A great location. But Expensive! The most expensive bar in Ilfracombe that we visited. A big hotel/bar. The locals have a discount card for cheaper drinks, so when we visited mid week, we felt a little cheated over the prices, especially when the bars are dead on a September evening. The locals are friendly, but you can feel that you aren't part of the gang when visiting in the evening. We didn't try the food.

If you want great food, good service and a decent drink you really should visit this gem of a pub. Paul and his staff are super friendly and go above and beyond to cater to your needs! The food is excellent, Paul (the owner) does most of the cooking and he is a superb chef! We have been visiting this establishment for many years now and we are always greeted as friends. Cannot recommend The Thatched Inn enough!!

Nice little village pub, great food, and portion sizes. Clean decor, good seating areas in the restaurant.

This pub is a gem, on a five day holiday we found ourselves here on varying occasions; with the kids, without the kids, just drinks and main evening meal and it came up trumps every time. All the staff we met were friendly and professional, the food was tasty, well priced and looked great, and the overall atmosphere is brilliant. We cannot recommend this pub highly enough.

Great pub and restaurant unfortunately not serving Sunday lunch. Restaurant section was closed on our visit. The excellent food and facilities are way ahead of the floor staff and table service. On our visit, the bar was excessively noisy with rowdy locals.

Had a really super meal last Sunday. We were here on holiday but if local would come back every week! Nice children’s playground outside, crayons and colouring packs. Our dog was welcome and blankets provided for them to sit on. We had a carvery and it was one do the best I’ve been too. Really lovely variety of vegetables done well. Beautiful meats and very generous serving. Pavlo the chef I think it was and Michelle made us feel welcome and they were so friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We have been here a few times. As a family, we needed an honest pub, good food, great and honest hospitality and a place to breathe. Steve, Claire and their regulars gave all of the above. Cottage pie and the accompanying sides were perfect. Wine: perfect. Real ale on tap “ flat, warm, delicious” and that is a rave review from an old Londoner. We were left alone yet blagged some rollies from the landlord. Who wanted nothing in return. Thank you for making a terrible time much better for a few hours xxx

Crap, manager standing at tables giving away shots to girls while doing nothing while the staff work their arses off. Seen it a few times now, seen managers make staff cry, the way they talk to their staff is gross, needs looking at seriously. Go to the panniers, new management and way better

We visited the red barn on our first night of a 7-day break! The restaurant is clean, staff are really friendly and the food was good. We often visited for a drink during our stay and the atmosphere was always really good! Great location and worth a visit!

This hotel is in a great setting with extensive gardens, ideal for wedding receptions. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The choice of food was good, not too big a menu that you can’t decide. Food was well cooked and presentable, the restaurant is a large conservatory where you can look out onto the gardens. Finally, the staff were always very attentive, helpful and friendly, ensuring all customers had a great experience. We would definitely return without hesitation.
