Last year we discovered the unattended converted horse box near Devonport Park but in January we found the established shop/cafe in Albert Road. Very friendly and good selection of food all home baked. We think round the back of this cafe.

Great service from Billy Nichol (Manager) he was a wonderful and accommodating young man. Having come from Kent for a visit he ensured we had a lovely breakfast meal. He also went above and beyond when I left my sunglasses in the pub - delivering them directly back to me, safe and sound. Best regards, Lucy

Doorman thinks people are stupid, telling customers they can't sit outside with a tiny little dog, as Spoons don't have a licence for dogs lol. He most likely thought, they here with the RAF/Army rugby crowd they are not local, let's get rid. Actually we live in Gloucester and often see people sitting outside the regal with their dogs and this is way I rather spend my money in Cheltenham...

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay here, location is fantastic, right opposite the abbey, with the weather so good we were able to sit out and watch the peregrines flying around. The staff were all lovely and friendly, as were the people of Tewkesbury in general. We had dinner and evening meals here which for the most part were nice, we were disappointed with one of the breakfasts, the full English, it did say 2 sausages on the menu but we only got one, we would have said something however the sausages weren't that nice, my other half's looked like it had been cooked then reheated, the fried egg wasn't runny either. It filled a gap and that was the main thing. The room was basic - enough for what we like - just somewhere to sleep, I found the bed nice a comfy. The shower is powerful, which was lovely, a decent hairdryer as well which makes a change for hotels. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Some very loud pounding music and extremely loud customers. It was a bit early for loud music in my view, but trying to attract younger crowd I guess. Probably give this a miss now but a shame as used to be a good pub with previous landlord. Food cheap but overcooked.

Just spent a few hours in the beer garden on a Saturday afternoon. I was shocked at the state of it. Nearly every table with empty glasses and so much rubbish on the floor. Looked like it's not been brushed for weeks. It wasn't busy so no excuse. We watched every server deliver a drink and the first hour no one cleared a table after serving the drink. Then as it seemed busier some young men workers when serving a drink then took a few empty glasses down. One young girl worker constantly delivered drinks looked at the messy tables and just walked on. Tables filthy. Floor filthy. We visit lots of wetherspoons around the south West and this has always been the worst. Unfortunately this is our local one and only visit occasionally as never happy here. Hopefully the management will work on their employees to actually do better .
