Whilst on holiday in croyde we decided at last minute to try the Manor House Inn. They accommodated us without a reservation as a table of 5. Staff was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and plentiful. My daughter who is 6 had a under 5s pasta which was good decision bot too get over 5 portion as it was plentiful. The duck special was very flavoursome and priced very reasonable. My parents had the pie and was very well filled with proper big chunks of beef with fresh veg and new potatoes. My partner had the gammon which was very tasty and filling. Over all i would recommend this place to anyone. The food, drinks, staff and service was excellent and would definitely would return when in the area again.

We visited Ona Friday late afternoon and there was a lovely atmosphere with families and dogs welcome. We stayed for food and can wholeheartedly recommend a look at the specials board as I had the pork belly and was not disappointed! We had such a great time at The Manor House Inn and for us it was the service given by Harry! He was friendly and joined in with our humour, gave recommendations and made our time there great!! We've come to Croyde about 4 times a year for the last 8 years and never been to this country pub - not anymore it's a gem of a place. Arrived it was super super busy ( football was on) but no problem added to the atmosphere of a classic British pub. Staff were great, very friendly- they were a bit run off their feet so a bit of waiting for drinks, bill etc but no biggy - we're on holiday, and I think people expect instant finger clicking service need to go somewhere less busy. We ordered the 3 meat carvery / beef, Turkey and gammon - with a Yorkshire and a stuffing ball you could then help yourself to all nine veg! Carrots, parsnips, two types of potatoes, broccoli, cheesy cauliflower, green beans, red cabbage, swede. Now everyone has a preference on how the veg is cooked but I thought it was all spot on - and most important all hot. Regularly topped up. My only minor complaint would be the gravy it was a little runny but still tasty- it just meant my hubby spilled it every where ! You could even get a little pot and take your own. All in all a cracking Sunday lunch for £18 and we didn't need to eat the rest of the day ! Didn't have a pudding but they looked immense. Instead we had a captains espresso martini 🍸 OMG - rum rather than vodka game changer. We'll be back.

Went as two family group and had visited before. Service much slower this time and also our favourite otter ale (on the menu) was not available and the replacement option not so nice. Food fine when arrived though felt a bit put out on the whitebait starter as it was plumped up with salad in a bowl which disappointed as not many white bait there!. Overall it was good but overpriced for the experience but I guess you have to factor in you have limited options for quality food catering across all ages in families. Will read the reviews before next visit and phone ahead prior to going. Staff did their best in the circumstances and that helped the score for the visit.

Sunday Carvery "from £17.00"! Consisted of two 4" square slices of turkey, yorkshire pudding, overcooked 1" stuffing ball, fried potato cubes, carrots, red cabbage, something that looked like beans, green beans, cauliflower cheese, burnt on the outside and raw in the middle roast parsnips, roast potatoes, watery gravy. Our friends paid more for 3-meat carvery (turkey gammon beef) when we arrived at the carvery the server said no more beef! How can this be called a 3-meat carvery? The one lucky friend who had the entrails of a joint of beef said it was all fat! Restaurant laid out like a cafeteria with dogs wandering through while we were eating. Hence would not recommend this pub restaurant - a let down for this quaint seaside village. The other pubs in the village serve excellent food so don't waste your hard earned money at The Manor House.

Had such a nice last meal here on our stay in Croyde! The food was cooked to perfection and the portions were huge! I was very grateful as they did me a fish finger ciabatta even though it was past 4pm and this wasn’t a problem so I was appreciative of that. The banoffee pie for dessert was also unreal and perhaps the best one I’ve ever had! The atmosphere was nice and oldie-worldie and service was fast and efficient. They did forget to bring out my friends skinny fries that she ordered as a side but to be honest when she saw the size of her nachos she was glad that they didn’t bring them out! They were added to the bill but this was all quickly rectified. Overall a great inn for food, I would recommend to people,

2nd meal here in 3 days as we loved it so much. Great food: pies are amazing and veg cooked perfectly - no soggy kale or wilting carrots in sight which is a common thing in lots of places. Puddings to die for, as well. Staff great and attentive, too. We will definitely be coming here next time we're on holiday in Croyde.

It’s a nice pub , with very attentive staff but the food was in my opinion very basic and a bit school dinners in quality. . The veg was obviously from a “value “ catering pack the pie was not great and a bit dry but the new potatoes were ok. If you want a basic meal you’ll be happy but don’t bother if you expect a nice meal for an occasion.

That still makes me laugh and told me she would tell chef but still took my money , it was that bad I went to have it taken off my plate but the server was nowhere with the rest of my meal getting cold i let it go .

Were taken to our table and pressured into ordering drinks before sitting down and taking coats off. Table was situated next to front door, which was constantly open due to people also waiting ages to be seated. Starters were very pleasant however main course was Extremely poor, tiny over cooked burger with dry bun, horrible soggy chips. Dogs are welcome into restaurant which personally I feel is terrible, the dog next to our table stunk and really ruined the meal for me as that's all I could smell. You are charging gourmet pub prices and trying to act like a northern working man's club. I feel this place would heavily benefit from a change in management.

Well, here we are a year on and we are back again for our annual holiday and visit. We have been coming to The Manor since the 1970’s. The pub is lovely, and thankfully there were no dogs inside, which is a good thing. Looking at the menu, the meals are very expensive, but we didn’t eat. There was a drinks menu of varying prices, but Guinness and Heineken at £5.80 a pint was extortionate. The pub was quiet and perhaps these prices are putting people off. The pool table has gone, which is a shame as we always had a game in there. This is such a good pub, but really needs the prices dropping to get the punters in.

