Emma provided a FABULOUS spread for 120 people following a funeral at Stoke Gabriel church. Everyone was catered for and the food was exceptional, most notably the crab cakes, samosas and scones, with jam and cream of course. Aunt and uncle have lived in the village for more than 50 years and have dined at Emma’s many times, always speaking MOST highly of the restaurant, food and Emma herself. Thank you!

I had been to this wonderful cafe once before and had a wonderful experience so when my friend came down to stay, I knew it was one of the places I wanted to take him. After a brisk walk, we headed into the warm & inviting cafe. A superb selection of food and drinks. My friend had a pot of tea and full English and I had the sausage, stilton and red caramelised onion sandwich & a flat white. We loved the selection of tea pots on the wall and was a lovely touch. We were planning on coming again but this time bringing my wife but unfortunately Storm Darragh put pay to that. But with the friendliness of everyone and the great selection of very reasonably priced dishes, we will definitely be back again. In fact all I can think about is the Festive Sandwich with all the trimmings…. So will be back before Christmas! 🤣

We booked for Sunday lunch as it was on the way to our holiday cottage. The menu was fairly small, we had the lamb shank and roast beef, it was all delicious. Along with the tasty cauliflower cheese and vegetables. It was also great value and the service was great. The staff were welcoming and friendly. A really lovely pub.

Very clean, organised barn stop offering a good selection of cakes and snacks. Also a great variety of drink choices. Clean and tidy tables and toilets. All offered on an honesty basis. I hope people respect this trust and pay for a lovely place to stop and refuel.

There's so much on offer - everything is top quality and there's a massive variety of different foods. We shop there instead of supermarkets and particularly love the hand-crafted sourdough and the organically grown vegetables and fruit. You can also get freshly made-to-order sandwiches and fabulous coffee. Then there's the deli-counter - so much to choose from and everything at its peak quality and freshness. Store cupboard and dried foods, herbs, spices, great coffees, local dairy produce. The owner is just delightful and unstinting in his excellent customer service.

This is a charming little cafe, tucked away behind the Old Market, well worth tracking down. Seats around ten inside and another handful outside, overlooking the little square. Excellent coffee, great bruschetta on sourdough, local cakes and toasted sandwiches. We tried the Gruyere, ham and Dijon mustard toastie, which was excellent. Fresh croissants and home-made cakes, too. Friendly, personal service.

Great wagyu burgers whatever the time of day! Fantastic friendly service by someone so enthusiastic about burgers. Not normally a burger fan but these... other worldly. I am yet to try the Halloumi burgers but I'm sure they are also awesome.

We arrived in Dartmouth for a weeks holiday and after reading the reviews thought Bushell’s Upper Deck sounded great so we walked down to give it a go. It’s a pop up restaurant and it was its last night of the summer. They welcomed us, explained as it was their last night there was a limited menu. We had a super meal, starters of squid and garlic flatbread, followed by seafood risotto and American pizza, finished off with tiramisu and ice cream. Fabulous food, great service, very friendly and welcoming and fabulous views. We certainly struck lucky! Thank you!

We spent two memorable days in The Cottage Hotel, Hope Cove. What treat it was having that fabulous view from our cosy rooms. The service was excellent with the friendly, obliging staff creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food is of a high standard and is reasonably priced.
