Exactly what it says on the tin...Great freshly made pies packed with beef and mine with a blue cheese topping. My husband had the mash and me the triple cut chips. Good thick gravy...we loved it. Owner chatty but not intrusive and happy to chat about the restaurant. As freshly made you may have to wait a little to be fed but worth it.

Every year we visit Pie Steet when on holiday in Devon. Never disappoints. Consistently good food. Went twice this year! Be back in 2025!

Lovely place greeted with a warm welcome, very clean, toilet facilities, all the food made fresh to order and staff explained this would take 20 mins and it did, The pies are amazing with fresh veg and your choice of tripple cooked chips, new potatoes or buttery mashed potato plus a gravy of your choice, very generous portions beautifully cooked nice and hot. We definitely return again.

Been in Totnes lots of times and must have walked past here lots of times without going in. This time we stopped in for lunch, cool looking place inside, cafe by day, bar by evening? My partner had pie and mash (and I had some of it too). Lots of gravy and well cooked veg. Delicious! I had Caesar salad , which was also great, but wish i'd had a pie! Service was polite and fast. Place was very busy-guess they all know how good the pies are! We will be back

Great place. Food was really homely. Friendly staff. Delicious chips. Was slightly disappointed in the homity pie because it just oozed everywhere and seemed too wet. Gravy great!

One of the nicest pies I’ve had the pleasure of eating. With creamy mash, cabbage greens and a separate white wine sauce of choice it was absolutely delicious. Can’t fault it. Service was very good and swift too. I’ll definitely go again

I was hesitant, how good can I pie be ( especially being veggie) but it was amazing! The pastry was thick, buttery and flaky! Highly recommend the white wine sauce.

We have just returned from having a meal at Pie Street. We had the Chicken Ham n Leek pie which was absolutely delicious! Infact the whole meal was. They deserve a 10 out of 10 and we would definitely eat here again.

Had a lovely lunch here during our Bank Holiday trip to Devon. Some pies there more pastry than filling, but this was just the right ratio. Served piping hot with greens, triple cooked chips and gravy… All delicious. Our plates were spotless at the end. Highly recommend!

Really enjoy this place. Does what it says on the sign and then does it well. Normally I do not go for pies as I find they can be soggy and dull. However these are not at all and I have never been disappointed.

Lovely setting but service was atrocious. We were rushed to order as there was a big party that came in after us. This big party consisted of 5 people. They started putting chairs on tables at 9 when they closed at 10 and felt pressured to leave. Such a shame as it was a first date which was going well. The pastry was heavy even for a pie.

This has become my go to place for good, hearty food at a reasonable price. We both had the mushroom au poivre pie which was delicious. I asked for extra butter on my beautifully cooked greens and was given 3 pats so all was good. We were too full for dessert so the mocha coffee hit the spot. The service was friendly and might try one of the many cocktails on offer next time to really elevate the experience!

every year we visit Devon and a few years ago discovered Pie Street now its a kind of pilgramage.Its a special very small place but if you like british pies and cabbage cooked al dente not soggy you will love it,some pies even have suet pastry which I love.No complaints I can think of,I will be visiting in May and forget the diet

Simple and delicious! Simple is not easy to do- the restaurant offered a range of amazing pies (my steak and ale was fantastic), and we loved our lunch. It was all fresh, filling and -above all- tasty. The friendly service added to the atmosphere. Will come again.

What a great meal! The pastry for the pies was delicious it was full of meat and full of flavour. The chips were to die for. You definetly get a good hearty portion and we loved the gravy. We would highly recommend you vist and safe space for the desserts. The staff and service was friendly and attentive, they looked after us very well and even gave the dogs a little chicken, which went down very well with them.

Popped in for a coffee and cake, had a coffee and walnut muffin and a latte and both were superb. I wish I had time to stay and have a pie as they looked so nice. The waiter was charming and helpful and the service was top notch and the price was very reasonable compared. Ordered a cheeky carrot cake to take out and that was gorgeous as well!

