Visited this pub early evening and it was already busy so a good idea to book. This is a very traditional place, full of character and very friendly. The menu is pub grub which is a change to many of the pub/restaurants in the area and the prices are very reasonable. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area

It’s so refreshing to go to a pub you have been going to, on holiday, for many years and find nothing has changed - same bar lady, same menu, same beautiful garden and largely the same prices. A very nice pint of Tarka Lager for £4. The food is just what you need at lunchtime. I had a fantastic Tuna Sandwich and my wife Scampi & Chips in the basket. Big portions, well cooked/prepared and a great price. To top it off my phone went straight on the WiFi. The bar lady said she had been there 11 years and the password had always been the same. Some places are just so good they don’t need changing. Highly recommend.

Staying in the village in a friend’s house we went in for dinner on the first night. And then most nights for a drink. We both had steak and mushroom pie which was almost perfect, moist pastry, tender beef and delicious mushrooms. The staff are very friendly even though the pub is rammed with holidaymakers which makes for a longer than ideal wait for food. Drinks are good, nothing to write home about really, couple of local ales which are worth a go if that’s your thing. If you’re in Slapton, I’d highly recommend it.

I haven't given the pub more stars only due to having drinks there. However, sitting in the loveliest garden setting, drinking on a hot summer day was beautiful. The pub overlooks the church, or is it the overway round! If we were staying in area longer would have gone back for lunch or dinner. Closed on a Monday.

Over cooked chips, soggy burger, fish not great either, beer and wine average. Didn’t complain as such, but it was obvious that we were unhappy with the food, they really were just not bothered. Bring on new owners!

During a spectacularly damp and rainy Easter break, we enjoyed two evenings and one lunch time at the Queen’s Arms. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed a fine range of drinks - ales, ciders etc. Culinary highlights include the generous and tasty prawn sandwich from the lunch menu and a good range of home-cooked pub classics from the evening menu. Sensible pricing such that we returned on multiple occasions. Staff very friendly and the ladlord/lady’s dogs amused us immensely at the end of each evening. Perfect.

The children's menu was not very varied so we had to buy an adult meal as they said they couldn't do a smaller portion which is fair enough, however my husband had the 10oz gammon which was absolutely not 10oz, it was much smaller and extremely thin, to the point of being crispy. I am a professional chef so I know my weights and measures and this was extremely wrong. It should not be listed as 10oz when it definitely isn't and if trading standards were called these premises would get into trouble for this. Food was ok but small for the price. Would not return

We visited here on a rainy Sunday in August, ordered a Jail House ale (which was delicious) to drink while we perused the menu. It was a funny little place, with the lady behind the bar claiming the pub was packed when only half the tables were filled... Though, I admit it didn't take long after opening time for the pub to fill right up! (They don't take bookings in summer so it worth getting there promptly to get a table.) We ordered a steak and mushroom pie and a fisherman's pie with chips and peas and they were great. This pub offers good pub grub, good service, great ale and a lovely garden (for sunny days) just a stone's throw from Slapton Sands beach and campsite.

There is a very wide selection of beers, ciders and wines here and a really decent menu with lots of choice. There are more wines on the menu that on the chalk board if you want something different. Food orders (placed at bar) were delivered really quickly and the food was delicious and served in good proportions. I would recommend this to anyone staying up the road at the camping and caravanning site (which is where we were). Great charm and character and nice ambience.

Christmas lunch for 12 of us. Pre ordered from a balanced and varied seasonal menu that included fish and vegetarian options. Excellent value and we were very well looked after. Exceptional selection of well cooked Vegetables, recipe for the red cabbage please . Some of us were disappointed that we didn't have room for a desert ! This is a family owned proper pub with helpful competent staff. Parking right opposite but payment by card challenged some of us oldies.

Limited opening times, No food so asked out of curtesy if grandson could eat a snack. Was told no but to eat outside in the garden which had a closed sign on the gate, so had eat in the smoking area. Didn't feel particularly welcome. No alternative snack was offered. Wasn't very accommodating, we were staying local and would have returned for a meal but they said closed Monday and Tuesday and we would need to book if wanted to return. I would advise anyone to give this pub a a miss as there are much better pubs in the area
