I have responded to the experience questions despite a non visit. My message is based on the fact I was ultimately unable to enjoy the products from my online order, as I appear to be excluded from delivery listings due to the fact I live on a Scottish Island. Whilst understanding of the potential costs involved, perhaps the company could at least offer the option to the customer to cover such...something I would be only happy to oblige with....regardless of the amount David Wilkie Isle of Cumbrae Scotland 07488941692

Great staff and quality lunch options. If you have a small appetite, share a lunch. Small dining area so try to get there sooner rather than later for your meal.

Four of us called in here for coffees and teas. Service was good but as we sat inside we were surprised to be given paper cups. They were way too hot to hold so we had to ask for more cups in order to insulate them. Surely they could manage china cups?!

Ordered 2 baguettes, 1sandwich, 1 hot dog and a salad. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait which we thought was acceptable as it was fairly busy. 50 minutes later and our food finally arrived. It tasted lovely but unfortunately the unacceptabley long wait made it much less enjoyable.

Amazing food at fantastic prices. I had the falafel wrap, which was seriously the best I ever had at £5.50. A great place for vegetarians and vegans! My husband had a prawn sandwich which he said was really good. You build your own sandwich with 4 salad items to go with your filling. All for £3.95. The only downside was we didn’t enjoy a member of staff coming in and using the F word in a rant while customers were in the cafe. Needs to be customer aware!

I have just had a lovely lunch from The Filling Station. Great food, great service and a great selection of food. I came on here to leave a review of the fab hot dog I have had only to see there was a negative review complaining about the size of the dog. I have to say that my sausage was the perfect size for the bun! And more than enough for a filling lunch. It’s a shame I didn’t take a photo before I ate it.

Went in today after seeing on their billboard that they were offering American hotdogs. Waited a good 10-15 for what was terrible. The hotdog didn’t fit the roll as you can see in the picture below. When I went into the shop a member of staff started preparing what I thought was my hotdog but instead was making a baguette which she preceded to walk out of the shop with and only then was mine “made”. I say “made “very loosely because a small hotdog was thrown into a larger roll with raw onions thrown on top of it. Worse £3.00 for the hotdog and 25p for the raw onions I’ve ever spent.

We visited Sidmouth for a few hours and needed lunch. Initially I was considering Fish n Chips, the usual thing! I came across The Filling Station, didn't look much from the outside but decided it was a healthier option. We did have to wait a while but the baguette and my partner's salad were prepared from scratch. The BEST sandwich I've had, if only we lived closer! You get an array of choices for filling and then included in the price is a selection of salad items and sauces. Also GF option for bread. Friendly happy service too.

Not sure if i'm missing something about the below reviews claiming this place as good. Visited today, wasn't busy at all, but I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a bland filling, some sort of bread that I could have gotten half baked at Tesco with service that made me feel like they were doing ME a favour rather than me giving them my custom. Avoid.

A great choice at The Filling Station. Find them down the alley in town - Cross Lane. We had takeaway lunch - a cheddar & red onion granary sandwich and a 'Reuben' special pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut on toasted sourdough. Both delicious! I had toz wait about 10 - 15 mins after ordering. Covid precautions in place: only 1 customer inside at a time.

Myself and my partner popped in to get some sandwiches as we were en route to the beach and needed something quick. The wait took a while but they were practising social distancing well and it was the lunchtime rush so completely understandable! I had a beeaauttiffulll sourdough sandwich with roast chicken, avocado, lettuce, sweetcorn and they even offered vegan mayo!!! I did have some initial confusion as I had never seen sourdough brown bread, not a sourdough baguette- so popped back to double check it was sourdough as I am gluten free, and the server was very kind and checked for me. When she returned she said it definitely was but offered me a refund as it was not what I expected, which I thought was very kind.

We decided to try it out today (10/07/19) after accidentally finding it the day before. I wanted to try the Egyptian Street Food dish called "Kashari" but was told it was sold out - they hadn't had chance to indicate this because they were very busy. Instead I ordered a regular salad (£3.50) comprising 6 items plus a filling (another £1.50). My other half had a BBQ pulled pork baguette with salad garnish of 4 items. He really enjoyed his and mine was ok: it would've been great if there was a bit more of items which were scant and a dressing sauce. In my bowl there was 5 olives, 1.5 thin slices of avocado and 4 slices of jalepenos, a couple of tablespoonfuls of orzo plus sundried tomato and lots of iceberg lettuce. The filling was also a couple of tablespoonfuls of chargrilled veg. Luckily the girl at the till forgot to charge me for the filling, so I didn't feel too short-changed. The Luscombe flavoured drinks were interesting - I had the Rhubarb Crush which tasted like bitter lemons! I should've had the elderflower that my other half liked.

