We come down to the Salcombe area each year and stayed in East Prawle two years ago. One of the biggest draws back to this lovely village for us this year was the Piglet Cafe. The food is excellent and the service is, without fail, friendly and welcoming. We had our one year old and Labrador with us this year and could not have been made to feel more welcome. We had breakfast every morning (amazing!) and a couple of other meals which were also lovely. Homemade, tasty, good quality food. Thank you to Julie and the rest of the Piglet Cafe team.

We have visited Alf's for many years with the various anniversary mugs to prove it. Over the last few visits, since the change of ownership, the energy, service and quality has taken a dip. As such, sadly, Alfās is no longer our āgo-toā place the moment we arrive in Dartmouth.

I will try and keep this review constructive and balanced Disappointing unremarkable meal for 2. Have eaten here previously several times but the menu has changed to a more traditional style- which was uninspiring and overpriced. Pub grub can still be home cooked and tasty.. We were the only diners on a Saturday evening ( 1 other table of 2 did arrive) I ordered steak. āmedium rareā it came out āvery well doneā .. sent it back .. came back ārare/ blueā ā¦ so I gave upā¦ shouldnāt be that difficult to cook a steak correctly. Whilst I was waiting for my steak to be redone my partner had chicken & sweet chilli pizza which was soggy and bland . ( mostly eaten alone while I was waiting) We had already paid when ordering and no reduction offered ( would rather have had a decent meal) Didnāt bother with dessert and sad to say we wonāt return. Waiting staff were pleasant

Tremendous food as always, but with one oddity. All three of us had the vegetarian option. There was sourdough bread as part of our excellent starters, but the main course was really all vegetables: no staple (e.g. potatoes, rice or pasta), and virtually no protein apart from a few beans. The food was lovely, but we had to ask for more bread to go with the main course to balance it out.

Fabulous. We visited for a High Tea for my mums birthday. Absolutely blown away by the food quality and quantity. The staff could not have been better, warm friendly, welcoming and attentive. Fantastic little gem in Dartmouth that you absolutely must visit. The scones where amazing and you could tell they where home made and baked with love. They had an amazing selection of gluten free and home baked cakes

Visited this pub early evening and it was already busy so a good idea to book. This is a very traditional place, full of character and very friendly. The menu is pub grub which is a change to many of the pub/restaurants in the area and the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area

We have just got home from spending 4 nights in Littlehempston. We ate at the Tally Ho every night. Absolute superb local pub. From the welcome of the Landlord and Landlady, Mike and Kelly to the delightful food choices on their menu. The chef supplies you with pure gastronomic delights. Cooked to perfection. The Chowder was the best we have ever eaten. Just one of the many delicious dishes served to us. We would definitely recommend a visit here. The warmth and ambience of your welcome is amazing and we canāt wait to visit again.
