A really lovely vibe in this cafe, beautiful display of food and lots of choice. Friendly staff to boot and the West Country Cider Chutney is delicious - so lovely I had to buy a pot to take home. Not the cheapest but you can tell they use quality ingredients and so well worth it!

Came here for lunch today. The staff double charged us for a coffee and unfortunately the coffee was the WORST coffee I’ve ever had. And I’m not saying that lightly. I had an iced oat latte, my family members each got a latte. All tasted like they were half water, one of the hot coffee’s was Luke warm and the coffee itself isn’t really that nice. Although I have been complaining. I had the steak pasty, and even though it was expensive it was very tasty. My family all got sausage rolls and they had similar reactions.

Brilliant location with seating outside right next to a river and a really cosy atmosphere inside. Me and my wife went for breakfast which, unfortunately, was pretty terrible. We wanted to visit due to how nice the place looked and with it being a local establishment. Breakfast was £14 each plus drinks so quite an expensive endeavour which isn’t an issue if you get good quality ingredients in return. All did the sausage was terribly overcooked as was the bacon which we had one bite off and left. It tasted, felt and looked like it had been warmed up from day before. Like rubber. Beans were cold. Eggs were perfect however. I had an espresso that tasted foul and extremely bitter; my nespresso machine makes a better one. We didn’t try them but the cakes looked really good as did the quiche. Wouldn’t be back in a hurry and such a shame as such a nice venue and we always try and support local. I would amazed if the produce served at breakfast was local though. Staff were great though

Top notch food served in a clean café, set in dramatic surroundings. We had coffee and cake, and to be fair the sizes of both portions weren't huge, but by the time we'd finished them we were both satisfied. All the hot food being served looked fantastic too. Other cafés in Cheddar appeared to be mainly of the old school variety (nothing wrong with that), but if you prefer somewhere more contemporary then here would be a good choice. Pretty disappointing. During our trip to cheddar we visited this cafe having a hankering for a cheese toastie. We’d seen the cafe featured on Adam Richman’s new show and were very keen to get our hands on it. However when I asked at the till for it the staff were quick to say that they weren’t doing toasties. Although a bit miffed I opted for a cheddar cheese pasty, since we were in cheddar I felt it criminal to miss out on a cheddar dish. Sadly again there were none left. Although it was only 2.30 on a Friday afternoon we understood, we left the cafe quickly and nipped across the road for a cheese board at Lion Rock tea rooms. We theorised that maybe they had ran out of cheddar for the toasties on this early Friday afternoon or maybe the culinary expert competent enough to make such an intricate dish had been taken ill. Either way we were pleased that the afternoon ended at tea room across the road!

Beautiful door step crusty bread and a generous amount of delicious fillings with a side salad and an onion chutney. This was one of the best toasties we have ever eaten and the service was quick and friendly. We also had a slice of lemon cake and coffee and walnut cake, again fresh and good. We went here yesterday for brunch, found a table to sit on outside, gorgeous views! I went in and ordered our food, paid, and went back to our table outside. First came out my iced coffee, the young man said is that everything you've ordered, I said no we've got a breakfast sandwich, a sausage sandwich and a latte to come, he looked puzzled and said oh ok, and walked off! Then a girl came over and said we seem to only have an order for an iced coffee...do you want to order food? I said well I've just been charged over 20 pound so I hope our food is ordered, then suddenly our food arrived while she was still stood there looking puzzled! Started eating our food...the egg in my husbands breakfast sandwich was like a lump of rubber...sausages were nice though, then eventually my husbands latte arrived, and the woman said it seems you didn't pay for this latte so can you pay for it on your way out!! Also after finishing eating, we got told to put my elderly tiny dog on the ground! Not only were we outside, the tables were already covered in garden debris and bits of food, and my dog was sat on MY lap, not touching anything to do with the cafe!!! A very chaotic uncomfortable brunch! Altogether not the best experience I'm afraid!

Just a bit disappointed to one of the staff which we asked to clear the table for us, said she will ask someone to do it, the next thing- our order came still with dirty plates on the table. Went there as a treat after climbing Joseph's ladder. The atmosphere was lovely and so were the service and food/drinks. We had the cider fruit cake, the apricot and pistachio cake, a raspberry lemonade, and sheppy's cider. The cafe is dog friendly as well. Prices are decent.

Beautiful spot to have a drink by the river. I had a cream tea which was brilliant, the fluffiest scone I've ever eaten

Would recommend a trip to Cheddar Gorge for this place alone. The club toastie changed my life and has been on my mind two weeks after eating it!

Stopped here after a cold but beautiful ride down the gorge with friends. A lovely, warm welcoming atmosphere. Coffee and flapjack were excellent!

Lovely local cafe/restaurant 👌. Great to visit as a local and equally welcoming to tourists. Plenty of choice of savoury or sweet whatever your want. Check it out!

Just had the most outstanding roast here with all my family! I'm so fussy with roast dinners, but here there is literally nothing to criticise. Inventive, quality produce, beautifully cooked and presented with fabulous service. If you haven't been yet, do it! you won't regret it! FIVE BIG STARS

Excellent service food and atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and the Inn is comfortable and homely. There is a small beer garden at the front, which was nice to sit in for a while to enjoy a rare glimpse of sun, and a car park with plenty of room. All round, it was a great place to stay and eat. The only one piece of feedback I'd leave is that the only normal milk in the place (when we were there anyway) was full fat. We have only drunk skimmed for years so full fat is like adding cream, so had to drink coffee and tea black for breakfast and didn't bother in the room. If we'd known we'd have brought our own. Not a big problem but it doesn't seem too much trouble to have some skimmed or semi skimmed milk available. Anyway, we will definitely be staying again to meet up with friends, as its a great venue with excellent staff, but we'll bring our own milk next time.

We went and did padel while we were staying in Brean and went into the restaurant. Brilliant Mon-Thurs 2 course with pot of tea £10. So we returned the Friday night for the full menu. A must if you are in brean

This small cafe really surprised me, food was fantastic and waitress was friendly. Jacket potato looked a bit different than usually, but it was delicious and what a astonishing vegetable soup. Must try! Ham in a sandwich was flavorful, perfect I might say!
