I am a chef of 20 years. This is my opinion.The muscles were outstanding. Pizza outstanding. Calamari and white bate was just unbelievable The Rib eye steak Melted in my mouth. And the peppercorn sauce was nothing like I've ever tasted before. On top of that. The owners will make you feel very welcome.

Lovely Roast beef lunch, very tasty, The beef was very tender and served with Roast potatoes and steamed vegetables, The gravy was delicious. We indulged in a dessert, my wife having her favorite egg Brule and I had the chocolate brownie served with ice cream, The portions were very generous, good value for money. The service was very good too, nothing to fault and we will be definitely going back.

Was unsure about going here as I’m very fussy when it comes to roast dinners. However I decided to give it a go and had the lamb dinner. The meat is cooked to your liking and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. I wasn't keen on the sound of the red wine just as I’d never tried it but it was delicious. Has to be one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever eaten by far. Very good customer service and good prices. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone:)

Lovely friendly pub . My husband, daughter & grandson went here for Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious! I have the roast lamb which was cooked to perfection ! My husband & daughter had a spaghetti Bolognese which they said was the best they had had in a very long time. Our grandson had chicken nuggets again well cooked & tasty ! Coffee & dessert again delicious. We will definitely be back in the future & highly recommended the Harvest Moon for good quality food & friendly people

Went here on Sunday on spec without a booking as a last minute thing for a meal to save cooking. Had a fabulous meal both the starter which was mushrooms and the main a Lamb dinner were delicious and the chef in this place is a brilliant chef highly recommended. The front of house staff give us a lovely warm welcome and excellent service. Will definitely be returning to this gem. Thankyou for a lovely experience.

Went on Christmas Day, The food was awful, and so salty. Inedible. No response after complaint. I'm definitely never going back.

Visited before and everything has always been great. This time it was a family visit, to celebrate the ...matriarch's birthday. 10 of us and every single dish was delicious, including my carbonara! Excellent service too!

We booked the Harvest Moon for our Christmas Day lunch as had been recommended by family who had visited the year before. We were made very welcome and taken to our table. There were 8 of us consisting of 3 couples, my sister and my grandson who is 10. Firstly there was no option of a child's meal, we had to order for an adult which was £69.95 per person for 3 courses. On the whole the food was very good, good portion sizes, however half way through our Christmas lunch we realised there were no roast potatoes on our plates, when we asked the waiter he said the turkey doesn't come with roast potatoes, only the lamb?? We enjoyed our puddings and were brought jager shots on the house. When it was time to pay, one of our family members went up to pay for their meals and drinks to be told they don't split the bill! And the person who had made the booking ( me ) had to pay the total outstanding of £504 on my card ! We were completely gobsmacked and had to spend the next half an hour sat working out who had to pay what, something that could have taken less than 10 minutes if done on the till! Needless to say we didn't leave a service charge and won't be returning.. such a let down to our Christmas Day

Had a lunchtime pizza and it was so full that we had to share, best pizza I’ve had since being in Italy. The staff here are welcoming and friendly. We sat in the bar area which is a little sparse but comfortable. Second visit for drinks but certainly going back for evening meal and taking our friends.

Lunchtime with a walking group of around 10 people, after we all ordered a pint they ran out of beer??, the decor inside the pub is very bland with no atmosphere in the bar, but"the bar staff were extremely friendly and chatte the menu looked interesting we all ordered our food, surprise surprise when it arrived after a short wait it was absolutely magnificent well above average pub grub, everyone of Us was very complimentary on what we had to eat I would say the food is 5 star at a very reasonable price, so can't rate the food highly enough but I think they need an interior designer so the decor is as good as the food then they will be on to a winner.

Excellent value for money, freshly cooked food, no microwave cooked meals here. From the bar you can see into the kitchen and see your food being prepared. The landlord and all of the staff are very friendly and helpfull. The steaks are really good and the Gammon huge and also good range of specials and desserts. Been here loads of times for meals and never ever been let down. Now under new management, food apparrently still good. However, service at the bar tonight was a HUGE LET DOWN. 5 at the bar waiting to be served, but a local that had just walked through the door was served first. Felt unwanted as a skittle player after that.. Hence the drop in ratings.

