The best restaurants in Mid Devon South West

To get here from Launceston was difficult, down narrow lanes and road closures. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the cafe, the coffee was good, the food was OK, just a bread based sandwich with no dressing like salad, perfectly reasonable for a bikers themed cafe. What I did find unexpected was the variety of customers not all of which came on bikes. It felt like a locals cafe as well. Nice

Beautiful cafe and modern menu. I plumped for the Rarebit with poached egg with a pot of home made baked beans and a hot choc. Delicious! They make their own produce and the most crusty Sour dough bread. The outside of the building undervalues what’s inside. Well worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing food! Great atmosphere with the fairy lights everywhere & undercover. Service was great. We had a shed to ourselves (prebooked online). Has its own little speaker so able to play our own music via Bluetooth, has its own heater above the door and your allowed to close the doors if your cold too. Food sizes are very generous, suggest sharing a side as they are big. Recommend getting the extra 3 dips for £4 as they are all so good with the pulled pork fries. Great casual place for a drink/food of a weekend evening. Definitely book though as it gets busy.

From the ease of online ordering to the point of delivery, everything was first class. A text message was sent on dispatch of the order and food arrived on the dot of 8pm - piping hot, beautifully packaged and gratefully received. Thanku for our delicious supper - we will be ordering again very soon. Thoroughly recommend and highly rate the Thai Herb Kitchen.

Easiest way to explain this place is a hidden gem. Great food and great service.

considering we had booked via telephone nearly a month ago. We had turned up for our meal and it all been cancelled without communication to us. We were a party of 10 people celebrating a birthday having to find somewhere last minute. It would of been more help if the bartender was more apologetic, it was a customer that had said that the owners are on holiday are evening was spoilt as we had all been looking forward to your hospitality rather then hostility.

My favourite place in Thorverton and has been for decades.

Old broken sofa & junk all over the place. Scruffy & dirty has never been trendy. Shame the food wasn’t better. Very basic. Interesting response from owner. Seems he’d rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. But certainly fits into today’s narrative, if you don’t agree with ME then you’re not welcome here.

The roast they serve was absolutely amazing, and was a very good afternoon up to one moment. My family and I noticed some vulgar language being thrown at one of the staff members. We were absolutely mortified that this behavior is accepted amongst the staff and ruined the formal and peaceful atmosphere. We hope the manager can resolve this situation for the future. It is safe to say I won't be returning to the Cadeleigh Arms.
