Can’t believe I haven’t visited sooner. My daughter and I popped up to the cafe for lunch, had very friendly service and delicious french onion soup with Gruyère cheese croutons. My daughter loved the quirky teapots and the homemade chocolate brownie. Definitely going back.

Beautiful, family run, friendly cafe with amazing food and spectacular views. Dog friendly as well. Highly recommend.

Wow, what a find! A very unassuming cafe from the outside, but with a nice outside seating area and a cosy inside. We had a simple but lovely lunch with very kind and friendly service, but what really caught my attention was how welcoming they were to a number of late arrivals, even with a closed sign at the door. Everyone was greeted warmly and offered something despite the fact that the kitchen had closed. I only hope this review doesn’t create unreasonable expectations because I’m sure they were ready for a break by then!

Popped in for lunch with my family. Such a lovely atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff. Food was excellent, highly recommend the full breakfast. My son loved his chicken burger and my wife had the ham and cheese toastie. Coffee was great too. We will be going back

Glorious spot, fabulous snasged avocado on bagel with hummus and chilli flakes, great cappuccino. Reasonable prices and very friendly service. Perfect after a dip in the sea in the bracing April wind!

We stopped here while walking the SW coast path, very friendly welcome, excellent service and a good menu with a wide range of options. If you want a welcoming, family run cafe, with good service and food this comes highly recommended.

Return customers following visit in August 2023. Once again, very welcoming staff, great coffee, delicious bacon bap with side relish and toasted tea cake. Really nice background 80's music. Worth the drive and car park charge which is not linked to the cafe. Thank you and see you again soon!

Another brilliant meal at cliff edge cafe, a great selection of food was available and even my daughter was pleased with her meal and huge treaty milkshake. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Look forward to coming again next time we visit from wales 🥰

We absolutely love this little cafe at one of our favourite spots. The food is always amazing and so we'll presented. All the staff are brilliant and are so attentive. Always get our little table reserved as it can get busy at times.

A delightful little oasis of a cafe found on a blowy coastal path walk kind of day. Having passed through for a cuppa on our ramble up to Mount Batten breakwater, we had a strong feeling we would like to eat here upon our return leg. And let me tell you, both our legs were very wobbly after that final up and down stretch between Leekbed Bay and Jennycliff Bay!!! Both times we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and the breakfast we chose was absolutely lovely. Nice selection of sandwiches, toasties and tea cakey bites also to be found on menu. Cosy and cute on the inside and the best teapots I've come across in a cafe in ages. Highly recommended.

Was looking for a place to have a sandwich and hot drink; and came across this cafe. Lovely location overlooking Bovisand Beach; with on site parking. Nice friendly staff; and decent menu. Sandwiches were delicious; on thick bread and came with tasty coleslaw and crisps. Would definitely recommend and will be returning

Couldn't use Ringo to park as no signal. And the folk in the Cafe offered the use of their WiFi. How nice! So thought ok will def buy a coffee pre swim. My partner and I went for a swim, which was fabulous and then we decided to have a breakfast and coffee which was top banana 🍌 🙂. Lovely food, bread and coffee! Can't recommend highly enough, genuine, friendly & cheerful. Thank you.

We were staying in bovisands chalet park and wandered up 2 times during the week, if we weren’t self catering we’d have been every day , lovely find , cosy inside , dog friendly, nice smily helpful staff, hot piping coffee , I had a bacon sausage and egg butty both times on quality bread which was hot using quality products ( not quite sure why you get salad garnish though and very nice chutney) outside is nice too . Loved it

This place is smashing !!!! Everything is great to est but my top favourite is the chicken and bacon bap thing it's gorgeous and I'm probably developing an addiction to it ! But who cares , great place great lunch great people great views . Xxxxxx

Had a lovely lunch of fish finger sandwiches, which come with side salad, dressing and crisps. We had added a basket of chips to share which we didn't need! Good size and very tasty. Friendly staff and good service. Outside area only at the moment but this gives fantastic views over Bovisand Bay and the coastal path. Car park is on Ringo app, so no cash required. Ask for coffee to be extra hot, hence lost point. Definitely recommend.