It doesn't look inspiring from the outside, but the roast dinner is amazing! We both had roast lamb which was in a rich red wine gravy and was delicious. Plenty of veg, potatoes and a huge Yorkshire pudding came with it. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was rich and dark and not overly sweet at all. My only issue is it came on a plate with a tiny amount of custard and ice cream, I would have preferred a load of custard. Hubby had the oreo cheesecake which was nice but not a patch on the sticky toffee! Definitely recommend for a roast!

Dropped in on a sunday afternoon around 4pm after a walk with our dog along the canal. Very welcoming staff and excellent menu. I had the roast beef and wife had salmon.. both were excellent. We both had puddings too... chocolate brownie and tiramisu..beautiful presentation and delicious too. We were so impressed we went back on Tuesday night for more.... meat feast pizza and mushroom risotto with garlic bread (massive)... again both very tasty. Can't recommend enough and pricesalso very good... will be back again soon!!!!

We came here as we were on a stop over at a near by camp site before travelling to Devon. The staff are extremely friendly. Very good service and the food is excellent. I had the saganaki, one had sunaka, and skewers Would definitely recommend

Had the lamb roast today while visiting with family for a 60th birthday. The lamb was so well cooked and absolutely stunning with the gravy. Easily the best lamb I have eaten when dining out!

Excellent meal and friendly staff

Have been here many times, so this is well overdue. The food here isn't just pub grub, it's at a far higher level and at pub grub prices. The service is always good. Always seem to find you a table at short notice, so it's good for an off the cuff night out. I can recommend the chicken and mushrooms. Awesome!

Amazing food and fantastic service, we would highly recommend this place. We were travelling from Pembrokeshire to Exeter on our holiday travels and were looking for a pub overnight stop over, where you usually buy food for the pleasure of a space in the car park overnight. We stumbled across this lovely place and were made so welcome. If we lived closer, this would be our local eatery, thank you so much.

Forgot to get a picture of the tiramisu, luckily the portion is so large I managed to get the rest of it! Lovely seating outside. Inside the restaurant is bliss. The bar area is tarted up and is acceptable, especially with TV to watch sports. Great selection of different drinks compared to most places. Bar lady was very polite and interested in our holiday. Both waiters were very attentive and professional. Food was well received especially with picky children. Toilets were clean. Free internet. I've seen a negative review of this place so was a bit concerned. However after eating here I'm more confused and believe the negative review must be for another pub.

After a horrific day travelling we stumbled across a campsite nearby who recommended the pub. A short walk brought us to it. We were delighted with the variety of food available especially with fussy children with us. We were served by the friendliest of staff who even had time for a chat with us at the end of our meal. The food arrived swiftly and piping hot! The pizzas were huge but not a problem as the leftovers were boxed up for us to enjoy later. Overall an awful day was turned around by the good food and friendlies of the Harvest Moon. Thank you

I found that place on my way back home from family holiday. The staff was very friendly and the environment was awesome. But when they give us the food which we choose the magic happens... absolutely amazing taste on everything! Such a great finish for my holiday ☺️ We will come back one day to try that lovely food! The service was very good. Every was clean and tidy. Friendly staff. The food was very good. The only thing I would of wanted is on the plate with the meat pie my partner had and the rack of lamb his parents had would be vegetables as alot of meat cooked very well but to much but no greens or carrots. Yes some potatoe which was lovely to but a bowl of vegetables to share would of been nice to have. Part from that everything was great. A lovely place to go and eat.

What a great find. Very warm welcome when we arrived. The menu is quite extensive so a lot to choose from. I ordered the Belly pork and hubby had the beef medallions. Both were superb and very good portions served on hot plates. (The chefs were scillian and Italian so an Italian slant on the food.) We were fancying a desert but had no room left. The tiramisu sounded amazing. We will definitely be back!