Simple food, beautiful ingredients and cooked to perfection. I had the steak and ale pie which was delicious but the winner had to be the steak and Devon which my wife had. I only managed to get a small piece as she couldn’t finish it. One of the group isn’t a great lover of pastry and opted for the fish pie. She said it was the best she’s ever eaten. Couldn’t manage dessert but what I seen being served looked lovely. A small selection of local draft ales ( very nice) a large selection of bottled lager and beer. Also good selection of wines all very well priced.

The food here is outstanding. It's a small establishment but with a cosy and friendly setting. A bit of a walk if you've started at the bottom of town but, in any case, worth the effort. There is a good selection of drinks too. Will definitely come back.

Arrived at 7.30 - 45 mins later told us that order hadn’t gone through - 9 other people who came in after us and received their food before us - 9pm food, but had ran out of chips and mash! Pie and peas! Said ‘sorry’ but just didn’t seem to ‘get it’. Shame as coming forward to it - They knew they were in the wrong but just didn’t know how to deal with the situation.

I took my mum here today for her birthday, she loves a pie and is quite the pie connoisseur, so i am always on the hunt to find her the best place..well i think we found it! Proper shortcrust pastry, delicious filling, great options of sides and gravies and the perfect portion size. Also so impressed with the service, we had a blonde lady and she was efficient, friendly and super helpful. We can't wait to come back to our new favourite place. Thank you

If you like pies, this is the place! Reasonable prices, great choice. Even a little pair of scissors to open annoying condiments.

Fabulous, superior pies - we had Steak & Ale and Steak & Stilton. One of us had mash (really creamy), the other with chips (delicious), both with tasty green cabbage. Desserts looked tempting but we were too full to attempt them! We felt it was very good value and were very pleased we choice this place on our visit to Totnes.

Pies great and general service very good - Sadly let down by an Irish Coffee - When I fed back that this was just a coffee with whisky in it and lacked the layer of cream on top, was told this is a new kind of Irish coffee? I fear utter nonsense! If its true than I hate it as its just a coffee with Whisky in it and no longer represents what is an Irish coffee. Its a shame as the pies are great.

Only just home from a superb on the spur of the moment lunch at Pie Street. Steak and ale and Devon Blue Cheese pie - delicious plus scrumptious chips, and cabbage, which made it feel somewhat healthy! Followed by just the best treacle tart and ice cream (shared I hasten to add). Together with lovey friendly staff and the fact they had my favourite ginger beer it was a number 1 lunchtime. Thank you very much and we will be back.

The pie itself was lovely, the chips were undercooked and hard and the veg wasn’t very nice at all. Both could have done with a little bit longer! They were also out of mash! The service was very poor, no one came over to take our order for 30 minutes after giving us our menus. Once we received our food we had no cutlery although they were apoplectic about this once I asked. The most important thing is that when we had our bill sent to the table it was £37, I payed by card. I thought it was a little weird that the waiter was hiding the screen so I asked for another receipt, he had added 2 take home pies to the order and charged me another £18! When I asked about it he went to check that I hadn’t ordered them and seemed very sheepish!! Be very careful to double check before you pay in this place.

What a place, really outstanding. I had chicken ham and leek pie with amazing pastry, sauce was top notch - only negative for me - I would say it was slightly sparse of meat. Beef dripping chips were up there as some of the best i've had. Partner had the warm potato and blue cheese salad which was also really good, you know when you order a salad it can be flat this was 'now thats a salad', simple but tasty. I believe it was the owner and and another server were very welcoming and engaging. If you walk past and think 'o its just a pie shop' you should really try it.

