Staff were extremely rude and refused to allow my elderly mum aged 96 through to the toilets via the restaurant area insisting we all walked around and went outside. Also think the distance to the restaurant is too far now they have blocked up the original door that we used to be able to access as disabled access. Have been stopping off there for years on our way to Sidmouth in May of every year. Will never return now. Need to review its accessibility access and train staff in how to support elderly people. A very unhappy ex customer.

What a fabulous pub. The manager, Michelle, was so welcoming and friendly, the bar staff, Polly?, was really helpful and fun. I came back because the last time I had the best mussels and fish and chips since coming back to the uk. The mussels were again, absolutely delicious… and fat…. Who doesn’t love a fat mussel! Great value, lovely ambiance and fantastic staff. Thank you

We ordered 2 sandwiches and it took over 40 mins to arrive. I went to the bar after 30 mins and asked how long our food would be. The bartender went to the kitchen and then returned to say our food was being plated then. Despite that it took another 10 mins to arrive with no apology for the delay.

Keepers Cottage never fails to impress, especially when it comes to comfort food. Their steak and ale pie is a standout—packed with tender meat, rich gravy, and a perfectly flaky crust. The portions are always generous, and the sides are just as satisfying. It’s a place that consistently delivers on flavour, making it easy to see why it was such a favourite of mine when I lived nearby. Definitely a spot worth revisiting!

This pub is very attractive in a beautiful location with a landlord (Mark) who is the epitome of what a landlord should be. Very welcoming & making you feel special. His beers are very well kept & our food was outstanding. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit & have already arranged to return. If I had to mention the very slightest of a negative observation it would be that the onion rings were more batter than onion but I really am being a little bit petty. I cannot recommend this pub strongly enough to anyone passing this area of Devon. Well done Mark & thank-you for your hospitality.

What a lovely village pub with a beautiful beer garden. I live reasonably local and wanted to treat a friend to lunch within walking distance so thought I’d try this out. I must admit after reading some of the previous comments I was a little apprehensive but I needn’t have been. The lady behind the bar was lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the food was scrumptious 😋 my friend enjoyed the haddock and mozzarella fish cakes and I had the very tasty goats cheese and fig parcels. We were very lucky with the weather and sat out in the beer garden with amazing views and the area was so well kept. I would definitely recommend this lovely pub and am looking forward to visiting again very soon.

Found here on a magical mystery drive round the lanes of Devon. Stopped for a bite to eat and drinks the food was lovely nice to see they offered devon red zero cider. Realkt refreshing. The mill also offers lots of things to buy from toys to home furnishing. You can see the mill workings on different levels worth a visit