Our first visit but certainly won’t be our last! What a great place with terrific food at really affordable prices - our family of five ate lunch here plus drinks for £45. The staff are really friendly and helpful and wonderful with kids. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great food stop on the coast path, the toasties and chips were excellent, lots of it and high quality. For once a decent salad garnish too ! Well worth stopping or a detour as easily the best around.

After a walk from home of about 4 miles, we were able to enjoy delicious food and great coffee too fuel us for the journey home. The food is worth a visit even without the stunning views and access to a gorgeous beach.The avocado and egg bagel was spot on with salad and other treats including my daughter's milkshake. The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating despite all the lockdown restrictions. It's worth a trip!

My wife and child spent a wet, rainy morning here whilst I took the dog to the beach, they were given excellent service and the owners made them feel so welcome, and the food was fantastic . So we will definitely be returning for breakfast again soon !!!

This cafe is definitely worth a visit! Lovely snacks, especially the mince pies with clotted cream (must try)! But the best thing about this cafe is the service, we were served by a lovely lady who made us laugh and made the whole experience rather memorable!

He estado en los mejores restaurantes que no pueden producir la calidad de la comida que se sirve aquí. Tenía la ensalada de pollo con limón y la sopa de puerros y patatas. La sopa era una comida completa de textura sabrosa con un bollo de queso horneado maravillosamente. La ensalada estaba hermosamente presentada pollo recién cocinado con una maravillosa salsa picante de limón. Aceitunas, ensalada de papas y un huevo, todo separado. Servido con una ensalada de hojas y un aderezo para morirse. El servicio fue atento y amable de una cafetería familiar. Algunos chefs que conozco harían bien en visitar aquí y aprender. ¡Bien hecho! .

Stopped at the Cliff Edge Cafe for lunch with the family. Very friendly service and good quality food. Also a fantastic view watching the waves crash onto the beach and cliffs in the strong wind.

Paramos aquí mientras hacíamos una caminata circular por el sendero de la costa. Teníamos un sándwich tostado de queso y cebolla y un sándwich normal de queso y cebolla para compartir entre nosotros. Venía con una pequeña ensalada y un delicioso chutney. Estaba floreciendo encantador. Nos sentamos en la orilla para comerlo ya que no queríamos sentarnos en las sillas después de caminar durante 3 horas. Fue fabuloso. Personal amigable. Sándwiches realmente sabrosos. Altamente recomendado.

We had only come to park while enjoying the beach with the grandkids. But when one of them put her hand on a weever fish in the shallows, the only source of hot water (the best remedy) seemed the cafe. The owner was helpfulness itself. As soon as he knew what the problem was he produced a bucket of hot water, gave her a seat outside and lots of encouragement, put her hand in it, then adjusted the temperature. 10 mins later (and an ice cream), pain largely gone.

Very disappointed after last couple of vists .new owners .no hot meals anymore .No tables to sit down inside this once little cafe with its tables and friendly staff .An empty shell just serve cold drinks and ice cream .Sadley from this vist i fear its gone back 10. We found this little cafe whilst on a walk, and decided to stop for a coffee and tea cake.We sat out on the decking area in the sun with our dogs, there are a few tables inside the cafe if the weather isn't quite as good.The staff or owners were very welcoming and friendly and our drinks and food were brought out to us quickly, i can only review what we had which was great but by looking at what other customers had, breakfasts and bacon rolls etc, we will be returning to try these!Great little pit stop whilst on a walk.

Owner saved us a table in her tiny cafe, so we could celebrate our special anniversary. Wonderfully welcoming. Made us feel it was special for her too. Food was lovely - way above Beach Caff expectations. She recognised and welcomed us when we returned two weeks later!

We were staying at the Bovisand estate below and this cafe became our firm favourite for breakfast and lunch. Excellent food, good value for money and good choice without a crazy large menu that they wouldn't be able to maintain. The lady who runs the cafe is hilarious and was so friendly. My husband would recommend the mussels, I thought the signature salad was delicious and daughter loved her special order of a ham toastie on white with cucumber!! Definitely add this place to your trip to the beach.

