Very poor quality food, wish i hadn't paid for meals prior to eating, as certainly wouldn't have paid half of total bill. Snugg area to eat needs a good clean, as dust and cobwebs everywhere and stinks of dogs. Toilets are atrocious looking and smelling

Lovely clean pub with great choice on the menu and my wife had a child’s portion while I had the pub burger. Great food and good atmosphere and most importantly of all lovely attentive staff Thank you for making us feel welcome 👍

Been going to this pub , our local since 1997. We went on Friday night and I have to say I was gobsmacked in the bad attitude we received from a female member of staff. The rudeness was unbelievable . We were told there was one table available, then the menus were thrown at us. Another couple came in asking the same. They were treated totally different by the female member of staff. We sat down , they sat down after us. The female member of staff walked right past us and took the order of the other couple. After another 10 mins she turned with a foul look and said do you want to order. We chose to leave and went to another pub. We will never visit this pub again.

All three of us thought our meals were brilliant. Really tasty and plenty to eat. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere was also relaxing and a very clean establishment. We can't wait to return for another meal and would highly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Food was delicious. We arrived at 7 pm where we ordered our drinks and sat down. However, nobody came to our table so we could order food until gone 7:40. When we ordered we were told that there was no pie which we should have been told to start of with. We received our starter at 8:15 after asking twice where it was. They very speedily took our starter plates before one on our table had finished his mouthful. At 8:30- an hour after we had ordered, we were told there was no ham available so we had to choose something else. This happened to multiple tables who also arrived at the same time. After asking again where our main was one dish came out and was given to someone on our table. However apparently it wasn’t our dish and so they took it away without saying a word and gave it to another table !! That is a food hygiene hazard and should not have been done, another dish should have been bought out for the intended person. We eventually received our food about 9 pm. The food was lovely ! They apologised for the wait and paid for our drinks however multiple tables were in the same situation and they were clearly over booked for the amount of kitchen staff they had. Also we were given solid wooden chairs with no cushions on which after sitting on for about an hour became very uncomfortable so I had to take cushions from another table. Overall the food was delicious but the wait time was shocking and there were multiple tables in the same situation.

We should have been a threesome, but the friend we had booked in to join us, had to stay at his care home for a doctor, we later discovered, never turned up. Nothing is like it was ! Anyway, they'll be a next time, because this pub is as nice and welcoming inside, as it is picture-postcard outside. But don't go into Kentisbeare to find it - that was a complete waste of time - The Keepers Cottage is on the main road and, there is plenty of parking space. Oh, for a decent sat-nav. Our lunch of prawns and cured salmon on a bed of lettuce was amazing and, with ample bread and butter, left us more than replete ! Don't miss it, if yu are in the area.

Was ok.. they were hosting a party in marquee outside so staff abit busy.

Not sure of his name but the lovely man behind the bar was really kind and accommodating, food was quick and tasty.

Very lucky to get a table for 4 today for Sun carvery. We were staying nearby @ Forest Glade Hol Park. Food was A1,cooked to perfection,top quality & fresh. Staff were extremely friendly & welcoming. We would without a doubt go again. Thank you everyone!

What a fabulous pub we went here two nights running whilst on holiday at Goodiford mill lakes - the tenderloin of pork was lovely - great service

Great place to stop for lunch. En route to our annual visit to The Pig at Combe. Superb pub grub - part of the enjoyment of our mini break.

We stopped here on our way to our holiday destination. 4 adults and one dog. We were given a warm welcome and our dog was allowed inside. Our main courses and puddings were amazing, so tasty, well presented and good portions and great value for money. All the staff were very polite too. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because as someone else has previously mentioned the toilets do need updating and because they are so old you get the impression they can’t be cleaned well, even though they probably are. Would definitely return here again, hopefully on our way home from our holiday

We had a lovely meal here and the food is clearly all home made. Gorgeous building from the outside and very quaint on the inside. Highly recommend (but book if want to eat as clearly popular). If in area again we shall return.

Staff You are amazing specially chrissy, Toilets do need updating tho, as do some of the seat, would be nice if they had some covered seating outside as in Devon and it rains a lot.

Lovely place, food always cooked well and hot and not very long to wait staff are friendly. Maybe an idea if your going to book ahead .

We popped in on the off chance that we could get some food and, despite it being officially past last orders for food on a Sunday lunchtime, they pulled out all the stops for us and we had the most delicious roast beef and roast pork dishes! We were really happy that we took the chance and will most definitely be back! Thanks to everyone for your helping two weary travellers in their hour of need! 10/10!

Stopped off for lunch with friends, as we passed through. Lovely pub with a great welcome. Wide choice on the menu to suit all tastes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cost was very reasonable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely little pub. We arrived on a Friday evening and despite not having booked we were found a table and made to feel welcome. Service was fast and friendly. The food was hot and tasty with generous portion sizes. The cost was very reasonable. Our only regret was not finding this place earlier in our holiday.

On the weekend before Christmas you expect busy, you expect food taking a bit longer to come out but you don't necessarily expect the most cheerful and wonderful team of front of house staff to be there making your day! Great food, generous portions but exceptional staff. Well done and a well deserved Happy Christmas from us!