Beautiful food. Beef dripping chips are fluffy but crunchy. Pie crust is blatantly suet, which makes my heart sing! My garlic roasties and Devon Blue salad was to die for. Oh and that mushroom white wine sauce is perfectly seasoned and delicious. Don't live in Totnes, but will make the trip back to eat there again! Thank you

Love this place, the excellent food and the friendly vibe. The pies really are excellent. Beautiful flavoured and textured pastry and fillings , made and pressed in the kitchen on site. The menu is uncomplicated and consistently good. I love veg, so getting lots of fresh al dente greens (or salad when it's not big meal day) is a real treat. Combined with choice of extra gravy or sauce on the side. And if I'm feeling like a Vege option, the mushroom wellington is ace.

Made our first visit to Pie Street today and it certainly won't be our last! We shared the chicken, ham and leak pie which was served with cabbage, triple fried chips and gravy. This was followed by treacle tart and custard. We both agreed that the food was excellent as was the service. Looking forward to our next visit!

Traditional restaurant specialising in a wide range of pies including specials - on the say we ate this was a very tender wild venison, orange and juniper pie. Three simple steps - order your chosen pie, then the type of potato and finally the sauce or gravy. Very pleasant service and a good range of wines by the glass or local beers and ciders. The desserts also home made and looked very tempting but we had a train to catch - thankfully the staff had told us to look out for Bob the bus a volunteer stop me when you see me service

Ok this is simple. The pie was tasteless. The greens too hard. The beef dripping chips..... what a joke!!!! They were hard chinese take away chips saved from the nite before! Makes it even more absurd when the waitress declares how amazing the beef dripping...

Needed something to eat in Totnes, luckily we decided on Pie Street, the pie, chips, cabbage and gravy was all amazing, very well cooked and decent portion sizes. I would very much recommend this place and will hopefully be in the area again soon for another visit.

If you love pie, you have got to stop by here. Unbelievably good food and fantastic desserts to finish. Everything cooked to perfection and a super-homely feel and flavour. Last but by no means least, incredibly friendly and polite staff, and it's super dog friendly! 11/10

Lovely food, I'd recommend the chicken, ham, and leek pie. Pleasant and polite service which made us feel welcome. However the orders took quite a long time to be served. This might be because the food was prepared to order, but with a young child, we had hoped to eat and leave a bit earlier. I would definitely recommend Pie Street if you're catching up with friends.

Always visit Pie Street when on holiday in Totnes. Never disappoints, hence our returning 3 families with a number of young kids well accommodated fed and watered . Believe it’s now under new ownership so my best wishes for the future and we look forward...

Delicious food and great service.

We had been considering this restaurant for many days and took a chance one evening and nabbed the last table. The ordering process was easy and the staff were fantastically friendly, patient and accommodating. The menu was lovely and a real challenge to decide. When the food arrived we were very pleased with the presentation and delivery but it was nothing compared to the taste of the meal. The pies were cooked beautifully and the gravy was amazing. I've been recommending the pie street to anyone who will listen.

Best pies 🥧 in Devon and maybe planet Earth. Great take away service. Also fun / great to eat in. Nice little bar setup as well. Order ahead for take away during peaks seasons (Summer and Xmas) and weekends. I am regular and will keep coming back for sure!

It was a place of delicious food, namely a great variety of pies that allowed a nursing mother in our group to confidently avoid dairy.

My pie was good, but not very big & not much filling. Chips were good as was the cabbage that came with it. My wife had the special of the day, Devon blue cheese salad, which she loved. Very friendly service, but quite a wait for the food, but it was probably freshly cooked. I personally wouldn't rush back, but my wife would.

I love it when when restaurants just do things right. The place is called Pie Street, and the expectation of your pie... are high! And they don't disappoint. Beautifully made pastry and fillings served with creamy mash and greens. Perfect!

We didn't have reservations, but we're easily accommodated. The food took about 20 minutes as the waiter had said. The chicken, Leek, and ham pie was delicious, served with minted potatoes and cabbage and a cream of mushroom sauce. Reasonably priced

Marvellous steak and ale with simply wonderful pastry, resisted the beef dripping chips and opted for the minted new potatoes and cabbage. A good choice methinks but the chips and mash alternative looked great. All made for a wonderful lunch
