Lots of vegan options to choose from. Had fishless and chips, huge portion size, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Even though I was full, having vegan dessert options didn't stop me! Coconut and ginger tart with vegan ice cream, delicious. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Can take dogs if kept under the table. The cafe is at the top of town away from the sea front but absolutely well worth the visit!

Lovely find amongst the streets of Sidmouth. Sat in courtyard which was dog friendly. Food was lovely. Bacon butty had by husband ‘couldn’t fault it’ and he’s had a few. I enjoyed a cheese scone with a lovely chutney. The service deserves a mention, very efficient, helpful and friendly.

I have responded to the experience questions despite a non visit. My message is based on the fact I was ultimately unable to enjoy the products from my online order, as I appear to be excluded from delivery listings due to the fact I live on a Scottish Island. Whilst understanding of the potential costs involved, perhaps the company could at least offer the option to the customer to cover such...something I would be only happy to oblige with....regardless of the amount David Wilkie Isle of Cumbrae Scotland 07488941692

Visit here all the time, it's our go to place for lunch in Sidmouth. The two ladies and gent that work in here are never short of a laugh, welcoming and easy to talk to. Prices are extremely reasonable we think for the portion sizes we get and choice of salads and filling nicely presented. Large salad boll was rambled. Lovely. It is tucked down a side alley, so be sure to visit.

Myself and my husband had dinner at the restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food. The service was ok but the food was a disappointment. My husband's starter which was "trio of beetroot" was nice but mine which was "prawn cocktail"was awful. There was hardly any sauce , the lettuce was soggy and the prawn was hard. It was tasteless After the starter we had to wait a very long time before we got our main course. A couple of times the staff came to apologise and told us that the Dover Sole which I ordered was taking a long time to cook. He offered us a sorbet. Eventually it came and again I was disappointed as it was tasteless. My husband got his main meal which was beans and lentils pie and then immediately it was taken away because the waiter was not certain that he had received the proper meal. We had to wait for another fifteen minutes for his meal to arrive The whole experience was not what one would expect from a hotel like this. We were looking forward to a nice evening but it was a disappointment. It felt as though the chef didn't have any experience of cooking.

We visited the Riveria for lunch today, our first visit for 8 years and I have to say that I was very disappointed. I ordered cod and chips at a hotel next to the sea but I was given a piece of battered fish straight out of the "Bird's Eye" mould and not freshly cooked as I expected from a hotel of some repute. This was nowhere near the quality I enjoy regularly from my local Wetherspoons!

We had expected to have trouble finding a restaurant with a free table as today is Mothers' Day. There was an empty table here and as they were serving roast lamb we went in. The lamb was lean and there was a good selection of vegetables and new potatoes. For dessert, we both had a large slice of a delicious sticky toffee pudding, one with a very generous portion of ice cream and the other with custard. With a glass of wine too, the bill was very reasonable.

Absolutely fantastic location on the beautiful seafront. Clean hotel with basic breakfast served, unfortunately very little choice on what time to have breakfast. Only option was after 9 every morning and often not much fruit salad left on the buffet by then. They're unable to accommodate guests who prefer to decide, on waking, when to have breakfast. We opted not to have the evening meal. Disappointed that the bar closes at 10:30 pm, latest. On occasions would really have liked a drink bit later than this which does not seem unreasonable to me. Hotel obviously very understaffed but staff were pleasant and hard working. Revolting view from our small stuffy bedroom window (see photo) Window had covering placed over it to disguise the disgusting outlook. Window only opened a few cms and the room was extremely stuffy, insufficient air circulating around the room but the hotel communal areas were comfortable. I have asthma and my room worsened it considerably and made it very hard for me to sleep so not a restful break at all hence poor review.

Staying at Harbour Hotel booked evening meal we had the crusty bread and olive oil as a starter it was lovely bread was hot and tasted divine , main courses fish and chips with crushed peas the fish was so big it was over the edge of the plate both sides , batter was light and fish flaky , for dessert we had the ice cream which was delicious . Service was relaxed but professional so overall a great meal well done all.👌