Nice place ,but if they are going to hung glasses over the bar they could be cleaner

Lovely little pub/restaurant, we went there for a roast dinner. The food was really good, and they had gluten free options. Great selection of puddings too. Service was slow but that was only because it was so busy, obviously a very popular place to go!!

I would love to see them upgrade the cloakroom facilities to match the otherwise first class establishment.

On our way for a 3 night break at The Pig, near Honiton. Never quite know what to expect at a pub for a quick lunch. Absolutely delighted we stopped here.

Thank you for accommodating us for an extended, family lunch last week. Such a comprehensive menu, all freshly prepared, generous and attractively presented. The puddings were amazing….. each and every one- the same went for the smiling staff! A gem found in the middle of nowhere! 🏡

Stopped in here on the way back from a gymnastics competition. Atmosphere really good. Food good quality (especially the Dauphinoise potatoes). Staff very friendly and very helpful. Does get busy so book ahead if you can.

We were staying nearby and decided to try this pub as the reviews looked good. So glad we did ! Lovely menu with a good selection of delicious home cooked food , we found it so good we went there for four of our 7 nights! Disappointed. Booked a table for 5 adults on Friday evening for Sunday 17th September 2023 at 2pm and received phone call Saturday 16th September 2023 afternoon cancelling our booking because they had taken a booking for 30 guests at the same time as our booking. We couldn’t get an alternative booking at such short notice.

Came here for a quick lunchtime pit stop. Felt like a good boozer with fair prices. Plenty of people eating what looked like good portions.

Nice friendly staff. Small interior so worth booking during peak season to ensure you have a table. Starter was a lot which made it hard finish our mains which were sticky BBQ pork chop and Chicken with leak and bacon sauce. That said the food was cooked well and tasted good. Good value for money.

Excellent food and friendly good service. We went for a birthday meal with friends and were made very welcome as usual.

What can I say? We went as a table of 11! It was okay! We ordered at 745 and food arrived at 9! No apology for the delay on food! And when staff walked past they put their head down. If they had of warned at the point of order there will be a delay. That would have been fine. We would have had starters to make the wait seem less. But when food did arrive there was no apology for the wait. We couldn’t complain at the portion size. It was perfect. Food was okay. everything was served hot! I had a steak asked for rare. It was medium. But by that point we had waited for so long, that we weren’t prepared to wait any longer. Would we rush back as a party? Nope! Staff were overall friendly and welcoming! The wait on food just really let it down

We found this pretty pub on death road. Cute thatch roof, pretty floral garden. Staff were reasonably friendly but the service was very slow and slap dash. The food itself wasn’t too bad. Very generous when it comes to portion size but it was quite expensive and the menu’s felt a bit thrown together. Had to eat outside due to lack of inside tables all of which were reserved. The bench that I sat on collapsed so could have been disastrous but it was fine, I was okay.

Good pub food , friendly atmosphere, would advise to book as can get very busy. Definitely return when back in the area.

It was our first visit for my husband's birthday. Absolutely wonderful food and drink. Enjoyed everything about it.

A last minute booking for Easter Sunday which turned out to be the best meal out in ages! The roasts were beyond excellent, beautifully presented and full platefuls, even before the veggie dishes arrived! Everything was perfectly cooked, tasty and delicious. We wish it was our ‘local’ but we were on holiday! The staff were totally on the ball, young and vibrant, polite and attentive. The Inn itself has character and charm, a bonus being that we were able to take our fur baby in with us as she’s not great at being left in the the car! Shout out to the lass who bothered to notice our original short notice booking email on the offchance and reacted to it! Thank you!

Had been meaning to give this lovely pub a try for sometime but never managed to get there. So glad we did. Went with family visiting Devon. Took our 2 dogs and booked a table in the bustling bar. Menu not massive but a few extras on the specials board. Portions are huge so if you don’t have a big appetite may not need starters. Garlic prawns excellent with lovely fresh granary bread. Salmon fillet as a main which was again a large portion but beautifully cooked. Burger excellent and also gammon, egg & chips. Superb value & we will be back.

This is a cracking pub. We had drinks and dinner there on the the last Tuesday in January. The beer was great, the food was excellent, and the staff friendly. No wonder it was quite busy, so I would recommend booking a table.

Best food I’ve had in a pub in years! My friend and I booked a table for a Tuesday evening. Friendly staff, food was just so good, big portions, fresh vegetables, and excellent varied choices on the menu. Such good value for money, and meals were good old fashioned pub grub. Log burner was lit on a very cold evening which was comforting as it was freezing outside. Will definitely return here again. Can’t fault it in anyway. Can recommend the steak and ale pie and the eton mess. We had One soft drink each and it was all under £25 per person.

We have Just had a lovely Sunday lunch at Keepers, great roast Lamb and Beef, plenty of everything. We enjoyed the “outdoor experience” of the stretched tent. Everyone is doing their best under the circumstances. We will certainly be back. Graham and Vera Leverton
