My boyfriend and I came here to The Cottage a few weeks ago on his bike. It's a gem of a bar in the lush hills with great service minded staff. Very good music for a nice chill. I think this might be our new favorite pub! See you soon.

We shared a meal here with colleagues. The location is great being on the outskirts of Bridgwater, and the building looks and feels like a 'proper' country pub, inside and out. Staff are friendly and efficient, and we all enjoyed our meals. Good selection of local beers and the food menu changes regularly.

Loose leaf tea & had to ask for tea strainer. Ordered toast which came without any knives or serviettes. Instead of having a leisurely tea & toast I was up & down asking for things that should automatically been placed on the table. Very disappointing as have been here before & was looking forward to it.

The location is unique in that it is a working cider farm, with a fabulous restaurant and a gem of a shop all combined into one place! My 3 year old enjoyed watching the machines working and the rest of the family loved the food. The carvery was top class, and unlike some carveries that you can go to in no way don’t feel disappointed by either the portions or the quality! The chef was charming and the waiting staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was a really pleasant place to spend time and I really appreciated the kids play area. The shop after was full of classy products that make for nice presents or treats for yourself. Overall, I’d say great value, great quality, and if I were local I’d visit regularly.

After 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting for our 3 meals. Two arrived only to be told they had run out of turkey which was the only option left on work the carvery. To then be told we would have to wait till the chef could cook some chicken as a substitute. The others in our group had all eaten nearly 40 minutes before. Everyone having ordered at the same time. This is no acceptable by any means. The food was good. The waiting time was a joke

I am shocked at all these positive reviews? What an absolute dump! I wouldn’t call their junk ‘memorabilia’ & more like tat from the seafront shops. It was awful & needs pulling down. We went for the Burger & Chips night & although the cider & beer was good the burger tasted like a fairground burger - full of fat which dripped out the bun upon first bite. I couldn’t wait to leave - felt so uncomfortable in there. The bar lady was very friendly but honestly go further up the road for some lovely Somerset pubs.

This has got to be one of the most unusual pub meal experiences in my life. Here's the situation - I was due at a meeting and I'd left too little time to get dinner, but I was passing and dropped into The Cottage Inn. I asked what the wait was for food and the girl behind the counter said there was no wait. I took my life in my hands and ordered a pie with chips. Then I asked how long it would take. She popped back to the kitchen and came back to announce 'About two minutes'. I laughed because I assumed she was joking. She said really and I sat down. Eighty seconds later as I drank my Coke, the food arrived and it was incredible. I could not believe it. It was fresh. It was tasty. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. And it was delivered well within the promised two minutes. Excellent staff. Impeccable service. Great food. Great price. Lovely atmosphere. Perfect.

The food is cooked with care and attention every mouthful is a sadness as it’s one nearer to the end of your meal a waiter come to ask how was my meal I nearly growled like a dog as I thought he was about to take my plate of flavour explosions away I had roast beef with all the trimmings the vegetables were cooked to perfection I started to try and scrape the pattern off the plate just get one more mouthful of this flavoursome delights the cook said there wasn’t a roast potato or Yorkshire pudding left . I could see tears in the eyes of late arrives when told that the restaurant was closed they ask to book for next week please.

Went for lunch with my husband today. Fabulous freshly caught cod, served fried in panko breadcrumbs with chips and peas. Also had a side salad that was better than many a main salad in other establishments - full of different types of salad leaves with baby tomatoes and cucumber with sunflower seeds and balsamic dressing. However, the star was the beautiful fresh cod. We'll be back, and hope there will have been a delivery from Brixham!

We'd walked past a few chippies which didn't look appetising. This one had a queue. always a good sign. We joined it and ordered. We took our fish and chips and sat on the promedade just at the end of the road. The fish was tasty, crisp batter and a large size. It was a good choice of chippy!