My party of eight have just endured one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had, simply awful food from start to finish. The fact that everything is so expensive only adds to the bitter taste left in our mouths. After being greeted by rude, sullen staff we ordered starters to share - cheesy garlic bread (£4.85) was a ciabatta roll quartered, sprinkled with bland cheese and wafted under a grill for seconds, Calamari £9.00 for 4 small rings, inedible chicken wings, revoltingly soft and slimy. Everything was from frozen as the dishes appeared two minutes after being ordered. The mains were no better: The "Gourmet" burger (£15) was simply a dollop of undercooked mince topped with burnt bacon and watery sauce on a dry bun; the smoked salmon fishcakes (£15) were all potato and bland to the point of tasteless; chips soggy and uncooked; the buttermilk chicken burger (£15) had never seen buttermilk in it's life and was microscopic in size, again watery sauce, dry bun, limp lettuce; and my nephew whose favourite food is simple pesto pasta wouldn't eat the the pesto pasta served to him here as 'it doesn't taste nice.'The teenage staff clearly couldn't care less, and the senior staff member who asked us if everything was okay with our food clearly didn't want to hear how bad we thought it was, assuring us that they never get complaints. I take no pleasure whatsoever from leaving this review, and in fairness, the one risotto ordered was decent, but then you can't freeze a risotto and it has to be prepared freshly.Honestly, if you're looking to eat a half decent meal in Croyde then AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. This was NOT an off night, it's a business simply looking to rip its customers off. If on the other hand you want to pay through the nose for a dinner sourced in Iceland, prepared with no care and pay quality gastro pub prices, then you'll be very happy. It really was the absolute pits.

Shocking service being left waiting at the door for over 15mins whilst 3 members of staff saw us and proceeded to ignore us. (Even though we had a reservation) Not even an acknowledgement of "we'll be with you shortly". When one of our group went over to the bar to say we were waiting (along with more customers behind us) the response was "yes, we know you're there!". We ordered food which included 1 starter. When three main meals were delivered and we queried where the starter was, we were told you didn't order one! Shocking! So as not to have the rest of the food go cold we told them not to worry about the starter, but had no apology for their error. Food was really poor. Only 1 of our group liked their main out of the 4 of us. And the steak was dreadful and cooked within an itch of its life even though we asked for medium. We couldn't wait to leave!

Croyde was busier than a usual September this year, due to Covid and more people holidaying in the UK. On a rainy Saturday night we feared we might not find anywhere to eat but the Manor House Inn managed to fit us in. Covid has really affected local recruitment for staff this year so they had a board outside asking for patience if service was a little slower than usual. In spite of this the service was perfectly reasonable, really friendly and efficient and the food arrived without much of a wait after ordering. And when the food came it was well presented, good portions and, most importantly, delicious. We had such a relaxed evening we returned on the Sunday night rather than bother to see if we could find anywhere else. We had a good bottle of Malbec the first night and some nice local ale the second night. The food was really good both nights and we left feeling stuffed and well satiated. This is really good pub food and a great friendly and welcoming local business that deserves support.

We had heard great things about this pub. Perhaps they were having a bad night but unfortunately it was our first visit. The food wasn’t great , the service could have been friendlier . We have eaten out in many places in the area but this sadly was the worst. It has been a long season and a tough one but this just didn’t make the mark for us tonight. The cost didn’t reflect how good it should have been. I wish you well for the rest of the season.

Friendly, attentive staff, plenty of good indoor and outdoor space. Service was excellent, quick and good, must have been a good day by the look of all the bad reviews on Tripadvisor?. We sat outside, under covered area, in shade as a hot day. Tables well clean and spaced out. We had olives and garlic bread starter and steak with optional onion rings and blue cheese sauce. The garlic bread was soft with a bit of crunch with plenty of garlic and butter. Lovely olives. The medium rare steaks were melt in the mouth, the best steaks weve eaten to date! The chips were crunchy on outside with fluffy potato on inside and not too oily. Lovely fresh large grilled tomato and 1/2 a field mushroom (maybe half a mushrooms a bit mean). Large onion rings with just right amount of airy batter.(I didnt actually order the onion rings just hubby but they were on my plate as well so I gave them to him. I wasnt worried by this mistake so didnt mention to staff. Maybe a notepad to write orders on rather than by memory might be a good idea?) Lovely creamy blue cheese sauce. Prices a tiny bit more than average. Would still recommend!

During our short break in Croyde Bay we were lucky enough to get a table here. We weren’t disappointed. A family owned/run Inn with a fantastic selection of food and drinks. The service was faultless, thank you! Highly recommended.

We visited the red barn on our first night of a 7-day break! The restaurant is clean, staff are really friendly and the food was good. We often visited for a drink during our stay and the atmosphere was always really good! Great location and worth a visit!

Crap, manager standing at tables giving away shots to girls while doing nothing while the staff work their arses off. Seen it a few times now, seen managers make staff cry, the way they talk to their staff is gross, needs looking at seriously. Go to the panniers, new management and way better

Had a really super meal last Sunday. We were here on holiday but if local would come back every week! Nice children’s playground outside, crayons and colouring packs. Our dog was welcome and blankets provided for them to sit on. We had a carvery and it was one do the best I’ve been too. Really lovely variety of vegetables done well. Beautiful meats and very generous serving. Pavlo the chef I think it was and Michelle made us feel welcome and they were so friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