We decided to give the children a breath of fresh air and we wanted to try somewhere new! We chose well! The coast path walk between Jennycliff & Bovisands was just perfect. Amazing views, varied pathway and lots of people to chat to as we passed. An hour later and the kids were ready for a break so how delighted was I to find this little gem.It was probably the friendliest and cleanest cafe I have been in in a long while. The baked goods on the immaculate counter looked delicious and a quick peak at the menu blackboard told me I could afford to feed my lot there.Everything from cream tea to toasted sandwich was on offer. I was greeted by the lady at the counter who made easy conversation with us and was so very helpful. Her apron was as immaculate as her tables and floor and I willed the kids to pick something to eat - but no, today they just wanted ice creams (they stock that new double raspberry one too - yum) and drinks! Predictable in their unpredictability my lot!We paid and made our way outside to one of the many bench tables.The floor outside was, you guessed it, immaculate! How do they do it???We sat and watch comfortably as a varied selection of dishes came out to the many families and couples that were visiting too.A car park attendant appeared from the cafe to help a car park in a free space and chatted happily to the occupants as they relieved them of their £3 ALL DAY fee - bargain! He even shouted helpful directions to the couple as they made their way to the beach below. Apparently if he's not around you just go and pat inside the cafe!Once we'd eaten our ice cream and gathered our debris I looked about hopelessly for a bin - spotting me though, the lovely lady from inside appeared at my table and lightened my load by taking it all away for me! I told her we would definitely be back and have already informed my family of my new find near the beach.To top it all off, I had a butterfly land on me and it stayed with me - literally - until I walked up the road to take the more direct route back to my car. It turns out it was quite a rare one usually only seen in these parts! Pictured below!Special day indeed....

My boyfriend and I popped in for breakfast yesterday. What a great little place! And right by the bus stop, too. We had the 'half British' breakfast which was very tasty and excellent value, especially with a mug of tea thrown in. We wanted to return in the afternoon to try one of the wonderful looking cakes, but we didn't check the closing time (3pm). Next time we'll know better!

Después de caminar desde Mount Batten en un día cálido y pasar una hora caminando por la playa, que era el tiempo para el almuerzo.Yo tenía un simple sándwich, como era tan cálida, y no me decepcionó. Ingredientes sabrosos y una guarnición preciosas de muy sabroso y ensalada bien presentado.El personal era muy servicial y muy popular entre los lugareños.Sin duda merece la pena parar.

Aunque recientemente de gira desde nuestra base en Torquay, de alguna manera tropezamos con el café, un increíble Cliffedge pequeño lugar con las vistas más impresionantes.Por desgracia no estábamos allí demasiado tiempo, pero suficiente para disfrutar de una taza y una sandwichera, absolutamente delicioso. Los propietarios Mike y Julia nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos desde el momento en que llegamos y no podía haber sido más amable.Si alguna vez paso otra vez sin duda nos pagarles otra visita.

Found this amazing place by accident. It is ideally situated in the most beautiful countryside by the beach. The cafe is warm and friendly and everyone is treated like a best friend. Food simple and delicious, Mediterranean themed. Not to be missed !

Steve and I have just got home from a lovely relaxed evening and wanted to say thank you. (ta!) to Julia and Mike for looking after us so well. Prawn cocktail, steak and strawberries/lemon posset - excellent value for money and cooked beautifully.Will definitely book again for future special evenings and will be visiting again daytimes soon for a welcome cuppa and snack or delicious slice of cake.A gem of a place run by true diamonds! We had walked from here to Mount Batten Point and back in the morning and were going to have our own sandwiches but the menu here looked so inviting we came here instead. Some very good pea soup and a toastie with a lovely side salad went down very nicely. It was even warm enough to eat outside on the 28th December, admiring the sea views - what's not to like.

After a most enjoyable walk along the beach and “Cliffe Edge” at Bovisand, it was fantastic to sit and watch the world go by with the freshly prepared full English breakfast and a great cup of coffee served by Michael Jackson no less – Yes really, that’s the owners name, and along with his partner in crime Julia, they certainly serve up, from what I could see, some really hearty fayre.It must be good as the place was packed. My wife and I certainly enjoyed our breakfast feast and we will drop in again to enjoy the traditionally cooked and very tasty food.It is a pleasure to visit somewhere cheap and cheery were the people who are working there have a passion for what they are doing, and a very pleasant change to see people happy in their workplace. Having said that, if I worked in a place with a view like the Cliffe Edge I would be ecstatic too!Next time we’ll call in for lunch – can’t wait, and thank you for your kind, personal and professional service.

