Nice breakfast been there for lunch great food ..

Well kept garden centre and the restaurant didn’t disappoint, been twice , meals are served very quickly for a busy place, and special mention for the Manageress for her friendly banter, we will be back!

Absolutely loads of items to choose from. Some unusual gifts, craft, garden items. Cafe, and certain foods for sale. Lovely place to visit on a wet or sunny day.

Extremely good stock range, very friendly and helpful staff. We will be regular visitors!

Food in the Restaurant not great. I had baked potato with coronation chicken.. portions plentiful but didn't taste that nice unfortunately.

Very disappointing meal, my first time visiting this restaurant. Ordered small fish and chips. There was virtually no fish in the tiny piece of hard overcooked batter served. Costing over £10. I was offered a complementary drink as an apology! Very poor service.

Not been out here for a long time, years. Its come on leaps and bounds. A largd and varied plant selection where the plants look well cared for and well maintained. Had a breakfast, which we felt, was probably the best in Tiverton area. Well cooked, good ingredients, friendly and efficient service in a bright and fresh (and clean) environment

Great experience.Freya and staff all kind and due to the popularity of the place we were told there would be a slight delay so no complaints. Food ,courteous service and cleanliness first class and so nice to be in the 'NO DOGS' area.Previously at other places this week we have suffered;noisy and badly behaved dogs so this was a real delight.Well done and thank you ladies.

We stopped off after driving home from Croyde. On the off chance we asked for a table and we managed to get one. The food was brilliant!! There was a wait, but this is testament to them serving food not fast food. We had Mac and cheese with garlic bread and salad and a fish finger sandwich with chips and salad. Great portion sizes and really flavourful. Thanks so much!

Lovely range of plants. Needed to find a passion fruit.we looked around the climbers but couldn't find one. We went inside and asked a lady if she knew if they had any. She was very miserable, she said everything was out. She said if we look in the roses we should see someone to ask. She wasn't very helpful and didn't even smile. Not sure if we will return

Had the full English in the restaurant with our baby recently - we were so well taken care of, as was our baby! 😊

Helpful and easy to talk to team

Had a delicious meal with elderly relatives and our two dogs. I can highly recommend the mushroom risotto. Vegan options were good for my daughter. The waiting staff were really lovely. They were warm, friendly, kind, helpful and very patient. All in all it was a really enjoyable visit.

Easy for disabled to get in and out, havnt tried the cafe part as too busy buying stuff. Big carpark with a clearance area and compost or bagged things for collections straight into the boot

We often visit the Old Well as it's a convenient location just off the motorway. We enjoyed an excellent lunch, generous portions and very reasonably priced at £6 for an egg and cress sandwich with a pile of crisps and salad. My dairy free requirements were well catered for and without fuss. The service we got from Annie was cheerful and made us feel very welcome. I'd happily recommend a trip out, the plant selection is good and the plants healthy. All round a good place to visit.

Not a huge garden centre BUT they do have a massive selection of pots (the most expensive I spotted was £600). They have pots with patterns and surface textures I haven't seen in other garden centres, so if you want something a bit different it's worth having a look here. They have 2 cafes on site. The food is pretty reasonable, but there isn't a huge selection .. jacket spuds from £5 etc. They have level parking (mainly gravelled), an outside toilet (don't look up in the ladies unless you like mould!), plenty of plants, garden furniture, gifts etc .. and all the staff we spoke with there were very friendly and helpful.

Initial visit to see what was on offer. Good range of garden and household items. Good refreshments too. Prices a tad high but good quality goods.

Huge garden centre with some great plants and pots and everything else garden related. Also sells local cakes and afternoon tea.

Long long long wait for food. We had been here before all the changes and had a great experience never waited ted more that 20-25 minutes for delicious breakfast to arrive. BUT now it’s over 45 minutes and the breakfast was disappointing. The tomato was not cooked enough, beans tasteless and cold, mushroom soaked in oil, sausage and Hash browns also tasteless. Our tea was drunk long before the breakfast arrived. On another table a couple waited over an hour. They arrived the same time as us, we ate paid and left and their breakfast still hadn’t arrived !!! And I forgot to photograph it. Never again. What a shame

One star awarded solely for the state of the ladies toilets, which is a shame as the plants, restaurant, coffee shop and above all else the staff are brilliant. I have spoken to the management on two separate occasions about the toilets even showing them photos. I am not fixated on toilets but they are disgusting. I asked could they just change the toilet seats as they are chipped, dirty and the seats are broken although there are other problems as well. There is no sheet in the toilet even saying when they were last cleaned!!!! So management please just get the minimum done.

Good range of healthy plants. Helpful staff. Some of the plants have limited labelling..so had to go on line using my phone to look up key features. Cafe nice..but outside closed and inside only has a very small space where you can take a dog. The scones were good..but surprisingly little hot water in the teapot!Lovely cafe staff

If you want a lovely lunch with great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Look no further. Just had a very yummy fish and chips. Ice cream for dessert. It's nice to be somewhere where the staff are making an effort. Very good value for money.

