This is a very sad place. It felt like it was on its last legs. There were no beers on tap and at the time of the visit (during the Euros) the televisions, guests were advised, were not working. Not somewhere I would rush back to not recommend.

Nothing to get over excited about. It's just a good old fashioned local pub serving a reasonable selection of Beers, Wines & Spirits, including Welsh Whisky!! Prices are very reasonable when considering Lynton is a Tourists Honey Trap. Could be even better if they served food, whilst we were in there in excess of 9 people came in and asked if food was being served. Nevertheless despite not serving food is good for a Pint or Two.

Nipped in for a quick pint while holidaying in Lynton over Easter. Pub was empty just before dinner time on a Wednesday except for a local at the bar. Landlady wasn't particularly welcoming and moaned about the cost of me paying by contactless. Pub is pretty run down and needs either a steam cleaning or a refurb. No chef currently but I wouldn't risk eating there if there was. Pint of Tribute was cloudy and full of floaters. Avoid.

Came here for a pint, lovely winter atmosphere. There was no chef so they didn't serve food on this occasion. Could do with a better selection of lagers but nevertheless still a good variety of ales. Would come again!

Men’s toilet was poor, seat loose, flush faulty, no toilet brush, cheap toilet paper. No hand towels. Had two cask ales, tasted nice but didn’t hold the head due to glass issues, they either need replacing, refreshing or check the dishwasher rinse is doing it’s job. On the plus side good service and clean.

Called in every night whilst on holiday. Not disappointed. I’d recommend the drought beer ( Exmoor) which was just as good bottled. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Reasonable prices. Pool in the rear popular with the locals, and music too. Didn’t appreciate it when the tv was tuned on loudly as well! What’s the thinking in that!

We popped in for a large wine and cuppa. We were told sarcastically ‘we’re a pub not a cafe’. At which point wine was being poured from a miniature bottle into a glass and we were not offered an alternative to tea. Disappointing. Would not recommend. Rude staff. Disappointing collection. I popped in for a pint having spent the day at the Classic Car Show. I asked if I could pay with a £20 note, knowing that some pubs don’t take cash anymore. What I got in reply from presumably the Landlord/manager, was sarcastic comments about how “we’ve never seen a £20 note in the West Country before” (I’m from Ilfracombe, half an hours drive away.) With his thick cockney accent, I wonder what part of the West Country he’s from?! He then short changed me and joked about putting the pound in the tips jar. He might have been ‘showing off’ to a couple of locals sat at the bar but having worked in hospitality myself, his attitude stank! There is a reason his pub was empty on what should have been the busiest day of the year for him. Don’t bother, there are far more welcoming pubs down the hill in Lynmouth.

Great value, nice atmosphere and good facilities. But the drinks choice and service was poor. Hot drinks machine not working, soft drinks pump not working, and not taking card but selectively allowing customers to pay on card. We popped into The Queens for a drink and found the atmosphere quite unfriendly. The selection of drinks was limited including the choice of wine. The bar man in particular was most unhelpful and rude when we ordered drinks. When asked what type of wine was being offered he replied - “do you want it or not - this is the West Country!” We left soon after as did a large table of people who heard the rude barman and did not even order a drink.

Horrendous reception. The miserable bar man shouted "MASK!" at us once we opened the door. Even though it is not a legal requirement to wear one we would have put our masks on if he'd asked politely. We simply turnt around and found another pub called the Crown which had a great bar and extremely polite staff. My friend called earlier in the day to ask if we needed to book a table at the Queens and received a rude and blunt reply of "for what? It's a shame that establishments like this can continue operating without an ounce of customer service and politeness, places like this don't deserve to carry on when so many gold businesses have had to closed die to covid issues.

We went on a Saturday which is one of the three Tandori nights they host. The food was excellent, hot and plentiful. The quality of the meat was excellent. Choice was limited but that didn’t matter, we all found something we liked on the menu. All in all this was a great find, we would all recommend it. We have another table booked for tonight. Sunday Carvery "from £17.00"! Consisted of two 4" square slices of turkey, yorkshire pudding, overcooked 1" stuffing ball, fried potato cubes, carrots, red cabbage, something that looked like beans, green beans, cauliflower cheese, burnt on the outside and raw in the middle roast parsnips, roast potatoes, watery gravy. Our friends paid more for 3-meat carvery (turkey gammon beef) when we arrived at the carvery the server said no more beef! How can this be called a 3-meat carvery? The one lucky friend who had the entrails of a joint of beef said it was all fat! Restaurant laid out like a cafeteria with dogs wandering through while we were eating. Hence would not recommend this pub restaurant - a let down for this quaint seaside village. The other pubs in the village serve excellent food so don't waste your hard earned money at The Manor House.