...sausage and egg sandwich. A missed breakfast morning of photography on the beach left me ravenous and the little cafe nearby came to the rescue. A warm welcome, a truly delicious sandwich (incredibly tasty sausages) and a big mug of tea rejuvenated me and left me ready for an afternoon in the cold with my camera.Tremendous, I will most certainly be back.

We stumbled across this café after taking our dog for a walk down to the beach at bovisand. The food was absolutely delicious (I can thoroughly recommend the hummus!) and the huge piece of cake was honestly the best i've bought in Plymouth. Really reasonable prices, amazing view, friendly service and gorgeous food, we will definitely be back.

If you want breakfast or brunch this is the place to come, lovely surrounds and a big welcome from the lovely people who own the café, all food is cooked fresh and weather permitting you can enjoy it outside with stunning views. Check out the Specials Board the whitebait was mouthwatering delicious also the Greek Salad. Children and dogs are very welcome and is there is access to the beach.

We visited for lunch on Sunday and it was fantastic, 2 of the kids had burgers and another have jacket with cheese & beans whilst me and my wife had a prawn sandwich each (probably the nicest one I've had). Staff are great and it has a view to die for!Always worth a visit

You have to pay £2 even if you are only using the cafe. Very good view towards Bovisand and coast. Coffee was rather odd tasting and food looked rather basic.

Great cafe with reasonably priced breakfasts, snacks, light lunches etc and a wonderful view! We had simple bacon and egg toasties which were very well cooked with good quality bacon. The cafetière coffee was also excellent. Apparently they are open all year round which is welcome for walkers and locals. The car park is free if you are a cafe customer.The owners (since August) were very friendly and genuinely seemed to want to please their customers. The cafe has a pleasant seaside decor and there is an outside decking which should be ideal for Summer visitors.

The first "just because" evening was a great success. On a cold, cold evening the welcome was warm. Julie & Mike had made the café look romantic. The food was lovely with the best ingredients. Mike may not be a chef but he's a very good cook. If I had to say anything negative about the evening it would be the portions were too big... yep too big, several of the diners couldn't manage pudding so took it home in a doggy bag. I look forward to many more "just because" evenings.

Me and my best friend visit this cafe regularly for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful views. We are always made to feel at home and nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff. Good food and a very warm welcome from the new owners ( Julia and Mike ) for all at this small but delightful cafe with plenty of outside seating. An ideal stop-over with fantastic sea views for both locals and anyone visiting the area to enjoy. The menu is varied with freshly cooked food - to die for! The tea is always hot!It's now open all year round, with no parking fee during the winter months. Very highly recommended by 2 locals, who plan to visit regularly with their dogs. Went here today and had the large brunch. Prices are ok and food is lovely and fresh. Only thing would be to include a cuppa with the food price and mushrooms. Love a mushroom!Great owners very friendly and relaxed. Dog friendly too which is brilliant in this area where walkers are very popular all year round. The view are incredible and all on Plymstock's doorstep.Open all year though closed Monday and Tuesday in winter and close at 2:30 in the colder months.Definitely going back.

Breakfast was not good value. Shame as it is an attractive little place with lovely views. If they improved quality and quantity of breakfast they would really be on a winner there.

This is a lovely little cafe, friendly, informal and perfect after a cliff walk with your dog.Well behaved dogs are allowed in and the food is simple but perfect. The staff are efficient and really very pleasant. I had a very relaxing lunch with friends and we were not hurried along or made to feel we had stayed too long. Excellent value too!

I have stopped in the cafe for tea and cake a couple of times since the new owners took over a few weeks ago. Went in for a late breakfast lunch yesterday after a morning on the beach. The sausage and bacon used in our sandwiches was very good quality and they were delicious. Keep up the good work this is a great cafe with fabulous views. (and you don't get pounced on for the car park money anymore!)

Average, limited menu, very small coffee cups, although price cheaper than Café Bovisand, still felt at £1.60 my latte was too dear. The man jumped on us as soon as arrived (literally) to pay for parking, didn't feel very relaxed. When sat by the window inside unfortunately the view is obscured by the writing on the window. Shame that.
