Superb place, superb ciders. Spend all afternoon here with friends, will definitely return when in area

We read about The Cider Barn and popped by after our visit to Cheddar. This is a really interesting place to visit and is like no other pubs we have visited. There is a pool table at the back, inside seating as well as outdoor seating. We enjoyed our cold cider and lukewarm cider, and the various signs scattered around the pub. The crew are friendly too. This is definitely an interesting place that we will definitely remember for a long time.

What a fabulous find. Such friendly staff, quirky atmosphere, amazing cider. Pool table 50p a game. Walked in and instantly felt at home. Pre book a cab as the cider is over 10%! Will come back for sure.

On another evening at a different time of year, the Cider Barn experience would be very different and I would try it again on that basis. But on a dark March night it was quite dead ... just a few locals and a few tourists. Of course there's a decent cider selection, and almost by accident we discovered an ale was available even though not on the board (??). The place lives on pizzas too, but not wanting those we opted for what turned out to be a very dry scampi/chips, and a dish which I can't recall and which while tasty and certainly homemade was pulled out of a fridge or freezer by the bar staff and almost certainly microwaved.

I chose this at the last minute on TripAdvisor being unfamiliar with the area. To call The Cider Barn "unassuming" would be entirely appropriate and I think they'd be pleased to agree. The attitude of the team and the friendly service make this place remarkably welcoming. The name of the place sets the scene. They have a large range of ciders on hand and I did indulge. The food menu isn't extensive, but the pizza was outstanding! I had the "Meat feast". It was pleasantly spicy and absolutely loaded with meat and cheese. It may b e a long time before I get back to Cheddar, but I would happily visit again.

The cider barn is an absolute gem, we stayed at strawberry fields lodges just behind the cider barn. We ate and drank there most days. Jason and his crew are absolutely brilliant. Food is varied and very tasty but Thursday is steak night trust us you do not want to miss this. Jason collects the steak locally then preps them before cooking to absolute perfection

On holiday in the area popped into the cider barn for some food & a drink, sat outside as it was a lovely evening & got chatting to the locals, lovely people & we had a laugh with them. Food was delicious & plenty of it for the price, don't understand how some people are saying they felt uncomfortable here, we really enjoyed ourselves & will definitely be back when next in the area

A great find on a rainy day, a very large group of us turned up unannounced from the nearby campsite and the staff looked after us really well. Lovely food, especially the pizzas. We stayed for a few hours and we were made to feel welcome and unrushed.

We came here with our little girl while on holiday in the area. It was a relaxed and fun venue to while away a couple of hours. We enjoyed drinks and pizza. Would be a great place to have as your local.

This place was busy and is clearly popular with locals, however we didn't receive the warmest reception. When my friend went to order a drink she was advised by someone else not to as it "tastes like piss." There were some dogs inside which were on a lead, but they barked almost constantly and were snarling aggressively towards my dog who had done nothing. I love dogs but these dogs made me nervous. I enjoyed my drink but the atmosphere made us all feel pretty uncomfortable.

Stopped after getting some Chedder strawberry's, the wife had a pint of Lilly's pineapple cider and I had a pint of the North street cider which was a very refreshing pint, this place reminded me of the Broken Spoke in Austin real local and a tad on the quirky side

The pizzas were nice but the the setting is pretty rough. It felt very dirty - I get they are going for the relaxed vibe but it just felt like it needed a good clean.

We were staying in Strawberry Fields Park next door for a week so couldn't resist. Great place even if you don't want to eat. Good range of ciders - my partner liked a rhubarb one and I tried a few variations over a few visits. We also had pizzas which were great tasting and good value. No issues with distancing as there was a semi permanent tent with loads of space to the side. So many signs and nick nacks you could never get bored.

The service here was brilliant, the pizzas were large and delicious and we brought cider home for later - what more could you want?!

We eventually got to the cider barn after many weekends threatening to go there (we camp at Petruth)We were really glad we did. What an afternoon!! We arrived and the music was in full swing.. a mix of oldies and general happy tunes!The staff were friendly and busy with serving and Banging out some lovely pizzas. The Barn its self is an eclectic mix of old and new and has lots of quirkiness in its decor and furnishings. Plenty of Hand sanitizer around and the toilets were adequate with hand wash and loo roll in the ladies. After an afternoon of Half and Half hedgers cider it's safe to say that we wobbled back to the campsite in good spirits!! We even managed to go back on Sunday afternoon for round 2!Keep up the good work guys we will be back soon!!

