playing.

Amazing coffee and flapjack as a lovely snack. Fabulous view over the salcombe estuary. Will most definitely be returning :)

A lovely way to celebrate my Granddaughter’s 18th Birthday - fine dining and good service with a celebratory cake to round things off. The view from the restaurant is amazing and added to the ambience of the meal.

Definitely the best Vegetarian Breakfast. Served all day . Excellent value and great coffee. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Don’t forget to browse their shop as well . A veritable Aladdin’s Cave.

Greeted by the lovely Nicki, warm fire in the bar and a real cosy pub Fantastic choice on the menu which boasts huge local suppliers Local meats and fish all available, after eventually deciding what to have I went for the mixed grill Wow!!!! Perfectly cooked medium rare rump steak, lamb chop, pork chop, gammon steak, 2 sausage, chips, mushroom, grilled tomato and a fried egg Every single item cooked to perfection 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 And all of that for £35! Amazing value for money and made so welcome Cannot fault our evening and definitely coming back Thank you team Fortescue!!!!

Dog and kid friendly pub in beautiful location - they have board games and other family favourites to keep everyone entertained, food is good - though depending on the dish the portion can sometimes seem a bit small. The views are beautiful.

Thought this would have been a good establishment to eat at. Unfortunately as we first arrived and got ourselves seated. After about 15 minutes I'm o one came to our table. To provide us a menu or ask if we wanted a drink. I went to the bar to see if I needed to order there. As no one had come to our table. We were told someone will come. And to sit back down After another 5 minutes we were attended too. I ordered the home made steak burger. My other half ordered the fish and chips. After about 45 minutes or waiting. I asked when would our food be served, We were told another 5 minutes. Another 15 minutes past . No sign of our food. We were then told there had been a mistake made on our order!! We were offered 2 glasses of coke on the house. But I said our car park ticket is now running out. I decided to ask for the bill on our x2 drinks and bail out. As this was becoming a joke. Not a nice experience. As we left with no food served to us after over an hour A ''local'' decided to give my partner and myself verbal abuse on us exiting. My partner was very upset by this . And also the experience in general. The restaurant by the way was less than half full. Not busy . Which sometimes you can understand for a delay. All in all I feel this place is very over priced. Service very poor. And my advice is stay away. Try somewhere else.