We had been meaning to try out this place because of it's great reviews. We chose one of their Egyptian specials and waited with anticipation! Sadly it was really bland and watery, mostly consisted of pasta with a really small amount of beans, chick peas, onion and tomato sauce. So disappointing. Not sure if it was because they had run out of most stuff by the time we arrived (we would have preferred to have been offered a good sandwich than this, if they had said they couldn't do any Egyptian food), and certainly the staff were pleasant (hence one star), but really let down by what they served us.

I've now been to the Filling Station on a few occasions since discovering it a few months ago. The coffee is the best in Sidmouth and seems to be the only place where you get a proper hot moka. We were looking for a bite to eat for lunch and headed to The Filling Station with the intention (in my case) of having a takeaway pasty. My wife fancied a salad and a sit-down so we decided to ask if they allowed dogs in their seating area - which they happily did. The salad options are great - you choose your main element (tuna, ham, prawns, etc.) and then have a choice of 6 salad elements. This was the small salad - you have more choices for the large. This all looked so good I was tempted away from earlier thoughts of a pasty. The salads are served on a very nice platter on simple tables in the eating area. They were fresh and very tasty.

Eat-in or take out light meals, well they were supposed to be light but most mortals would struggle with some of the wraps. Unfortunately they didn't have any Vegan cakes but directed us to a health food shop nearby that sold vegan cakes and invited us to eat it at their cafe, which we did. Another positive, whilst they do use disposable cups rather than 'proper' cups and saucers, the cups are fully compostable

We visit Sidmouth at least once a year and have had pasties from The Filling Station 6 times now! A few years ago we even made a detour on our way home from Cornwall to have a pasty from here! Our most recent visit was last Sunday (27th Sept) and we, as always, loved what we ate on the beach. It is tucked away on a narrow lane but is well worth finding! They put a sign at either end of the lane to guide you off the main streets.

O.M.G. the pasties are to die for. It's a tiny shop but it's worth queuing outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful.. Well worth a visit. The pasties taste great eaten on the beach, but watch out for the seagulls, they like them too!

We were recommended to go here by our Hopper bus driver and he was so right about the pasties! Definitely the best we've had in a long time. This is a tiny little place tucked away off the main shopping streets in Sidmouth. Well worth seeking it out for pasties, pies, drinks and lovely sweet things. Friendly staff and very clean.

We were dancing at the Sidmouth Folk week and didn't want to eat too much between dance spots....we stumbled across the Filling Station en route to the pub on our first day and tried the Steak & Blue pasty. So, soo delicious; we had them for lunch every day and ordered a few to bring home! The chicken & chorizo and pork & scrumpy are totally delish too. Best pasties I've tasted anywhere and I've tried many! It's a take away so most of the questions asked below are not applicable.

Fantastic range of pasties, I had a traditional one and this was lovely. My wifes Egyptian falafel wrap was going well until a seagull came from behind and helped itself to it.Cultured seagulls in Sidmouth, watch out for them!

We had to try the new Sunday lunch menu and we were not disappointed. Roast beef served with roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, cheesy leeks and a proper Yorkshire - not one of those rock hard crispy things restaurants often serve. Followed up with the best freshly cooked Blueberry Bakewell and cream. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks very much

Fabulous pub with great garden. We’ve been a couple of times for a drink and something to eat from one of the food trucks (they are not doing food from the kitchen yet!) pub looks great - everyone super friendly - what’s not to like !! Looking forward to seeing what food trucks popping up in September !! Hilary and Chris

We celebrated our daughter's 5th birthday party today at Amazing Grazing. It was incredible- marquee set up with tables; smaller marquee with tuff trays of games; whole paddock with tonnes of activities from building to tyre rolling to a miniature flower shop; goat, pig and alpaca supervised feeding. Superb from start to finish. Fantastic value for money and Taro was so helpful right from booking to the day itself making sure it was the best experience for our little girl and her friends.