Popped in to look for some house plants. Ended up buying cake and biscuits!

I am a frequent visitor to the centre and especially the coffee shop, usually arrive on a bicycle, there are loads of car spaces but nothing for bikes, for safety I need to lash my bike to something that cannot be moved.

Beautiful breakfast! Me and mum go every 10 weeks when our dog is being groomed near by and the cafe food never disappoints us! Lovely staff too.

The food and service in the restaurant was excellent and I would think every team member we came across while wondering around met us with smile and a hello. Thank you to all who wished my dad a happy birthday on our way around and who spoke to my 1year old son as he tottled around looking for flowers. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Odd, slightly nightmarish place. Great garden centre, and low prices in the caffe but there is an odd and time consuming procedure to get seated, food took ages, and then you got to pay on the way out with the people who seat you so constantly dash out. That's not working.

My mother and I had been to the cafe before and had a lovely experience so the other day we thought we would have some lunch in the cafe. It was very busy as a coach had turned up and there was a queue, however a member of staff said there were tables in around the back. So me, my disabled mother and 8 month old baby made our way to an available table so I could settle them, get my baby's bottler ready and then I would join the queue. Which we have done in nearly every single establishment (unless you are seated by staff) we have visited and I believe to be the norm when going to eat somewhere you check you can sit before ordering. There were lots of occupied tables with one person sat waiting for their companion who was obviously queuing, which was my next goal. Just as we were getting settled, a female member of staff approached us in a very rude manner saying we had just walked past a queue of people who were waiting and they would need a table to be available. Taken aback I advised that I was about to join the queue but my mother is disabled and needed to sit down and I would join the queue. She was very rude and said, we had just come and sat down, with no glimpse of empathy at our situation or that it is normal to make sure you can sit somewhere first before getting an order in place. Would she have preferred for my mother with a degenerative spine condition to stand and wait in the queue, all whilst I was trying to feed my baby?? She tried to say it all again but I just turned around and said we were leaving. At no point did her colleague advise we needed to queue first and in what world is it ok to just be so rude and obnoxious. Clearly they were completely overwhelmed with the level of customers they had but then they shouldn't work in a place that accepts coaches. Also, this establishment is mostly frequented by retired people, who most likely include customers with different abilities, so clearly inclusion is not part of their ethos. Shame on you The Old Well.

We love this garden centre and the cafe. The breakfasts are top notch, great value for money and the staff are fantastic. Defo a place to visit and chillax!

Great breakfast and such a friendly warm welcome plus delightful service in the restaurant. The garden centre itself is fantastic so an ideal destination all round. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our unpromptu lunch today. It wasn't planned so no booking and luckily the staff bent over backwards to find us a table. We noticed how busy the restaurant was, this was reflected a little in the speed of the service, whereas they were very friendly and helpful the food order took longer than expected However the meals were superb, everything was of a high standard and delicious. We followed our mains with desserts which were also of the same high standard and we left impressed and with every intention of returning.

A first class restaurant . Always friendly and very helpful staff . Choice of food excellent. Also a very well stocked garden nursery and shop, something for everyone.

Went to the Old Well Garden Centre for one of their breakfasts. Food was great and so was the service . The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant .Highly recommend .

Took my 3 week old baby here and the staff were so attentive and helped keep my baby happy and calm whilst I ate my breakfast. The whole place is very welcoming, great little find!

Fantastic place to visit .Good selection plants etc . Places to eat , coffee and cake etc . Recommended

We bought a Buddha garden statue and they damaged it on delivery. We happened to notice the damage few days later when pointed by one of our neighbors. When we went to make a complaint about the damage, they didn't even acknowledge that it could have happened on the transport and put it all on us. Extremely disappointed.

It's a great place for a coffee and a snack or something more substantial if you want it.

The cakes were stale, the tea was strong. Used to love the cakes and scones here. They were the best around. It was what this place was known for and what they did best.

Best garden centre we have found. Really enjoyed afternoon tea great value too. We had been making our way home after a nice day out in Taunton and had visited serval other centres for an afternoon tea and had the usual embarrassing reply that we needed to book at least a day in advance and would also need a bank loan to afford it. Popped into old Wells and we were asked if we would like afternoon tea, no fuss, great value and throughly enjoyed it, in fact was too much and had to take some home. The centre is great too, very friendly and we bought a load of reduced bulbs. We'll definitely be back next time we're travelling back to Dorset.

Nice bit of light brunch to start the day! Update January 2024, went in for some lunch, had the fish gougon sandwich which was great. Side salad and crisps to go with it for £7. Reasonable value for what there was. Service was good. Friendly helpful staff. Toilets were clean. Comfortable chairs and clean tables.

Lots of plants decent quality huge amount of pots, the usual gifts etc, a cafe and restaurant neither are dog friendly, if you got a dog you can sit outside it is under cover but no heating and open to the elements, which is a shame.

Really good inexpensive food. People helpful and friendly.

This place seems to have gone downhill fast which is such a shame as you always used to get such great tasting food and a great atmosphere before the management changed. The prices have increased greatly also.