We went today and was greated by a chap called alonso. We have steak pie and pork dinner followed by cheesecake. The lamb shank looked absolutely amazing. Fantastic front of house and food

An interesting place. To say the least on the day it was OK, but it could do better, the front is done out nice but the gents need a bit of attention the pie was overcooked and caused me issues with indigestion later in the day. The ale is not kept well as the owners do not how to keep it.

Greeted by very pleasant young lady, only other people there was an older couple, Two of us had starter- my husband had the ribs and I ordered deep fried fish/courgette and tartate sauce. No courgette! The fish, particularly, ,the whitebait, looked frozen and were covered in an orange commercial breadcrumb. One mouthful of another non descript piece of fish tasted off and so much of the starter was left- cost £8.50 ! Mentioned this to girl serving but got no feedback. Main course lasagna palatable but with cheddar cheese topping; burger partially burnt;chicken pasta dish palatable. Food served looked nothing like images on website and was colourless.Overall the description of food on the menu sounds delicious but the reality of what is seved is another story. After this experience we thought perhaps we would have been better off eating from the chalk-up menu- I imagine this would be freshly cooked to order which was reflected in the price.

Recommended to us by the Newton Brook Camp site, which is a cracking little site. Extremely welcoming, dog friendly and attentive staff. Alonso made us all feel very well looked after. The food was excellent and incredible value for money. Set Sunday Roast was fab and so well presented. I don't usually post photos but will make an exception here. Yes, the calzone was THAT big. Will definitely be returning here. Lovely little village pub with friendly atmosphere.

Well that was a pleasant surprise, we were looking for somewhere around Taunton or Bridgwater to celebrate a birthday and decided to try a nearby pub which we haven't been to for a few years. Had a wonderful dinner (starters and mains) for a reasonable price. Great service, tasty food, fine selection and quiet dining room with a lovely atmosphere. It doesn't look much from the outside but that's deceiving so don't be put off you wont be disappointed.

Stayed one night in Campervan on route to Dorset. Host was lovely..no charge & had nice meal & drink in restaurant Busy till 11.30 but car park quiet & safe. Would visit again.

All of us enjoyed the tasty food on offer and the attentive service. Unfortunately since then we have moved house to Honiton but will visit this place when up this way.

The staff were very welcoming, and the food was lovely . All meals were served close together ,so no waiting for the last meals to arrive . Would recommend it . The only thing l would perhaps of preferred ,was that the gravy was served along side the meal ,but was very flavoursome .

We visited The Harvest Moon for lunch whilst away for a short break. The building & outside is rather off putting but the food & service were both amazing. The Maitre D was professional,polite & his attention to detail & presence exemplary…. The waitresses were attentive (but not overly so) & pleasant. The food choices were very good inc specials such as Duck confit ,Sea Bream & calamari . The food was very good & beautifully presented.

We went yesterday evening for a very good mainly Italian themed dinner, four adults and one teenager. This little village near the canal is.where the Harvest Moon is situated, doesn't look much from the outside but both large separate bar and good sized restaurant are modern and decorative. There is a standard menu as well as a specials board which showed 6 starters, 8 mains and 6 deserts. We just had mains and puds but all sounded delicious. Good choice of pasta and pizzas, as well as steak, chicken, lamb and fish diches. We ate in the restaurant, the good portioned meals were excellent , well cooked to our liking and left us all extremely satisfied and still taking about the food the following morning. Prices were moderate and with drinks for.the 5 of us thought £120 was excellent value. Very highly recommended.

Lucky enough to have this as my local. Food is good, bar and restaurant staff great and dog friendly. Atmosphere is brilliant, whether a drink, dinner or new years eve party, it is always a cosy, warm, welcoming experience

All you need is great food, generous portions, and good service. A chance find on Tripavisor after the normal venue was fully booked. This hidden gem is well worth a visit. As my visit was for Sunday lunch, I took advantage of their two course offer. I chose the Calamari, which tasted wonderful and both tender and crispy. For my main, I went for the roast beef with all the trimmings. It was tasty, delicious, and a very generous portion. I am sure I will return and hopefully explore more of the extensive menu.