Every time we have been to the cider barn we have had a great experience, great banter with staff and locals, easy to get to (25 min walk from Petruth Paddock campsite... slightly longer walk on way back .We have always had a good time at the cider barn, laid back and local, love it. They have a great choice of cider (Rhubarb being my fave) to drink in or take away. Not yet managed to see any live entertainment or try the food out but We have recommended this place to everyone we know. We cant wait to visit again Mid September. ❤

Great little place for a drink and good atmosphere. We stopped in here a couple of times while staying at strawberry fields park. The owners are very friendly, we stopped in when they have some live music outside, it was a lovely atmosphere and the cherries and berries cider was delicious, I bought some to take home. Lots of room on the outside seating area to feel covid safe and a one way system to go to the bar. We didn’t eat here, but the pizzas looked good and people seemed to be enjoying them. Nothing fancy, just good wholesome friendly barn. Enjoy

Had the most amazing time at The Cider Barn while on holiday staying at Strawberryfield Park. Despite Covid I was made to feel welcome and safe as social distancing and hand sanitizer became the new norm. Jason and his team were offering a seamless service!!! Smiles and laughter throughout our visit. Adam and his trusted dog Flo made us feel so welcomed whenever we visited . The locals and passing tourists are all treated with the same level of service and respect. The food was superb and very reasonably priced. The locally produced cider is some of the best I have tasted and the double fermented is a must try while in Somerset. We had such an amazing time we are holidaying again next year and I am bringimg friends this November for a short break. Well done guys at making us all feel so welcome and part of the Cider Barm family. We seriously coukd not ask for more.

Lovely quaint little pub/restaurant lots of lovely artwork to suit all taste's on the walls to look at while you relax in the friendly atmosphere with some great music and comfy chairs could stay here for ages. Also best pizza I've ever had, it was gorgeous would definitely recommend coming here

Those that don’t get the Cider Barn are few and far between. There is the odd one but don’t listen to them. This is a place that deserves being called quirky, but for the right reasons. Meticulous in its approach to safety in the weird times we find ourselves in. Yes, they do have ‘COVID Police’. Amazing ciders. Lovely people - staff and locals. Fantastic live music (Wonderwall!) when they can. Easy to spend too much time there.

A real Cider Barn..full of real cider not that sh1t fizzy cr*p kids drink. If you like cider served in a barn then this should be high on your list of to do's....there is great food available and even toilets but who cares when your drinking great cider in a barn...stuff of dreams...enjoy

We walked to the Cider Barn from a campsite about 7 miles down the droves, great walk with great cider at the end. Always find the staff happy and helpful, which is no mean feat in the current situation, particularly with a busy bank holiday. Love the pizzas and love the great cider selection more. Bought some take outs for back at camp and some for friends that weren't with us, but shhhhhh we drank that too! Thanks for always being smiley and friendly, see you again soon.

Having read the many favourable reviews, and their placing at number 1 or 2 of all 69 restaurants in Cheddar, we were expecting something a bit special, perhaps quirky as some reviews say.The reality is that the Cider Barn is just plain tacky. Tables are mainly outside under an awnning and needed a good scrub. The bar area is cramped and rather chaotic.What was bad is NO-ONE was wearing a face mask; NO STAFF who should be setting an example and no customers. Social distancing was cursory at best and impossible in the bar when ordering and paying. This all contravenes Government guidance and puts clientelle at risk. Hand sanitising gell was availble.We both had pizzas as that was the only menu choice during Covid restictions. They were good, and service friendly. The 9" pizzas were not available and the 12" pizzas were too much for us but they offered us boxes to take the rest home.The Food Standards Agency do not have a Hygiene Rating for the Cider Barn. That is not good, the more so given the scruffy appearance of the place.So, overall, this place most certainly does not deserve it's top ranking of Cheddar restaurants. We would not go back and do not recommend it.
