The roast they serve was absolutely amazing, and was a very good afternoon up to one moment. My family and I noticed some vulgar language being thrown at one of the staff members. We were absolutely mortified that this behavior is accepted amongst the staff and ruined the formal and peaceful atmosphere. We hope the manager can resolve this situation for the future. It is safe to say I won't be returning to the Cadeleigh Arms.

We were staying as a group of 6 at the deer park down the road and always go out for Sunday roast . We popped in on Saturday and met Raymond, the manager and one of the bar staff. They were very friendly and treated us like locals. On Sunday we returned for Sunday roast The food was gorgeous. Generous meat portions, huge yorkies, lovely selection of fresh veg and cauli cheese. Two of the party had dessert and commented how scummy they were. Our waitress, Ali, was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. As a retired skittles team, Raymond offered us the skittles alley to go have a knock around and constantly checked in onus to see if we needed anything. I don't think I have ever been into a village pub and felt more welcomed. I really can't fault their hospitality and genuine warmth.

Having visited the Cadeleigh Arms a few times, whenever visiting relatives in Tiverton, we were upset that it had closed down. So, we were happy to see it had reopened in March 2024. I popped in for a cheeky pint when passing and came across the new landlord, Raymond. After a fun chat and quick tour it became apparent that this would be a great place to bring my wedding guests for the ‘day after party’ Sunday lunch. Since that day I have visited several times and had lunch with my wife and friends. Each time we have been greeted with open arms by staff and locals alike. When our wedding day finally arrived we made a late booking for 15 people for a pre wedding dinner and drinks. We were given a great welcome and dinner was served without issue. On the Sunday 52 guests arrived and were all served a very generous 3 course meal without any issues. Everyone enjoyed their meals and said that they had not received this level of service in sometime. Vegan options were amazing and portions were huge. Many thanks to Raymond, Pat, Jenny, Jade & Cliff plus their amazing colleagues for making us feel so welcomed. We will see you all very soon. Xx

Rung up to book a roast for my family - bloke was very blunt/rude on the phone, I kept repeating myself, asked what meats were being served that day, I got huffing and puffing on the phone because he had to go and check, once informed and I replied thank you and before I could get chance to book a table the phone was put down on me! Lost out on a good money earner and future custom! No wonder their struggling…

We've been staying not too far from this lovely pub and so glad we were, as the food was superb and the staff were very attentive, we also had Luna our beloved German shepherd with us which was no trouble at all as they all loved her even making sure she had some treats while we ate. The landlord Raymond has quite a few yarns to tell, having been in hospitality for most of his life. So be warned you may go in for a quick drink or a simple meal, and end up staying all evening, can only recommend a visit if you're near by, a pure gem.

My husband and I recently called by this gem of a country village pub. The food was absolutely delicious and the service extremely kind and friendly. The cosy open fire contributed greatly towards the warm welcoming atmosphere and definitely a place we'd return to in the future. Well done to the landlord and staff of Cadleigh Arms. We came by The Cadeleigh Arms quite by accident while out with our dog for a Saturday afternoon adventure. The landlord was very welcoming and the pub is well furnished, cosy, and homely while also very well presented. We had drinks and crisps and will return for food. An amazing menu including burgers, veggie and vegan, as well as Sunday roasts and a steak deal on Thursdays. Great space for diners, large groups as well as those just wanting a drink. A lovely garden with very comfortable seating. We will return.

We called in for a drink yesterday and after an entertaining chat with Raymond at the bar we thought let's give the food a go and booked a table for this evening. It really couldn't have gone any better than it did. The welcome from the staff is genuine as they clearly want you to enjoy your time there. I ordered the garlic king prawn starter followed by fish & chips and my wife ordered the garlic chicken pasta dish. The whole meal was excellent and a credit to the chef, particularly the breaded fish and the curry sauce. I haven't had fish and chips as good as this for a long long time. We've been travelling round the south coast for the last couple of weeks and eating out most days. I can honestly say the Cadeleigh Arms is doing something different with a real feel of standards and service you sadly don't see that often these days. Well done to all involved. ps if you're going to give it a try be sure to book ahead

We turned up unannounced on a Sunday at 12pm and requested a table for 2.30pm as we had a walk planned in the local area. The staff were extremely welcoming and agreed to fit us in even though they had a table of 10 at the same time. One very tiring and wet walk later we returned to the pub and once again were given an amazingly warm welcome and shown to our table. My wife is gluten free and the chef went to the lengths of preparing her a gluten free cauliflower cheese, gravy and yorkshire pudding to enjoy as part of her meal - amazing! The food was fantastic and the staff were even better, we will definitely be back again and will recommend the pub to family and friends . . . . . . just don't ask Buster to pour you a Guiness! ;-)

My best dining experience of the year (and we've been to some good places!). Griddled mackerel with Jerusalem artichoke shavings to start. It was wonderfully fresh and tasty. Pan fried bass with a fennel and pastis puree was utterly delicious I finished with an autumn fruit cheesecake with pistachio. All three dishes were lick-the-plate-clean good, the beer and cider were well kept, and there was a great selection of wine and soft drinks. The service was attentive, friendly and not overbearing. Not sure about the food but customer service is certainly non existent. We didn’t book and I appreciate places get full booked, which is fine. However, we called 7 times (from 6pm to 6.15pm) and the telephone goes to voice mail. When we popped over, to be check the situation, the woman rudely pointed towards a tiny sign with lots of writing saying we are fully booked. Before I even had time to open my mouth and ask where they can suggest we might find a space, this woman just stormed off. Food was excellent and servers were pleasant. We had the antipaste, burgers, curry, chicken and most of the sweet menu and I dont think anyone could fall it on flavour or presentation. Really enjoyed the fact much of the food seemed to be local and they had fully catered for anyone who is vegan with a separate menu. Had a slight problem with the temperature as I think they had an open back door and I was a little cold. I did not have a chance to ask about closing it while there as I was with a group but I have the feeling they would have been helpful in sorting this out. Also would recommend getting a seat at the back of the pub to avoid the noisy road. But if that doesn't bother you then the window is quite pleasant with comfortable seats. The pub has adapted for the current Covid climate with hand sanitisation on entry as well as all over the pub, there are screens between front and back of bar and social distancing markers. I would go back to this gastropub.

This was an unexpected pleasure, found at random while looking for lunch. Welcomed by friendly staff who found us a table, got our food and drinks orders and left us a large free bowl of truffle popcorn to tide us over. Ordered the Sunday menu offerings of the hake dish and the mussels dish to share with my partner. Was then greeted by a frankly astounding array of food, the hake and mussel dishes themselves were delicious and generously large but also accompanied by fries, cheesy leeks and roasted seasonal veg (including maybe some of the best and biggest roast potatoes I've ever had). The only sadness was not having room for one of their great sounding desserts, but next time we're in the area, we'll try again. It's off the beaten track but well worth the diversion.

If that's the way they speak to you on the phone then what's it going to be like actually working there. Don't put adverts for jobs out of you don't want people ringing up to apply. Very nice food but exceptionally slow service. It took an hour from ordering for the food to arrive.

Superb place that I have visited on a few occasions, and I’m no stranger to cafes or farm shops. Great staff working hard on a small cafe, with great service, superb food and hot drinks!

Old broken sofa & junk all over the place. Scruffy & dirty has never been trendy. Shame the food wasn’t better. Very basic. Interesting response from owner. Seems he’d rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism. But certainly fits into today’s narrative, if you don’t agree with ME then you’re not welcome here.
